A truly authentic Irish bar with fantastic food, drinks, and staff. The atmosphere is wonderful and has so much history on its walls. It's enjoyable talking to the locals and tourists alike. Can't recommend this place enough! If you are in town it's a must see!

Google
This place is simply the best Irish pub we’ve been to in Tampa, it’s very cozy and reminds me a lot of Ireland. We came here for an Irish breakfast which did not disappoint, we absolutely loved it. Great place for a Guinness with the lads!

Google
This place is wonderful. Truly an Irish pub. The food was delicious. The Irish coffee was excellent. The atmosphere is so cozy you will want to stay all day. Highly recommend!

Service was great, food was amazing! Only 2 bartenders that we could see but very quick and attentive to us. Can't wait to come back again

Last time I was here was in October of 2023. It was the first time I was there and I really was impressed. I'm not sure if the sandwich I had was a special or something cuz it had the sweet pickled onions that I liked so much I asked the chef the name of them so I could buy some which it was hard at first but finally found them at Walmart and I buy four bottles at a time. When I came in that time I was greeted and sat down. It was near the door so I can actually read the menu. The place is really dark. What a difference a year makes once again I come after I've gone to a play at American stage. This time I walk in and I stand in the entrance for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to seat me or ask me if I want to drink cuz I'm close to the bar. there are at least five workers that I see during this time and they never look at the door. In fact it looks like there are trying to avoid looking at you. I finally get someone's attention and tell him I want to eat there and can I eat outside and they say the person waitress outside won't be in for a while so I go inside to eat but I'm not happy. Later on I saw someone eating outside at the bar what if I had known was available I would have totally done that. I didn't like being inside because it was cold it was very loud with the customers and the music I don't think there was much more than 20 people there but it was loud. And I expect a bar to be that way but usually it's in a big room and this is a smaller room and so it was more condensed. I'm not usually that picky but I have anxiety disorder. And it was nice out so I really would have preferred outdoors. So finally I order the shepherd's pie cuz I've been wanting to try that since the time I was there in 23. What a disappointment it was so small you could hardly see the peas and carrots in their. Also it was very bland. And it was expensive at $16 it wasn't like the one I used to get at Moon underwater in downtown St Pete they had lots of peas and carrots in the peas where the color of Kelly Green and it was bigger. This one didn't seem to have any kind of spices. Honestly I like the shepherd's pie that I get at Aldi for $9.99 and you get twice as much. So I decided to get a Reuben to go. When I eventually ate it there was no sauerkraut on one side I can vaguely see a very thin piece of cheese. On the other side I finally saw the sauerkraut I did not taste any Thousand Island dressing. Maybe the person is new and needs to be taught how to make that particular sandwich. I had ordered the coleslaw but of course they didn't have it so they gave me French fries which the good part was I guess that was supposed to cost more but since it was their problem they gave it to me for free so good on them for that you're still getting one Stars. I forgot to mention also on the menu special drinks I guess they were for winter that they were supposed to take out of the menu but they didn't and I had ordered a whiskey cider that was warm because I was cold but they didn't have it of course. And the waitress said we need to take that out of the menus. I did not see anybody doing that while I was there they were folding napkins though. Is there going to be an Irish tavern they really need to work on their food. The guy with the beard was busy and he looked like he was in charge and he's the one who told me about the coleslaw and I suppose I could have told him my unhappiness but he seemed very busy doing the stuff that should probably be delegated to other people. There were other Irish foods that I might have wanted to try there after going to a play but now I don't think so. Last but not least there was no ketchup for the f6ries. There was no thousand island dressing on it. Well they got back to me and offered me a gift certificate and I went back and the meal I had was good and they took care of me and it was a much better experience. I gave a better rating because of this.

Google
This is a quaint little Irish bar with good food, plenty of choices on beer and drinks and an exceptional atmosphere. A group of us stopped by for dinner and all the food was good waiter took good care of us and the beer was cold! All you can ask for in an Irish Bar.

Google
Such a fun joint! Every time I've been here at various times of day and various days of the week, the place has been filled with the sounds of live Irish music. Service is great, the beer is just the right temperature. Fun place to stop by if you're in St. Pete!

Google
Many places claim to be an Irish pub but not all (in the US) can really back it up. While I will say that I cannot speak to the food as we only stopped in for a drink, I will also say this place has the legit pub look and atmosphere. The Guinness pours are on point and the live music (Chad McDonald) was excellent. They have a fair amount of bar seating, several tables, and tables outside to either sit or stand at. Will definitely stop in the next time we are in St. Pete to try the food.

Yelp
Guinness on tap, yeeees! Called in here on Friday to watch the England match; nice little pub in downtown St. Pete offering food and drinks. There is a decent sized bar and also a few other tables, as well as the "snug" (good for a group of friends.) Two teles were showing the match; there was also a drop down screen that looks like it's used on occasion. Live Irish music, as well, although sadly it was past my bedtime, so I didn't get to hear any of it :-D Highly recommend a stop in! 2025: 9/100

Yelp
I loved this joint! Very Irish Pub feel, well done. I love old bars, the wood work, mirrors deco, etc. this bar has the wood and the etc, not much in the way of mirrors but truly the look and feel of a 100 year old bar, imagine my amazement when I was told one of the owners made it five years ago! Job well done. Now it was mid-Florida, mid-day hot so I only popped in for a beer, Harp, but would absolutely go back anytime. Decent tap with three authentic Irish brews (Guinness has a separate double tap that has a following so always fresh).

Yelp
We came here to watch the Arsenal game and aside from parking being difficult to find, we had a great time. It's perfectly dark inside with carved wood, booths, and a long bar like you'd expect in an Irish pub. The service was very attentive and they had multiple games going to satisfy all their patrons. We started off with Irish coffee and an Irish Breakfast - holy cow were those mushrooms and the Irish sausage absolute show stealers. So good and filling. We also ended up getting the curried chicken chips which was warm, ooey, cheesy gooey, and also delicious. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants a good Irish pub.

Yelp
One of the most authentic Irish pubs I have ever been to. In town to see my daughter and son in law. We were downtown St. Pete walking, looking for somewhere to have lunch. Thanks to Yelp we found Mary Margaret's. Our server Gabby's, same name as my daughter, how ironic, was great. Chips and beer cheese to start, of course fish and chips and Rubens for lunch. All amazing! Without a doubt the best fish and chips I have ever had. Daughter and son in law said the same for the Rubens. Great lunch!

Yelp
Guinness on tap! You cannot beat the authenticity. We stopped in for some drinks and a snack. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will be coming back!

Yelp
If you're a football (soccer) fan, rugby fan, or all things Irish fan, Mary Margaret's is your place! From live music, live soccer matches WITH volume, and corned beef, this is a local favorite for so many reasons. I've watched a good amount of soccer games here with my favorite being the World Cup final and the place was electric. And packed to the rim. Which is the only downside; there isn't a ton of space so you can imagine how quickly it can fill up. As can the lines for the restroom. You can't leave without trying their Reuben egg rolls; friend wonton with corned beef, Swiss and kraut. A fan favorite. Each visit the staff has been absolutely wonderful. And the true backbone of it all. You have to have a certain type of skin to work in this type of environment. Such a fun time, always!

Yelp
had the Guinness burger Fantastic Wife had the Cobb salad loved it Also a express o martini that she loved I would have enjoyed a Guinness with my meal But my turn to drive We'll be back to try some other menu items

Yelp
If you are looking for an authentic and really fun Irish bar, look no further than Mary Margret's Irish Tavern. They have a wide array of specialty beers as well as a fully stocked bar. It appears that they may have some food options but I didn't get a chance to check into that. From the music, to the bar to the fantastic live entertainment they offer, this place is a total home run. Can't wait to go back. Love it !

Yelp
Chicken curry chips had an amazing flavor! 10/10 Love the atmosphere and great service

Yelp
The most authentic Irish pub I've ever been to in Florida. Great food, really good pints and live music multiple times per week! My boyfriend is from Dublin and also agrees this is one of the more authentic pubs he's been to in the States. Such a great time!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this bar! It is so quaint and perfect to grab a Guinness or an $8 espresso martini on Fridays! You feel as if you are transported into a cozy bar in Ireland instead of DTSP, which is a nice change. The bartenders are always so friendly and attentive. I have tried the Reuben egg rolls, chips and dip, and fish and chips- all have been out of the world. Absolutely recommend this bar!

Yelp
Our server was IFA (I know I spelled that wrong) and she's actually from Ireland! The sweetest! The food was amazing! I had the shepherds pie (highly recommend) and my friend had the pretzel bites! They have an excellent choice of whiskeys as well as great beer on draft/can too! You can always find whatever soccer game you're trying to watch here! It's truly a soccer futbol bar It's very clean, well organized, and maintained. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is our new go-to St Pete bar! My lady and I love Irish pubs. This is one of the overall less pretentious bars in St Pete. Love the vibes, live music, and the drink offerings. People were friendly across the board. Bathrooms were clean. Paying the cover was worth it to return later for one last drink and to use the bathroom. We'll be back!

Anthony E E.

Yelp
Easily the best Irish pub in St. Pete. Amazing Guinness and great food. All authentic.

Ginger D.

Yelp
This is a cool, old school bar. We ordered a Rueben, and it was great! We will definitely return...

Yelp
Stopped in a Sunday morning, "Mother's Day" weekend, a little before the Soccer Match for Breakfast. It wasn't busy, actually it was pretty dead, but the staff (one of whom we later found out was the owner) was still really attentive and extremely welcoming. The food was good and even as authentic as one could ever reasonably expect to find in St. Petersburg, Florida. We were leaving just as the Arsenal fans were arriving and I thought it was cool to see that kind of community build up around a local owned business. Well done.

RJ D.

Yelp
Not a better place in St.Pete to watch Premiere League. The Ruben is a must have. Guinness is authentic.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
This place feels like you're transported to Ireland. The decor and atmosphere is great and there was even live music (with the musician having an Irish accent and singing Irish songs too!). I had the raspberry lemonade cider from three daughters brewery. It was tasty but was very flat. My partner had the Sunshine IPA and enjoyed it. We ordered the Crowley's Reuben Egg Rolls and they were a tasty appetizer and enough to share. Overall, nice hole in the wall spot.
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
Reason for 2 stars is the service and the coleslaw were very good. The fish were over cooke and my wife's chicken was rubbery. Won't go back
google avatar

Mark O.

Yelp
We came here to watch some premier league matches. It's a very cool vibe they have there, and a loyal group of Aston Villa fans. Food is really good. I would definitely recommend the Grouper Reuben. We wanted to try the egg rolls but they were sold out. However the soup was a chicken poblano that was outstanding and the hummus as well. Service was really good (Liz was our fabulous bartender) and accommodating for the PL matches. Enjoy!

Yelp
We were exploring downtown St. Pete and stumbled upon Mary Margaret, looking for a place to get a quick drink and some food, nothing crazy. They had live music and a great beer selection so we decided to check it out. I've never been to Ireland but this place looks authentic, in my opinion the ambience is great. We ordered the Reuben Egg Roll because I noticed it was popular and after tasting it, I realized why it's popular. It's delicious, especially with the dipping sauce - definitely recommend. The service is friendly and welcoming but it took a long time for us to order and get the check. It wasn't crazy busy so I figure they are just a bit disorganized.

Yelp
WOW...what an amazing find! Visiting from Houston, TX and was looking for a nice late night spot and this was it! The ambiance was everything a true Irish Pub should project. Great bartenders and awesome live Irish music. I went back the next day to have lunch and the bar was packed with guest there to watch a live Football Match from England. I was welcomed into the crowd and had a great time. The food is so good. Everything about this place is 5 star! I'd go back to St. Pete just to visit this pub again.
google avatar

Carlos C.

Yelp
So today my uncle and I visited this establishment to watch the notre dame vs Miami oh. It was a great time and staff was superior. They really accommodated us and made us feel at home. 10/10 for a great bar with a lot of great food to enjoy. The bar is amazing and the look is like no other. I came here about a year ago with there live band and one of the staff/bartender got on stage and sang a great tune from the cranberries band. She was amazing but I was not able to stay until night but maybe one day soon I'll come back and visit. Always a lovely time and I would recommend this place to anyone of my friends and family. Come check it out!!! You might win something or you might just like coming here if you live near by. Lovely people lovely place

Bobbie L.

Yelp
We went for the first time before a movie date. We were intrigued by the music that was playing even before we went through the front door. The service and food was fantastic. We can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Julia D.

Yelp
Food we've had in the past was better. With that being said I'm really hoping we were just here on an off night. Server was nice, music was good. Just the fries had zero flavor. Try the egg rolls instead!
google avatar

Wil W.

Yelp
I had the fish and chips. The fish was a nice fillet of cobia which was great however the chips were bland and still tasted raw. The batter had no flavor and my friends dish of vegan curry was pathetic.

Diane W.

Yelp
We recently went to Mary Margaret's for the Euro championship game on Sunday. The place was packed, busier than I have ever seen it. Our server was Karin. There should be a server like Karin at every establishment. She provided excellent customer service while being pulled in many different directions. Service was speedy, drinks were amazing and food was delicious. After hours of keeping up a rigorous pace, Karin still managed to smile and maintain the best attitude. Kudos to Karin and Mary Margaret's for providing top notch service.
google avatar

Dee S.

Yelp
I only found out about Mary Margaret's through the World Cup, as they advertised themselves to be the St Pete WC hub (They were even open for the 6am games, love that commitment!) I was most definitely not disappointed and really loved the atmosphere they had built. First, it really does look like a pub in there: dark, small, cozy. The owner also did a good job trying to build a relationship with the regulars, I could tell he really wanted it to have that small- town pub feel! The food was really good. Even though it's not on the menu, I asked that they sub turkey meat in my Reuben and they readily obliged. The Reuben was really tasty too, though I would have preferred more sauerkraut and sauce, but this version was probably a bit healthier As far as the world cup goes, I definitely recommend getting there early as it's a small space and tables fill up fast!
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times during the day and at night to get the full experience. During the day it's quieter and has some pretty good service. At night it gets pretty packed on the weekend with live music. For me the juice isn't really worth the squeeze here with the Irish beers (which is 90% the reason to go to an Irish bar) being 8.50-$9. During the day there are cheaper beers elsewhere to have and at night the service was lacking and it was difficult to get a drink Haven't had the food but open to trying. I think the real driver to come here for me was the "summer of gin" where the gin is about the same price a beer. 3/5 would recommend to a friend for the daytime
google avatar

Sheila H.

Yelp
Another bar / restaurant venture by the owner of the galley. They have bands that play traditional Irish music. Great selection of beer and Irish whiskey. Ask for Sid - he makes the best old fashions. Pretty good price for a well old fashions (under $10) The potato soup is my favorite. Creamy lots of potatoes and topped with bacon and cheese. I also recommend trying the vegan shepherds pie.
google avatar

Gary M.

Yelp
Very well kept up the service was awesome. I love the setting and the ambience was awesome. Haven't had the food yet. Just a few drinks
google avatar

J. P. F.

Yelp
Wow! My 1st Premier League game day with Luke! Had a ball, GREAT Irish Breakfast and EVEN BETTER service from Liz and Patrick! Came with a Chelsea fan - he/we lost 0-3 and we STILL had a gr8 time! Seriously - come watch Premier League football here when Liz & Patrick are on bar duty! I'll be back!!
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
Love this Irish pub! Tried the bangers and mash and it was incredible (the favorite of Patrick, the bartender, as well). Really big portion size for the price too, came in hungry, left very full. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had and the gravy was a perfect complement. The bangers themselves were really flavorful. The brown bread was a surprise, with a really unique flavor that fit with the dish well. Can't wait to try more here! The service was great, even while busy. Bonus: the guest Wi-Fi is really fast if you need to get some work done or catch up on Yelp!

Fishman 4.

Yelp
Let's make a long story short. If cricket, is your thing you've found the spot. The service is fine and the selection of beverage is stellar, but if a Ruben sandwich is your calling...stop the hunt. There are two sandwiches which I seek...Ruben & Cuban. I'm here to tell you, if this Ruben isn't the best, it's crowding #1 off the page!
google avatar

Dorene M.

Yelp
Oh my God this place makes me feel like I'm in a real pub. Love the wood work, the stained glass and homey pub vibe feel. They did a great job transforming this place. It's what St. Pete has been missing for a few years. So I stopped in after the Locatopia festival today to get a bit to eat and beverage .I was a bit apprehensive since they just opened. They were crazy busy but they still did a great job staying on top of things. Service was great, the music was great and the food was delicious .I ordered the Cobb salad, I know it's not something you'd normally order from an Irish pub but it's what I was in the mood for.Everything was crisp, fresh and tasty .They have limited dressing selection but will have more when they are able to make it. I love that they'd rather wait until they can make their dressing instead of just serving bottled dressing. If you're looking for a proper Guinness, they have it! Want some Irish food, they have it! Irish music, yes that have that also. So far a win,win and win and this is only day two ! Great Job! Can't wait to try other items and until Paddy's day ,I'm sure it'll be a blast.

Yelp
You should take this review with a grain of salt because it is a premature review. However, I'm writing it anyway. Tough. I stopped here Sunday afternoon hoping to catch some live music. They had just opened this weekend and had some bands I wanted to check out. Unfortunately, I came down with a bad case of the "nahhh, changed my mind" also known in other parts of the world as the "antisocials" the "lazies" and the "f*** it's". Anyway, had some time to kill Sunday and I was downtown with my book, so I stopped by. First positive is that they continue the dog friendly vibe of DTSP and have a small but welcoming street-side patio that is dog friendly. Multiple people had their pups out. Second positive-a good vegetarian friendly menu. They have 3 or 4 items they make with beyond meat products: a veggie burger, a veggie bangers/mash, and I think a veggie Shepard's pie or something like that. I did not eat anything but am looking forward to coming back with the special vegetarian in my life and the special Bruce in my life (Bruce is my dog, and if you didn't know that, then you should meet him. He wants to meet you). Third, whiskey whiskey whiskey. A great whiskey collection. I got their Irish old fashioned. It wasn't called that. It was an old fashioned with an Irish name in it. This was a great old fashioned. Highly recommend it. Finally, this just feels like a pub. Having never been to Ireland, I can't say how authentically Irish it was, but I've been to England and Scotland and no, I am not saying that makes me an expert. I am saying it reminded me of the pubs I had been in when over there. Certainly more so than the other Irish pub in downtown St Pete. It is a little small and dark, but again, I like the feel. Just not so sure I would like when it's inevitably packed on first Friday. So, can't tell you anything about the food and only had one drink, but it was enough to make me want to come back.
google avatar

Elle E.

Yelp
Hands down THE BEST fish and chips I've had in Florida! The beer batter was super crispy on the grouper. If you're craving fish and chips, this is the spot!
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
The pub speaks old school Irish. Good classic beers and spirits. Food is only so,so. We tried the chips & fish as we are always on the search for good chips & fish. I say chips & fish because we received a big basket of chips with one dinky, greasy piece of fish. This must be downtown St Pete serving style and portions. When we asked the waitress if you only get one small piece of fish, she looked at us like: What were you expecting? Another piece of fish!
google avatar

Kathy C.

Yelp
Since we're not traveling, my husband and we're craving a Full Irish breakfast. This was our first time at Mary Margaret's. We had such a good time. The tavern had lots of wood paneling and was decorated to look like a pub that had been a village for hundreds of year (the fake fireplace was a nice touch, lol). We had a lot of fun looking at everything on the walls, etc while waiting for our meal and I found it quite funny when I realized the booth we sat in was part of a confessional. There was a nice mix of Irish music playing in the background until THE soccer match started & then audio was switched to the 3 large TVs behind the bar. This is the perfect place to watch soccer or rugby!!!! We received great service from all three servers. They were friendly (two of them spoke with cute Irish accents). The Kawa coffee was delicious & I appreciate restaurants that support other local businesses. Our Full Irish bfast did not disappoint- the bangers were extremely good too! The black pudding was also good. We definitely will return!
google avatar

Kelsi T.

Yelp
Great Irish music, great food and the chocolate cake is the size of your face. Also, they have Kilkenny beer. Always a nice pub to stop in when I'm downtown.
google avatar

Deborah E.

Yelp
Delicious food and great service. The servers are on top of their game even on a busy night. Portions are a large amount for downtown St Pete and great for the price.
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
Clean Irish Pub in the middle of downtown. They pour their Guinness clean and proper. What isn't there to like? They have a full bar, decent beer on tap and a kitchen that seems to be open relatively late. I haven't tried the food yet but from what I've been told, it's pretty good and can be preferable to some of the other nearby drunk spots... I'll have to test that out. They usually have a musician playing every night. What they play can vary but they are talented enough to take requests. Typical of most Irish pubs is a mostly older crowd. I've seen and heard my fair share of actual Irish accents here so there's probably a nice degree of authenticity.
google avatar

Alan B.

Yelp
Mary Margaret's is the best Irish (or English) Pub in the Tampa Bay area. The drinks are well made and affordable. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and after you have been a few times they make an effort to remember your name and preferences. But more importantly, the food is great. Ireland isn't know for its great food - but Mary Margaret's does a great job of putting that reputation to rest. I have never heard anyone have a negative word to say about any of their orders, and I have never had a problem either. They have several great vegetarian options- they have the Shepherdess Pie which is always a delight. Amazing mac and cheese. Great sandwiches. You can't go wrong (and I often order Mary Margaret's through Uber Eats too). But the atmosphere is awesome. Plenty of outside seating, there is also booths inside where you can enjoy the frequent live Irish music or trivia.

Stephan M.

Yelp
Worst breakfast I have ever had. I was shocked at the small portions and low quality of the food. Two Irish breakfast and two pints of Guinness $56.02. Plus tip.
google avatar

Terese M.

Yelp
This place is adorable! Dark and chock full of antique ambiance. The service is fast and the staff is at ease and friendly. The menu is standard Irish pub fare. Tasty but fairly greasy. Drinks are 12$ and while I love the giant ice cubes for the whisky drinks I'd like more whiskey please!

J B.

Yelp
Way overpriced but the comfy spot and great food. The staff are really kind. The same owner of the galley runs this place, so they have quality in mind but not very consistent as you can see by the other reviews.

Zarak K.

Yelp
Very nice Taven reminds me of our London pub Nice place to watch football games.Guinness is wicked

Yelp
I seriously love this place!!! I am so happy I stumbled into this bar with live music and great vibes!! Karin was serving us and she is a freaking rockstar!!! Always a friendly smile on her face and great drink and food suggestions. Julian behind the bar makes the best drinks! Can't wait to come back and bring all my friends!

Yelp
Had a really great experience here. The food during our brunch was perfect. We had the MM margarita which had fresh squeezed juice and was delicious. The Mac and chews with bacon was out of this world and the Reuben was perfect. Had drinks there the night before and bartenders great.
