Had a really wholesome and good experience. You won't regret coming here, great for date night imo. Bring someone you love here and it'll be a good time! 5 ⭐ Atmosphere They call out when fresh tempura comes out the frier and they deeply bow when you're presented with your bowls. The lighting is good, the seats are actually really comfortable, and seating is cozy without feeling closed in. The view is nice at night. 5⭐ Vibes I'm a cane user and the cooks were extremely helpful, helping my partner & I with our trays. The Staff were friendly and involved without being hovery, struck me as genuine fellas. 4⭐ Food (REALLY!) This is 4⭐ only because 5⭐ would be more possible in a dedicated sit-down restaurant aiming for really expensive cooking. I didn't have a single thing I didn't really, really enjoy: the noodles are homemade, everything is well spiced and the tempura is delicious & fresh. The specialty lemonade is fantastic also, I recommend it for sure.

This was my third time visiting this wonderful Japanese restaurant! I had tried the broth soup bowls before beef and chicken udon , and honestly I wanted to see if their Katsu Chicken would be on par with their soup bowl dishes! Honestly I was surprised that they can do both, and the rice along with the Katsu was very tasty and not too sweet as it was tolerable! The Gyoza dumplings were also tasty and very tender, with that nice balanced crispy element to it. The sauce was packaged so not much to say there, but it compliments the dumplings well! Also their tempura and green onion toppings which you can never frankly go wrong with! Overall, I’d give this spot a 8.5/10 as everything was delicious and I was truly blown away by the Katsu dish! Overall a great experience at Marugame Udon!

Love this place. The food is great, and I love the seating and atmosphere. It’s a very chill and relaxing environment. The customer service is TOP TEIR. Every time I come here they are so nice and make the dinning experience 100% better. They really care about the customers. One time this guy went through the entire ingredient list on a sauce because we are vegetarian. Another time they fried this tempura for us after they ran out. This one lady made sure our order was all good when we ordered Togo. LOVE THIS PLACE 10/10 RECOMMEND!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE TOP TEIR HERE!

Google
Simply amazing. Delicious udon and meal. Love how you can customize each bowl by sauce or broth, then choosing which tempura you’d like on the side (additional cost ~$2/ea). I love the Nikutama / curry nikutama especially. Once you pay for your food, you seat yourself and leave once you’re done. Super quick and easy with each bowl cooked right in front of you. I’ve visited the location in Honolulu and this one in Carrollton doesn’t disappoint! 10/10 would recommend!

Google
A bit different for me. You order and they make the udon right there really quick and give it to you in a tray. Then you can slide down and pick out any tempura stuff and pay. Very easy and fast. I really liked the udon I got and also the iced matcha (not too sweet, very earthy like I like it)

Google
The udon served at Marugame is always cooked to perfection having and the broth contains a deep umami flavor. There’s no boring flavors here! But what I think sets this apart from most other places is how much you can customize your order. You want more tempura flakes or none at all? They got you. Their tempura is actually really good too. Sure it can get pricey if you grab a lot, but it definitely can add additional flavors and texture to your meal. The only gripe I have is some of the tempura will be sold out so you’re not guaranteed to have what you’re craving for.

Google
I have dined with Muragame in Honolulu and I was super excited that they have a Carrollton location. I took my daughter here for lunch and the staff was super kind as she wasn’t sure what she wanted. After deciding on the Sweet Beef Udon and the Fried Tofu Udon, we moved to the Katsu bar, which had a lot to choose from. We settled on chicken, fried egg, and a tofu. The seating was plentiful and clean. The food was DynOmite!!! I highly recommend Muragame for a great casual dining experience with amazing authentic Japanese Udon. I will be back every time I am in Dallas.

Google
Marugame Udon Japanese Noodles & Tempura is literally the best place for udon! It's always so tasty—I always order the curry style one. The place is always clean, and the staff are always nice and respectful. Overall, it's a 5-star udon place!

Yelp
Absolutely the SILKIEST udon noodles I've had in my life (up until I tried Raku in New York recently). For being a large chain restaurant, the ingredients in my bowl of udon were pretty fresh, and the soup was pretty clean. The looong line of different tempura's were fun to walk past and select by yourself. I came during off hours and the most of the tempura's were half cleared out, if not completely gone. But the cooks behind the counter did politely offer to cook whatever I requested fresh for me. The next meal will be to see how their curry taste. #327

Yelp
I liked it! But didn't love. Order: Reg size BK udon, no meat or egg add ons. 2 pieces of shrimp tempura and a drink. The flavorful broth was delicious and my favorite part, so I really wish there was more of it. It was mostly noodle. The Udon, tempura flakes, green onion, shrimp tempura, all of it was quite basic. Satisfying, but basic. Wanted more broth. I'm sure it gets more exciting when you add the proteins, soft eggs, and extras, but then the price goes up too. I wanted to get to know their bowl of soup just stripped down in its pure form. BK was nice flavor. Before tip it came to $16 for a plain lunch. Nice staff, nice clean dining area, good atmosphere, very fast.

Saori S.

Yelp
No Sandos any more. Very Sad. Their udon noodle and soup is same flavor and texture with Japanese locations. This time we visited with my sister in law who is on wheelchair. The aisle at Dining area is a bit narrow for wheelchair.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Tasty udon shop! Very much like Japan- choose a bowl and then add extra toppings if you want more. They have a style for most diets including pescaterian and vegan options! The dashi broth is very tasty and noodles are yummy. I had the nikutama and added tempura shrimp. The kitsube bowl was also tasty. Very satisfying. Service is very fast and the restaurant is clean and well maintained. Nice spot for some authentic udon!

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I got the Nikutama Udon, made it spicy, and added shrimp tempura. Overall, it was yummy! Pretty simple meal, with nothing too complex about it. This was my first time. Next time, I would just get the BK udon (same thing just no egg/sweet beef). And I would've just added the shrimp tempura, spicy chicken katsu, and tempura sweet potato to it. The chili powder that they have next to the water and utensil station is so good! I liked to add it to the tempura sauce. We went around 11:45am, so there was not a line at all. But it did pick up while we were there.

Kathy P.

Yelp
It was empty when we walked in a little after 3pm on Tuesday but quickly filled up surprisingly, considering the day and time. Loved having many options for udon. We ordered several udon bowls with different toppings and flavors, fried tempura - sweet potatoes, shrimp and zucchini. The sweet potato was my favorite. Just out of the oil, hot and crispy. Loved it. The udons were all delicious. Our crowd of seven enjoyed down to slurping the soup at the bottom of our bowls. It's set up was clean and efficient, with self serve fountain drinks and plastic ware and, of course, chopsticks

Vic D.

Yelp
Good spot if you would like a variety of udon. The staff is friendly and are very accommodating to requests. The noodles are made well and the broth is flavorful. They do have a nice hot bar with tempura and sandwiches to pick from.

Marsha C.

Yelp
The look and feel make it seem like you are in a Japanese restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our favorite is the kitsune curry udon (beef). It's super flavorful and we get it every try time. We also tried the tempura shrimp and it was great - not too much batter which is the way I like it.

Saemyi L.

Yelp
I got this through the Too Good To Go deal. It was an awesome deal for just $5.99! I got 3 different tempura and udon with generous amount of toppings. I'd say everything was great except the noodles. Since it was a TGTG deal, unfortunately the noodles weren't fresh and were pretty soggy. The tempura was really good, esp the zucchini one. I'd love to try their udon by dining in just so that I have more accurate experience of their udon.

Brandon D.

Yelp
If you ask me what my favorite restaurants in Dallas were, marugame udon would definitely make the list. It's basic Japanese comfort food but they do it so well. They have an assembly style line where you get a tray, your udon, and then select your own tempura or sandos. The line usually moves pretty fast. I usually get their curry beef nikutama but this time I opted for their beef nikutama, which has a lighter yet flavor packed broth. I also got a sweet potato tempura as a side. The beef is so tender and I love the tempura crunch flakes and green onions. You're allowed to request them to add more of them for free. I add a bunch of shichimi pepper flakes which adds a ton of flavor, it's not that spicy either. I liked my tempura as well. They keep their tempura sauce in a heated container and it's pretty light. You could also dip your tempura in nikutama broth. I would usually request them to make a tempura fresh for me because some times they have been sitting out there for awhile and lose their crispiness.

Stephanie K.

Yelp
This place is still one of my favourite udon restaurant in DFW. It's a shame that their other locations close down and have to drive here to get my fix. We got 2 curry nikutama (large & reg), chicken katsu, gyoza & a calamansi drink. From the top, curry nikutama is delicious! We each added a hot gekikara fireball (hot spicy paste) and it's good but I think I'd skip that and get it the way it was made. Just a personal preference. Udon is bouncy and hearty! Love at first and final bites! Chicken katsu was really dry so I'd skip that next time. First time trying the gyoza... I'm not a fan. It tasted really dry too. For the calamansi drink, I enjoyed it! I'm a fan of calamansi fruit so I was surprised to see it here! Will be back! Thank you!

Tara W.

Yelp
As someone who prefers udon over ramen, Marugame Udon always brings me so much joy! Especially since we dont have a lot of udon places here in Dallas. I've had Marugame in asia before and this Dallas location did not disappoint. My go to is the nikutama or the curry nikutama if i'm feeling something heavier. Some of the tempura could be a hit or miss. On my most recent visit i got the shrimp tempura and chicken which was surprisingly not dry at all. Those tempura prices add up so choose wisely!

John C.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by this chain udon shop! The interior was huge, with lots of seating and well laid-out order area. We ordered the Nikutama udon, loved the broth and sweet beef, and the egg was a nice bonus. We ordered some tempura pieces as add-on, they're self served so you can pick the pieces yourself. I think they're hit or miss. The chicken was really juicy and flavorful but the sweet potato tasted dry and bland. Overall the udon experience was great, we recommend!

Hannah L.

Yelp
This is my first time visiting this restaurant and it was a decent experience. Ambiance: There is loud music and brighter lighting. There are booths and plenty of tables and chairs. The staff is not that friendly or helpful... Tempura: The tempura was very mediocre. I do not like how it doesn't taste fresh at all and it was lukewarm when I was eating it. Beef Udon: The udon was pretty good the broth was nice and there is plenty of beef inside. The beef is sweet and has good flavor. Overall, the udon was alright but nothing too special to be honest.

Daniel C.

Yelp
Everyone should try udon noodles! They offer different kinds of proteins and broths and a variety of smaller bites. I have not tried the rice bowls but the chicken katsu would be an easy choice. This place is simplistic and to the point.

lydia t.

Yelp
I dream of this food. I went my first time 2 years ago and the smell alone when you walk in is captivating to the taste buds. It's a beautiful restaurant inside! The beef udon is my favorite and I always add an egg.

Jo L.

Yelp
Decided to come back and try this place again. And it was a completely different experience this time! They changed management and you can tell! Ruben, the new manager is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful, glad I was able to come back in and give it another go! Tempura was made fresh for us.

Manvita M.

Yelp
My sister recommended this place to me coz she had been to it when they went to Hawaii and said amazing things about the place. We drove a lot to finally try it out. We went here on a Monday night - the place was pretty much empty and there was no line to order. We quickly placed in a couple of orders. I ordered the Tan Tan, my husband ordered the Nikutama. We did add in a few add ons like Shrimp Tempura, Squid Tempura and Potato. I'm a big fan of ramen being piping hot - but it was super normal temperature when we had our first bite - so that was quite disappointing. The rich flavor of ramen was completely lacking and it didn't reach our expectations.

Hikari N.

Yelp
I really wanted to give it a little higher of a mark but it fell short on a few things. First off, the flavors of everything are really great and has a very homey feel to it. It's definitely a great place to eat if you're looking for some Japanese "comfort" food. The inside was very clean as well as the worker in the dining was attentive and super nice. To preface, when I went with a group of friends there was at most 4 people in the shop. Unfortunately they were out of a lot of things. Many tempura were out, the ones that were out were flimsy and when we asked if they'll make some more (considering we were all trying to get it) they flat out told us no. I wish there was a lot. But more soup broth they'd have added. You can see in the photo there's not much in there. If I'm ever in town again I would try it out again, but with lower expectations

Tiffany T.

Yelp
I got the Tonkatsu & my husband got the Curry Nikutama. My broth was good but I wished they sold chili oil to make my broth spicer. The curry was delicious. Each tempura sides was about $2.50+ for each piece which is expensive to me. It's a very casual and fast sit down place but doesn't feel like you're sitting in a cafeteria. The ambience & decor is nice, unfortunately I left still feeling hungry despite ordering extra.

Joanna Q.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I, as well as little brother, are obsessed with this place! They don't have anything like this in Houston, so we always pay Marugame Udon a visit every time we come to Dallas. My little brother and boyfriend usually get the Nikutama (hot) and I always get the Tonkotsu. I also love their side dish of fried sweet potato. When you walk in, you go up and tell them which noodle dish you would like and they make it for you. Then, they place it on a tray and you go down the row and choose which side dishes you want. You pay at the end and can buy drinks: I love their Matcha Latte, it tastes refreshing and not too sweet. The inside has spacious seating and the service is always super welcoming and helpful. This has become one of my favorite spots for a quick, warm meal. They also have TV screens broadcasting the live streets of Japan, which is very cool.

Emanuel P.

Yelp
It was our first time at Marugame Udon. At first, we were surprised by the menu and the ordering process, but it was easy to navigate. We chose the Tan Tan with a side of the Gekikara Fireball, which added the right amount of spice. The service was great, and the food was delicious. They are known for their freshly made daily noodles, which were very tasty. The restaurant is very spacious with plenty of seating. We will definitely come back to try other options.

Kacie D.

Yelp
HOLLLLLLYYY. Please try this spot What I got: Tonkotsu Udon. The broth?? Amazing - like I could honestly drink it out of a cup and straw. I sprinkled a bit of chili furikake over my bowl - mmm, chef's kiss. Only complaint is that the soft boiled egg is more of a hard boiled egg. Nonetheless, extremely delicious meal. Excited to try their Curry Nikutama & Tan Tan next. Environment: Plenty of clean tables & seats. Service: Above and beyond. The guy noticed I was extremely confused looking at the menu and came around the counter to help me. Thought that was very kind and thoughtful.

Jessie C.

Yelp
Marugame is so yummy!! So many different options to choose from but all with the same basic udon. Service is fast and tempura is self-serve! My favorite is the chicken katsu curry with udon noodles. The curry nikutama is also delicious! Definitely recommend coming here for authentic bouncy Japanese udon noodles nom nom

Helen G.

Yelp
First time here, I ordered it for takeout. Normally I don't review takeout but this was an exception! I got the kitsune udon and the egg and zucchini tempura. Everything was packaged so beautifully! The udon soup packaging had a separate layer on top to hold all the ingredients while the broth was on the bottom, making sure the noodles didn't get soggy. They also packed the tempura sauce and packed everything very well so it was warm and crunchy! Really impressed. The Kitsune udon was very good, I liked the flavor and chewiness of the noodles. The Kitsune was sweet and was quite large, I enjoyed this. The tempura was also ready good! It was battered lightly and crunchy, but was not greasy at all! The egg one was super good, it is the sweet tamago but tempura style and was sweet and soft. The zucchini was also great! I would definitely come here to takeout again and want to try dining in!

Jenn T.

Yelp
throughly enjoyed my visit to marugame! luckily we arrived before lunch rush however, as a warning keep in mind that the line can get pretty long. i definitely ate with my eyes because wow the portions for the large is so big! i got the niku curry udon and it was delicious! i also got shrimp tempura and a croquette on the side, the shrimp tempura was great but i've had tastier croquettes. in my opinion it is kinda small for the price. the inside of the restaurant is super clean and you are served cafeteria style. there's lots of seating also!

Howard S.

Yelp
I have been here many times and love their standard beef - udon noodles. Today I tried their curry udon for the first time and it was five stars - really good. Service is fast and friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable. I highly recommend.

Paula C.

Yelp
I tried this location because the Honolulu location is always super busy. It was... ok. When we arrived at like 545 pm on a Saturday they barely had any tempura layed out. I guess that's good right? At least it'll be fresh when you eat it. But of the three that were available, the squid tempura was my favorite. I got the regular sized Tan Tan with extra Bok choy. The broth was creamy with a slight kick. It was too salt for my taste.

Melanie T.

Yelp
The thing that attracted me to try this place was the handmade udon noodles. I did order this for delivery but I feel like it should still taste good even if I'm not eating at the restaurant. Honestly, I know this place has long lines in other cities but this was kind of disappointing. The udon dish tasted kinda artificial like the instant packs that you get from the store. It didn't taste fresh. It just felt like something was lacking. The tempura was just okay. Nothing special about it. If you order to go or delivery, reheat it in the air fryer to give it the crisp back.

Phi H.

Yelp
This was so freaking delicious! If you like udon, you'll love it. If you don't like udon, try it and love it. There isn't a large menu to overwhelm you. So I picked something my taste buds watered thinking about the flavors. Easy enough to order. Walk up front, look at the menu, and tell them your order. Follow the count to pick up your bowl and continue down the line for a variety of a la carte tempura dishes. Friendly customer service. Enough chatter. What to say is the curry udon bowl is awesome! Get the large so you can get full and don't have regrets. Japanese curry was velvety smooth, savory, slightly sweet and coated the udon noodles with every bit. I almost licked the bowl.

Marianne C.

Yelp
It's always a pleasure and an absolute delight for my taste buds when visiting Marugame Udon. I always their get their Kake but had the pleasure of trying Curry Nikutama on my first very first visit. Exploring their tempting tempura offerings. Is always a treat as well. Let's start with the star of the show--the Kake udon. The moment the steaming bowl of udon noodles in savory broth placed on my tray, I knew I was in for a treat. The udon noodles were cooked to perfection--soft, yet with a satisfying chewiness. The broth, made with a delicate balance of flavors, was comforting and rich, adding depth to each slurp. The simplicity of the dish allowed the quality of the ingredients to shine, making it a true delight for udon lovers. To complement my udon experience, I decided to indulge in Marugame Udon's tempura a la carte. The tempura selection was impressive, featuring an assortment of lightly battered and perfectly fried items. From crispy shrimp and vegetables to succulent chicken katsu, each piece was a delightful blend of textures and flavors. The tempura batter was light and crispy, not overpowering the natural flavors of the ingredients. It was clear that attention to detail was given to ensure that each piece of tempura was executed with precision. What impressed me about Marugame Udon was not just the exceptional quality of their food, but also the interactive dining experience. The open kitchen concept allowed me to witness the skilled chefs hand-stretching and preparing the udon noodles right before my eyes. The aroma of the freshly cooked noodles and the sizzling of tempura added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. The staff members were friendly, efficient, and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Marugame Udon offers more than just a satisfying meal--it provides a glimpse into the artistry and authenticity of Japanese udon cuisine. The attention to detail, the quality of ingredients, and the interactive experience make it a go-to destination for udon enthusiasts and those looking for a memorable dining experience. FYI, if you stay long enough you might catch a small plane landing right on the Air Park just next to the restaurant across the parking lot.

Shwetha B.

Yelp
The vegan udon bowl was delicious, refreshing and comforting. Freshly made noodles was excellent too! Get there on a cold day and you won't be disappointed!

Mando R.

Yelp
Sadly, would NEVER come here again. My family and I were spending a couple days in Carrollton and I had my eye on this place for some time. The place looked very nice, comfortable, and the kitchen is open behind glass so you can see them prepare your food. We arrived on Friday night, around 8pm, and we were all excited to try this spot. We looked over the menu for just a couple minutes as we waited on a lady in front of us. Customer was trying to communicate something with the girl behind the counter, in which there was some issue because the customer repeated herself several times before walking away. We didn't think much about it and once we decided on what we wanted, I approached the girl at the ordering area, and IMMEDIATELY could see she was not in a great mood. I decided to ignore and just be nice and polite, who knows, maybe it would help! I began telling her my order and she just kept asking me to repeat over and over. No help at all. In the repetition of the order, NUMEROUS TIMES, she still got the order wrong. Instead of the curry rice bowl my wife wanted, she gave us teriyaki. We just moved along. When I sat down to eat, the broth was cold. I enjoy my broths very hot, so I went and nicely asked if it was suppose to be cold (my first time here), and she just looked at me crazy. Clearly, she didn't want to do anything about it. I told her I was simply asking because I noticed another customer and her kid had similar bowls and theirs were steaming hot, I could physically see the steam.. She was like "I mean..." and then looked away at the other girl at the counter. She hesitated and truly just didn't want to do anything, and I told her I didn't really like cold broths, but it that's how it was suppose to be that I'd take it back. She asked me which one it was and was like "okay, well I can re-do it.." with just every possible attitude gesture on her face. I said okay, walked back to sit down. I waited awhile and eventually she came back. I noticed the broth looked lighter, not like the first one.. I had chose the umami packed broth with beef. Also, the egg was missing. I asked her if it was the same one, and she, again, had an attitude. I told her there wasn't even an egg, to which she kinda laughed and said, "I mean you had already ate it...". This wasn't true, I had simply broken it and scrambled it into the rest of the bowl, the way it's suppose to be. She was so aggravating at this point, I told her, "you know what, it's fine... I'll just take it". It's so unfortunate that a place with this much potential has employees like these. Everyone else was nice, but this young lady made it the worse experience for my family and I. Not spending my money here again. Food was not bad, had decent flavor, and noodles were made nicely, but the employee made the entire meal unenjoyable.

Maddie V.

Yelp
I came back to try the BK Udon and it was so so good! I added an egg as well as the shrimp and sweet potato tempura. I will definitely keep getting the sweet potato, it was so yummy and soft. The noodles were super chewy and fresh and the soup was just as good as the last time I ate here. The BK udon is only $7, so it's a super great price for what you get. Marugame is turning into one of my favorite restaurants for its affordable and delicious udon!

Yizhen L.

Yelp
The days of visiting marugame only when I visit Honolulu is over when I found out this popular udon chain restaurant has opened in Dallas. I was visiting Dallas and ate here twice during my visit. The service is super friendly, fast, and there is no wait like the Hawaiian location. (I think I've waited over 30 minutes before to get in at the Honolulu location). The tempura is slightly greasy, but that's acceptable for me. The udon is absolutely delicious. I can't get enough. The noodles are long, chewy, and hold their own, even after being in the broth for a while. The inside is nice and cozy, with beautiful lighting. I wish it was closer to downtown Dallas where I was staying, but it's still worth the drive in my opinion.

Chad T.

Yelp
Had the chicken curry katsu udon. Pretty solid flavors, could use more seasoning I would say though. Good fast service, clean inside.

Aimee M.

Yelp
Boyfriend and I were disappointed by this experience. We've both visited Japan and also have several good similar options in our area (Plano), and came out here because we had seen it in passing. I got the Tonkotsu and bf got the beef curry. He got a side of tempura and I got a side of gyoza. The most we can really say is that bf liked the tempura well enough, and the free tempura bits that it came with was good. Bf found the food bland and said most of it had no flavor. The best thing I personally had was the gyoza, which still tasted like reheated freezer gyoza. The chashu in my tonkotsu was weird, chewy, and almost tasted uncooked. The soda machine tasted completely uncarbonated and wasn't cold at all. My whole meal was $20, which is more than some nice ramen places I've had. I don't think we'll be back, seeing as we have better and cheaper options in our local area.

Celeste N.

Yelp
I've been to different locations for Marugame and I can say this was not my favorite. When I got my soup it was luke warm. I tried my boyfriend's soup and his was a little warmer but still not really hot. We came on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy so the tempura was sitting out for awhile before we got to them so they were thick and chewy. In the bright side, the noodles were well cooked lol

Anna H.

Yelp
This is our fourth time coming here and we've enjoyed it more every time! This time I got the Nikutama it had a sweeter taste and I ended up finishing the whole bowl without sharing a bite! My husband always gets the Curry Nikutama which he always likes. This location different from the Hawaii location isn't stocked up on their fried items as much this time we got the shrimps and the croquet and a fried chicken- I wanted a chicken katsu but they didn't out one out until we were fully done eating!

This is an affordable place to get some quick, simple udon and tempura. Depending on when you go, you'll enjoy a quiet meal with minimal interaction with staff as you just really speak with them while ordering.

Yelp
This place is fantastic for udon, tempura, and iced matcha! I visit every month after I get a facial at a spa down the street. I love that you walk in, order, and immediately your food is prepared in front of you and handed to you before you sit down. They even have a togarashi shaker by the napkins and drinks so you can make anything spicier! They also have a vegan udon option! Their servers are nice and the restaurant is definitely family friendly. It's a great place to bring the kiddos!

Yelp
Tried here for lunch today! There was quite a bit of people there for Sunday lunch. I liked the style of ordering. Enjoyed the Beef Soup--the udon noodles were delicious. I liked the chicken tempura as well. The booths were nice to sit in and the menu was easy to read. Would come again!

Yelp
Amazing udon restaurant with fast ans great service! Ordered the Nikitama hot and it was rich in flavor and extremely filling! The restaurant was busy but not too loud on a Sunday afternoon! 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
If you love noodles, you've got to try this place. When you first walk in you order your meal and they serve you the noodles, broth, meat, and toppings. Then you walk around the side and you have the choice to "add on" tempura to your plate - they have shrimp, squid, chicken, chicken katsu and a few more. We ordered the Curry Nikutama and it was really good! But warning that because these noodles are soupy, it's very easy to splash on what you are wearing (we couldn't avoid it and tried very hard).

Yelp
We decided to try this place after visiting the original in Hawaii. We remembered the unique tasting broth with freshly-made, hand-pulled noodles that we fell in love with the first time around. We ordered the Nikutama and the Tonkotsu to keep things simple. We've had the Nikutama previously in Hawaii, and we thought this noodle soup at this location matched our expectations. The sweet broth, paired with soft boiled egg and beef made this entree an exceptional choice. The Tonkotsu on the other hand wasn't that great. We've had better tonkotsus at ramen-specialty restaurants. The broth wasn't rich enough and the chashu pork didn't seem to have much flavor. We gave a 4-star rating primarily because of the slow service. When we arrived at 5pm, there were 3 workers in view and there wasn't anyone in front of us. But we still had to wait 5-10 minutes before anyone greeted us to take our order. We might try them again during the weekend when they're better staffed.

Yelp
After a long traveling day and the weather cooling down, we needed something to warm our tummies. The selection is different than what I remember when visiting a location in Hawaii, but the food is consistently delicious. We visited later in the evening and there were a small amount of sides left, sadly no musubis. Great place for o visit!

Yelp
Really solid bowl of udon. I haven't had a bad meal yet. It is a little pricy & I don't love that all the add-ons cost extra. But you can get a discount if you download their app. Also pro tip: check them out on Too Good to Go! Udon holds up surprisingly well the next day.

Yelp
My hubby and I visited this place while in Hawaii. This is an extremely popular noodle place. The line to dine in was very long so we ordered from the Togo window. Average service but tasty food. I ordered the curry udon and my husband ordered the beef udon. I knocked off one star because our food was barely lukewarm.

Yelp
Marugame Udon is a great place to get some fresh udon & tempura. If you are not into udon, they also have some rice bowls & sandwiches available! Our favorites are the Tonkotsu & Curry Nikutama They have fast & friendly service. Plus, their place is cute & tidy. Will come back again! For more food pics, follow "the.pikachew" on Instagram!
