The Best Burritos In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Despite its name, the Baby Burrito from this market-restaurant-bar hybrid in Bridgeport is absolutely massive—one half is nearly as big as the average human face. Yet despite its size, the burrito never falls apart as you make your way through the balanced combination of salty beans, crisp vegetables, and charred steak. And it’s all wrapped up in what might be the crackliest pressed tortilla we’ve ever encountered on our burrito hunt. If you’re feeling really ambitious (or just have a bunch of hungry friends) give their comically large $60 Big Baby Burrito a shot—it’s quadruple the size of their regular one." - john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen, adrian kane

Awful cashier. The fat lady that always is in a bad mood. Came there one day respectfully asking her for directions and she was giving me such attitude for no reason, I don’t know if it’s because I was black or something but man, you can’t go anywhere without being discriminated. Someone needs to fire her and get better customer service.

Sent my 17 here who is African American, told he couldn't come in because it was already full of Mexicans so he waited and was told he still couldn't enter because Of covid 19 ,he had on a mask, even though not one Mexican had one on.rhe former owners who now on tasti bites on Jefferson were much more friendly I will not spend another dime here.

They need to update their hours. And keep them Gorditas warm. Sometimes if you go at 8:30-9am it’s still closed. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yelp
I'd consider it more of a convenience store than an actual grocery store. The store itself was old, there was built up dust coming from the empty shelves and some of the products looked to have been there for some time. Like with most Mexican stores, there's always warm prepared food to be found. I got a steak burrito, 2 tacos, and 2 gorditas for about $8. The food was awful! The gorditas were from a warming tray and weren't made to order, were really soggy and had no flavor. The tacos were just stale meat with re-fried beans & rice inside, no onions or cilantro. Its also in a pretty sketchy part of town and as I was walking towards my car, I noticed some couples action going on in the car next to mine as I pretended not to look and heard a scream from that car right when I slammed my car door. Steer clear from this place.

Yelp
I think that the meeker st. store still has the best barbacoa, gorditas, arroz y frijoles. I've been coming there for years even though I live near the second location. In my opinion the food is much better and you get treated like family from Don Claro's son in law Martin, I think he goes above and beyond for his customers. Keep up the great work. Thank you
