The 15 Best Restaurants In Wildwood 2024 - Jersey Shore - The Infatuation

"The menu at Marvis Diner is so dense and overwhelming, you should review it from the stack at the hostess stand and be ready before sitting down at your table, lest you panic and order an ice cream sundae when you meant to order a waffle. The portions are hefty, so save Marvis for when you’re planning to spend the entire day sleeping on the beach—skillets that could handle frying up breakfast for four arrive on your table filled with home fries and eggs topped with any number of delicious things, like scrapple and cheese or hot Italian sausage." - regan stephens, candis mclean, sydney mcelwee

Google
Excellent location, and I highly recommend it. During a trip with some relatives, we ate at this restaurant multiple times simply because the food was that good compared to some of the other local options. Both the breakfast and dinner menus were good, and the portion sizes were not lacking in the slightest. Potentially slightly expensive depending on what you order, but there is a good chance you won't be disappointed.

Outdoor seating area was very nice , we were sat within 5 minutes. Food came out fast , I had the Marvis hell it was pretty good HUGE portion. Will be back :)

Google
This place was awesome 👌. Had a unique vetro diner vibe to the place. I ordered the bulls eye burger, with fries. The burger came with bacon, cheddar, bbq sauce and red onions. It was fantastic 👏, I asked for the fries well done and they came well done 👏. Portions were very large , I can eat a lot of food and I struggled to finish it all.

Google
We went for breakfast. It was delicious. We are usually here during summertime and we go to Uncle Bill's or Duffers, but we decided to come in April and they were closed, so we tried Marvis. Not disappointed at all. Will be coming back here during peak schedule. Glad to have found a new place for breakfast. Will be back to try their lunch and dinner. Staff were excellent.

Ate here for Mother's Day! The waitress was super nice and helpful. The food was good and reasonably priced. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back!

Google
We visited on a Thursday with 7 people at 5:30. It was very reasonably priced and the quality and taste of the food was outstanding. The service, from entering the restaurant to leaving was perfect. We were greeted with a friendly smile and seated promptly. The waitress was also friendly and checked on us regularly meeting our every need. Out of all the restaurants we visited on our vacation the Marvis Diner was by far the best. They stood out even among the more expensive establishments. It was a refreshing experience and everyone in our party left with a smile. I recommend the mozzarella sticks and the country fried steak.

Google
Fantastic restaurant! Great service with friendly staff. Large portions and delicious food. We enjoyed dinner so much our first night in Wildwood we decided to come back for breakfast. Everything my family ate was delicious. The Spartan and Greek salads, the chicken fingers & fries, the Western Omelette, the Avocado toast, pancakes, waffles, tater tots. The portions were so large none of us could finish our food. And I love how they repurposed old kitchen equipment as planters for flowers outside and as their cash register counter.

Yelp
Food is great. 1. Albacore tuna sandwich is great, get with French Fries, crispy. 2. Salad with Albacore tuna and olives or extra celery in the mix have with potato chip's. 3. Steak Sandwich is great with pizza sauce and onions. 4. The salads in general are great here, pick your favorite one you like... 5. There soups are great, you won't be disappointed. 6. Grilled Cheese with crispy Bacon is a real winner. 7. Turkey diner is gray with stuffing and cranberry sauce. All of the above I have had and can vouch for good eats and leave some room for dessert, which they are known for at this location... Service is gr8, if warm enough, eat outside. They rebuilt the diner about 2 years

Yelp
We stopped in this diner which is located on busy Rio Grande in Wildwood. The staff was nice. The food was tasty. Great area and plenty of seating. My only gripe was that my son ordered "just eggs" no home fries or toast and it was $8 for 3 eggs.. he was still hungry so he ordered another plate so $16 for 6 eggs. The prices are bit steep for me but I guess it's the location.

Yelp
Food was amazing. The service was great. And the total Ambiance was great. The fried egg and bacon grilled cheese was a must have and the loaded fries were to die for.

Yelp
So many times people write bad reviews. I usually only take to yelp when something was very wrong or really awesome!!! In this case I want to comment on something I witnessed yesterday 7/8/24 at the Marvis Diner on Rio Grande and Pacific. While we were dining we saw man making balloon art. He was kind and went around to the tables near us. Families were entertained and he was a hit with the kids. The table next to us had an older teen who was deaf. When he realized she was he walked over to her and started conversing in sign language! Her family was so happy. She immediately perked up and had a smile that lit up the room. He was so sweet to her. We love the diner, the food and service is always great, I wanted to share this in hopes someone at the diner sees this. Again, sometimes these little things go un-noticed. Kudos to this man. I hope he brightens others days!

Yelp
What we got: The Hangover Chocolate Chip Pancakes Stuffed Nutella French Toast We arrived around 11 and only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Our the hostess was welcoming and the waitress was easy going and friendly. As for the food, everything was delicious! The hangover came with home fries, perfectly cooked country fried steak with chopped beef, and scrambled eggs! I enjoyed the crap out of this dish! Beware that the skillet is huge! The pancakes had a good amount of chocolate chips and the French toast was yummy as well

Yelp
My BF and I came here for the first time during our Wildwood vacation on a really rainy day around 9:30am. Surprisingly, even for a rainy weekday, it was still poppin! We got there and it was a bit chaotic because everyone is huddling in the tiny waiting area of the restaurant standing/sitting and the sweetheart hostess with a heavy accent is yelling party names out to be seated. The wait was about 25 minutes. Not bad, and by 11am, the crowd of people waiting was at 0. So moral of that story- if you're planning on coming for breakfast, expect a wait. Coming for an early lunch? Shorter wait or no wait. As for the food, pretty great for diner food. French toast was a heavy, I didn't expect them to use Texas toast for a short stack...I couldn't really finish it all. Delicious though, no complaints just a lot! My boyfriend ordered the Marvis Heaven which had ham, potatoes, eggs and cheese I think all served in the skillet lol it was definitely an interesting plate presentation but overall tasted very good. Price was reasonable. Would come back here if we are back in the area on vacation again in the future.

Yelp
Was looking for the best place for a big breakfast in wildwood and we decided on here based off the reviews. We walked in and were able to be seated right away. The staff were pretty friendly and the restaurant itself seemed fairly clean. My husband ordered a veggie omelette with the Greek yogurt fruit bowl. The omelette came with toast and potatoes, he asked our waitress if he could substitute those for fruit because he isn't doing starches. She said ok. I got the famous cream chipped beef, with two scrambled eggs with cheese and a plain waffle. My meal also came with potatoes and toast. I asked for wheat toast and for my cream chipped beef to be in a cup or bowl instead of over my food because I like to put it over my waffle as I eat so it doesn't get soggy. Unfortunately there was a struggle with the language barrier between us in the waitress which ended up causing our food to not arrive as we asked. It seems she didn't speak or understand English well. However we just let it go not to further over complicate things and end up more frustrated. My husband ended up with a fruit bowl and the toast and potatoes even though he asked if a substitution could be done and of course we were charged for it. I ended up with a big bowl of the cream chipped beef and my eggs over my potatoes hard and cold with white toast and the heel of the bread which annoyed me. The cream for my coffee was also spoiled and I thankfully noticed that before I drunk it. My husband said his food was good. As for my meal I have no clue why they are famous for their cream chipped beef it was overly thick and flavorless. My waffle was rubbery with powdered sugar on it when I asked for it plain. My eggs were as stated cold and hard with cheese slapped on it like melted plastic. The coffee was decent once I had unspoiled cream and the fried potatoes were pretty tasty but that's where it ends. If you decide to go just an FYI a lot of these establishments prefer you pay with cash. The bill showed it would be $3 cheaper to do so and I've experienced this at many local places during our stay here. As far as recommending it meh! You may find something you like since they have a huge menu, but I'm on the fence on if I would go back to try anything else. I gave two stars because my husband liked his food.

Yelp
We rented a condo right across the street from Marvis and it was hard to not keep going back!! Food was fresh and tasty, service was exceptional, and the staff were cheerful and friendly. It was very clean inside and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The prices are a little above average but you do get a large quantity of food and it's in a vacation spot so it is acceptable. I had the short stack French toast, which is 2 pieces of Texas toast. Not sure I could have finished the tall stack AND the bacon. The toast themselves were so fluffy and light that it felt like some sort of sorcery was at play in the kitchen. Wife ordered lunch a few times over the week and was happy with her salads and sandwiches as well. If you're near wildwood, Marvis is a must visit IMO!

Yelp
WILDWOOD: a classic diner with two locations in Wildwood, Marvis Diner is a doo-wop themed restaurant with great food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We visited their Pacific Ave location and it has a nice outdoor space that is dog friendly! The outdoors is open seasonally and is covered on top to protect from the sun and bad weather. Our wonderful server, Nikki, brought Brie a water bowl and was attentive to our needs. We gobbled down our breakfast and it was a delicious and great start to our day!

Yelp
Super friendly staff. Went there for a late dinner at 8:30pm. Fam got a chicken rice soup, grilled cheese, tater tots and pancakes. Everyone was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes and quality. Will definitely return some day. There are lots of mediocre and bad places to eat in Wildwood, but this little gem seems like an exception.

Yelp
Food was very tasty and a large portion. Home fries are some of my favorites. I'm already looking forward to going back. The service is very quick as they have a lot of patrons to get in and out. It's really a cute little place with the option of inside and outside dining.

Yelp
Excellent experience here just after 9 PM on a Monday Night. Really cozy open air patio that is covered, perfect for a little bit of drizzly evening. Our waitress, Nataša, was outstanding, frequently checking on our table and very helpful with options on our order and side dish recommendations. Everything we ordered was tasty - the Chicken Pasta soup to start, as a huge part of the diner experience for me is the soup! Also went with the Pork Roll & Cheese Omelette and it was nice and wet - how an omelette should be done! Also absolutely loved the unsweetened iced tea, in a large mason jar. Definitely will be back here on our next Wildwood visit - a well run diner!

Yelp
We had a really good lunch here. Ordered burgers, crabcake sandwiches, Taylor pork roll and egg sandwich, and pancakes with corn beef hash. All the food was fresh, and really delicious. Our waitress, who is from abroad, was a delight. Loved her! We will be back!

Yelp
Solid menu, great service and food. What more can you ask for in a beach side diner. The best at what they do. I had eggs Benedict, the wife had French toast and the kids had chocolate chip Mickey Mouse pancakes w bacon. Everyone crushed their plates. Marvis -in! Marvelous

Yelp
PROS: this is by far the best diner in the area. Staff is nice, food is good, prices are good and the food comes out fast. Spacious inside and they turn tables over fast CONS: there's normally a wait in the morning since it's popular OVERALL: as long as you don't mind waiting I would recommend for you to come here

Yelp
We had a great time here. All three of us enjoyed our meals and left totally stuffed. So after having a terrible experience for lunch I knew that we had to go someplace good for dinner. It was still slightly rainy so we wanted to drive someplace instead of walk and what was great about here is that they have a relatively large parking lot so that appealed to us right away. It's always nice to go someplace that you know you don't have to find parking and then walk back to the restaurant, especially with a 2-year-old. We were able to get a table right away and we ate inside even though they did have patio seating available. I was able to get a booth which is what I requested since sometimes with a kid being able to trap them in the booth is easier than having a table in the middle of the restaurant. So I was really happy that they were accommodating for that request. My partner once again ordered a steak and potatoes and it came with a side of seasoned vegetables. The steak was utterly delicious. I had a few slices from it and it was so good. Probably the best steak that I've had in a really long time. Cooked to perfection and seasoned just enough that it made your mouth water and crave another bite. I ordered the fried shrimp with the basket of fries and a side soup of lentil soup. I thought that my daughter and I could share the shrimp and fries and then I could eat the soup. But boy was I wrong. My daughter ate all of my soup, she's a weird little 2-year-old that loves lentils and loves soup. And she barely wanted to touch the fries or the shrimp. I ate about half the shrimp and a handful of fries. I took the shrimp home with me and ate the next day. The few bites of the soup that I had were delicious. No wonder my daughter wanted the entire bowl to herself. I would definitely recommend coming here. The food portions were very big so we had leftovers for the next day and everything was delicious. The only suggestion I would say is maybe eat less of your main meal because we didn't even get to look at the dessert menu. And I know that I saw a lot of ice cream desserts on that menu.

Yelp
Great service and great food. I've never had a bad meal here over the years. Get the pancakes! They're amazing. Beautiful space that they recently made even nicer with all the renovations. The hostess was incredibly welcoming and sweet. Love that they have local hot sauce on deck. Solid coffee too. You won't be disappointed eating here I promise you that.

Yelp
A friend mentioned that she had the best breakfast in ages, here last summer. So when we were staying in Wildwood last weekend we decided we'd come here for breakfast. So glad we did! There were a lot of people waiting for in line but somehow we got seated right away (how did they know we were VIP? Lol). Actually we were seated outside and were guessing no one waited wanted to be outside. It wasn't even uncomfortably hot so that was good! There were three of us. We all got iced coffee which came in these large mason jars. They offered flavors too! We all also ordered skillets. One Marvis Hell and two Philadelphia skillets to be exact. It was a lot of food. I didn't even finish half of mine. Everything was very good and fresh! I will absolutely be back next time I'm down the shore!

Yelp
Back again two years later and they look like they expanded. I wish this place was closer to my home. It is still one of the best diners I've ever been to. The portions are huge, the service was on point (we had Vasil this time and he went above and beyond) and the price was reasonable. The kid's meals were adult sized portions. My kids didn't make a dent. They don't disappoint.

Stefanie R.

Yelp
All the years been coming to Wildwood, we finally ate at Marvis! Now at 2 locations, we ate at the North Wildwood location(previous Star Diner). This was the BEST milkshake I have ever had! The burger and fries was so good and the cream chipped beef was so tasty along with the (well done) hash browns. The Nostalgia of this diner brought me back to my Wildwood childhood days.
google avatar

Kevin V.

Yelp
Perfect beach dinner food is superb. Huge portions so come hungry. Wait staff friendly and quick. Of in the area must come. Be prepared to eat as most fir most use a doggy bag. Best hashbriwbs ever. Pits waffle house to shame. See Pic. Popularity could cause a wait on popular mornings but worth it
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
This is a neat diner in the area. The place is pretty spacious and has a nice atmosphere to it. There is plenty of indoor and patio seating, with some benches outside to wait. I'm a regular here and I would recommend many of their breakfast dishes. All of their breakfast dishes are great, I've tried many of their omelettes, benedicts, and pancakes. My favorite dishes are the "Marvis Hell" and their "Chipped Beef with Eggs". Both are so meaty and savory. Their service is always pretty good, I've never been left waiting for too long, even when the place was packed. So nothing but good things to say about the place.
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast. A must stop every trip to Wildwood. Service is always prompt and friendly.

Yelp
Love it here! Always stop here for breakfast every time we are in the area. People are friendly and always check on you to make sure all is well. Highly recommend stopping by.

Yelp
While on an AAU basketball tourney weekend at Wildwood, we looked for a pet friendly place to have brunch. Luckily we ended up at Marcus Diner. We had the kids cheeseburger (which was really an adult size), Mannys Omellete, and the Beyond Burger. Good size serving and tasty meals. Place was clean and updated. And to top it off, excellent service!
google avatar

Andrey T.

Yelp
Nice and clean diner. Great décor and ambiance. Servers were all fantastic. Portions all HUGE. Problem is the food. The food is just not very good and generally bland. We had a large group dine here and without exception, everyone had a bad meal. Well, maybe except the salad. Most were edible but bland and lacking flavor. A few were inedible. If you have an iron stomach or generally lack taste buds and want a huge portion, this is the place for you.

Dawn V.

Yelp
The team at Marvis was great! You can tell they're ready for the new season. Clean and kitschy surroundings. Our breakfast pancakes and French toast were delicious and hot! If we're ever back in town- it'll be a go to!
google avatar

Melly B.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I feel like it's a lot of food for the price! We were even able to get another bun for the burger to go because it was so large. Overall it's a Cute quiet little diner with great service! Would definitely go back!
google avatar

Theresa M.

Yelp
What a nice brunch today with family and friends. Our waiter was awesome - humorous and very pleasant and efficient! My BLT with Egg was delicious and my fries were crispy, hot and flavored well! I prefer a thinner fry, but I was pleasantly surprised that these were tasty! Everyone else enjoyed their meals, and I loved that the coffee came out piping hot! Plenty of on-site parking, as well as street parking which is a huge plus for the shore! Prices were reasonable, too!
google avatar

Ji B.

Yelp
Ordered the Marvis Wrap with fries. The fries were well fried and crispy! I actually got so full off the fries that I couldn't finish the mediocre wrap. I've had much better similar type of wraps. There was way too much sauce and lettuce and not enough meat. The meat didn't taste special and had a weird consistency. Definitely would not order this wrap if I come back here.
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
Great little diner, we came for dinner during a trip to the Jersey Shore. The meatloaf was about the best we'd ever tasted. Husband said the chicken parm was just okay, not the best dish on their menu, but it tasted fine and was a big portion. I had the crab cake and it was delicious. Daughter got the chocolate chip pancake which arrived Mickey Mouse shaped. Great service. Our kids liked the claw machines that they could play on while we waited to be seated. We'll be back if we visit the shore again!

Yelp
Convenient location, clean, modern facility, helpful & friendly staff, and great food

John S.

Yelp
Unbelievable portions at this place. The food quality is incredible, on my picture is the hangover skillet and it was fantastic. The service was very fast and our waitress was very nice! The overall feel is great and they really love people in and out.
google avatar

Camden A.

Yelp
How the heck can you sell fish and chips for $20 and have it be frozen, Gorton's filets? Absolute garbage. The waitresses are very attractive though so thats a plus
google avatar

Massimo V.

Yelp
I liked this place, and i think beavis and butthead would like it too. They would probably say: "woah! Cool!" And then eat the food and (of course) have wacky antics as they consume. The pancakes were good! Thumbs up.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast foods! We stopped in here back in September and we were impressed with how delicious everything was. We sat outside on their patio which had a nice feel to it. The portions are massive! The breakfast skillet option is easily enough for two people. They're open from April til mid October. An absolute must if you're visiting or live nearby. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Went there on a Saturday morning for brunch and it was very busy. Food was excellent. Wife ordered the Nutella French toast and it was delicious. Our waitress, Olivia was friendly and easy going. It has two outdoor seating areas with cover and an indoor seating area.

Quia T.

Yelp
Went to Wildwood for our 4th annual shore vacation! We stayed in a condo right down the block and we were excited to try Marvis. We went for dinner (5 of us), and ordered meatloaf, turkey dinner, and chicken parm. The food was AWFUL. The chicken parm was burnt and the noodles were soggy (my baby sister didn't eat, and the waitress offered her French fries), the sauce was canned for sure and the chicken was gross. The meatloaf was a bad version of a banquet meal, the veggies were canned, the turkey dinner was cold cuts with premade disgusting stuffing and gravy, and each entree was around $20. I have been a waitress my entire life and I love to spend money on going out and having fun on vacation! I never complain or expect perfection/free food. But the customer service and service were atrocious. I told the manager about the chicken parm situation to which she said, "well we gave you free fries" She made a huge scene and finally removed the dinner from the check. Please avoid this place at all costs. I paid $98 for horrible, canned, frozen food. It is a tourist trap, unprofessional, and overpriced. Go to WaWa or Mcdonalds. Also, notice they don't respond to these reviews... says something huh?

Paola C.

Yelp
Delicious food, huge portions very friendly staff,, highly recommended great location,, definitely worth the visit

Yelp
Menu options and service kept us all eating breakfast every day for our weeks vacation. Very clean, friendly, and fast. Would certainly go back.

Yelp
Great diner with wonderful quick service. The breakfast here was delicious and will keep you full all day long! We were a large party and arrived around 9am and did not have to wait too long but the later morning crowd had a wait so be sure to arrive early! I ordered the pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage combo and was satisfied.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent wholesome delicious food and friendly service in a seashore atmosphere!! Love dining here when in Wildwood for our annual conference. Very reasonably priced and generous portions!! My Big Fat Greek Salad was outstanding. The Turkey dinner with potatoes stuffing and veggies are superb. And the apple pie ala mode was heavenly!!
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
A solid breakfast option when you're down the beach. The food is standard diner fare - think pancakes, bacon, eggs, etc. - in huge portions and with incredibly quick service. I was pleased with my omelet. The iced coffee comes in huge mason jars, and the iced lattes also looked really good. It is on the pricier side, but that's because you are down the shore.
google avatar

Jonathan P.

Yelp
Another great local diner with great food and wonderful servers. It's said that a NJ diner can be judged by its Pork roll, egg and cheese (I just made that up). The Marvis does not disappoint. Great food, large portions and attentive service. Our server was fantastic. Good prices and value. Another stop every time we come to Wildwood.
google avatar

Su L.

Yelp
Came here for takeout over Memorial Day weekend. The inside of the diner is very kitschy, and they have lots of fake palm trees outside. The staff are friendly and efficient. They had a small outdoor dining area but it was raining when we visited so we took our food away. The prices are cheap but the food is quite mediocre. I got a Greek salad which was mostly lettuce and had very little cucumbers.

Yelp
Food was great. Portions are huge and prices are on the low side. Staff was very nice. Great place for families. I'd definitely recommend, and we go back next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Great restaurant! Fast & friendly service & the food was delicious! They also own the pasta pesto restaurant as well as the Star Diner! Good prices as well!

Yelp
Good quality breakfast without being ripped off. Always find Marvis Dinner a good reliable choice for any meal.

Yelp
Food was good good service nice place. Reasonable price. Had a nice time. Good place to visit. Just simple home style cooked food.
