This winery is small and simple, but offers free tasting of approx 6-7 drinks into very small cups. They also have a shop with some unique wines.

The port is excellent but I have to say I was highly disappointed by the tasting samples, they definitely didn't put their best out for sampling. I could clearly find a wine fault in one sample.

Very DISAPPOINTED 🤔. I came to taste their best wine which is a Gold Award winner - Hosaka Koshu Barrel Fermentation but they did not make tasting, even a paid one. I decided NOT TO BUY any wine from them 🫢🫢 If they let you taste only the cheapest and less signuficant wines, it does not worth it! I weny to Chateau Mercian afterwards, and had a wonderful tasting experience. NOT RECOMMENDED 😐😐

Came at the wrong time! Holiday November weekend with sweet “Nouveau” from casks in the wall and because of holiday, they weren’t doing the paid tastings of the real wine that could inform customers of whether what they’re selling is worth buying! Aargh!

Yelp
We stopped here on a tour with HIS Hawaii. They took use through their wine making process and showed us some of their casks. Then came the best part, the tastings. They have 4 wines available (2 reds and 2 whites) for tasting along with grape juice for the non-drinkers. They also let us taste a special shochu port that they make in limited supply. We ended up buying a bottle of that as it was very good and such a unique flavor. They also sell food items in their shop along with the wine. The staff was very friendly and I think it's a nice change from touring sake breweries while in Japan.
