MARY ANN'S GUMBO HOUSE

We tried everything! Mary Ann's Shrimp Seafood Gumbo, Mary Ann's Chicken & Sausage Gumbo. Everything was SO delicious, my 5 year old wouldn't stop talking about the smell and the taste of the rice (obsessed with rice) and shrimp. But when I tell you she lost her mind over the Raye's Corn Cake (Corn Bread), we BOTH did! They’re cute little bite size pieces that are so buttery and soft. I suggest you order 2 haha TRUST me! Top it off with Mary Ann's Louisiana Sweet Tea! Tre magnifique!! I came to order more cornbread but opted to write this first hahaha *Sidenote* Door dash needs to go ahead and expand their delivery window, I had to pick up my order (was a super easy experience as there were directional signs to find it.) there is so many who are missing out on their deliciousness. 2nd Review: So good I came back and ordered 2 orders of Raye’s Corn Cake! One for myself and one for my daughter. Theses are like pringles, once you pop you can’t stop! Moist, sweet and buttery without losing the corn taste. Go ahead and order 2, you’ll thank me later!

I had the Chicken and Sausage gumbo, which was really good. The heat level was just right for me. The corn cakes are on the sweeter side- I loved ‘em. We will be ordering again.

Quality and authenticity is on point! I tried this place with skepticism because I’m from the south and I’ve never seen real gumbo here, but they knocked it out of the park. Really took me back home! Worth every penny. 10/10

Amazing gumbo! Found this place randomly and decided to try, it did not disappoint even when it was togo. I am a picky person but I can say this gumbo beats so many known cajun restaurants across states and I had been to a lot of them. Will definitely come back (love the hot sauce too )

Ah, so they were under renovations when I had all the ordering problems. This is an example where good communications (updating profile, better messaging on site) would have let us all know and not caused angst. So thank you, Donovan, for explaining. And I'm looking forward to ordering again when I'm in town.

Amazing gumbo I just had! All from a business running from a residential building. So I'm sure you're wondering if it's worth ordering from here and I'd say yes. Especially if you want great gumbo and cornbread. Things to know: First off, the food is delicious. Second off, this place has an A rating for food inspection. The place is a registered business (or else you couldn't list yourself on Google Maps) Besides... you live in LA and have survived danger dogs. That A rating should help you feel relieved, either way. If not, the smile you receive as you get the food hopefully will. You have to go up a few stairs on the left to get to the spot. Don't worry, there's signs that'll tell you where it is. Parking situation is a rough during rush hour but you should be able to squeeze in the street. You get some beads with your food, which is cute. Sounds like a fun thing to get if you ordered delivery while you're drinking at home (or work) with friends. So yeah, the food is great. It's super well made. The quality is what I was hoping for from a place that specialized in gumbo. Much like how I would expect the ramen to be good when they serve nothing but ramen. 100% recommend getting the cornbread with the gumbo, btw. I totally ate most of it while I was driving home so I'd say I recommend getting extra. (they're conveniently bite sized. I couldn't help. Lol)

Best gumbo I've had in LA. I got the seafood gumbo. I added red rooster but it didn't need any. Seasoned perfectly. The small portion was the perfect size and filling.

I was on my way home with my husband and kids, heading back to the valley, when my husband started craving gumbo. I did a quick Yelp search and discovered Mary Ann's Gumbo. We decided to give it a try, and it did not disappoint! After a long day, this meal really hit the spot. The food was absolutely delicious--we ordered both the regular gumbo and the seafood gumbo bowl, and we devoured every bite. The only downside is that the location is on a very busy street, but the amazing food made it worth navigating the traffic. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely stop by for a savory, satisfying meal!

Ordered my food through Door Dash and had a craving for good savory food. I ordered a Mary Ann's Gumbo #2 and I was not disappointed at all! Honestly surprised. This place is a gem and I'm so glad I found it. Despite me waiting 20 mins for delivery my food was Steaming HOT. My expectations were definitely exceeded. As a pregnancy woman from the south I would definitely be ordering again. I wish it was a little spicier but the hot sauce packet sufficed. And the Sweet Tea... is sweet baby. Literally perfect.

Today I bought the large gumbo it was really tasty. However, it did not taste like gumbo to me it was more like a seafood veggie soup. I would order again, next time I will try the chicken sausage gumbo.

I have been looking for a place with authentic Louisiana Gumbo and I found it! Gumbo was delicious, the corn bread was moist and the ice tea helped wash it all down! It even came with a packet of Lousiana hot sauce and Mardi Gras beads! I'll be ordering again!

I'm not a big gumbo fan ut this palce is special. Their cornbread and soup were amazing, and its surprising i've never had such thing before. make sure to try their chicken gumbo - so delish!

ellen steens I recently ordered from Mary's Gumbo House. I chose the large Shrimp and Seafood cup of gumbo, priced at $14.95. It was a generous single portion. Along with that I ordered the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo which was double in size at $22.95. I was able to have two generous meals from my second order. I ordered extra rice priced at $2.50 ea. And to complete my order I added the Corn Cakes which were priced 4@$3.00. Both gumbos were creamy and savory. You'll love this luscious dish especially if you shy away from spicy (hot) foods. My steaming bowls were semi thick with rich brown rue, just the way I love it. I was grateful there was no detectable sugar taste, as I'm trying to dodge the surgery dishes of today. My husband devoured most of the sweet yummy little Corn Cakes. This was my first time ordering. In placing my order I made one giant mistake. I did not order enough. Next time I will double my order. I'll be honest, I was furious when my doordash arrived and was prepared to leave a bad review. The servings seemed small at first, but after dishing out the amazing and protein packed gumbo from the large order of seafood gumbo, we had 2 large servings. It was delicious and I'll order again. More would be better but I like large servings and this was definitely filling.

Ordered on DoorDash. The gumbo was very savory and a good sized portion! Perfect for a rainy night. Very generous with the amount of meat.

I had really high hopes for this place but this was definitely Campbells soup with imitation crab meat. This is not gumbo. Sorry not sorry.

Great gumbo! And the cornbread is so good! We ordered and it arrived hot and we got some Mardi Gras beads as a nice touch. Happy to taste some real gumbo in LA. I'm from Texas and I know real gumbo :)

Some of the best gumbo I've ever had. i was visiting LA on a business trip and wanted to try something new. I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend this place if your in the area.
