This Sunny Hermosa Beach Patio Is the South Bay’s Coolest Weekend Breakfast Spot | Eater LA

"A former laundromat with a storied history as a Mexican, Cantonese, and dinner-focused bar and grill, this legendary South Bay restaurant has, since 2018, become a daily seaside breakfast gathering spot with some of the friendliest service in Los Angeles and a south-facing patio that’s the best place to see-and-be seen. It’s also become a regular weekend brunch haunt for our family, where servers are quick to bring high chairs and crayons for kids and portions are big enough that takeout boxes seem prerequisite. Expect a classic American brunch with a touch of California beach flair: a righteous breakfast burrito whose loose construction is offset by a filling of both bacon and sausage, white cheddar and Havarti, and crispy potatoes, all slathered with sour cream, pico de gallo, salsa verde, and salsa roja so every bite feels like catching a wave; the locally famous white corn scramble, simple but easy to love, with fresh kernels studding a wabi-sabi pile of scrambled eggs and Havarti that’s best spooned over wide slices of buttery toast; Eggs Hermosa, essentially eggs Benedict with garlic-covered tomato, spinach, and a slice of Canadian bacon where acidity and a heady punch of garlic balance the softened spinach; and a chicken Caesar wrap that ignores LA’s finely chopped trend but still does the job with larger bites of chicken breast and a dense, garlicky dressing. Don’t let the gaggle at the host stand scare you off—tables turn quickly and waits are rarely more than a few minutes." - Matthew Kang

Was out here visiting my partner, last day out here before I head back out. We decided to hit this up and we were both pleasantly surprised. Quality and service was A1. The outdoor seating was great too. Only thing is people bringing their dogs in between where we're sitting and they're shaking and scratching. Dont want dog hair in my food. Other than that, lovely spot.

Stopped in for my first time today and I was really impressed. Breakfast was honestly delicious and the location is hard to beat. It’s located in Hermosa Beach really close to the actual beach. Parking in the area can be a bit difficult but spaces open up quite frequently, but it will definitely be metered, there aren’t really any free parking spaces. We arrived around 10:30 for Sunday brunch and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated for a party of two. The wait was worth it and even though we had to sit outside, it was covered and our server was polite and attentive. They have many tables inside as well as out so there are plenty of seating options. Inside and outside were both bustling and it was really busy, but service was still pretty quick. The menu has a lot of great options, but I decided to go with the Eggs California because I am a huge Benedict fan and I added chorizo which I would highly recommend. The chorizo and avocado combination is almost unbeatable, and I honestly loved it. The coffee was also strong and overall I thought it was a fantastic breakfast. I would say it’s my favorite breakfast spot in Hermosa Beach and would recommend to anyone.

Great neighborhood brunch with tasty classics. Consistently satisfying and worth a repeat visit. Solid beach-brunch spot with good energy and solid execution

Google
Super busy on weekends but that’s what you want at a beachside cafe. Breakfast burrito was top notch (8.4/10) and the service was fast for take out orders. Would recommend if you’re in the area, love the beach and like quality food.

Martha’s in Hermosa Beach is an absolute gem! The menu offers something for everyone. You can tell ingredients are fresh, and the variety means you’ll want to come back just to try more. What really makes the experience special is the outdoor terrace. Sitting outside just steps from the beach, soaking up the sun with a great meal and ocean breeze — it doesn’t get much better than that. The laid-back, welcoming atmosphere paired with attentive service makes it the perfect spot for a weekend brunch or casual lunch. Highly recommended!

Second time at this jewel of Hermosa. Only issue is the wait time. We were a party of 5 with a dog. Sat in their patio. Was served by Heather. She is awesome. It was so busy on a Saturday lunch time so can’t blame the slow service but it’s worth the wait. I had the fried chicken sandwich that is to die for with curly fries. Everyone enjoyed their food. The only complaint was the hasbrowns that was a bit mushy for my taste. Kinda like texture of boiled potato.

Great location, close to the beach. Lots of options for breakfast, food and coffee were great. It was busy but service was quick!

Google
found this place on Google and decided to give it a try. The food and service was absolutely incredible. Our server was a lady with glasses and blonde hair. I forgot her name, but she was so nice and was on top of everything. I went to go breakfast with my mother and we ordered the banana latte and pumpkin spice latte which were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the two egg combo which comes with hashbrowns and toast. It was a generous portion and it was delicious. Pricing was also good considering the area and location. There is seating inside and outside. Seating inside is a little snug but it’s comfortable and enough space for the average person. We didn’t have a problem finding parking but then again we went during the week before 10 AM. I would definitely recommend and will be returning soon. once again, thank you to our server you were amazing and welcoming.

Yelp
The Baseline: For a breakfast/brunch cafe the food must be hearty/filling/satisfying for the early morning, there must be a mix of sweet and savory to fulfill that brunch/breakfast need, and service must be a welcoming start of your day experience. Food: Breakfast, brunch, and lunch is the food fare for Martha's and oh... it is delicious and satisfyingly good. My item was the Potato Frittata Skillet and is my favorite of the breakfast skillet/bowl/etc. preparations. Bacon... good... cheese...good...potatoes... good...eggs...good. Seriously it is breakfast Americana to the maximum breakfast brunch output. Also coffee. Standard drip coffee that wasn't burnt or acidic. Warm, robust and great with the table cream I was given. A solid cup of coffee and looking out at the Hermosa Beach and Pacific was an awesome way to see this new year. You also cannot go wrong with the breakfast burrito but I tend to like a beans option with Mexican food items which was not available and is the reason I passed on the Huevos Playa. The Bacon Mushroom Onion Tomato omelette was also pretty filling option as you will find with any of Martha's omelette options. The lighter side is the Kale Caesar salad which was a vibrant array of greens that paired well with grilled chicken (which was a tad on the dry side). The Tuna Melt was a good option as well but would not have been my sandwich choice, especially since there is a Montecristo on the menu. Overall there is a sizable menu that does almost everything well at Martha's. Service: We had the honor of having Emma as our waitress and she was charming, engaging, and kind. Kept all of our needs met (full water glasses) and checked on us at a due proper amount. The food came out in an efficient manner after we ordered and made for a good service experience. Ambiance: Breakfast/brunch/lunch at the beach. That is a Winner, Winner, Martha's dinner experience right there. Comfortable seating and well laid out tables with a lot of people watching opportunities. The restaurant itself is homey and well adorned to give you a seaside feel for the decor. This holds up to the beach dining experience you come here for.

Yelp
We've found our weekend go-to brunch spot in Hermosa. This place gets crazy busy during brunch hours, so definitely be prepared for about a 40-minute wait. That said, the ocean view makes the wait a little easier - it's right on the beach, and that alone adds to the experience. I ordered a horchata latte, and when it arrived, we were a bit surprised by how small it was for $7. The food itself was decent, especially considering how popular the restaurant is and its prime beachside location. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual, relaxing morning brunch in Hermosa - perfect if you're not in a rush and want to enjoy the ocean vibes.

Yelp
As good as ever! We were a large group. Everyone enjoyed their food. They have more gluten free options than the menu says. Remember to ask.

Yelp
Power house protein packed breakfast, went with the steak & Eggs bowl, while the steak and eggs were delicious what really stole the show was the potatoes, they were oozing with cheese and blended in nicely with the shredded potatoes. Would definitely recommend. Spanish latte was also very delicious. Service was quick and exceptional. Outside seating was very nice and relaxing.

Yelp
I am in love with Martha's! They use quality ingredients and you can tell. The OJ was fresh squeezed, my latte was bold and flavorful. The stuffed French toast was the best thing I've ever tasted in my life. The presentation was beautiful. I also loved their eggs benedict, again, very fresh. The kids menu was pretty basic, but at least it wasn't bad. They literally tasted like they were McDonald's hot cakes and sausage. They have a lot of seating, inside and out. Beautiful views of the beach and very personable staff to help out. My nephew is non-verbal and our server dealt with him with extreme care and he had a great time. We will be back!

Yelp
It's a very popular place. A lot of locals stroll up in pajamas. The breakfast food here was good but not worth waiting 45 minutes for a table. Staff is friendly. Unfortunately, won't be coming back anytime soon. It's lovely atmosphere.

Yelp
I could see why many would frequent this spot. It's literally right on the beach and very quaint and cute. I truly had high hopes coming here, but overall I didn't love the food or the experience. It was a bit chilly the morning we came and we sat outside, so we ordered two hot cocoas to warm us up. The waitress looked a bit confused when we ordered them, but took our order and about 10 minutes later another employee delivered what she called two Hot Mochas. I'm honestly not sure if the two are the same thing in California, but my partner doesn't drink coffee since he doesn't enjoy the way it makes him feel and when trying to double check if what we received was the hot cocoa - well we weren't met with much help. Just a rhetorical question of "did you order the hot cocoa? Yes? Well that's hot cocoa." Uhhh, okay - not sure why it tastes like coffee then and was called a hot mocha but I digress. I personally enjoyed the hot drink, but my partner did not. I really was interested in the stuffed French toast and was the main reason I came here. Well unfortunately the stuff French toast wasn't all that great.... I ended up liking my partners chorizo scramble more. Food is decent here, so it's not a bad choice. I most likely would pass on it next time though.

Yelp
Martha's been here for decades. Good luck if you think you can eat here on the weekend. I think what it is, is that it's half a block from the beach. I could see the sand from where I was sitting. I came during the week, in the morning. The metered parking is free before 10AM. There were plenty of tables available around 8AM. Gentleman who worked there said I could choose to sit at any empty table. Tables are close to one another. I ordered a latte with oat milk and an avocado toast. The problem with this place is that the food looks better than it tastes. There were fresh ingredients on my avocado toast, but nothing special. I don't understand why it's always so crowded when the food is average. By the way, there are fly deterrents on every table outdoors. There was a noticeable amount of flies flying around while I was eating. Service was good.

Yelp
Martha's is one of those beachside traditions. It has been around forever. The main thing you know about this restaurant is that it is very-very popular. Meaning, it is not uncommon that you're going to have to wait to get a seat at this restaurant. For that reason, I really suggest that you come either very early in the morning, during the week, or on the off-hours, if you hope to be seated right away. Because, there is often times a long wait to get a seat. In terms of what they offer for food, they really try. Though they really try, I am just not a fan of what they offer. Yes, they have a large amount of vegan items, as well as some very well prepared other dishes. But, though the meals are very well presented, I don't know, they just lack something? I've been coming to this restaurant on and off for decades. The menu has changed over the years, obviously. But, it has always remained a question in my mind, why this restaurant is so popular? I guess it's just due to its location. In terms of the overall service of the restaurant, the staff here tries their hardest. But, as stated, there's often times a lot of customers. From this, you may wait quite a while to be helped. Overall, Martha's is a Hermosa Beach tradition. It has been around forever. If you wanna grab a meal by the beach, this may be the place for you to go.

Yelp
We love Martha's. It's like a staple in Hermosa Beach. Friendly neighborhood restaurant with good food. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. Someone is always there to greet you with a smile and seat you fairly quickly (unless it's busy, usually weekends). We usually come for breakfast. I'm usually ordering the grain bowl because of all the fresh veggies, sweet potatoes, crunchy chickpeas, picked onions and eggs. Veggie havarti omelette is also good. They have a lot of veggies with havarti cheese to add that little saltiness. This time I decided to go for brunch because I wanted the curly fries. The grilled chicken sandwich was good. Curly fries were great and hit the spot.

Yelp
This place was sooooo delicious that I almost forgot to take any pics. I don't know why the white corn scramble is so yummy but I can see why it's a fan favorite. The burrito was equally amazing. We opted for a side of fresh berries that were fresh and sweet. we are from the Midwest and the fresh berries in December just hit different. Fun fact if you sit at the bar inside you don't need to wait for a table. We also tried the chai tea - perfect blend of spice and sweet and temperature. The mimosas were a nice touch too. Additionally, the service was quick and on point even for a busy Saturday morning. 10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Hermosa Beach.

Yelp
Nice brunch spot in Hermosa just a stone's throw away from the beach. The location is also why it's perpetually busy but the turnover is also quick so you don't really wait too long for a table. The menu is rather extensive but nothing outside of standard brunch offerings in most restaurants. Food was solid but the coffee is meh. Service could be a bit more attentive as well. In short, I'm not necessarily raving about this place but it's a good spot to have on your back pocket for a brunch option in the area.

Yelp
This place checks all the boxes for a great brunch spot. Good food, good local vibes, great location (right off The Strand/beach), and excellent service. We arrived around 8 AM on a Sunday morning, just two people, and had no trouble grabbing seats at the bar overlooking the patio. No wait at all. Perfect setting to catch up with a friend over brunch and some casual people-watching. The mimosa gave me just the right morning buzz, and the café latte hit the spot. The avocado toast was beautiful and felt substantial for the price. The Canadian bacon on the Benedict was delicious, too. No complaints. After 8 AM, it definitely starts getting busy, so expect a bit of a wait. Worth it.

Yelp
I've been coming to Martha's for years (since my college days and I'm retired now!), as it's a local favorite of mine. I can't believe I've never written a review after all these years. My go to items are the breakfast burritos, stuffed French toast and the BLTA. On my recent visit I had the grilled rosemary chicken sandwich. The sandwich is topped with avocado, Swiss cheese, tomato, mayo on a sesame seed bun. The sandwich was decent, but the bun seemed to be bordering on stale. I could tell as I took each bite since the bun wouldn't hold together and it was on the dry side. I probably should've stuck with the breakfast burrito on this visit. The location of Martha's couldn't be better as its steps away from the beach. There's a fairly large patio with tables for al fresco dining which is also dog friendly. Parking could be a challenge especially during the peak summer months. There's only street metered parking.

Yelp
Stopped by Martha's after visiting a project close by and it was the perfect mellow brunch spot with coastal vibes. First off, the location is killer--right off the strand with ocean breezes and that signature Hermosa chill. Loved the outdoor seating under the giant umbrellas and the retro-style signage that says "It's Always Hermosa in Hermosa"--accurate. My coworker ordered the Chipotle Corn Quesadilla from the specials menu, and it was surprisingly flavorful for something so simple. It came with sour cream, guac, and pico, and the roasted corn + cheese combo hit just right. I got the bagel with lox and cream cheese--nothing fancy but solid quality and generous with the salmon. Service was friendly and efficient even with the steady flow of customers. Menu's got everything from benedicts to burgers to lavender lattes--something for everyone. Definitely want to come back and try the huevos playa or the shrimp avocado omelet next time. If you're looking for a laid-back spot to fuel up post-surf or just brunch with beach views, Martha's is a win. Rating: 4.5/5 stars I'll be back! Enjoy and Bon Appetit.

Yelp
A friend and I decided to walk around the pier and asked for a brunch place that our hotel front desk would recommend...this place was high on their list. So glad we listened! The place was busy on a Monday morning, but we were seated right away. The menu offered so many options it was hard to decide what to pick. We were both happy with our meals and they were large and filling! If you are in the area looking for brunch I would also recommend this place!
google avatar

Reyna J.

Yelp
The chipotle corn quesadilla was amazing! It was so delicious, I didn't even get a chance to snap a pic, but it's a "must try". The tiramisu French toast was delicious especially complemented with the iced Spanish latte. On top of the amazing food, the service was great! Katie was very attentive, checked on us often and was friendly.

Yelp
Cinnamon roll pancake - OMG 100/10 First of all, this pancake alone will have you in a chokehold. It's soooooo good. The crispy caramelization of the sugar and the cinnamon around the edges is just Elite. They top it off with a little glaze over it that makes perfection. I believe her name was Katie--unless it's Kate, I'm not entirely sure. Management, please acknowledge this wonderful employee! She was such a delight, and her energy and enthusiasm made our brunch even better. Katie, you are the JAM! (Haha, inside joke.) Thank you for being awesome! She was just as thrilled to work there as we were to eat. The restaurant itself is a charming local favorite with an outdoor setting featuring patio umbrellas, just steps away from the beach. What more could you ask for? It's beautiful inside, with big windows that let in plenty of sunlight. This place tends to get packed on weekends, and parking can be tricky, so plan accordingly. Overall: 5 (Thank you Katie!) Service: 10 Food: 5 Items ordered: White corn scramble (vegetarian friendly) 10/10 Veggie omelette w/chicken sausage 10/10 Cinnamon roll pancake 100/10 Sourdough toast All the jams (haha) Cold brew Cold brew with cold foam A favorite, highly recommend will be back! Xoxo

Yelp
Place is pretty packed when I went. I went on a holiday in the morning. I got a breakfast burrito and a smoothie. The smoothie was larger than expected so that can fill you up (which is good). The breakfast burrito was alright, I've had better elsewhere. It was quite busy but service was also quite slow. The guy next to me waited for at least 20 mins before he could get his bill. I also got yelled at when I tried to fill my own water (which I wouldn't do if it didn't take forever) even though another waiter said I could fill it up myself. I probably won't be back based on that experience
google avatar

Kyla F.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this place! It was your typical breakfast menu, but with everything tasting freshly made and somehow just lighter and not as heavy which was amazing! The best thing by far about this place was the location. It was absolutely AMAZING! Right next to the water, right off the boardwalk in hermosa beach. Just great! The service was amazing too, super attentive and kind. I split the two eggs breakfast and got the sourdough, scrambled eggs, and hash brown, and it was a perfect portion size and so delicious! Loved it!

Yelp
Martha's was recommended by a friend who grew up in South Bay. It's a casual yet lively place known for brunch and it's on the beach so be prepared to wait especially if you go on a weekend. Not surprisingly it was packed on a beautiful Sunday morning and the line never stopped the entire time we were there. We were lucky enough to find a spot inside at the counter which is on a first come first serve basis. Despite being busy, the service was still pretty good. The menu has lots of great options for breakfast and lunch. Think East coast diner with a California flair. Very vegetarian friendly as well. I opted for a grain bowl - made with quinoa, greens, cucumber, tomato, and avocado. Added tofu and yes to the fried egg on top. My friend ordered an omelette with potatoes and we both had lattes. Extremely generous portions so come hungry or take the rest home. The food was excellent. I see why it's so busy and locally recommended.

Yelp
Came for Valentine's Day brunch, and the service was not good. For some reason, the server asked every party except us if we wanted to sit indoors or outdoors. Then we were led to a dirty table with a blueberry and some hashbrowns laying there. It should be the bare minimum to clean tables!! As for the food, stuffed french toast was really good and not super sweet. The eggs hermosa was nothing special - felt like it could be made at home. They just lightly toasted the english muffin, threw on a handful of raw spinach, put a sliced tomato with some salt, slightly fried the canadian bacon, and topped it off with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise sauce was very runny/watered down - not good. I asked for extra crispy hashbrowns, and it was yummy. Overall, I don't think I will come back.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant tucked away off 22nd Street in Hermosa. N Close to the beach and pathway for a nice walk after breakfast. Service was friendly, quick and most enjoyable Hermosa Egg Benedict's I've ever had. Hubby ordered Ham and Cheese smoker with Salsa and sour cream on the side. He really enjoyed his breakfast with a smile. They had a wide variety of dishes as well as a Gift Shop for merch right next door. Will be back soon to try more breakfast specialty dishes.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot! Kind service and good indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating has a decent view of the ocean waves also! There was a bit of a wait and the tables are a tad crowded, but overall great experience!
google avatar

Yelp
This adorable beachfront cafe has a beautiful view and a few standout items from its massive menu. Their sweet corn omelette was unique and tasty, and I liked their turkey club with curly fries (really, the curly fries). Nothing special, but the atmosphere is homey and staff are friendly.
google avatar

Adam C.

Yelp
Yummy place to grab some lunch with pretty outdoor seating! I got the roasted turkey on a croissant which was really good. Although if I was comparing this sandwich to the similar one I had at Cafe Bonaparte, I preferred the other one. The sandwich at Martha's tasted great but all the meat and lettuce was piled up right in the middle so when it comes out already cut in half, it felt like 85% of everything was piled up in the 3 or 4 bites in the middle and then most of the other parts of the sandwich didn't have much lettuce or turkey! The croissant used for sandwiches at Cafe Bonaparte was larger and softer and tasted fresher, and they piled up their meats and lettuce and other toppings in a more uniform fashion so every bite was filled with goodies. Both sandwiches were good but if I had to recommend a croissant lunch sandwich, absolutely go to Cafe Bonaparte. But I will say the curly fries here were SO GOOD. I loved them! Crunchy and delicious! Mom got the BLT and I had some of it and it was great. But gosh the sourdough bread was so thick, it was very filling for her. They layered quite a bit of bacon inside of it and the bacon also tasted fantastic. Overall this is still a great spot to stop in for breakfast or in our case lunch. But if you want the best croissant sandwich, I would recommend grabbing one from Cafe Bonaparte as the croissant they use are larger and softer and more airy and the everything in the sandwich is more evenly spread out.

Yelp
Classic breakfast spot with all the fan favorites. Eggs any style, pancakes, sandwiches, salads and curly fries! Not a lot of places serve curly fries. I'm always exited to find a place that serves them. Service is friendly and inviting. We came for lunch during the week. It was busy but no wait for a table. Weekends are expected to be busier. The patio has ocean views. I recommend strolling down to the beach after (or before). It's so beautiful.

Yelp
Have been coming to Martha's for years and finally writing a review! Love coming to Martha's they have stayed consistent through the years. Love eating outside and seeing the view of the ocean. This time around service was exceptional, the young lady was so nice to our kiddos! I ordered the scrambled chorizo, kiddos got a ham and egg omelette, husband ordered steak and eggs and my sister ordered the montecristo. We all enjoyed our food very much. And love a place that has good coffee options, husband had the Spanish latte, I had a cappuccino! Already planning our next visit!

Yelp
I've been Martha's for brunch a few times now and every time is a hit! Most recently I went on a Sunday for lunch around 1 PM. Despite it being very busy, it was only a 15 minute wait for 2 people. I got the Eggs California (pictured), and it was delicious! My friend got the Steak and Eggs bowls and said the steak was cooked perfectly! I also got the raspberry white mocha, I didn't really taste the raspberry, but honestly I didn't mind because it was great otherwise. Their outside seating also offers a nice view of the Strand and beach.

Yelp
Met friends here and they say Martha is the place. It was certainly crowded. We arrived at 9 AM. My dish (breakfast burrito) arrived last, almost ten minutes later than everyone else in my party so that was as a drag. Friends like their omelets and keto bowl. Pancakes are large. The staff is friendly and it's near the beach.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been driving by Martha's for YEARS and have yet to try it. I am so glad I finally did! The outside patio is incredibly pleasant with tons of shade and cool ocean breezes. I had the shrimp and arugula salad with grapefruit. I normally am not a fan of grapefruit but it was fantastic. Super nice wait staff as well. I did not stop into the merchant shop but next time will!

Yelp
If you are craving the best Breakfast Burrito you'll ever have, Martha's is the spot to visit! Today, I enjoyed a massive burrito filled with eggs, bacon, sausage, white cheddar cheese, havarti cheese, crispy potatoes, pico de gallo and guacamole served with salsa roja, salsa verde, and sour cream. This burrito was beyond amazing. The potatoes gave a crunchy vibe to this dish filled with all of my favorite things! We also enjoyed a refreshing Arnold Palmer rivaling some of the best we've had. The Eggs Benedict called Eggs California, was also a big hit, Two poached eggs sat a top an English muffin with Canadian bacon with Hollandaise. My husband deemed it, "Delicious!" The service (our server Ava was fantastic) was quick, friendly, and efficient and everyone made our doodle feel welcome! We sat on the outside patio which is very dog friendly. Martha's has definitely become our new favorite breakfast spot.

Yelp
We love Martha's in Hermosa Beach. It's a solid breakfast choice with great service next to the beach. Eggs Benedict florentine for me and perfect over easy eggs breakfast for my husband. Americanos were delicious and portions are nice. Nice large patio as well.

Yelp
I was so excited for our Valentine's Day Brunch at Martha's. It is a solid choice for brunch in Hermosa Beach, with great service and a welcoming atmosphere. On a breezy morning, we enjoyed sitting outside and the sun warmed us up. We split the Spanish latte, lobster benedict, and stuffed French toast. The lobster benedict was more of a tomato, spinach, and avocado benedict with a sprinkling of lobster. I think I accidentally ate all there was in the first few bites without realizing it so kept expecting to find more and never did. For the price, I expected more seafood flavor and actual lobster meat. It comes with some roasted potatoes and grilled veggies which is a nice side. The stuffed french toast was the star of the show - abundant fresh blueberries and strawberries with delicious bread and cream cheese stuffing. The Spanish latte was delicious, but unfortunately, it arrived with my food, so it cooled down before I could enjoy it. Ended up pouring it over ice for an impromptu iced latte to-go. Despite these small hiccups, the flavors were great, and the service was excellent. Just a little pricey for what you get, especially when ordering something with lobster. Still, a great spot if you're in the area!

Yelp
Good neighborhood brunch spot in Hermosa off the strand and away from the busy pier. Food and coffee drinks are always solid. My favorite item is the stuffed French toast with blueberries and strawberries. My boyfriend likes the chorizo scramble with sourdough bread. There's usually a wait, but on our most recent visit we only had to wait 5 minutes for a dog-friendly outside table.

Yelp
Sunday Labor Day weekend and we wanted Brunch close to the Beach. We checked a few of the area Beaches and Hermosa won. We expected a wait but it was a bit longer than we hoped at about 1-1/2 hour around noon. Martha's was hopping. We put our name in and somehow it ended up being about 45 minutes. Metered street parking and it took about 15 minutes to find a spot. We took first available and were seated outside-perfect weather. Started with a Mango Mimosa-first time and it was delicious. For Brunch, we ordered the Kale Caesar with Grilled Chicken-generous protein portion and tasty dressing. Chorizo Sweet Potato Hash-protein and veggie mash up with spicy Chorizo chunks, and Chicken Caesar Wrap. They have a small merchandise shop next door offering T-shirts, Hats, etc. Service was upbeat and engaged from beginning to end. Of course by the time we left around 1:30-no wait. Hermosa beach favorite since 1984 that lives up to the hype!

Yelp
Have been wanting to try this place for awhile and sadly didn't love my experience or food despite good recommendations. We came on a Saturday morning and waited about 20 minutes for a table which wasn't bad, however the table was seated in the sun which was really uncomfortable on a hot day. Servers took awhile to come over but they were quite busy and overwhelmed. I got the chicken Caesar salad wrap which was sadly not good. While I liked the chicken and tortilla, they missed the mark on this one. There was no Caesar dressing and the wrap was basically a few pieces of tomato, lettuce, Cheese and chicken, nothing like the usual tossed chicken Caesar salad that I would have expected. The chicken was also only on the first few bites, and once I bit further there was nothing but dry lettuce and chunks of tomato. It also had tons of liquid leaking on my hands on the bottom which was kinda bizarre. Overall would not get it again but would like to come back and try a different item as their other items seemed to be a hit.

Yelp
Came in on Labor Day at around 9am and it was already packed but the wait wasn't so bad. Girls in the front are kinda friendly but definitely need better customer service skills. The food was a 7/10 I got eggs, pancakes, bacon they were okay. My little brother got a breakfast plate too but with hash browns, sunny side up eggs and toast... and he found like 4 gray hairs on his food.. he actually felt them in his mouth.. very gross. I got a strawberry matcha, I did not like it. My daughter got the horchata latte and that one was pretty good. My boyfriend got the cafe latte and that one was okay. I really wanted to like this place, had been wanting to come here all summer. It's always packed, can't really understand why.. We left around 10 and it was even MORE packed... so if you want to try this place I recommend coming early in the morning. It's very busy and kinda loud. Not sure if I'll be back!

Yelp
Chill, popular local spot that's good for brunch. They don't take reservations so if you have a large party, I'd suggest coming here early. The outdoor seating isn't really shaded so I'd also suggest wearing a hat and sunglasses if you plan to sit outside. Had the white corn scramble (vegetarian friendly) and a matcha latte. The food was filling and came with your choice of bread. My boyfriend got the steak and eggs plate, and he finished his plate. They do accept credit cards. It is kid-friendly. Our waitress was friendly and very personable. I've heard other people recommend the breakfast burrito so if you're a fan of meat, then I would suggest trying that.

Yelp
Met girlfriends for a birthday breakfast and Jose was our server. He was wonderful. Took time with us as we had 10 in our party. Very attentive. Martha's is an iconic spot for locals and tourists as it's less than a block from the Pacific Ocean. The menu is expansive and the food is flavorful and always consistently good. We had the breakfast burrito which is always a great choice. Their egg Benedict's come with ham or salmon or veggies and the hollandaise sauce is the right texture and flavorful. Beautiful SO CA setting and a friendly happy vibe with all ages enjoying a meal by the ocean. A must if you haven't been there, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We went on a Sunday and it was pretty packed but we opted for the first available seating and got seated fast. It was a two person table with an extra chair pulled for a party of three but it was doable. It definitely gives that local hangout vibe. The food was a bit of a let down as it didn't have much flavor or the pancakes were pretty dry. It was nice since the beach was right there and we got to take a nice walk after along the beach pathway.

Yelp
I'm not coming back to Martha's anymore!!! Not ever... This restaurant is not as good as before. The taste of food is deteriorating. I don't know if the cook has changed or sub ingredients.

Yelp
BEST BRUNCH IN Hermosa. Local vibes, ocean views, neighborhood patio kind of place with something on the menu for everyone . It can get busy with long lines but you can stroll the beach while you wait or visit on a weekday for a better chance at quick service. As someone who has to eat gluten free, I love the steak and eggs bowl with cheesy hasbrowns :) 10/10 reccomend. The turkey croissant sandwich for the rest of the family is always a favorite for the kids with curly fries that look amazing

Yelp
Came at 10am on Sunday and this place is packed. That said, we didn't have to wait too long and it seems like they're very efficient at handling the crowd/ wait. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was pretty good (much better than a lot, but not top tier). Not enough places include crispy hash browns in breakfast burritos anymore so definitely appreciated that they used extra crispy potatoes in their burrito. My wife got the eggs/ hash browns and enjoyed her meal too + latte. Service was also decent, although I did need water at the end, but not a huge deal. All in all, a pretty solid meal for the price.

Yelp
Martha's is my favorite breakfast spot in the South Bay - your quintessential locals spot! Seemed a smidge disorganized with seating people as we were waiting in a line and then a few people got sat ahead of the line who had just walked up and had the same number in their party but we didn't have to wait more than a minute before we got sat as well. I got an omelette and chai and my friend got a breakfast burrito and both were delicious, served hot and we didn't have to wait long even though it was jam packed on a Sunday so props to their kitchen staff. Service was friendly and your feel good neighborhood vibe. Weekends are packed here so com early or be prepared to wait. You may also have to park a ways away and nearby street parking is metered unless you get lucky parking up in the homes (but watch out for the street signs). Their location is right along the strand so a great opportunity for a little beach walk after you eat or while you wait.

Yelp
Made a other quick little breakfast trip to Martha's , went just after 8 , was greeted nicely and sat down. The Menu is pretty solid and has options for everyone . Today I ordered the open face breakfast sandwhich and it was really really good. Literally every element was perfect the eggs were perfectly cheesy , the bacon crisp yet chewy... I added the salsa verde from my friends breakfast burrito and that was a delicious addition as well. Sitting down and enjoy such a perfect fall morning overlooking the beach was amazing I will be back. I dont remember any of the staffs name , but everyone was super attentive and amazing.
