Great spot to admire the view on the Algiers bay, to walk with kids , unfortunately the parking lot is too little for such a landmark, and of course the parking guys walking around holding bats to remind you to pay them for not stealing you car !

A powerful and iconic symbol of Algeria's struggle. The monument's striking design and panoramic views over Algiers are breathtaking. A deeply moving tribute to the sacrifices made for independence – a must-visit for understanding Algeria's spirit. 🇩🇿

Every country has the monument or the touristic place that identifies the tourism, for me, Martyrs Memorial is the Star of Argels, you can't leave without going there. Or, you can't say you where in Algiers while you didn't go there.

• The memorial opened on July 5, 1982, marking the 20th anniversary of Algeria’s independence. • It features three sweeping concrete "palm leaves" that meet mid-air and cradle an eternal flame—a powerful tribute to the martyrs of the war of independence. • Each "palm" holds a statue of a soldier—crafted by Polish sculptor Marian Konieczny—symbolizing the Popular Resistance, the National Liberation Army, and the People’s National Army. • Beneath the memorial lies the National Museum of El Mujahid (also referred to as the Moudjahid Museum), an amphitheater, and crypts that present artifacts and exhibits on Algeria's struggle.

This place is really impressive and there are some brilliant views across the botanical gardens, city and coast. There is a large area with cafes and shops that gives the best views of the memorial. You can only get to certain bits but its impressive from every angle. If you are going in to Algiers, this is one place you should visit.
