I like the vibe and the selection of alcohol. Food is a bit of a miss. First visit I got the Cuban: it was served on the wrong bread vs what was on the menu and was a little light on the meat - multiple bites with little to no meat. Came back to try the pizza and it also was not for me.

Google
I have a love/hate type of relationship with this place. The food is good. Today I had the meatball sandwich and it was excellent. Others enjoy their pizza. We were there for a birthday, for which they don't do anything special. We had multiple appetizers that were really good. My issue is the noise! I couldn't hear the person two chairs down from me. My throat was sore from talking so loud. We go there with friends that like their pizza so I'm sure we will return.

Daniel Krivenko

Google
The staff was super helpful and friendly. The place was super busy but the waitress was able to get to us in a pretty timely manner. All the food was excellent. Will definitely be returning.

Google
Service was the highlight. Overall great atmosphere. Had live music the night we were there. We had pizza, salad, and a salmon BLT. It was average.

Christie Ramsey

Google
Isaiah waited on this and he was fabulous. Super nice. Super friendly and personable. We ordered a pizza. It came out super fast, hot and fresh. Not our style of pizza s but for that I would not give a bad rating. Love the atmosphere and the service. Will definitely come back for something different. Probably that awesome looking meatball sandwich.

Google
Happy to find a place near our home to enjoy a good pizza. It was our first time just me and my wife. Will bring the kids on another occasion. We had the tuna tartar as appetizer. It was good. The pizzas were awesome. I would just order a side of oregano next time. And more arugula please!! The best thing is the gluten free option which had a great taste and nothing to envy a normal wheat based crust. We had the Supremo Pizza and the Fig & Prosciutto. Totally recommended. See you again!

Google
Great pizza but it’d be nice if they wouldn’t add so much garlic. There was live music and the atmosphere was good, it’s in a nice new spot so that’s cool. They have a good selection of pizzas and other foods and you’re able to make custom pizzas.

Google
Monica and Kelsey are amazing! They are always smiling, fun to visit with, and happy to help in making choices of beer or food. Though we only had drinks today. The food is delicious! Love the pizza and stuffed bread sticks.

Yelp
The pizza is always good here. The have a good beer and cocktail selection. Salads are yummy. Nice staff. It can be a bit noisy.

Yelp
I've been to Martin City Pizza & Taproom before at the Mission Farms location. This time, we went to the Lenexa location. Inside of this place is big and modern. We had drinks, and a 16" pizza with half of the pizza with pepperoni and sausage, and the other half of Philly Cheesesteak Pizza. The food and drinks were good, and service was amazing. Will be back soon!

Yelp
Grabbed dinner here with my family. I had a yoga pants to drink, and it was delicious, of course. We got the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer and they were WAY overcooked. My brother described the texture as mashed potatoes. The best thing we had was the sausage and pepper pizza. It was flavorful and had the perfect crust. The breakfast pizza and the Philly cheesesteak Mac and cheese were both lacking in flavor. Finally, my brother did not receive his food until the rest of us were finished eating. The server never even apologized, although the manager did and comped his meal. I'd pick somewhere else next time in the area.

Yelp
Food service and ambiance on point. I didn't take a picture of our pizza. But, it was delicious as always!

Yelp
We came here on a Friday evening, and thankfully we had a reservation! It was busy with basketball games on. We ordered meatballs for the table appetizer which were tasty. I had the chicken Caesar wrap that came with a side of chips. The wrap was great! The chips were pretty basic but still good. The other guests at my table both ordered pizzas and really enjoyed them! I sampled a bite (of course) and the crust was delicious. The ranch was also it was that good restaurant ranch! Yum. Our waitress was average. That is my only reason for 4/5 stars. It seemed like she always asked us if we needed anything as she was walking away from the table...so that felt a little awkward. She also asked us if we wanted a refill of our drinks/water... which was also weird, considering our main dishes had just been served. The other servers seemed a lot more friendly, so maybe we just caught someone on a bad day!

Yelp
This is a happening spot in Lenexa's City Center. It's a lot larger than it looks. It's also real popular. Be prepared to wait at peak times, especially happy hour. I like the pizza, which is similar to the original Martin City location. They have their red sauce recipes, but the magic sits with the "Other Sauce" part of the menu. Barbacoa Pizza, Philly Cheesesteak Pizza, Chicken Al Pastor Pizza. You get the idea. My favorite is the Thai Chicken Pizza which somehow tastes better when its served with a Martin City Abbey Ale. Speaking of beer, they're all on tap and they're all fresh. Canned six packs are available to go.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
There is plenty of seating and I have not had to wait for a table of four both times I have been here. Staff is very helpful and friendly, will offer suggestions if you are having a problem deciding. There are plenty of TVs for your entertainment needs, but volume is kept when the noise is a a nice level and not over powering. Burgers and wraps are very flavorful and a good size for the price. My only complaint is I wish there were more options for food. Menu is front and back and most of the back is Pizza.

Yelp
I've been going to Martin City Brewery since they took over PizzaBella in Mission farms. Great pizza. Great wings, sammiches, happy hour specials alike. Today they added their Mac and Cheese varieties to the menu. Good Golly Ms Molly is it good, and very filling for the portion. Service good Ambiance is pure large bar area @ the Lenexa location (they have like 4 others too). BBQ Brisket Mac & Cheese Bbq sauce, brisket (cut into small easily masticated pieces), roasted yellow onions, roasted pepper medly, topped with onion straws. Add Jalapenos at no extra charge The pasta is well cooked, corkscrew macaroni, creamy white cheddar sauce And depending on your stomach size you may well have leftovers! I'll be back there or @ Mission Farms soon to sample the other mac and cheese varieties AND to taste their new Pizza varieties!!!

Yelp
I've been a couple times and the food is always good. Sandwiches are usually my go to's at the Lenexa location. The spicy chicken has been my favorite so far. The beers are all on tap and cold. I recommend making a reservation for dinner time regardless the night of the week. It has saved me wait time when showing up and the place is busy. The one star deduction relates only to the noise level. With a concrete floor and open ceiling, the room fills up with sound easily and you end up talking loudly to someone sitting 3 feet from you. But if you want to catch a game, this is the place to be. Several tv's scattered throughout the venue. No sound or cc on the tv's. Well, maybe there is but you can't hear it because everything else is so loud. :D

Yelp
We are in the area collecting beer stickers and needed dinner. This place was hopping! We ordered beer and claimed a spot at the bar when it freed up. My husband and I split the Cuban and a pizza; the Cuban was great, but have to wonder if the pizza crust is frozen. Overall, very tasty and a great place to watch sports. Friendly staff and changing tables in both restrooms!
google avatar

Jackson D.

Yelp
They have the best garlic cheesy bread in kc. Pizza and apps are also good. Great spot to grab a beer. I recommend the hard way IPA. Service is decent as well!

Jeff P.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed. Have always love MCB. Not sure what they did in Lenexa to the service but our waitress was terrible. She had an attitude and really thought she was better than everyone around here. You guys can and should do better. Beer is good though! Also the MBC club has fallen apart. Use to get buy one get one beers. Can't even log in any more. So sad!!

Yelp
Great location near Lenexa Public Market. Lots of parking. Nice open atmosphere. Inside and outside patio seating. Large screen TV to watch sporting events. Live music on certain nights. Full bar. Extensive menu. We ordered their 9 inch pizza with house salad. Pizza was great. Crust was not too thin or too thick. House salad made with fresh ingredients and in a nice portion size. Great music while we were eating. Server was attentive. I think you can even order beers to go as well. We arrived here for dinner before heading to Lenexa public Market for outdoor concert. Just minutes away. Oh and they have unisex restrooms here which you don't find too often.

Yelp
We arrived on Sunday after a long day of traveling. We were starving and wanted a drink but everything was closed! I didn't have high hopes for this place but it was fantastic! We started with wings to test the waters and ended up ordering 2 rounds and a chopped salad. We are moving to the area and this will be our go to!

Yelp
Great lunch special and happy hour. Pizza is really good and a nice patio. We have always had great service.

Yelp
I had been to Martin City Brewery twice (once at this location and once in mission farms area) and they were a fun time. Not because of the place itself, but because of the company I was with. We could have gone to McDonalds and had a great time...well, if McDonalds served beer. When you don't have friends to distract you, you have more time to concentrate on the things such as quality of food, service and price. I stopped by on a Saturday night and got a 8 inch pizza with three toppings and a beer. IT cost me $28 with tax and tip. I will say this, the experience is much different if you are alone, than if you are with a group of friends. The atmosphere is a mix of older people and families, making it more of a restaurant than a bar like setting. The bar was about 60% full but the restaurant was completely full. First, the service was mediocre at best. It was the bare minimum, a short greeting, a taking of order and then no followup until they asked me if I wanted the bill. I noticed it was the same across the board. Even a customer, who sat next to me, who seemed to know the bartenders didn't get much better service. When you share less than 30 words with your bartender and about 15 seconds of face time, you're not going to be impressed with the service. Secondly, the pizza was not good. It is a thin crust pizza that had no flavor other than being very hot. When your main flavor is adding red-chili flakes, it's going to be a problem. It also had the look of a frozen pizza, there was no char on the crust, the tomato sauce was flavorless, the toppings were fresh but nothing to write home about. The biggest disappointment, other than the frozen pizza quality crust, was the prosciutto I ordered. A good prosciutto should have a fatty, salty taste to it. Here is tasted just any other meat. I could have forgiven it if it was reasonably price, but this 8 inch pizza was $15! It looked slightly better than a $2 Walmart Great Value personal pizza. Even at 8 inches, I could only eat half of it. I am really hoping that the pizza tastes better cold, cause it is sitting in my fridge as I write this. The one thing that kept this at 2 stars is their beer. I like their beer and often order it in other local bars when available. I should have paid $7 for the pint and popped in that frozen 'za I had purchased from Trader Joe's earlier in the day. It looked like people who came with their SO, family or friends were having a good time, mainly because they were with people they wanted to hang out with. Me, I'll come again if my friends drag me here, but I won't come back alone.

Yelp
Great lunch deal! Caesar or Side salad with an 8 inch specialty pizza for $11. It was more than I could eat for lunch! Salad ingredients were fresh. Pizza ingredients were good quality. Our service was prompt and attentive. She kept our tea glasses full.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Ordered take away for lunch. The personal pan combo pizza was perfect. Even nicer was the $ 2 added side garden salad - super fresh ingredients with artisan mixed lettuce. Even hand sliced parm from a block - really elevated the side salad. My new go-to!

Vera S.

Yelp
Food was delicious and the patio was great. Beer is consistently fantastic and there's always a wide variety.
google avatar

Craig L.

Yelp
The carne pizza is pretty good. Good medium crust. Slightly smokey meats. Good flavors. I didn't care for the wild mushroom. I was hoping for more mushrooms. They were nearly undetectable. The mac & cheese was pretty much missing the cheese. Dry mac. Crem brule cheesecake is interesting. Pretty good stuff there.

Yelp
Weird, middle of the road experience. I definitely enjoy the original location so much more. The beer selections at Lenexa City Center were not desirable and the bartender that I got "stuck" with was not friendly. Sad for her considering she's working in a service industry and banks of tips. I'm an amazing tipper, to the point I will tip 100% match of my bill but I will never remind someone how to do their job, be friendly, etc. The other female bartender stepped in to help me at one point and I expressed my frustration. She was apologetic but then proceeded to make excuses for her, "she takes time to warm up to people." ‍ Food- I order Brussels, a meatball slider, and Bruschetta. I got it to go due to lack of desire to deal with the current atmosphere at the bar. The Bruschetta was the star of the show! Meatball slider had great flavor with a slight heat at the end and the Brussel Sprouts were good but not my favorite due to a soggy texture instead of balanced with crispy.

Yelp
Visited Martin City Pizza and Taproom for happy hour and it did not disappoint. The service, drinks and food were all excellent! Great patio- sits in a lovely section of Lenexa. We will be back!

Yelp
Honestly surprised by the not so fabulous reviews because my husband and I came here for the first time the other night and we couldn't believe how awesome it was! First off, the SERVICE WAS AMAZING! I feel like nowadays, service kind of sucks anywhere you go. Our waitress Jessica was on top of it. She was always checking on us and always made sure our drinks were topped off. We each started off with salads. My husband got the Caesar salad and I got the house salad with the feta vinaigrette. These salads were a really great size, too! My husband kept saying how it was one of his favorite caesars he's had in a long time! So, salads got a 10/10 from us! For entrees, we both decided to try the pizzas! I got the fig + prosciutto and my husband got the mushroom pizza and added prosciutto. Wowwwwww, SO GOOD. I think my favorite thing that they did on our pizza is cut up in little pieces so you get some in every bite rather than taking your first bite and it all comes off. We can't wait to come back and glad its so close to home!

Yelp
We were excited to visit this newly opened Martin City location! We started with the Bavarian pretzels and bruschetta - so good! The IPA mustard for the pretzels was my absolute favorite, and the bruschetta was very fresh tasting with generous toppings. Across our group, we tried the Philly Cheesesteak pizza, Thai Chicken, and Aloha. It was all delicious. I'm a huge fan of "thinner" crust pizza, and I felt like this was the perfect balance of crust and carbs - not too bready, not too crispy. While all the pizza was great, my favorite was the Thai Chicken. The peanut sauce was INSANELY good guys - it's a must try! Looking forward to going back - but a note to other visitors: it is LOUD inside. To be fair, we visited on a Saturday night with beautiful weather, so it was really busy... but our group was nearly yelling to hear each other. Probably not the noise level you'd want for a first date or catch up dinner with a friend.

Yelp
Beer is always good and it's also great they serve other cocktails for non- beer drinkers. Food is really just OK. Wings are good, pizza is good, salads are fresh. The dining area itself is WAY too loud and this can be remediated by rugs, window coverings or wall art made to absorb sound. I hope this can be addressed, otherwise we will just drive to Leawood or go elsewhere.
google avatar

Kevin H.

Yelp
I understand it was grand opening But my martinis were "room temperature" and the pizza was shit My friend had the cheesy bread I had the sausage pizza And my friend had the pepperoni GARBAGE Even the pizza sauce tasted watery

Janet H.

Yelp
Omgosh we love this place!! The food and the service people are amazing!!! The feel of the place is just right and we always leave full.
google avatar

Kalyn A.

Yelp
Great pizzas and great beer! Make sure to come during happy hour to take advantage of the delicious deals! There is plenty space for large groups both indoors and outside on the patio.

Alex C.

Yelp
I have come here a few times with friends just for drinks and apps and would recommend. The only thing is that it can be a little noisy but if you don't mind that then you will enjoy! Service is usually pretty solid as well.

Yelp
Having had take out a few times, we finally decided to dine in! We came during a KU basketball game, and had made reservations, but being a weird time between lunch and dinner, we probably didn't need them. Reading previous reviews about the service, I can safely say that we had a wonderful experience! Our first server was Abby, she was friendly and checked in frequently, kept our waters full, and made sure to check in regarding our beers and when we wanted to order food (we opted to start with apps and then got a pizza at the half!). She had to clock out part way through, and the gal that took over after her was equally great. I feel terrible I don't remember her name, but she helped me decide on a drink. We all started with beers - between our table we had the Abbey Ale, the Blonde, the Per Diem, a stout, and the hardway IPA. I can't speak to them all, but the per diem was good! I would have loved a few more sour or lighter options (not an IPA gal) but I was able to find something. I was between a margarita and smoked paloma for a cocktail, and our waitress suggested the paloma because it was unique whereas the marg was pretty standard. It ended up being delicious (good, smoky flavor). The pretzel sticks are a must - so warm, so soft, and they pair well with the cheese sauce. We ended up getting a second order because they went so fast. We also had some brussels - they aren't super crispy but they pair well with the bacon and the dijon sauce is a unique twist. Our table cleaned the plate. We ended up building a small pizza as well. We had meatball, ricotta, and bruschetta mix. Our only complaint is that we wished it had a little more of the bruschetta mix -- and maybe next time we just ask for extra or double of that topping! Having not had it before, we didn't know what or how much to expect. Again, we had a good experience service wise! That said, we didn't sit at the bar or ever go up to the bar, but the two gals taking care of our table were great.

Yelp
Great lunch! Chicken pesto sandwich so good- with old fashioned crispy potato chips. Plus the pretzels were yummy too.
google avatar

BarleeBear ..

Yelp
I have been to this location several times and have had a nice experience each time! I always recommend getting pretzels - they are some of the best I've had!! The pizza is excellent with MANY great, almost gourmet, options that make me want to come back and try them all. I got this openface meatball sub and while it was okay it was quite a lot going on..definitely get the pizza and pretzels while watching all the big games!
google avatar

M M.

Yelp
Our server must have been new as we didn't seem to be a high priority to him. We placed our orders for drinks and food at the same time, ordering the pretzel appetizer and the Supremo pizza. A few minutes later our pretzels arrived, but still no drinks. We had to remind him what drinks we had ordered. Not once throughout dinner did he return to see if we needed refills (we did). Positive: The pretzels we soft, buttery and salty. They came with a small cup of beer cheese and a smaller cup of spicy mustard. The beer cheese was okay and the mustard was horseradish spicy. Their outdoor seating area is very nice. Negative: The Supremo pizza (Pepperoni, italian sausage, onions, roasted red peppers, mushrooms and black olives). The crust was dry and the toppings were very weak on flavor. I don't see how a pizza with all those toppings could have so little flavor. I doubt we'll be visiting Martin City again.
google avatar

Alix A.

Yelp
I don't really have an update per se, but it sounds like they have since added acoustic panels, so perhaps the volume is better.
google avatar

Chad K.

Yelp
Excellent pizza with a nice doughy crust. Beer was exceptional. Service was very good. I recommend the donut stout and Hard Way IPA. Also a nice bar with plenty of liquor and TVs everywhere, so it's a good place to watch sports.
google avatar

MaryLou F.

Yelp
WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Host staff was good. Bartender was the worst ever. And it wasn't even busy. She did not even make eye contact nor really wanted to take our order. I had to call her three times to get a drink. Then we moved our seating to outside and no one came to take our drink order. Seriously?! Definitely will not ever come back nor will I recommend this place to any of my friends. Btw..Chesney was the only person that was helpful.

Yelp
Martin City seems to be always a staple when visiting KC great food and beer all the way around

Yelp
YAY YAY YAY! IT'S FINALLY HERE! I am so excited to have a Martin City restaurant in Lenexa. I have been there twice in the last week and had two very different experiences. On my first visit I had a fantastic waiter. It was his first day "on the floor" which was shocking because he was one of the best servers I have ever had. My husband and I ordered a fig and prosciutto pizza and a Cobb salad to share. All was just amazing. The beer was great, and the food was delish. On our second visit we sat at the bar, ordered a beer, and got carryout. We ordered the exact same pizza and salad because both were so good the first time. On this visit however, the bartenders largely ignored us. When we were acknowledged we seemed like a burden. Customer service at the bar was not friendly at all sadly. When we got the food home the pizza tasted totally different. It seemed like they put less ingredients on it than we had on our first pizza. Still good, but not great. Like any new restaurant they may have a learning curve, but we will definitely be back. The restaurant is lovely and once the kinks are worked out I know this will be one of our new favorite spots.
google avatar

Tory A.

Yelp
Went Saturday for Lunch and had the best Thai chicken pizza and an on tap cocktail- harvest sangria. The atmosphere was family friendly, adult friendly, and very nice. The place was very open and we had excellent service. Will be going back again.
google avatar

Phillip L.

Yelp
Really great addition to the Lenexa city center area. A nice open dining area greets guests plus they have a good seating selection on their patio. They offer all of their great beers here that are some of my favorite local ones. On their food options I tend to lean towards their pizzas. My last trip here I had the chicken pesto sandwich and the chicken was a little dry. Not terribly dry, but a little. I still greatly enjoyed my meal and beers while here. Will definitely make it a frequent spot

Caleb D.

Yelp
Right down the street from me and this place is amazing... can't recommend it enough.. can't go wrong
google avatar

Laurel S.

Yelp
Love having this so close to home. Came during happy hour and sat on the patio. I wish the patio had some shade in the evening. There are umbrellas but they are irrelevant due to their placement. I think they need to add some of those sail awnings to make this more comfortable in the summer. Luckily it was an awesome breezy day and the full sun was fine. Had a couple of their happy hour $4 beers, the double berry sour, and they were yummy, not too sour. We shared the pretzels. They were fine but not the best I've ever had. Will try a different app next time. I ordered the apple in italy pizza and it was really good, very unique, loved the combination of flavors.

Yelp
The waiters and waitresses are fantastic. They're fantastic people and really make you feel worth their time. Food is solid and so are the drinks. The I've seen and met the owner a couple times as well. Really awesome to see an owner actually working at his business. However. Two women at bar staff are another story. Only two. I was debating about posting a review and mentioning them but after talking to a few other people and told them my experience, I'm not the only one to have had issues with two women who work there. One has brown hair with highlights and one is brown hair and heavier set. Best way to describe them is cold and unwelcoming. That you're an inconvenience and they don't want you there. (Not just my words). Apparently they've taken issue for a while now that when a friend and I go occasionally for a beer or two, he pays he sometimes doesn't tip them much and sometimes not at all due to poor service and again cold and unwelcoming attitude. So yesterday we were ignored for 10-15 minutes to the point other people noticed. When brunette with highlights came over she told us "we don't work for free and you'll be last". Making a scene. Everyone else had already been served at that point but still didn't take our order. Talked to the manager and while as someone who also works in the service industry and appreciates tips, I applaud her for being there for her workers. However, allowing and backing up that behavior is just letting petty and hostile behavior without communication is not the way to go. "We don't work for free" clearly shows she'd been stewing for a minute. Since their website shows they pay 15$ an hour we didn't realize it was such a big deal. Instead of asking why we haven't been tips or maybe realize if you treat us like crap even more we will be tipping even less, she went to high school level behavior of unprofessionalism. Again. We're not the only ones who've had issues. Rest of the staff while can be slow depending on the day are welcoming and don't treat you like an inconvenience. If you're that reliant on your tips communicate that and be someone worth tipping. Side note. Heads up, this place tracks who tips and how much.

Yelp
This place truly deserves a better rating. It's got the best patio/staff and the food is always a solid 10/10!
google avatar

Yelp
Great addition to the area! We got the Italian and Cuban Sandwiches. Will be back for Za soon! For sure going to make a positive impact to Lenexa City Center!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this new location in Lenexa. Very laid back concept with a high end look. Definitely an elevated appearance. I've been here a few times now and the hosts never seem to be happy with what they're doing and neglect waiting guests. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of having them. But that's an easy thing to train up on. Otherwise, the food was pretty tasty. I'd probably stick with just getting pizza option since that is their specialty.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome service, great bartenders & a ton of excellent Martin City brews on tap! Don't miss "happy hour" 3-6 PM Monday-Friday!

Kelsey was absolutely freaking amazing. Every time I go (multiple times a week) she goes above and beyond as a bar tender. She is friendly, attentive and professional in all aspects. Highly recommend both Martin City and Kelsey.

Yelp
This place has terrible service at the front hostess. Whatever time they tell you, add at least a half hour. They will sit people that come in after you. They have no knowledge of how to run their system. When you check to see where you're at in line when it's well over your time, they say you're next. Then they sit multiple people after that while they look at you. Anything more than a 30 minute wait is not worth their food or beer. Go somewhere else.
