Came for a midweek dinner. It was nice because it was quiet and we were able to enjoy a nice meal out on the water with a pretty view. Food is reasonably priced and servings size are plenty. We ordered chicken and steak entree but the Mac and cheese app was probably our favorite.

Google
This is a nice river view restaurant with good food! We had an amazing lunch here. We ordered the cozy autumn soup, crab cake sandwich, lobster roll, and burger. The soup was surprisingly good, and the crab cake sandwich was the best I’ve ever had. The lobster roll was just okay, but everything else made up for it. It was a great experience overall, but one thing to note is that they don’t have cups for kids. They serve water in glass jars, which isn’t ideal for little ones. Still, we enjoyed our visit and would recommend it for the food and the lovely view.

Great service. Awesome food. Great place to celebrate an occasion. Amazing river view and river side tables. Loved grilled octopus. Great and helping staff. Accommodate special requests. One of kind place to be in New Hope area. Must visit.

March. Monday dinner reservation. Welcomed at the door and shown to a table with a river view. Great wait staff. Food was superb! Delicious and abundant. Great selection of wines by the glass. This restaurant was recommended by our B&B host. Would highly recommend to my friends and would go again whenever I am in town. Really enjoyed ourselves.

Google
Brussel sprouts and crab cakes for appetizers were phenomenal! Drinks that we got were a pear margarita and a jalapeno margarita. For dinner we both had a taco special with three tacos and rice and beans. Karen was a spectacular waitress and was very accommodating. The restaurant was super quiet tonight and we had the outdoor seating to ourselves.

Google
We had a pleasant experience at this establishment. Servers are nice and the service is fast. However, their French fries are just terrible (too oily, skinny, and overcooked). When I was asked if they can change it, the server said “no”. On top of that they charge $3 extra dollars for these fries, which I find odd.

Google
I had an amazing experience at RiverHouse yesterday! The food was outstanding — I had a juicy burger with perfectly crispy fries, and the appetizers were a great start to the meal. The cocktails were top-notch too — I had a few, and they were expertly made with fresh ingredients. The bartender was incredibly helpful and friendly, offering great recommendations and making sure my drinks were just right. On top of that, the service overall was excellent. The staff was attentive and made sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a night out. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy great food, drinks, and a fun vibe. I’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
Absolutely warm reception upon entry! Karen was our wonderful server. We ordered magnificent berry mock tails . So delicious and fresh and colorful. Two fresh salads . So flavorful and delicious. I am crazy about the dressing. My BFF ordered the seabass and I ordered the grilled salmon . Our food was very delicious and colorful and so wonderful. Their restaurant is located right along the Delaware river overlooking Lambertville, New Jersey. And that charming Green Bridge. I had a wonderful time and I look forward to coming back!!

Yelp
Meh, Meh, and more Meh! We stopped in recently to grab an app and a drink, but kinda wish we hadn't. Upon entering the bartender was kind of b*tch and very unwelcoming. We told her we were just going to have an app and a drink and we wanted to be seated outside. Tons of attitude! So we walked outside with a waiter and found a spot to be seated by the railing. The outside sitting area by the river is why this place gets one star. It's a nice view of the river and Lambertville. We ordered: - Deviled eggs(Three half eggs with paprika and a couple capers for $6 ummm where is the other half of the second egg? Saving money?) Hilarious!!! - Hand cut fries(Tasted like McDonald's fries to be honest but not as good and basically a medium for $8) lol - I got an IPA that was on tap but I have no clue what it was because my waiter didn't tell me because he had the personality of 14 whose parents didn't give him enough love and he moved to New Hope in hope of a better life My gf didn't order a drink because she was put off by the whole vibe of this place. Blah! There isn't much to say about this place except, NO! I won't be back for any reason! The end!

Yelp
This place has such a nice view right on the river and very good service. The food was good and portions were decent. It is a bit pricey but worth it for the ambiance.

Yelp
The food is always excellent. The atmosphere and wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Some bar tenders are better than others, but there for the food, not drinks.

Yelp
We arrived here when it opened at 1130 on the Labor Day holiday, despite not having a reservation we were lucky enough to get an outside table by the railing. It was a gorgeous day with beautiful views of the river. Food was awesome! We started with Hummus, and the mussels. The mussels were in a Thai curry broth which I could have eaten as soup alone it was so good! It had just amount of heat, seasoned perfectly! The hummus served with pita bread and was satisfying. We each had a lobster roll. It came in a toasted bun, the salad had crunchy onion and celery and radish garnish, we enjoyed it immensely. The house made chips were some of the best we ever had. Our server Karen was very nice, overall it was a beautiful day, and delicious meal. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Martines, such a nice spot in the beautiful town of New Hope. The deck outback sits right on the Delaware River with a great view of Lambertville and the ducks. We started our meal with the Mussels in a coconut milk Thai sauce. They were fabulous. Entrée was a delicious crab cake sandwich. Our server, Lex, was very attentive and helped us navigate the menu with great suggestions. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We picked this restaurant bc it's on the river with a beautiful view. The menus looked good, not really somewhere to bring babies. No changing table and there is a sign that says no strollers, although they allowed us to fold it up and put it in a corner. The waitress Tonya was an outstanding women. We really liked her. The food was delicious, I was sad because they had sold out of the short ribs which I wanted badly. But me and my bro has the French chicken. My sisternlaw had the filet. Only thing that had no flavor was the Mac and cheese unfortunately but otherwise even the drinks were wonderful

Yelp
I really enjoyed sitting on the water. It was such a nice day. The water was calm and the ducks were swimming by. Our server was kind and the appetizers were tasty. A little on the pricey side. $20 for 4 shrimp. But they were big! The bistro steak was a bavette cut which isn't my favorite but it was still flavorful. The fries could've used a little something, but my mom loved them so to each their own! I wish the creme brulee was brûléed a bit more but that might just be a me thing. Overall very good!

Katie K.

Yelp
The best burger I have ever eaten in my life! Fries were also to die for. Very pleasant and helpful service from John- he is always the best! Highly recommend eating out on the deck, beautiful view of the river.

Valerie M.

Yelp
Charcuterie plate was VERY disappointing. More like a random sampling of unrelated ingredients that didn't belong on the same plate. Unpleasant bland crackers and tired grapes included. Some ingredients belonged on a pizza, not a cheese and meat plate. $28? View was great and the service was good. My companion had a very meager salad. Total bill with tip (for lunch), no drinks a whopping $72.

Dorina N.

Yelp
The drinks here are not very good, although they look good when it's served. The chicken entrée was very dry and the scallops were very small. My Keylime pie not anything like Keylime. The cheesecake was good. The crabcake appetizer was nasty. The Shishito peppers was good. The Burrata was OK.
google avatar

Yelp
Smallest amount of tuna on the Tuna salad i have ever seen, the cook use a razor to cut it as small as possible. Bummer. My date order the scallops were tasty but there was something unappealing in the corn relish that reminded me of paste. The drinks we good, the view is perfect. I haven't dined here in several years, it will be several years till i return.

Yelp
5 stars for ambiance (sat right next to the river and watched the ducks & geese), and food quality. The ceviche and friend green tomatoes were awesome. However, cost was too high for marginal drinks ($15 for sangria) and apps. The apps were the perfect size but quite pricey. While the atmosphere was pretty and the server nice, there was a weird vibe when we entered. The host went to seat us and the bartender yelled over the bar to him that the 2 women she was speaking to were "here first and were waiting for a table." He sat us first which was nice. For the record, those 2 women entered right in front of us and went right to the bar area to talk to the bartender. The host came around the corner and only saw us and sat us. Moral of the story, bartenders should be nice and friendly to patrons AND fellow staff. It just set a poor tone. I guess $78 for 2 drinks and 2 apps is normal here. Won't be returning as there are MANY restaurants in the area to choose from.

Yelp
This scallops special tasted as good as it looked. The scallops were cooked perfectly (nice sear on the outside but still translucent in the middle), and the Mediterranean couscous/veggies underneath added great flavor. We also ordered the shishito peppers as a starter - perfect for sharing! The restaurant also has a decent wine list and a couple of award winning cocktails. My only complaint is that there is a huge atmosphere discrepancy between eating outside by the water vs inside on paper tablecloths. Even though you can request a table outside when you make a reservation, the restaurant doesn't honor that & keeps those tables as first come first serve - just a heads up! The local art around the walls inside helps the decor a bit, but the inside atmosphere needs some more attention to compare to how outside looked. Overall, the food is what stands out at this restaurant. Food: B+ Drinks: B Service: C Atmosphere: C

Yelp
My wife and I were visiting new hope, PA from Ohio and decided to do a cocktail and light lunch and picked Martine's ... we sat outside by river. We had unpleasant service experience with our waiter who was unhappy that we were not ordering everything on the menu ... bit kf Unpleasant experience. Food was ok...

Yelp
Food was tasty , service was good , loved the river view and out door seating , looking at water n ducks were very relaxing, weather was beautiful , after walked around looking at stores , very nice day with my daughter

Yelp
This restaurant is small and very cute located with a view of the river, it can get noisy but would recommend it for a date night. The service was good the waiter were very attentive and always came to check up on our table. The appetizers were good we ordered the Thai Curry Mussels which had this beautiful broth at the bottom of the bowl but not enough bread to dip with. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes with shrimp and bacon, that was probably my favorite the tomatoes was crunchy and the shrimp was nice and plumped with an aioli underneath. The Brussel sprouts were well seasoned and perfectly crispy without the greasiness. The mushroom ravioli came with 5 large ravioli and had a delicious cream sauce. The scallops with cauliflower spinach and a beet purée was a winner for me the combination of all the ingredients kept you wanting more. The desserts ordered were a peach "tres leche" which I was not impressed by as the cake had no milk just a whipped filling so the name of the dessert should be changed and the crème brûlée which also lacked on the brûlée and flavor wasn't there for me.

Yelp
This is my second visit to Martine's in the past year and both times I really enjoyed the views of the Delaware River and the New Hope-Lambertsville Bridge out on their deck. We arrived right around their opening time and were seated at a table quickly. The first time I visited last year we had about a 20 minute wait to be seated. Great cocktails. With a great variety of unique craft drinks to choose from, we felt encouraged to order drinks that we may not have normally considered. FYI: They serve Barr Hill products (local distillery in VT). The Barr Hill Tomcat is a barrel aged gin. It tastes woody like whisky, not like a gin. Excellent: Burger - Great. The kitchen didn't have jalapeños to spare as I prefer on my burger. It was a little overcooked but I still really enjoyed it. Fries were great also, very fried. Shrimp Po'Boy - I ordered this last time. Awesome dish. Ask for extra sauce. Service from Erin. Totally awesome, attentive and offered us great menu recommendations! Views - Great deck and indoor seating room with views of the river. Great: Cocktails and beverage menu variety. I like Chartreuse which they didn't have in during this visit, but I enjoyed the Jaybird cocktail which was very refreshing out in the heat. Skip: Mac and Cheese. It's good for kids as a "Pasta & Butter" dish. The cheese sauce didn't have much flavor and it was very buttery. Breadcrumbs lacked seasoning/flavor for me but this could be someone else's favorite Mac and cheese! Definitely will be back, thanks for the great food and service!

Yelp
This place is tucked away; you have to know it's there. We were taken there by friends on a chilly but sunny Sunday afternoon and had a really good lunch! Probably wouldn't have found it on our own, but it was obvious that plenty of people know about it! The menu isn't extensive, but it covers the basics. I enjoyed the mussels, plump and delicious, served in a good Thai coconut curry broth that I ultimately drank up (after soaking the two slices of toasted Italian bread that came with) rather than asking for a spoon. H. had the chicken sandwich that was large and served with a salad; for a refreshing change, this restaurant has an upcharge for fries, and salad is the standard side. Great idea! Our friends shared the butternut squash soup and a huge sandwich. My husband had a huge sandwich too. Food was very good, service good too. The place was absolutely slammed at lunchtime! Make a reservation (if they take them, I don't know), but also worth the wait if you have to.

Yelp
The view is 5 stars unfortunately the food is only 3. We stopped in for lunch and both dishes were underwhelming. We ordered the salmon entree and burger. Salmon was good but i did not care for the fried rice side dish. Burger was overcooked and the side salad was soggy. No complaints about the service that was on point and staff was friendly. I just thought with a view so spectacular the food should measure up.

Yelp
Bartenders create way too much drama. Food mediocre at best- Do not recommend. many other fun places to visit in NewHope

Braden S.

Yelp
First off, you can't beat the ambiance sitting right next to the river watching the sunset. Secondly, the service, food, and drinks were fantastic. Our server had great suggestions and knew the perfect wine pairings to go with. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through!
google avatar

Gwen S.

Yelp
My boss recommended this place to us because he goes here frequently. He said it had a great view and good food. Both are absolutely true. We split the fried green tomatoes (it's really big and served with shrimp and bacon). My coworker had the risotto with shrimp, I had the NY strip. We split a con leche cake for dessert. All was great, but I would have been happy with the green tomatoes and maybe a side salad. My only complaint with this restaurant is this: we were dressed in yoga pants and shorts, and I felt like based on how we were dressed we were put in a corner table next to the waitress stand instead of near the windows and view (where there were several tables open), even after I asked for a view. So I guess dress nicely because they do judge here.

Yelp
Never had the food, but the drinks are always amazing. And the staff is always fantastic. Charming bar

Yelp
AVOID!! RUDE, CATTY & UNPROFESSIONAL! I came to New Hope with friends, for a weekend trip to celebrate my Birthday. We came here for lunch, the place was dead (that should have been a sign)..the female host asked if we had reservations, no, but it was EMPTY, you'd think they'd be happy to have ANYONE come in & give them business. She also had an attitude about it. Two catty servers looked at us up & down and looked away (it was a bit of a high school moment, ridiculous) they didn't acknowledge us for 20 mins! This one woman comes in they seat her and 2 of the same servers who were catty, both went up to her to ask her if she wanted to start with drinks and apps. What are WE, chop liver?!? We ended up leaving! So UNACCEPTABLE! We've never experienced such sh*tty service! There's no explanation as to why they didn't acknowledge us at all and made us wait, plus when we left we walked right past the host & servers and they didn't even ask us why we're leaving. They said nothing at all , so they obviously didn't want to serve us for some reason. We ended up going to another place & spent $300 between the 3 of us & had a much better experience else where! I am a writer for a travel blog & have a popular travel instagram profile, where going to places is part of my job because I recommend and promote businesses well this will definitely be written about & not in a good way! They need to get their act together and take a few courses in customer service!

Yelp
2.5 Nothing like a cold drink on a hot day with a few crispy, crunchy French fries to make the day even better after Walking around new hope going in and out of the stores and trying to avoid the mass of people. I didn't try the mussels but I was told they were of nice size and in a great sauce;however, the dish should have be a lower bowl to allow better access to the sauce. The bartender could also have been more friendly
google avatar

Michele J.

Yelp
Spent our anniversary dinner (10/9) here with some friends. I picked this place for the view, however, it was too cold so we opt for inside. With that said the inside was ahh but the food is more important in which they did not miss the mark. From the hostest to our sever was great - friendly, knowledgeable and polite. We ordered champagne and some cocktails which were cold, strong and good! Our appetizer and entrees: scallops, steak and salmon. Everything was good. I would only come again for the view.
google avatar

Rob L.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped here to get a drink before the show next door. We intended to just get drinks, but decided to share a sandwich. We got hit with a $3 SHARING fee which was not mentioned prior to ordering. Never heard of such a charge. My daughter, who is a server/bartender in a classy nightclub in Ohio, thought that was ridiculous. Be forewarned.

Yelp
What a gem! I am glad we walked up on this restaurant. The location is beautiful! It's right on the river. The dining area is comfortable enough for a date or for a group. The server was great. She checked on us often. The food was really good! I love fried green tomatoes, and their version was great. My entree was very good. I really liked the shrimp. There were mushrooms, asparagus, Brussels sprouts included. It was all very good. I did not try the steak but my coworker loved it. Great meal! Come check them out!!

Yelp
Having never been to New Hope before, I was excited to try any restaurant in the area as I had heard many good things. My friends had been here before and picked out this place. It was right on the river and was great place to watch the sunset with sweeping views of the Delaware. We sat outside, although the ambiance inside seemed stellar. My girlfriend and I split the Filet Crostini to start, which was really tasty but difficult to eat (and split!). The crostini was almost too crispy, as if it was stale. The mix of flavors was spot on, however, finished with a great red wine reduction. For entrees, I got the Chicken, which came with au gratin and vests. It was delicious! Perfectly cooked and the Demi glaze it was served in was perfect! My girlfriend got Orecchiette with Italian Sausage that may have been even better. The sauce was a watery white wine but it tasted amazing. Definitely a European vibe to this dish. I would definitely recommend both. For dessert, we all split the Key Lime Pie and Creme Brûlée. This was definitely the low point of the meal. The sugar on the creme brûlée was a little burnt and pie tasted store bought. We ended up going to Moo Hope for ice cream after. Don't let the dessert or the view from the outside fool you, this place was top notch. The food combined with the view of the river makes this a top 3 stop if you are only New Hope for a few days. Be sure to check it out!

Yelp
Martines has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food, the service and the people are amazing. I have visited Martines multiple times with no disappointments. I love the outdoor seating and the cozy dining room. The drinks are fabulous and the food is delicious. I highly recommend Martines for all occasion's.

Yelp
ROMANTIC! Romantic! ROMANTIC! Are you on a date? Come here! Just look at the view we had, amazing. We ended up here completely on a whim, I am so happy we did. The service was terrific from the moment we walked in until the end of our night. They have a bunch of really sexy drinks, again perfect for a date night with your honey. Delicious appetizers and a nice menu overall. We also got dessert at the end and I need to give a big shout out to our server, she was delightful. I wish I could remember her name. They get extra points for supporting the LGBTQ+ ‍ community, the drinks you see pictures were part of a contest the restaurants of New Hope were running. I had the 'Tiny Dancer' a combination of Tito's, strawberry purée and Prosecco. I hope they win. Cheers.

Yelp
Our waiter was Chris, and I have to say amazing guy. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and patient. The drinks were VERY well made. The food also was great, we had the pork chop and steak and can't complain about either. Only reason I took a star off was the pork chop was a bit dry with the price being considered. The main source of the stars here are the drinks, the location/ambiance with the riverfront view, and the waiter was on top of his game all night.

Yelp
Service from staff: amazing. Food: Amazing Owner: I made a reservation for my family (7) to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday yet only 5 could attend. I was assured by staff that it was fine and seated immediately. I was looking for a nice place on the river which had good ambiance and food and just wanted something a little special for my daughter so that she could have a memorable evening. She has had a rough go medically, and we just wanted something simple and nice. We were seated on the terrace which I had asked for when I called for my reservation. There was only one other table seated on the terrace besides the table set for us, and at least 4-5 more empty four tops. The restaurant was not crowded at all. As we were being seated the Owner w/ a server approached us and questioned us about our table. I originally thought it was a rude guest and was really confused. I felt as if we did something wrong despite the number of open tables available on terrace. The Owner actually questioned why we were seated there, and when I stated that we were seated there by a staff member, he asked me to verify my reservation. This was in front of another party and my daughter and her friend (teenagers). They were so confused and felt as if they were doing something wrong due to his tone and demeanor. I assured them that it was fine and that it must have been a difficult guest. And then I found out it was the owner himself. It was humiliating and incredibly rude. We ate (our server was amazing. (I don't want ramifications on him due to this review, and would happily give him a reference. One of our party--my sister--is actually a very well known producer in the film industry and would be thrilled to give him a reference if needed as the owner was so unprofessional, we worried he would have ramifications from my complaint in the restaurant and on Yelp.). My daughter does not go out often at all. She can't, and while going out to an early dinner seems small, it was a big deal for her and our family. It's been 3-4 years since we've been able to go to a restaurant due to her medical issues, and we were really excited. This man was so rude that she thought we shouldn't stay as he made it seem as if we were doing something wrong by being there at all (her medical problems are not visible as if that even matters but I feel I need to say it because the Owner was so nasty, I'm sure he'll defend himself). I decided to stay and continue on with our plans out of respect for my daughter. I wanted her to not think anything was wrong at all so the adults in the party played it off as just normal restaurant confusion. I paid our bill and tipped our server 20% because he does not deserve to be penalized for his boss' poor behavior. When we paid our check, I stayed behind to speak with the Owner and share how his behavior was both unnecessary and embarrassing to us. He completely denied his behavior was inappropriate. He stated he was "sorry I felt that way" after he completely interrogated and redressed us on the terrace in front of at least two other parties as well as my children. He ushered me out (of course, I hate being a Gen x female who tears up when I'm angry as I'm listening to an ongoing insult rather than a simple "Oh, I totally apologize for the mixup, I was just confused." If he had said that. I would never have written this. I do not write bad reviews--ever. But his behavior was egregious, and he's the Owner. Again, I do not give bad reviews for mistakes, errors, miscommunication etc. on anything from Etsy to Yelp to Amazon, et al. Never, until now. I support small business and I support workers of small businesses. This business has a great staff and the Owner doesn't deserve them or support. There are a ton of other restaurants in the area that are also on the Delaware. Give them your business. This pic was just before the Owner approached us.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere with optional outdoor seating, food is amazing and couldn't ask for a better manager than John he goes out of his way to make sure you are enjoying yourself and feel welcome. Weather is getting nice so get out and check out Martine's...you won't be disappointed!!
google avatar

Tricia F.

Yelp
I love Martines! Every time I'm in the area I stop in. John and Tanya are so awesome! Always make me feel welcome and make me laugh The service is great and the food and drinks are delicious. I love the Salmon and the chicken caprese sandwich and the Tequila Mockingbird and 50 Shades of violette cocktails... so good! And the outside tables overlooking the water is lovely.

Yelp
Elote was good, but you only get one cob. Deviled eggs were great but you only get three halves. Fried green tomatoes were very good and a decent portion with shrimp and bacon on top. Grilled salmon lunch was meh. Broccolini wasn't edible and couldn't cut it with a knife. Great service and charming place along the Delaware River.

Yelp
If you look at my other reviews, it may look like I hand out 5 star ratings with great ease, but please note that I usually can't be bothered to write about places that I didn't enjoy - Unless I think that a sketchy review may lead to the owners reading the review and hopefully making some changes- Martine's doesn't have anything to worry about. They used to be located across the street in a historical tavern and for many years my wife and I would visit New Hope and Martines for important days (Mostly our Anniversary's and Birthdays). This places has never been inexpensive, but you get a great deal when you consider the quality of the dishes served here. Their newer location is more open and well lit, but the Cusine hasn't changed, it was wonderful then and it is just as wonderful now. I enjoyed a Martine's Sazerac cocktail very much and all of our families meals were excellent, so good in fact that we insisted that we shared a bit from earth of our dishes as we wanted them to experience what we were individually enjoying. Staff was friendly and the place is well lit (which makes me happy, I always feel that dimly lit restaurants are hiding something, I don't find it romantic either, just difficult to read the menus). The view of the river and bridge to NJ are very picturesque. While the place may seem expensive to many, it is a wonderful place to celebrate a special day with your family or loved ones or that special date that you really want to impress. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Amazing food! I'm glad I didn't look on yelp before I came here. Because if I would have seen review of 3.2 stars, I wouldn't have come. Definitely worth a five star rating!!

Yelp
I chose this place cause it said they were dog friendly. I assumed it would be the back around the water with less commotion of people walking by.Turns out you can only eat the front by the entrance. It happened to be super hot today, so it was extra uncomfortable, but nonetheless, we decided to give it a chance. The food, which really was just a couple of sandwiches and burger took over an hour to get to us. The food was okay. The service was also lacking.

Yelp
Came in to get a drink at the bar and the bartender was ABSOLUTELY rude. I would not recommend coming in here with a a group of friends if you planing on having a good time or talking at a louder octave louder then casual conversation.

Yelp
Erica was so friendly & took good care of us! Food was delicious, comfy cozy place with a great view of the river! For first timers we scored!

Yelp
Went to Martine's for a lunch before a Bucks County Playhouse matinee. Extremely small and crowded, and even though we had a reservation, we were told the only table available was outside. The noise from the bridge renovation was unending. Service was pleasant, but food was mediocre, with over cooked french fries which cost extra with a sandwich, but not indicated as such until the bill came. Overall, it did not earn a return visit.

Yelp
Food was good! Can't ask for better views! Service on the other hand was mediocre at best Our waiter Logan seemed distracted and annoyed. The other wait staff seemed happy and very involved in their guest experience! Maybe just a bad day for him. With the price of the dinner and the area I would expect someone more polished. A good meal can be ruined by bad service! This was the case for us! Too many other restaurants to try with polished service ! We are locals and hope Martine's fix the problem!

Yelp
From the minute I walked in, I knew I was going to like this restaurant. So much so I've been here twice in two weeks. Once with my guy friend, and once with another couple who are good friends, were all foodies. There is seating outside In front. Each table had their own fire pit. If you want to bring your dog you can do so if you sit outside in front. The bar is directly to the left as you walk in. The hostess is right there too. She was friendly, and immediately greeted me and brought us to our table. I highly suggest making a reservation. This place does get very busy, and if you want to sit outside you need to have a reservation, those tables fill up quickly. The cocktails here are made well. I especially love the play on names they gave them. I ordered their Spring Thyme Lemon Drop- citron vodka, Chambord, limoncello, lemon, and thyme sprigs on top. I really like this cocktail. My friend ordered their Pear Way to Heaven- vodka,Pear purée,Lemon, honey syrup. The other cocktail he tried was Martine's Vaccine- tequila,Honey ginger syrup, lemon, candied ginger. Both cocktails were great and throughly enjoyed. In my opinion, this restaurant is doing everything right. The staff is extremely nice. My waitresses Erica, and Tayna along with server Mo who brought the food to all the tables was amazing. Mo was very pleasant when I spoke with him. Both ladies explained all the specials, and brought my food out promptly, and made good suggestions the two times I was here. My original plan was to sit outside but due to the incliment weather we sat inside both times. There are still beautiful views of the Delaware River from inside. The ambience was lovely. Dimly lit lights, fresh white linens on all the tables with a votive candle in the middle added a nice touch. I started off with two appetizers my first time here. First The Deviled Eggs- they had truffle salt, capers, and cayenne which gave it nice flavor. Next, The Fried Calamari with Shishido Peppers. I could tell the calamari was very fresh. I even got tentacles which you don't usually get anymore, I kept eating it and the peppers. Upon my second visit for appetizers I ordered The Fried Green Tomatoes with Shrimp, Bacon and Chipotle Mayo on the side. I really enjoyed this dish. The fried green tomatoes were very light and very crispy. There were grilled shrimp all around and the bacon added a smoky taste along with the chipotle mayo. Again I ordered The Fried Calamari with Shishido Peppers it was just as I remembered it. The calamari was light and crispy and the spicy Shishido peppers gave it a nice bite. The escargot was served out of the shell with crimini mushrooms, herb butter, on crostini. This too was very good and flavorful. Since the escargot was served out of its shell, this made it very easy to eat and share. The flavors of the butter the mushrooms and the escargot together made the dish rich and delicious on top of the crostini. For my entrée on my first visit I chose their Filet au Poivre cooked med rare. It was really, really good. I felt it ranked up there with a good steak house. Served on top was grilled asparagus along with olive oil mashed potatoes, and a black peppercorn, brandy sauce. I ate every bite I couldn't believe it. My friend chose the exact same thing and he cleaned his plate. We were both so full that this time around we did not have any dessert. My second time here I chose the New York Prime Strip Steak. I had it cooked medium rare and I must say it was perfectly cooked all the way through pink from one end to the other, (see picture) I didn't want to eat french fries so I subbed it out and got their olive oil mashed potatoes which are heavenly. It also had grilled green scallions on top. My guy friend again ordered their Filet au Poirve, and so did my other guy my friend. It cut like butter and was thoroughly enjoyed. ( FYI- don't order it past medium rare if you want to be extra tender.) My female friend ordered their Ricotta Gnocchi with heirloom carrots, peas, tomatoes, asparagus, pesto parmesan. She got grilled chicken on top. It was a nice size and she enjoyed it. It needed a little more salt, but was good. For dessert we all shared because we were full their Chocolate Mousse. It was rich and delicious. Martine's offers some vegetarian and GF food. Parking can be somewhat of a problem. If you can find a spot on the street great if not you will have to walk. I really enjoyed my two times here so far, and I'm looking forward to returning soon and when the weather is warmer sit outside.

Yelp
We booked an 8:30 reservation to come here with friends to eat dinner outside on the deck and watch the fireworks which started at 9:30. When we arrived the hostess didn't seem too happy and coldly told us that outside seating wasn't guaranteed and they only had inside by the window. Then she eventually found a table for us outside. We did get a table closest to the water which was nice. It was sunset too. The view was definitely the best part of the night. Service wasn't too good. We had to wait awhile for our waitress to come take our order. We had to ask 3 times to get water. The water tasted really nasty. I got the tequila mockingbird drink that was supposed to have tequila, berries and lavender syrup in it. It basically tasted like a margarita all I tasted was tequila, lime, and salt, didn't taste any berry flavor. I don't know if they gave me the wrong drink or the bartenders don't know how to make drinks. We didn't get any bread plates with our bread so we had to use our menu to put the bread on. We got our food a little bit before the fireworks went off. If I had known service was going to be so slow I would have made the reservation for 8:00, so that way we could enjoy the fireworks after eating. Some of the fireworks I couldn't see because there was a big tree blocking my view. My food was ok, but definitely not worth the price. I got the ribeye with bone marrow. It said it came with herb salad on the menu but it ended up coming with peas, asparagus and Lima beans. The steak was also a little too salty. My husband enjoyed his pork though. They didn't really have much variety to pick from on the menu. The bottom line is you're basically paying for the view here. Food is way overpriced and the service and food quality don't match the price. I think this restaurant is trying to cater to an older population that maybe doesn't mind spending a lot of money on average food. We enjoyed catching up with some friends and watching the fireworks here, but we wouldn't come back. If we decide to come to watch the fireworks again I'd rather stand on the bridge, seems like a better view that way, and then grab food from somewhere else cheaper afterwards.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the arugula watermelon salad and RiverHouse salad. Both were really fresh and flavorful. The iced teas were great too, a lot more flavorful than other places I've been to. Unfortunately, the mussels had rocks/sand in them. The service was a little slow today too, I think they were busy since it was a Sunday.

Yelp
I thought dining outside by the river was fantastic. Our server Chris was very nice and absolutely delightful. My salmon was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The only complaint I have is the deviled egg appetizer, it was lackluster and absolutely not worth the price. All things considered, I will definitely be back and think it's a solid place to dine and have drinks.

Yelp
If I can give no stars I would, had a reservation for 11:30 am, get there and the guy just stares at us doesn't even open the door....way to welcome customers....
