Marugame

I took my son to Marugame Udon in High Street Kensington for lunch, and honestly—this place blows Wagamama out of the park. Everything is made to order, the noodles are freshly hand-made, and you can genuinely taste the difference. We both opted for the small bowls so we could sample more from the menu, and it was the best decision. From the first slurp to the last bite, every dish hit the spot. We left with full, happy bellies and zero regrets. A special shoutout to their bottled lemonade—it’s incredible. Super refreshing and the perfect balance to cut through the spice from the dishes. Service was quick and efficient too. We were in, fed, and out within 30 minutes, without ever feeling rushed. If you haven’t tried Marugame Udon yet, go. You won’t be disappointed.

Very authentic Japanese fast food. Relatively cheap considering the location and really good Udon and many sides. However just as a note the price is probably x4 of what you pay in Japan. London magic I have to say 🤣

I really want to like this place as I'm a big udon and marugame fan. However, the udon was too soft and lack of the bite texture. It was very disappointing as I thought I would get the same as in Japan. But it wasn't even close. I make better udon with a pack of frozen one at home. The broth was tasty as it came. I added a bit of ginger and chili flakes and that made the soup quite tasty too. The onsen egg was good as it should be. If you are there for the udon and expect a squidgy texture - I suspect that you'd be disappointed.

The Marugame serves som delicious fast food dishes. Although no sake was available only some drinks that did not have the sake taste.

I would like to leave a sincerely positive review about this place. The food is very good for a chain restaurant. The service is top-notch. The atmosphere inside is very spacious and easy-going. Located close to the station, which is nice for a quick food. I would definitely recommend this place.I ate the Japanese curry and it was very delicious. Priced fairly and highly commended place.

Met up with a friend for a quick lunch and Marugame was good. I had the Katsu Chicken with Noodles and my friend had Pork Udon. The food could have been a bit hotter but other than that would go again. Prices are reasonable and service very friendly.

The food is always good and fast service but the staff are always so friendly and smiley. Highly recommend going here.

It’s such a nice system. You just get a plate, order your food, (here’s something I love!), and you get to see the food being made! (I’ve always loved that, it’s just nice to see how they do it). There’s a variety of non udon goods as well. You pay at the end, and can still add toppings. I’ve been a multitude of times and the food has been the same absolute perfection every time. I cannot recommend it more!
