Martinique New York on Broadway, Curio Collection by Hilton

I stayed 5 nights for work. The location is great, and room was spotless. But there were issues with my billing. They forgot to apply the dining credit and also overcharged me. The dining credit didn't work the way they explained. It gets messy when you stay for multiple days. Make sure you have them explain it to you clearly so you don't get overcharged! Update: I called and still can't reach the billing department, and there's still an issue! I don't recommend it! This is such a hassle.

I had a three night stay at this hotel with a group I was with. Everything was fine and the bar/restaurant was a pleasant place to wind down each evening. My only glitch, which was totally my fault, was that I checked in, via that app, and chosen one of their larger [queen] rooms. When I got to the hotel, I inquired about a Hilton Diamond Upgrade, but I didn't suggest what I wanted and the front desk clerk just upgraded me to a room with a King bed, which I didn't need and made the room seem even smaller. Lesson learned! The bathrooms have been updated nicely, though as someone also said here, they have no ventilation. Since I was traveling alone, that wasn't an issue.

I stayed at Martinique New York on Broadway, Curio Collection by Hilton for one night and had a great experience. The lobby is absolutely beautiful with stunning floors that make a fantastic first impression. My room was clean and comfortable, which made for a relaxing stay. Check-in and check-out were both very speedy and efficient, which I really appreciated. While I didn’t use the café during my stay, it was nice to know it was available on-site. The hotel’s location is excellent- easy to get around and close to many Koreatown restaurants and shops. Overall, I have no complaints. Thank you!

I was not looking forward to staying in this hotel, my company booked it. I was very impressed. I arrived late on Thursday night after a flight delay. It was close to midnight and everything was open, alive, and vibrant. I checked in and when right out to a restaurant just a few doors down and had a wonderful meal. The Bronze Owl bar in the hotel is so stylish and chic, with great cocktails and super friendly staff. There is a fantastic dessert shop just outside the hotel lobby called Sweet Graffiti that I visited twice during my stay, yummy! The front desk staff were great and my room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. I look forward to returning!

Rooms were clean beds were comfortable. We didn't spend much time in the room but shower was hot, towels well stocked what else do you need?.. I supposed we could have used a mini fridge but in the standard room we got they didn't offer those. Front desk was always helpful and everyone very nice. They stored our luggage after check out for the rest of the day while we explored more. Location very central to all the things we wanted to visit , parking ( paid) was only 3 min walk , book parking with hotel reservation as space is limited .

Stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago. We chose it solely because it was the most affordable option in Manhattan that offered a room with two double beds — and by "affordable," I mean around $400 per night. As a Hilton Diamond member who has stayed at ~10 different Hilton properties across the country in the past 2 months, I can say this was the worst experience so far. There was no early check-in — not even at 3:30 PM. Check-in is strictly enforced at 4 PM, and both check-in and check-out involved long lines, so be prepared to wait. There’s also an additional ~$45 daily destination fee, with only $15 of that applicable toward dining — which feels unreasonable and unlike anything I’ve experienced at other Hilton locations. I would have preferred a higher nightly rate over an unexpected extra charge at arrival that feels like a scam. As for the location, yes, it's in Manhattan — but it’s hard to find a hotel here that isn’t near a subway station, so I wouldn’t consider that a unique advantage.

The room was very well appointed, clean, generally lovely. The location is purely not in my favorite part of town, but I would say it was very easy to access and walk the ball too many of NYC’s attractions. Should I need a hotel in the future in NYC? I would strongly consider staying there again.

Positive: I loved the cleanliness of the hotel, the friendly staff, and the convenient location near Times Square. Though the room was small, it was large enough for two people and two large suitcases comfortably. Taxis wait outside ready to transport people too. Negative: Nothing I didn?t Ike.

We've stayed here 2 years in a row for 1 night each during an annual NYC Christmas trip. Hotel is in a good location, close to the train station and Times Square, as well as the theater district. But hotel is overpriced and service is not great. This time, they wanted $75 extra for us to check-in early at 10am even though the room was available. Women's bathroom in the lobby was completely out of soap. Hotel rooms are a bit old/outdated, and they don't have the large refillable shower gel/shampoo/conditioner bottles that every other hotel nowadays has. Also, the diner has the worst food. Breakfast included a frozen square hashbrown (not actual hashbrowns), cold eggs on the avocado toast, mimosas with hardly any champagne, fatty/not well-done bacon. Service was also very slow.

BUGS IN BEDS!!!! The suite on floor 17 (penthouse level 1) was disgusting. Bugs were found in both beds (see photos and videos attached). I even found a dead one in the plastic-sealed coffee cup. It was a very stressful night packing up and switching rooms, praying that no bed bugs got into my luggage during the day while I was out. The TV remote control also didn't work. I switched rooms, but it was half the size and also missing hair conditioner. They also couldn't offer me a late checkout beyond 30min despite being a Gold elite member. I'm never staying here again. All rooms are dark because they either face west (Broadway) or the interior (east). Broadway-facing was somewhat brighter. Maybe 32nd St-facing is brightest, but they didn't have any left when I needed to swap rooms. There was also a loud hammering noise starting at 8 AM due to hotel construction. This was not a smooth start to my work trip. Despite this hotel being in a good location and having a nice looking lobby, I won't be staying here again. Although the next day, Ecolab's test results came back negative for bed bugs (the hotel sent for Ecolab), it was still disgusting, not to mention stressful waiting for those test results. I expect to stay in a clean bed whenever I travel.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I recently visited for NYE and was well taken care of by the staff. From check in to check out, Alex and the team were kind and caring and quick! The concierge were attentive and upheld room card checks during the late hours so I felt safe. This hotel is also in such a great location. Right near herald square so you're near all the shopping, near many landmarks like the Empire State Building, only one train stop away from Times Square, and right in the middle of the uniqueness that is Korea Town. The hotel was clean, smelled great, and was beautifully decorated. The room was very spacious for a New York hotel, including the bathroom, but it depends on what room you get, because my dad had another room on the same floor and had a much smaller bathroom. However he did have a better view of the city than I did. Overall I was very comfortable at The Martinique and would be happy to stay there again.

I had an amazing stay here! It is clean, updated, and relatively upscale (the lobby is super pretty!). On top of the nice look and feel of the hotel, you literally cannot beat the location. It is so centrally located that you don't have to walk far to get to the subway and the lines around connect to almost everything. On top of the ease of access to the subway, you can walk to many of the biggest attractions. When I say it's centrally located, I mean it. One thing that is super important to note is that, yes, they have the $40 fee/night, BUT you can use that daily at the cafe or restaurant, which I thought was really nice (and I used it every day). The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. I arrived way before check-in and they happily checked my bags so I could start exploring the city. Once I came back, they grabbed my bags right away. Housekeeping was great and my room was always cleaned (unless I had the DND sign on the door). I always felt very safe here because after a certain time (I think it was 10PM?) the doorman wouldn't let anyone pass into the hotel without showing their key card. The room (deluxe king) was very spacious, updated, and impeccably clean. I loved my view because it overlooked Greeley Square Park, which was lively and pretty. I had two main complaints about my stay, which weren't actually all that bad... The first is that check-in took almost 40 minutes, but that's likely because I was there the minute check-in started, as were many other people. I would recommend waiting until roughly an hour after it opens to check-in for a quicker experience. My second complaint is that the elevators were so incredibly slow. Thankfully, I was only on the third floor, so I could just walk up the stairs. I would definitely stay here again, and actually already have another stay booked!

I love when any hotel is part of a collection! The Martinique sounded fancy, so my partner booked a room there. Love the luscious lobby and friendly customer service, though the rooms themselves felt more like the standard Hilton brand. It felt a little claustrophic, but I'm guessing this is a standard New York situation since I don't travel here often. My complaints are mainly small details. Items in the room were very dusty like coffeemaker. Most of the electrical outlets in the room weren't functional. The shower faucet was installed backwards. It was also annoying when one person had to get up because the bathroom light lit up the entire room. Honestly, I had higher hopes for this property!

I liked this place due to its lower cost than competitors and the proximity to a lot of places especially koreatown. Room size is what you'd expect when in a crowded city. Everything was clean and security is good. What I didn't like was that our bellhop was kinda rude and pushy about getting a tip. Our tv also didn't fully work. Note that there is a daily $40 resort fee. We used that money by buying a large breakfast each day from their cafe.

I love the location of this hotel! It is right in K Town and right outside a station. The rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly. Parking was a pain in the butt. The website advertises a $60 parking fee if you bring a car, but it's actually 3rd party owned and a couple blocks down. The barista at the cafe downstairs was beyond friendly and the restaurant wasn't too bad. I'd definitely stay here again!

As a fan of the Curio Brand of HIlton, I decided to try this hotel. The hotel did not disappoint. The hotel is located in the neighborhood of Korean Town of Midtown. This hotel is incredible location with restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions within walking distance. I would advise not to rent a car, if possible. The lobby is located on the first floor with various seating and working areas. The Reception Desk is located in the back of the area. The Guest Service Agent, was very pleasant and helpful at the time of the check in. She went over all of the Hilton benefits along with the credit. The room, I had pre-selected, was ready upon arrival. The room, 1020, is decent size for a room in New York with a neutral contrast. The view is of a busy street.... with the occasion sound of sirens. The bathroom is on the tiny side, however, it serves its purpose. Heads up... the open closet is very limited with space and drawers. Overall, the room is great for one or two people with a great working area and seating area. I would highly recommend this Curio hotel due to the service and location.

Great location!! Will absolutely be back here! It's only 2 blocks from the penn train station which was a great way to travel to and from the airports! Also the staff is really friendly and helpful no complaints besides the windows need to be cleaned it was more than a little rain fog but nonetheless a great view! I really loved the coffee shop in the lobby it was super affordable and really good quality. Also the security staff checking room keys at night was a plus! Easy walk to sooo many food choices it's hard to choose! Best part is only a 10 min walk to Times Square!

Perfect spot for the traveler that wants to be right next door to a lot of hot spots in NYC. Empire State Building is right next door and Times Square is right up the street. Super easy excess to MSG, multiple shopping spots, restaurants, and bars. Of course I caught a rangers game and went to an amazing comedy club. Also Korean town is right near by. The hotel itself has 2 restaurants and a cafe you can eat at or order from if you don't venture out. The customer service here was impeccable and the cleanliness of their rooms was splendid. As they say you get what you pay for. Yes it is expensive but it's in such a happening spot. Rooms were cute and just like many other NYC hotels. Beds were extremely comfortable and hallways were so quiet I barely even knew anyone was there. If you are a Hilton member you will get better pricing. Come check them out:)

The Martinique is an nicely updated hotel in a historical building. It being a historical building, the guest rooms all vary in shape and size quite a bit. Some are absolutely tiny while others are large and spacious. So do be aware when you choose your room category. I have Hilton Diamond status, but this particular hotel seems rather stingy when it comes to room upgrades-- I rarely get upgraded here. The Martinique is very close to the Empire State Building, so it could be a good place to stay at for tourists. The view outside most guest rooms are pretty boring however. Although it has "Broadway" in its name, this hotel isn't necessarily that convenient for Broadway Shows. The hotel is at 32nd and Broadway whereas most Broadway shows are clustered around Times Square (42nd and Broadway! which is 10 blocks to the north. The area around this hotel is actually Korea Town, so there are ample Asian dining options. I especially love that there's an H-Mart literally across the street! But if you're not into Asian food, it might not be convenient. I travel almost every week to Midtown Manhattan for work, and The Martinique used to be my favorite hotel to stay at in NY due to the its location, front desk staff, and great on site dining. Really annoying changes that they've made to their mandatory daily destination fee, however, has knocked The Martinique out of my hotel rotation in NYC for the foreseeable future. Back when I started staying at the Martinique, in early 2022, the mandatory daily destination fee was $35/night. It then went up to $40/night. And then it went up to $45/night. I was still ok with that fee because the entirety of the fee could be applied as dining credit at their excellent on site restaurant, The Press Club Grill. Easily my favorite hotel breakfast in NYC. Unfortunately, sometime in 2024, they decided that now, only $15 of that daily destination fee will count as dining credit. Although they also decreased the fee back down to $40/day, what does the other $25/day get you? Wifi, Citi Bike rental, and digital newspaper. We all have smart phones with data plans so the wifi and digital newspaper is worthless. Plus I'm pretty sure Hilton as a brand advertises free wifi for all Hilton Honors members. I also get free Citi Bike rentals already through my Lyft Pink membership... so the Martinique's destination fee for me is completely a junk fee. I've stayed at over 10 other Hilton properties in Manhattan, and the Martinique is the only one with such a junk fee. This is a hotel that charges $400+ per night usually... they really shouldn't be nickel and diming their customers on top of the room rate for "wifi access and digital newspaper access." Until they remedy or eliminate this junk fee, I will be staying at other hotels that either don't have a destination fee at all, or at hotels that will let me use the destination fee in full as a dining credit!

Nice hotel in the middle of everything. I only stayed one night but I went to the bar on the inside and the drinks and service was great. If you arrive before your room is ready the bell guys are super great with handling your bags. My room which was a junior suite was clean and spacious for a NY hotel room. The next morning before leaving I had coffee and a breakfast sandwich which so good! Also when booking there is a $40 fee that is automatically charged but it's actually a credit that you can use to buy food in the hotel.

I thought this hotel was great - awesome location, friendly staff, beautiful lobby, through housekeeping services, and room was a good size. Bed is not the most comfy and it does get really loud outside but that's to be expected. The $40 fee that gets converted into food and beverage credit is a little weird but it made mornings very easy. I would stay here again for sure!

Stayed at this hotel for two nights recently while at a training after thanksgiving. The check in process was smooth and was able to get into my room a little earlier than check in time which was nice. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was decorated nicely for the holiday season. The room itself was decent. It was on the smaller side which is to be expected for a boutique hotel. The linens were clean and bed was comfortable. There were some stains on the carpet which was a bit unappealing but I wore slippers like I do at all hotels so it was fine. The bathroom was nice and looked updated with plenty of towels. I appreciated housekeeping coming to straighten up the room, they did a wonderful job. The location of the hotel was great for getting around and exploring the city. Lots of places within walking distance.

Beware to whoever stays here! They charge a $450 deposit which they will take and not return for up to 10 days. Can't believe they treat guest like this!

Simply put staying here just isn't worth the cost. The rooms are tiny and difficult to maneuver with groups of 4. We paid close to $700 for a room on the 16th floor, and the view out the window (above, below, and to the sides) was all concrete. Literally one foot away-concrete was ALL you could see. Don't get me wrong I understand it's NYC, but a disclaimer about that or small discount on the room would have been appreciated. Additionally, we needed to access an office space to get work done while staying here. There is no office space here whatsoever (which is crazy for a hotel, ESPECIALLY one as "fancy" as this). When we asked the hotel staff if there was one, they gave us directions to a space that did not exist and then laughed at us. Just overall a bad experience, would not recommend to anyone honestly.

The Martinique hotel in mid-Mattahan was perfect for our girls trip! Conveniently located near Time Square and Penn Station, the staff at the hotel were friendly and attentive, and our rooms... modern and updated. A $40 daily credit to the downstairs restaurant was provided, and the restaurant staff was absolutely exceptional! Although the room was smaller, the hotel is in NYC and I would definitely consider staying at the Martinique again.

This place was a hidden gem! Perfect for a weekend trip, it's 8 minutes from Time Square and very conveniently located. The staff is exceptional, from the friendly bellmen, the front desk, security, the overnight crew, and the team at Early Edition. There are a few people I must mention, Hirenia at the desk was just fabulous! She went the extra mile for us, and I couldn't have asked for better service. Donnell was intent on getting us bandaids when we had a minor accident. Fernando at Early Edition was full of positive energy and good vibes for breakfast. Jonathan at Early Edition was super helpful when he recommended great local places to visit on our trip. Mia at Early Edition is also great. I can't remember the overnight Managers name, but he was accommodating as well. The list really goes on and on, but those are a few I remember. We expected rudeness being from the South and new to NYC, but we had a completely different experience. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The room was cozy; I think the double queen was a good amount of space, given the location. The price was amazing compared to everywhere else. You do have to pay the daily destination charge, but that's pretty much everywhere. We paired it with our Hilton Gold status and utilized all of the outlets each day; it kept our food costs down on the trip. Overall, for a last-minute weekend trip, I couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Thank you, guys, for a great stay!

What a dump. Amazing website but very deceiving. Rooms are old and musty smell. Go spend the extra $200 per night and stay somewhere else.. this is the worst experience ever.

I have a lot of average hotel stays lately and the Martinique shined. My room was clean and they actually cleaned it each day (novel concept). The room has a really good desk chair which is important to me and allows one to do work. The location is convenient but it's in a mixed area of grit and good. They do charge a resort fee but this is the first hotel that you receive something in return (the ability to use it against their decent restaurant). Really this is a pretty good option in the City.

My family and I recently stayed at the Martinique, which is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff, from the front desk to the rest of the hotel, were extremely friendly and attentive. The hotel is located in Koreatown, which is close to Penn Station, Bryant Park, Times Square, the Empire State Building, and the subway, which can take you anywhere else in the city. The hotel has a restaurant where we got breakfast for our 8 and 10-year-old daughters, who really enjoyed the pancakes. The bed was comfortable and the room was the perfect size (keep in mind that most New York City hotel rooms that ordinary people can afford are not very big). We were out and about most of the time, but we really enjoyed the location and design of this hotel. When we come back to NYC, this will definitely be our first choice.

Someone else had booked room for us. Location to get off and unload luggage was not easy. Check in was smooth and did not had to wait too long in line to check-in. They apply $75/day hold on your card for incidentals. Staff was courteous and professional. We had a 2 queen beds room. Even its NYC, I feel that queen room was very small for 4 people to be in the room along with their luggage. You can barely walk around in the room while others are there. Room seemed clean. Bathroom was well lit and had all basic amenities. Stayed for 2 nights. Everything is walkable and close by from this location. Overall 3.5/5 mainly due to the size of the room.

Stayed her over the Memorial Day weekend. The entry is very inviting and plush right in the heart of the hustle and bustle NYC midtown. Easy and convenient if you want to see a bit of everything in Manhattan. Having lived in NYC a for a while and going back, it was still great to stay in midtown. The staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. The rooms were very clean (on the smaller side like many in middle of NYC). The value for money and what you get is good considering the busy memorial weekend, beginning of summer vacation for many families with kids out of school as well as the tourist season start. Felt very comfortable/safe staying here and will consider coming back in future.

The Hilton brand's position on my list of preferred accommodations is declining. I have been a loyal Hilton Honors member for many years, previously holding Diamond status. However, due to traveling less following my cancer diagnosis 18 months ago, Hilton downgraded me to Silver despite my explanation. The lack of empathy has continued during my stay at the Martinique in New York today. When I requested a late check-out until 4:00 instead of 3:00 for an additional fee of $100, the manager insisted on an extra $100 till 4:00, even though the room wouldn't be occupied by the next guest. Despite my confusion, the manager was unyielding, leading to a disappointing and unprofessional encounter. Nevertheless, I plan to make the most of my stay, relax in the room, undergo my oral chemotherapy treatment, and appreciate the comfort provided by the $200 spent to avoid being on the streets until departure. If this is how they street loyal customers, I need to reconsider all these Hilton stays and branch out to other brands!

This is going to be in parts but please read through last part most important. 1) Hotel lobby nice, they let us check our bags in early. They do not have their own garage but can valet park it at a lot somewhere. It was more expensive so I went on Spot Hero to get one and boom, right across the street from hotel. Only had to walk across the street and was cheaper so do that. Price was reasonable for New York. But I did scope it out many months in advance. 2) Room: Clean which is obviously the most important. HOWEVER, two things we didn't like: first there was no mini fridge (and as a side note to get more coffee or tea you have to track someone down and hope they'll allow it). Second was the worst problem there. The room was frigid cold. We put the heat up but as soon as the heat would reach the temperature, it would kick on cold blowers. So we turned the heat to 80 to make it last longer but still went to cold so I sweated then froze then sweated then froze. 3) Area: Easy to walk to everything! Steps from, the revolving door is the subway and a block down the one from the other direction. Two blocks down is Penn Station and Madison Square Garden and other direction the Empire State Building and just a couple blocks from Macys... best hotel location for that area quite possibly. Last part: To the Martinique management people: You should right now, promote, give a bonus or special recognition to two men who work at your hotel. I was there Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of Thanksgiving week. When we were checking in, I realized I had lost my phone somewhere and didn't know where. IAN, the wonderful man who is by the doors helped me sooooo much I cannot even tell you. He called my phone about 20x or more, he told me where I could contact police to ask about lost property. He called my husband with directions and gave him steps to trace I remembered, he also leant a charger for the phone in case the phone died (and it DID). Finally a woman who works at another hotel answered my phone and returned it to me with my missing debit and credit card, military ID and License. Ian gave directions to the subway and kept us all linked together till my phone was in hand. While Ian was doing this, LEON, another gentleman who works up front (might be the bellman) got one of my bags with my laptop in it, guided me telling me I could go online now and didn't need to call (as they were closed) and cancel my bank card. He gave me tissues for my tears, sat with me and comforted me, only leaving when he did his job. Same with Ian. Both these people went far beyond what I ever expected anyone to do. You wouldn't let me check in either because my ID was in phone case which was lost. Even though my husband just checked in and had the key card. I was a little upset about that though. Surely you could've done something. You could have called my husband etc. I personally had the reservation in my hand with his and my name on it and the woman behind the desk saw me upset in the hall calling for my husband when my phone was gone... so she knew. But I had to sit there hours with not even a drink or use the restroom without dragging everything with me. But to make up for that and the frigid room, the least you can do is reward these two extraordinary people who refuse tips even! Please let me know you did.

Enjoying staying here. It's very well located and comfortable, and the rooms are very quiet. This is a historic Hotel and the 1890's that has been through a lot of changes but you would not know it from the modern rooms, just from the stylish lobby. This review right now is for the early edition coffee bar! I couldn't decide whether to leave the hotel and get something outside or be lazy and get something downstairs. The coffee is fine, neither spectacular nor terrible. But the croissant is the croissant of my dreams! They must get them from a very good bakery. The butter in it is excellent!

Absolutely amazing!!! From the staff, to the bellhop, the bar, the room, everything was perfect. A special thanks to Florence for making sure we were comfortable with our check in process. If you are on the go when you're in NYC then stay here. It was walking distance from everything. The location couldn't be more perfect. I would stay here again and again. It's also a 6 min walk to Penn station

Great bang for buck value! Surprised that this Curio has lower pricing compared to your typical Hilton chains like Doubletree and Hilton. Just a few blocks from Bryant Park and smack in Koreatown, the Martinique was a great option. As a Diamond member with two guests it was a $78 dollar a day credit, which post-Covid seemed too good to be true.. The room was modern, and bigger (NYC standards) Really the big thing here was the value and location

The place has a nice looking lobby but that's about it. They have no valet parking and their garage is a couple streets down which is very inconvenient. The 9th floor smells like cigarettes in the hallway and the room smells musty. The walls are paper thin and you can hear partying from down the hall. I couldn't get a hold of anyone even though I tried calling multiple times on the hotel phone and my personal phone and finally had to go downstairs to make a noise complaint. They don't even offer complimentary ear plugs like Marriott does. Only reason they get more than 1 star is because someone followed up on the complaint immediately even though five minutes later it did absolutely nothing.

*ADJUSTED * My review after the Director of the hotel called me to follow up and apologize for the little mishap I originally noted in my review. He demonstrated they are service focused and really want to make sure they address any concerns that a guest may have. :)

I stayed here for 1 night on Friday 6/9/2023 and was very happy with everything. I booked the room using Priceline Express Deals + Rakuten. I was assigned Room 707. I had requested a room in a quiet area of the hotel not facing the street and away from the elevators and ice machine, and a shout out to Sonia at the front desk, she took care of everything. The subway station was literally right outside of the hotel entrance, and it is only a 2 block walk to Penn Station. Very nice and clean hotel; I would definitely stay here again.

I would for sure recommend this place and the connecting restaurant the press grill to anyone! What a great stay!!! Good location! Great service in both hotel and restaurant Just go there and experience both!!!

Booked this place for a concert at Madison Square Garden and was very shocked at how close it actually was to the venue. Got a small double bed room and it was a very small room but since it was just for one night and only to suit the purpose of sleeping after the concert the price was perfect! Check in was done through the phone and the key was phone Bluetooth so there was no hassle of waiting in line to check in! I would stay here again!

This hotel and its staff were wonderful! Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The hotel was under construction during our stay. In our initial room the noise was unbearable. The manger was so nice and helpful. We were promptly moved to another room away from the noise. Their restaurant and coffee bar was amazing! This hotel was centrally located for everything we wanted to do! We would stay here again on our next trip.

The room was fine. There was a strange support beam that cut across the room diagonally, so you'd have to duck around it when walking through the room. The most annoying part of the stay was check in. It seems that the hotel has a very strict 4:00 pm check in policy. We tried to check in at 3:30, which I've never had an issue with at any hotel I've ever stayed, but they insisted that we could not check in until 4:00 pm. The lobby was full of people sitting around until 4 pm on the dot when we all went up to the desk. If rooms aren't ready, that's understandable. But making everyone wait for no reason other than to stick to a 4 pm, and not a minute earlier, policy is ridiculous. There's a coffee shop downstairs which is convenient, but you're pretty much forced to go to it because you're charged a $45 nightly fee, 15 of which can be spent at their coffee bar.

Nice lobby, great location, helpful staff but the room we were initially given was awful. Dark, over air conditioned and lacking in daylight. We were moved to a different, higher floor so we could at least peer up out of the single interior window to see the sky. Overall impression? Refuse any room with 28 as the number.

The Martinique is a recently refurbished hotel. It was very clean but the double bedroom was small and the bathroom was also small with not much counter space. The shower was nice and they have ironing boards and a iron in the room. Hilton has instituted a destination charge at all their hotels. You do get a credit you can use for breakfast. If you don't use it it's gone the next day so be sure to use it. Breakfast is expensive around 21.00 for pancakes. The destination charge is a additional 30.00 per day. You get 15.00 daily credit. We paid $500 a day for the hotel room and it will get you a very clean room with good customer service.

This hotel, at first glance, was everything we were looking for! A great location, the pics showed an upscale feel, and reviews mentioned a level of comfort that for our needs. When we exhaustedly walked into the lobby at 9pm, I thought we had made a great choice. Unfortunately, we ended up having a terrible experience. Now when acting as tourists in NYC, you don't expect to spend much time in your hotel, but we upgraded from where we normally stay to this hotel looking for a great experience. Our bathroom was unfortunately overrun with drain flies, and it progressively got worse over the weekend. For a $1000 weekend hotel bill, this should not be the case. 1- The clerks and staff at the customer service level were polite, apologetic, friendly, and helpful. Once they got the front desk manager, that image depleted quickly. She was rude, blamed us for the situation (which was already happening when we checked in), and then sent house cleaning back to "freshen up the room". This took over an hour. 2- The bill was $1000 for the weekend. I told the manager that I was appalled that we had to pay this and suggest she offer us a discount for our trouble. She only removed the $35 destination fee. For showering with fruit fly like bugs flying around your head. $1000!!! 3- "Freshening up" our room meant squashing the bugs into the ceiling, some of which fell into our sink while we slept. 4- we were exhausted from walking around NYC and being tourists. I feel they took advantage of that, since they knew we wouldn't pick up and leave. So we stayed in a room infested by drain flies. Lastly, we were tired and travel weary, and traveling with our eight-year-old, and making a scene isn't my deal. I never write negative reviews, but here we are! That being said-- in Herald square check out the Hampton a few blocks over. I won't be coming back to the Martinique again.

Decent hotel in a very central part of the city. Staff is nice and friendly. The only thing about this is that there is no natural light in most of the rooms which makes it really hard to get ready bc lack of lighting is noticeable. Thee was no central light in my room just lamps which made it even more difficult.

The staff was kind and the rooms were comfortable. Keep in mind, it is NY city. So you will have the smaller rooms, however they were still spacious enough for 2 queens and 2 people. No drawers. So we used the counter and closet space provided for my son on one side and I'm a peaceful sleeper so I used the other side of my bed as my "closet" as we were here for a weeks worth of clothes. We did room service. The food was quick to arrive and still warm. Had the shrimp Mac and cheese, creamy and perfectly seasoned. The burger was very think and filling. Also nicely seasoned. As well as the Caesar salad, no leaf went dry, it was well tossed in dressing.

Continued terrible service and rude employees after multiple stays. Will not stay again and would not ever recommend in good conscience. Do better Hilton.

Update: called Hilton to report horrible stay and they could have cared less. I will NEVER stay at Hilton again.

Most overpriced hotel in NYC. They advertise rooms with beds bigger than the actual size (a queen size it's actually a full size). Staff is super rude and not helpful unless you are somewhat famous. There's a short dark complexion woman on the larger side with dreads, that is particularly unpleasant. All coworkers stay here when we travel to NY ( twice a month) but I'll make sure that doesn't happen again.

MISLEADING ON THEIR $30 MANDATORY FEE. Regardless how you hook with fees already added. The hotel has their own fee they charge each person SUPER tiny room and we got a queen bed! The max number of people should be 1 and not 2. I tried calling front desk 5 times with no answer. No one called back so I just didn't bother. Location is great, but overall room quality and price deserves 2 stars at best. This is not a 4 1/2 star hotel as rated on Hotwire, Google or USAA. Also, all the "nice" pictures on Yelp is definitely by the hotel bc it doesn't NOT look like that in person. They definitely got panoramic shots for all the pics to make the rooms look bigger than they are in person

Hotel was very busy when I checked in at 4pm. There were 50 people ahead of me in line and the staff gave us all cold bottles of water and apologized for the wait. Rooms are very sleek and modern. My room had a queen bed and a narrow desk below the wall mounted tv. Bathroom was small with no bathtub but the water temp and water pressure were great! My room rate came with a $40 per day credit in the cafe and restaurant. All of the food was delicious including the pastries, dinner, and dessert. All of the staff were very friendly and professional. I'll definitely stay here again during my next trip to NYC.

Decent lobby and clean rooms but the beds were u comfortable and temperature thermostat was not working g properly.

Horrible experience. Billed incorrectly and Hilton would not fix. Manager is not professional or mature. This hotel lacks everything: no pool, no gift shop, no food. It was under construction but no one told us this when we booked. Also, they charge you $50 a day fur feed-also not on website. Very disappointed. We will never stay at a Hilton again.

So many other hotels in Midtown are a little pricey, and all centralized in the Times Square area, which is arguably convenient for people trying to hit all the tourist sites in that area, but I like that the Martinique was in a bit of a better area, a more real New York area, not just the tourist haven! Most importantly, the bed was super comfortable not just for me but for everyone in my group! The people working there were super nice a d it was classy of them ti give some free soending at their internal cafe on the first floor!

Even though my stat was short, the iconic Martinique hotel did not disappoint. A lot of hidden and not so hidden original pieces/ structure still in well maintained conditions. Great staff, centrally located. Cant wait to come back later this year.
