Outstanding steaks and super drinks Fire and Spice martini and the Pumpkin spice white Russians were exceptional. Whitney and Arden were fantastic. The cinnamon maple bourbon soup was the perfect desert. You could not ask for a better experience!!!! Sorry..the ribeye steak didn't make the pictures roll but was the best

On August 2, 2024, after an evening of enjoying The Spinners and The Commodores at the River's Casino, my guest and I decided to have a late dinner at Martorano's Prime Pittsburgh. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the host and found plenty of seating available, so no reservation was needed. The charm of the restaurant is undeniably beautiful, and our seating by the windows offered a stunning night view of the Ohio River and Point State Park. One of the hidden gems of this restaurant is their $12 menu for late-night dining after 9 PM. Our server was quite surprised when we asked for this menu, which is not widely advertised. Although the selections are limited, it allowed us to enjoy a delicious meal without spending hundreds of dollars. We each selected a salad from the main menu, and our sides of wings and fish sliders came from the late-night menu. The ambiance was enhanced by low lighting and a DJ playing soulful musical selections of funk, R&B, rock, and jazz. The meal selections were absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection. However, there were a few drawbacks that prevented me from giving a full 5-star rating. There were moments of long delays in having our food order taken, and once the food was brought to us, we had to call the server back to refill our water. The table was not cleared as we finished each item, leaving it packed with menus and plates from our meals. Additionally, our server seemed surprised that we knew about the late-night $12 menu and asked how we heard about it. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to others. Just know that the $12 food menu is available after 9 PM, and the main menu prices can be quite high. Despite the service hiccups, the food and atmosphere were excellent. The attached photos showcase the delicious salad and the restaurant's lovely scenery.

Food was below expectation. The veal chop was requested medium and without garlic. The steak was over cooked, with abundant garlic, and tasted like saw dust. It tasted like out of the freezer and thrown on the grill. This was not a $80 steak. The servers are not trained for this level of restaurant. Mine couldn’t uncork a bottle of wine, had to ask help. The server didn’t come and ask about the food… probably saw that it was a disappointment. They also messed up one of the appetizers. We paid $150 per person for a mediocre dinner experience. I don’t think I would come back.

Based on the prices of the menu the service should have been much more white tablecloth than the white tablecloths that were on the tables. The bread was served in big slabs that you could not really cut with a butter knife and only a small dish with a chip of butter in it was served for both people at the table to use. The Caesar salad was good but so large three to four people could eat it and it wasn't listed as a family style salad. The veal piccata was dry and tasteless, the featured green bean dish came out charred and dry so I asked to have it removed from my check since I could not eat it. The only winning dish was the chicken parmesan but the gnocchi that came with it were doughy and unappealing. Calamari appetizer was pretty good. When dishes were completed the dirty ones were not removed from the table in a timely fashion. New silverware was not offered with a new course. We were very disappointed in the overall dinner. As far as atmosphere goes, In the beginning of the meal the loudness and style of the background music made the whole ambience of the restaurant seem out of place. Later in the meal the music seemed to be a little better fitting with the theme. It's a beautiful restaurant it's a shame that the food doesn't live up to the look of the place. We spent $200 on a meal and I do not think I would return.

I’ve had the same food in other places for half of its cost at this restaurant and tasted far better. When you charging like a 5 start resort you better have cooks providing a food reflecting that. I wasn’t impressed at all with my veal dinner, nor with the appetizers we had. I wouldn’t recommend the veal plate at this time. The calamari appetizer was average and so was the stuffed peppers one.

Google
Wow. I have eaten in a lot of places and I have to say this may be one of my favorite. The Caesar salad dressing is unbelievable. The croutons in there are like a meal in itself. The fillet was melt in your mouth delicious. The crab shrimp scampi was to die for. What a great evening at a fantastic place. And the bourbon wasn’t too bad either.

The food was outstanding and cooked to perfection. The staff (Hailey and Gus) was very professional and accommodating to our every need. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a nice meal. We will definitely be back when in Pittsburgh again.

Google
Overpriced, meals are bland and overcooked. Had the fresh Mozzarella, was bland, entree linguini yo cuz, the lobster and shrimp were very overcooked and had little to no flavor. The no bake cheesecake was decent, for the price I expected way more flavor and perfectly cooked food.

Yelp
I enjoyed my dinner at Martorano's Prime. My boyfriend and I went on a Wednesday evening at 5:00pm. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. We had quick service the whole dinner, but had four different waiters/waitresses serving us at one point and were asked the same question multiple times. This was confusing because we were not sure who to ask if we needed anything. The bread that is offered is fresh and warm. The two oils were both delicious when dipped in. For an appetizer, we ordered the calamari. It was warm and crispy when it arrived at our table and the balsamic glaze was delicious. The Chicken Cutlet was huge and super flavorful. The Bucatini Carbonara is delicious. The pasta is cooked to a "true al dente" and fairly firm, which I love! The Chocolate Cake for dessert was absolutely our favorite part of dinner. The chocolate is extremely rich and the cream cheese icing was amazing. The Yo Cuz white chocolate topper was a great addition. I would like to come back and try other dishes at Martorano's Prime.

Yelp
Way over priced! Smells like smoke in restaurant because of the casino being a smoking is ok environment. Blah! The steak sandwich was literally flavorless with no seasoning and was no better than a Charley's steakery sandwich. It had chopped steak on it with hardly any cheese, which they said they couldn't change. I didn't want crappy processed fake American cheese, I would have preferred cheddar but they said no. The salad dressing was pretty good and the salad was big. The risotto was also good. But everything was still over priced and mostly Al la cart. I wouldnt don't go back.

Yelp
This is not terrible for a casino restaurant, but Steve will be pulling out of here soon, I am sure. The writing is on the wall. He never, ever speaks on this location or pushes it via his social media as he does the other locations. It's blatantly obvious. Perhaps he's just trying to get through with his contract with the casino. Went there on Friday as somewhat regular patrons. We were told when he visited in January, he did away with his happy hour menu. We always enjoyed a few items on that menu (cutlet sliders, pizza) in addition to our dinner. We were so surprised he did this. Very disappointing. No use in going back as they don't even offer the choice of getting our favorites on the regular menu. We always enjoyed our meal here, so it's sad to see this change.

Yelp
Before ordering ANY pasta dish, be aware of the fact there is only ONE single way they cook their noods: rare al dente plus. This means that if you like to eat your pasta cooked and edible, don't waste your time. The server and manager explained to us that it is a strict kitchen rule that is enforced - no allowance to customize since they will only make it one way. The toppings, sauce and everything else was fine but what good would it be without eating the virtually uncooked pasta with it? Might as well not even include pasta in my opinon! What I did enjoy were a few times I did their happy hour (in the evening during the weekdays after 9pm) with their wings, garlic fries and cheesesteak.

Yelp
Always a great time - Whitney is an awesome. Food is amazing- service and ambiance is spot on. Stop in if you haven't already!!

Yelp
Visited on New Years Eve 12/31/24. An absolute waste of money. The service was lousy, we had a complaint and our server basically justified it but said she would mention it to a manager, but nobody addressed the issue. To begin, the special menu for the evening was nothing but overpriced smoke and mirrors. An app, an entree, a side and desert for $130 per person. We were told the sides were "shareable" however, they were barely enough for one. We each chose a different side for this reason. Exactly 8 pieces of asparagus and less than one cup of mashed potatoes. My biggest complaint was that we opted for the $10 upcharge for sinantra style, and got literally ONE medium shrimp on top the steak. We dine out frequently, we try new places constantly and this experience ranks among the worst. I would not recommend this restaurant and I certainly would not return.

Yelp
Yo Cuz.... Steve has the Magic touch. The food was amazing and the service was top notch.

Yelp
I never post yelp reviews however its warranted. It was the best filet ive had in years

Yelp
The food is delicious, and the service is outstanding!!!! The cheesesteak is the best that you will find in Pittsburgh. The wait staff is extremely tentative to your needs. And when DJ Cake is there..... what else can I say Tonja Smith

Yelp
I hate to give a bad score or review, but we did not have a good experience for our Valentine's Day dinner on Friday. It started out great with a reservation at the time we wanted and friendly hostesses. We got there 15 minutes early and we were seated. Our server was very thorough but almost talked for 5 whole minutes. We were brought bread, one piece each...no more, and it was good. My husband dipped the bread in the sauce, and he started coughing uncontrollably. The sauce was super spicy but we were not told. The calamari was very good...our favorite part of the meal. We sadly will eat almost anything but we both did not like or finish our dinners. My chicken Parmesan had no flavor at all and the gnocchis tasted like bad imitation Alfredo. My husband's also did not have much flavor and was very very Al dente...almost hard. We also had no drinks for almost 15 minutes. It was just very sad that we had been wanting to go here for almost a year and after $140 we had to get fries before we went home.

Yelp
Great meal and service was outstanding for being game day. If you're going to be at the casino give it a try
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
Average food at expensive prices. Arrogant attitudes and policies. Was not allowed to order appetizers to start. Had to give entree's at same time. Wed night, not busy...makes no sense. I was waiting on my daughter who was 20-mins away after long flight and wanted to have apps ready for when she arrived. No reason to return.

Judy T.

Yelp
The menu is not large but there is a nice variety of items to choose from. The eggplant/cheese appetizer is out of this world. Can eat at the bar if you want something more casual but the service in the dining room is good, too.

Amy M.

Yelp
Always the best food and service! Thank you Robert and Joseph! Such an amazing experience each and every time!

Yelp
I took my dad to Martorano's Prime prior to a Pirates game for his birthday. We really enjoyed our meal and the service was top notch. The Mortorano's salad is absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back!

Ashlee L.

Yelp
This was my 4th or 5th time here and every time I have just wanted it o be amazing and it isn't. The service was good, but the food is mediocre at best. The gnocchi is the toughest I have ever had, chicken parm was blah, meatball was ok, the salad was good. It is the kind of menu I love, but the food could just be so much better
google avatar

Carolyn S.

Yelp
Lisa was absolutely fantastic with our service tonight. I always have a wonderful time, and even though my entree missed the mark, Lisa made sure I was well taken care of. I will definitely be back, if only for Lisa. We will change our date nights to Wednesdays to make sure that we get taken care of by Lisa.

Yelp
The ambiance looked very inviting but it didn't match the food. I ordered the shrimp Diablo with linguine. The sauce was delicious but some of the shrimp want not fully cooked. Disappointing. I told the waiter about the shrimp being undercooked and all he said was " oh sorry about " ummm no, that's not good enough... but I just let it go. Also, we were only served one piece of bread each... like come on!! I do not recommend my friends n family to dine here.
google avatar

Tamara G.

Yelp
I would probably never eat regular dinner here because it's very pricey. BUT, I stopped into the cool circular lighted bar after a show upstairs & snagged the last bar stool. They have a 9pm happy hour, but martinis are still $12! But, I had this absolutely delicious lemon water ice martini which was like a lemon drop with a ball of Italian ice in it, I had a second it was so good. Steaks are prime & run $75 & up. I had carbonara pasta which was divine. They bring it hot with the cracked egg on it & mix it with the cream & cheese right in front of you. Oh my! If you wanna splurge or your a big winner at the casino this is your place.

Luke S.

Yelp
Food service and ambiance were fabulous. Highly recommend the stuffed banana peppers!

Amh A.

Yelp
The food was great! What we don't like Is can't modify anything. If you don't want an ingredient or change the type of pasta noodle. There is ABSOLUTELY NO changing anything! Also wanted Parmigiano Cheese with our bread dipping oil. They wanted to charge us for it! We have eaten in more 5 star fine dining restaurants than I care to count, and I have NEVER heard of this ever! WHO charges you for Parmigiano cheese. I know it's Parmigiano Reggiano, I know it's expensive, but come on, it's not like we wanted a bowl of it! Crazy!

Yelp
Fantastic food. Great service. it was a great experience. the service was first class.

Kayla N.

Yelp
Patrick and Gregory were great co-servers! very friendly and attentive. The food was great as well. Overall great experience!

Bill H.

Yelp
Louise and Lisa are the best bartenders in the world. We've been here 100 times and it's always a treat.

Rayna B.

Yelp
The food is mediocre. The service was not the greatest. The ambiance was good. I went last night. My meal was $78. I asked to substitute the risotto. There was no money off or any substitutions. I changed to a steak sandwich and truffle fries. The waitress said no, "I can't do lettuce and tomato." For a $24 steak sandwich and allocart fries $16, I can't have a leaf of lettuce and a tomato...Do better Martorano. I won't be back!

Yelp
Went out for a socially distanced Valentine's Day socially-distanced dinner with my wife and our best friends. First the restaurant did very well ensuring people were complying with Covid related regulations. This included the staff and the guests. We shared our anti-pasta (appetizer) family style. We had prosciutto and had the Eggplant Stack. I could've eaten eggplant stack all by myself. It was delicious. The prosciutto was delicious. I had to 16 ounce New York Strip Martorano steak. It came with peppers and sharp Gouda shavings. The steak was tender and the peppers and cheese on top added a nice flavor. My wife had the lobster Francaise that she loved. Our friends both had two different steaks, one a filet and one a t-bone, and both loved them. We had risotto and truffle fries and sides that we shared. The risotto was creamy and the fries were flavorful. Because I was driving I didn't have a cocktail but the Darjeeling tea they served me was delicious. We also enjoyed the service from our servers Erin and Ryan. The had a DJ playing music that I'm is back to our HS days. The DJ's lights made it tough to get good pics of the food so sorry about that quality. We will definitely go back at some point.

Yelp
Best Ribeye in PGH - I've tried them all in my relentless search for Pittsburghs best ribeye and Martoranos wins the award. Prime cuts and perfect preparations with a gorgeous crust and seasoning with that dollop of butter on top just makes it for me every time. The ambiance is unique and entertaining since this place is inside the casino and always has mafia movies playing on repeat with a killer sound system Service is pretty much always on point with their host and wait staff - bar tenders know the recipes very well. Never had a bad cocktail here Try the ribeye!
google avatar

Mary W.

Yelp
Worth every penny! EVERYTHING about this meal was fantastic. The service, the appetizers, the dinner (maybe the best steak i ever had) , the wine and the dessert. Yep! We did it up and would do it again here. :). I strongly recommend the Sinatra style if you get a steak. Comes with a few shrimp (also fantastic) and a sauce I could drink.

Ted K.

Yelp
I like al dente, I do not like break my teeth uncooked pasta. The pasta I ordered was inedible and when I complained it was basically "that's the way we do it, deal with it". Totally unacceptable. The owner is a jerk.

Mary Pat F.

Yelp
Wish I could give zero stars. My Mother and I went there for dinner the Friday before Valentine's day. They advertised a dinner special available starting February 10th the 12 and 14th for two for 125.00. We were told it was an error and not available on the 10th. The sign outside also advertised the special started on the 10th. The money was not the issue it was the integrity that was being questioned. This special was advertised on line for over a month. Someone should have proof read the offer before it was posted. The manager gave us a free appetizer big deal. She should have honored the advertised special. I will never return because of the integrity issue. The service was very good but the way the manager handled everything was simply horrible. I would never return because of their false advertising. The manager should have honored what was advertised on their website. I was told the items advertised were not available at the time. They had ribeye and crab meat they could have substituted everything else. Someone needs to do a better job of prof reading before anything is posted on their website. I was happy that I was able to tell another couple that had planned on having dinner there. They decided not to eat there.
google avatar

Gena B.

Yelp
If I could give them a negative star review I would. The management mishandled a situation escalating it over an insignificant event. The dinner was awful, we were given the wrong entree, however they did try to rectify it. When we told the waiters that wasn't our order they insisted on setting it down at my place bc that's what the manager instructed them to do. I have never experienced such unprofessional service especially in an inadequate restaurant like Martorano Prime. The only positive was the DJ.

Scott L.

Yelp
Food was very good. Service attentive. Enjoyed the halibut special, veal piccata and eggplant stack. Music level more controlled than our previous visits. cost is still pricey.

Megan M.

Yelp
We came here for a date night and our experience from start to finish was amazing. Our server, Greg, went above and beyond to make our visit one to remember. Service was timely and efficient, even for how busy they were. The food was wonderful, and dessert was even better. Can't wait to come back!

Malcolm W.

Yelp
Great food and service !! Had the filet and I would definitely get it again. The strawberry shortcake was phenomenal.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Love this place! The staff is so friendly and the food is amazing. Best filet around.

Shadi R.

Yelp
Food is first class...ambiance is perfect...the olive oil...omg the olive oil. You'll love this place.

Mark M.

Yelp
I've been here twice now in the past six months. Both times were off the charts. At home I get all my beef from a quality local farm, so I'm generally unimpressed ordering steak at restaurants. But, I got the ribeye both times here with the Sinatra style prep, and they blew me away. They were quality cuts, aged well, and cooked perfectly with a nice sear, and that sauce is just superb. Each time the servers were professional and attentive, as a perfect complement for an overall exquisite dining experience.
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
As I look at my empty drink and side that has been here for 15 min without my meal I wonder how this happened. Barely anyone in here makes it that much worse. Not the first let down either. Food is good when it arrives but this place needs help

Captain C.

Yelp
Always enjoy our dining experience. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is always excellent and short rib bolognese is to die for. Love when they have soup on specials menu - wish they had it more. Long time calamari officiano and theirs is best ever.
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
My husband and I have been here twice. First, when it first opened and the experience was pretty close to five stars, most recently it was on the high end of three, but I still think four stars is fair overall. The fresh mozzarella was to DIE for the first time we had it, and pretty tasty the second (much more oily than the first time). The gnocchi was tasty though the portion was ridiculously small, and the large meatball was a wise purchase. The meat overall seems to be a consistent win. The food was not piping hot but it was acceptable. Had the chocolate cake for dessert, which was dry, but served with a nice sparkler to celebrate our anniversary. If you understand that it's fine dining but casino level fine, I think this place will meet your expectations.
google avatar

Cathy C.

Yelp
5 star . The 2 1/2 star rating is either a hit job or the people of Pittsburgh have lost their sense of taste. The Sicilian Pizza appetizer, eggplant stack, and meatball salad will knock your socks off. Veal Chop Sinatra will then rip your wig off!!! Another quality spot Steve. Great job!!

Anthony P.

Yelp
Service and food was bad. Our original server disappeared midway through our meal and we never saw hear again. Our next server was very attentive and pleasant. I ordered the Rigatoni and Meatball. The rigatoni was hard and crunchy. You couldn't cut it with a fork. When I reported this issue to GM he wanted to argue with me that Steve Martarano requires the pasta to be cooked that way. I found this interesting, and told him him to take it away. The veal was way undercooked and not safe to eat. We sent this back as well. Very disappointed as this was my second visit to this establishment and I have visited three other martarno's around the country. I'm done. will not visit again. For that price point I expect at the very least great service and satisfactory food.

Yelp
I've been following this opening since he announced it on Jimmy Kimmel! I've been a fan of Martoranos for about five years now. Having dined at the Lauderdale and Vegas locations several times, I was eager for the opening of Prime here in Pittsburgh. We dined last evening- their second night open for business. As expected, there were a couple of bumps in the road with the staff, but they were all courteous, professional and helpful, albeit a little nervous. The food and drinks!! A couple of manhattans, up were delicious and well crafted followed by some wine by the glass- nothing to write home about, but we also opted not to go for a bottle. We were offered warm bread with olive oil that was amazing. For appetizers we had (of course!) the meatball and salad as well as the homemade mozzarella. Very consistent with the standards of the other two restaurants. The meatball and salad may be the best thing I've eaten, anywhere. For entrees I had the chicken parm served with gnocchi in a cream sauce. Home run. My wife had the eggplant stack (appetizer on menu) which was also fantastic. For dessert we enjoyed tiramisu and a couple of espressos. The space is amazing... cool, well decorated and offers great views of the river. Can't wait to come back. Need to try the cheesesteak next!

Yelp
Service is outstanding. This is a steakhouse, not something you just walk into while randomly at the casino, you have to expect to pay steakhouse prices. Meal, service and entertainment are all 5 stars. I've been to almost every steakhouse in Pittsburgh .

Gardner K.

Yelp
Sloooowwww service. Sat at the bar for a good ten mins with menu before we were even approached about drinks. The lady who gave us our menus at the bar disappeared for about 20 mins after that? Thankfully the other bartender was on it. Then she disappeared for a half hour and we got stuck with the slower bartender. Anyways was about a 45-50 minute wait for penne a la vodka. Bartender said it wasn't that spicy and that was a lie. One bite and I was sweating. Also the strangest thing. They only play movies on the tv? No sports or anything, but Animal House was on. It was really cool seeing a chicks tits and then a guy debating whether or not he was going to rape her while I ate my food. Top notch experience. NOT!! This place is trash.

Courtney C.

Yelp
Not impressed at all. You can't substitute or modify your food. Also its offensive that you're at a higher end restaurant and you have to read at the bottom of the menu about the owner/chefs "balls"... who puts that on the menu? (even tho it's a saying, have some class) We got the spicy vodka pasta and strip steak with mashed potato. The mashed potato had so much garlic in them! You'll be tasting that garlic the rest of the night!! Also the food doesn't come out at the same time, they will bring out one dish and then a couple minutes later bring out another dish. They claimed that's normal, but its awkward when you're sitting there with your food waiting on others. Honestly the food isn't worth it, take your money and go to Hyde Park or Capital Grill.
