Marukin Ramen Review - Downtown - Portland, OR - The Infatuation

"An export from Tokyo, Marukin Ramen serves a rotating menu of ramen options, depending on which day of the week you go. Regardless, their classic Tonkotsu ramen is always available, along with fried chicken, dumplings, and plenty of beer and sake. The Pine Street Market location is great for a quick weekday lunch or before a night out downtown, but there’s a larger spot on East Burnside you can check out before or after having a few beers at nearby Burnside Brewing Company. photo credit: Caitlin Cooper" - Penelope Bass

It is a roadside ramen stall that serves tonkosu (pork bone broth) style ramen. Soup base is thick and flavourful but overly salty. Toppings are standard. Because it is the only ones that open late, it serves to satisfy that empty feeling after a night of alcohol.

Really loved the spicy 🍜 ramen. Definitely recommend on a cold rainy day. I ordered the soft boiled egg too with the fish egg roll. Satisfied me completely.

Visited during lunch time. Order their spicy ramen and regular ramen. Everything is slightly cheaper during lunch. Taste of ramen was ok. Soup can be more rich. Rice was slightly hard. Environment was clean and service was great!

Excellent, nourishing hot meal on a cold day while checking out the neighborhood. They have an English menu and good ramen. We opted for the thicker noodles for an extra 100 yen, perfect al dente. We had one spicy and one just with the pork broth. SO GOOD! Be careful, it's not the shop on the corner but in just a few.

Great ramen place in the Shirokanedai area. This restaurant has basically set my standards for ramen in Tokyo. The staff is friendly, and there is an English menu available. The broth and noodles are very tasty, the pork is excellent and the boiled eggs are perfectly done in my opinion.

A quick walk from the New Sanno. There was an English menu and the service was great. We had the pork ramen which was delicious. Be sure to add an egg and mushrooms.

Glad to have stumbled upon this ramen shop one night. The spicy ramen was delicious with a rich broth. Hit the spot on a cold winter night.
