Friendly service. Excellent food and vibes. Recommend the corn beef patty, jerk chicken, plantain and goat curry. The mains come with waffles which were cooked perfectly with a crunch and fluffy on the inside. Food was flavourful and well presented. The Mac and cheese could be cheesier and have more seasoning. Staff were all welcoming and helpful. Music and decor was fun. Plenty on indoor and outdoor seating Located upstairs behind a non descript door.

Updated Review – A Truly Outstanding Experience! I felt it was only right to come back and edit my initial review after returning to this restaurant for a second visit. My first experience wasn’t the best, but I later found out there had been some technical issues in the kitchen at the time. So, I decided to give it another try — and I’m so glad I did! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and seated outside. We ordered the curry goat, fried fish, pumpkin rice, mac and cheese, plantain, chips, and a corned beef patty. Every single dish was absolutely incredible. As someone who works as a caterer and holds high standards when it comes to food, I was genuinely blown away by the depth of flavour in every bite. We also had a cold salad — I’m not entirely sure what was in it (possibly tomatoes and courgettes), but it was incredibly refreshing. The sauces paired perfectly with the dishes, and everything was served piping hot. Even the mocktail we ordered (which I think had elderflower in it) was beautifully made and very refreshing. A special touch was Chef Dawn Taylor coming out to greet us personally — it made the afternoon even more memorable. The only thing I would suggest is extending the music from inside to the outdoor seating area to enhance the ambiance even further. But honestly, that’s a small thing in what was otherwise a flawless experience. This was not just a major improvement from my first visit — it was hands down the best Caribbean restaurant meal I’ve had in over 10 years. Thank you, Chef Dawn Taylor. We will definitely be back!

I had been really looking forward to my meal, but unfortunately, my experience was quite underwhelming. While the staff were friendly and the drinks we ordered were enjoyable, the food itself was distinctly average. The portion sizes were small. For instance, the waffle served was only half a waffle and disappointingly wasn't even hot. We tried both the curry goat and the jerk chicken. The curry goat was indeed soft and tender, but it lacked any distinctive flavour that would make it stand out. The jerk chicken, served cut up, was a particular letdown. It was missing that characteristic, smoky jerk flavour. The accompanying sauce, rather than a traditional jerk sauce, tasted more like a "jerk ketchup." On a more positive note, the sides were nice. Wouldn't be rushing back.

I travelled from the other side of London to eat at Marvee's Food Shop, the food, cocktails, vibe and service did not disappoint! We ordered the Corned Beef Pattie- That Dark Rum and Raisin Glaze, superb!!!!! Cornmeal Waffles with Escovitch Fish, Cornmeal Waffles with the Pork Belly, Mac & Cheese and the Plantain (nice and ripe!!!) I booked a table on a Sunday, and I enjoyed the rest of the afternoon at portobello road market! Great experience, I will be returning!

A Birthday to Remember at Marvee Food Shop! I wanted to wait a few days after my birthday dinner/party before writing this review, just to soak it all in and let me tell you, Marvee Food Shop did not disappoint! Venue
The location is prime right in the heart of Ladbroke Grove, within walking distance from the tube, loads of bus routes, and surprisingly good parking. The decor transported me back to an old Caribbean home — pure nostalgia! The artwork is stunning and full of character. Staff
The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and accommodating. A special shoutout to Sarah, who was an absolute gem and made the night even more special for us. Food
Yummy yummy, get in my tummy! Every dish was delicious. My only suggestion would be to check in with guests about their spice tolerance some of it had a real kick! But overall, the flavours were on point. Drinks
The cocktails were tasty, but could be a little stronger. Still, they went down easy and added to the good vibes. Vibes & Music
Now let’s talk about the DJ 10/10! If you’re old-school and remember Iron Bar, honey, this is the new Iron Bar. The DJ had us vibing all night with some serious bangers. Grab your friends and family and get down there it’s one spot you don’t want to miss!

Celebrating a friend’s birthday as x2 couples for dinner , we had an amazing time. The ambiance was lovely , love the decor and there was just a nice vibe . The food was so sumptuous : the corn beef pattie complimented by the oxtail sauce was a resounding hit at our table . For dinner we tried the pork belly , curry goat and jerk chicken with several sides. The food was tasty , we were very happy with the portion size and everything was presented nicely , nicely seasoned and simply delicious. We had outstanding customer service and our dear friend had a lovely Caribbean meal experience as did we High recommend.

Lovely yummy thank you very much. My son took me for lunch today. The staff were polite, sufficiently attentive and welcoming The food was a palate I grew up with but much better than most Jamaican establishments. The chairs were super comfortable & the playlist is similar to one of the ones I had at home. We very much enjoyed our visit. We will be back!

Marvee’s takes the “good” in the “Good Front Room” to another level - it is “very good” on all dimensions - the food; our party of 6 had different choices from the manner and they were all excellent. The curry goat is one of the best we’ve ever had. And the “Old skool cake” is a dessert with a difference! And if that is not enough, the playlist of Caribbean music is a listening experience worth its own visit.
