The Best Of The Rest: 28 More New London Restaurants We Loved This Year - London - The Infatuation

"Of all the overseas chains opening in London to much fanfare, Marugame Udon is the most welcome and best value of the lot. The Japanese udon chain is in Liverpool Street, The O2, and will soon be in Oxford Street as well. All welcome places for hand-pulled udon costing around £3." - jake missing, rianne shlebak

London’s Best Restaurants For A Quick Meal - London - The Infatuation

"Of all the overseas chains opening in London to much fanfare, Marugame Udon is the most welcome and best value of the lot. The Japanese udon chain’s Liverpool Street location offers handmade udon starting at around £3. Slide your tray around the cafeteria-style setup while telling the chefs what noodles and toppings you're after, go past the heat lamp glow of tempura, grab a drink, and pay up. By the time you eat you’ll probably have time to spare." - jake missing

Nice selection of food. Cafeteria style, get your food pay first and then have a seat. I enjoyed the small side dishes but they do add up. The takoyaki tasted really good. There was no rice available. There was a queue. There were a lot of seats despite how busy it was. It can be a bit cleaner.

Delicious udon. We also liked the crispy fried side dishes (sweet potato, prawn, edamame, seaweed, etc), and chocolate dorayaki. We could add in condiments we wanted, and it was all good. Seating areas are available inside, and outside. Toilet for customers is available.

Great quality of food—everything was fresh, flavorful, and served quickly. Truly a delightful experience! The dishes were not only delicious but also presented beautifully. Special shoutout to Shiva, who was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

Sit in for a quick lunch after shopping. The service was friendly and quick. Food came super hot and tasty. Prices are reasonable. But the restaurant itself needs a deep clean…you can not not see that it’s dirty. And I get that O2 is a busy venue…

These tastes are high standard as Japanese real udon. I often go to Marugame in Japan and the most of their menu in the UK was quite different from Japanese branches. However, I like these unique udon and I was satisfied with them as a Japanese. But these are only a few items as hot snacks like tempuras, which was sad for me. Anyway highly recommend!

Really disappointed about the service. We waited in the queue for around 20 minutes to order the food and then another 15 minutes for the food to be ready, also they didn’t apologise and didn’t even say that some vegetables will be missing, I had teriyaki rice. The lady didn’t have gloves that was serving the food , neither did the woman who was taking out the noodles from the water, hence why I didn’t order noodles, The toilets were in a bad state and also the place wasn’t that clean. The management needs to the hygiene seriously here. My first time here but won’t be coming here again

Look at the video. Theres literally small flies all around the toppings area The lid of the containers for sauces are also fully open with flies around The food itself is okay , curry sauce not hot enough Plates are left for hours without any cleaning

Not the greatest; the Udon noodle wasn't good at all sadly, very dense and firm. Most of the condiments at the station was empty, we asked the staff to refill but got ignored... Tried their summer special Carbonara which was terrible, no flavour and very thick...
