This place is incredible!!! I am always looking for an amazing salad with fresh ingredients and good chicken. The salads were amazing. We ordered the kale ceasar with chicken and the Cobb. The Gold Coast soup was also delicious!!!

I stopped by this salad place on a whim, and it completely blew me away. Everything tasted incredibly fresh — you can tell they actually care about the quality of their ingredients. I built my own bowl with mixed greens, grilled chicken, avocado, and roasted corn, and the balance of textures and flavors was perfect. The dressing (a tangy lemon vinaigrette) tied it all together without being overpowering. The staff were super friendly and got my order out quickly, even during lunch rush. The place was spotless, and the atmosphere felt clean and modern — perfect for a quick healthy meal or even just hanging out. If you want something light but filling, this is the spot. Definitely my new go-to for salads!

Their salads are so delicious. The space is simple and small but very well designed (love their serving bowls). We came for lunch and were all blown away. Even my 8yo boy loved his salad and he doesn't usually care for salad. We ordered the cobb, the chopped and super food. Our entire party raved about the food all day. Highly recommend. Only thing that could have been better was a table inside... But we got sweatshirts and a blanket and sat outside watching the world go by. Also, the service was very fast and friendly!!

THE SALAD SHOP OF DREAMS!! You can tell that every component of the salad was carefully considered and expertly prepared. The portion sizes are generous, to say the least - I ended up taking some of it home for lunch the next day (and it was still incredible, even after a night in the fridge!) Definitely my new fave lunch spot! 10/5 stars (if I could give more, I would!)

The salads here are pretty tasty. I live in the area, so it's easy to order and pick up on my way home. Today, I bought the bigger option and got home to see that the bowl isn't even full. I should have just ordered the smaller size with how much space is left. The salads are pretty expensive, so I expect to get more "bang for my buck". Kinda disappointed.

Mary's Gourmet Salads are top tier!!! Consistently fresh & delicious. (The golden beets are to die for! As well as the peanut sauce!!) Great vegan and vegetarian options. Nice, clean little shop. I can usually find street parking nearby. The team members are exceptionally kind, professional and accommodating! They greet me as "Miss Caroline" whenever I come to pick up my salads. So sweet. They also helped me to make a big catering order for work--they made it a painless experience!! Mary's salads can turn a bad day into a fabulous one! I will definitely be asking for a MGS gift card for Christmas!! Thank you to everyone at MGS!

Exceptional experience at Marys! We traveled for a couple of days to san diego and it was hands down the best meal we had! Everything was a 10/10 from the fresh and tasteful ingredients to the atmosphere and service, you could just tell that the owners pay attention to detail and put their heart and sould into what they do! Couldn’t reccomend enough!! Can’t wait to come back

Definitely found my new favorite salad place! Mary's Salads is a little gem in downtown La Jolla. The menu is extensive so there will be something for everyone here. The inside is quite small with maybe one table and 2 tables outside. If it's not busy, it's nice to sit outside at sunset. I opted for the Kale Caesar with no bacon - it was really good! My main concerns with salads are the dressing (usually not enough) and wilted/bad leaves and veggies. There was none of that here as the salad was super fresh and had just the perfect amount of dressing. The pita chip toppings go so well with the parm and dressing!

4.5 stars I came here after looking for unique salads during one of the warmer weekends in San Diego. My husband I ordered the following salads: - Thai Crunch Salad - Summer Breeze Salad I love that they make their own dressing and use healthy ingredients, which is where the .5 stars come in. The inside of the shop is small and cute, with the workers there being very friendly. I really like the outside seating area with the two bench like tables, and then the 2 seat round tables in front, where we sat for lunch. They bring the salads out to you, with the dressing in a container placed inside of the salad (which, my preference would be the bowl on a plate with the dressing container on the side of the plate for cleanliness). I agree that the bowls are rather nice looking. Service was as expected, friendly, and our waitress was attentive (but not overly). I think both salads were delicious, a great option if I were in the area, and wanting a healthier and affordable meal as opposed to the other choices in the area but it's a bit of drive if coming just to grab a salad. I didn't necessarily feel like the salads were very unique (yes, I admit, I like interesting flavored salads as I'm a bit of a salad whore...), though I believe the Summer Breeze was more unique than the Thai Crunch salad. Definitely would be up for going back there, and for anyone around, a great place to pick up a salad for takeout, as it is perfect for that, and the size is substantial. The dressing for my Thai Crunch was very flavourful, and the greens tasted and looked very fresh. I definitely would go again if in the area if I were in the mood for a salad and would recommend it for others who would enjoy salads.

Review for Mary's - La Jolla, CA We stopped by Mary's in La Jolla right after Comic-Con, and I was starving. We try to eat healthy whenever we can, and this spot caught our eye because of the great reviews -- and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The salad was super fresh -- no wilted lettuce here, which can sometimes be hit-or-miss at other places. The dressing was delicious, and the portion was surprisingly generous. It definitely hit the spot. The place itself is clean and cozy, and right after we arrived, it started getting busy -- so we may have lucked out with timing. We sat out on their patio and enjoyed our food with a cool ocean breeze, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and craving something fresh, healthy, and satisfying.

Simple salad place. We stopped by here after comic con in San Diego. The salads here are fresh and delicious. My son really enjoyed his salad, and their sea salt chocolate chip cookies are delicious too!

I just don't think these salads are great quality. They need to step it up with the vegetable options - like offer roasted vegetables and not just all raw. I do love that they have homemade dressings available. I don't see myself coming back though. It was a really mediocre salad for an expensive price

I asked for the recommendation and I was pointed towards the Thai crunch salad. It was good! I was craving a salad for a few days at that point so I think any salad that was fresh and cold would've sufficed. I think it was missing something though, it was a teensy bland. I added chicken to it too and they gave me a LOT of chicken. It was the smaller size and I could barely finish the salad!

I so want to love this place. This was actually the second time I've been here. I held off writing a review the first time because I had a not so great experience and I wanted to give it a chance to see if that was just an "off day" before submitting my review. My second visit confirmed that I won't likely be returning anytime soon. I wish I would have captured better photos to support this review but I only managed to take a few. This shop is TINY. There was room for myself, my friend, a stroller and one other patron to stand inside. No issues there, but just letting you know it's a really small space. There is only one small table with chairs inside. The remaining seating is outdoor. The beverage displays take up most of the remaining room inside. A large reach in beverage refrigerator next to the counter was dark and out of service. It was noisy inside just from white noise so I had to keep asking the cashier to repeat himself as I asked questions about the menu as it was impossible to hear clearly and he spoke softly. I ended up ordering the Gold Coast soup which I do give a 5/5. I also ordered the Cobb Salad and substituted chicken for the egg and bacon. I give that a 2/5 at best. The chicken was completely overcooked and simultaneously dry and rubbery. The salad was completely tasteless. Same thing happened the previous visit except that time I got the Thai salad (one of their most popular) and added chicken. The pictures of the food on Yelp mostly look so inviting. The professional pictures they posted of these salads make the salad look exceptional. Both visits, the salad and chicken were complete disappointments. And on this visit there was the most teeny piece of avocado in the salad. Literally maybe it was the size of a dime if I'm lucky. I am truly baffled by all of these stellar reviews. The outside seating area is very cute and when you order "for here" the bowls are beautiful and make it feel like a special meal. This time I got my salad in a "to go" container as I knew I likely would not be able to finish. Last time I got it "for here". Even the beautiful bowl couldn't help the salad taste better. It literally lacked flavor. The soup this time was a 5/5, the perfect amount of flavor for me, but on my prior visit, the same exact soup was about a 3/5, so the inconsistency is holding me back from giving a higher overall rating here. Parking is near impossible and sitting outside so close to the busy street brought its own challenges. None of this would have mattered to me though if the food was excellent. If they can find better tasting produce become more consistent I will happily return. I truly love good salads and wish I could find more salad spots to frequent.

Update: I learned my beef was with Uber not Mary's Gourmet Salad. So I'd be grudgingly joined Uber one although I feel like it's extortion, this time I order a salad and soup and very pleased. It's still expensive to order delivery, but the convenience is really nice too. I will tell you the soup is pretty amazing. That's the only soup they have in the menu from what I can see and it's really good and I've ordered the salad several times and they're all very good. So my apologies for taking it out on Mary's gourmet salads. Previous I used Uber Delivery for my salad and paid over $61 for a single salad (East Coast) and a lemonade. Part of that was Uber Eats fees and tip ($10) but it does seem excessive when you remove Uber Eats fees and tip. By the way, i expect to pay a delivery fee for the convenience of it. So overall, I would say that the salad was definitely satisfying and tasty as advertised, but the cost leaves me a bitter taste. A salad at $16.95 and I added nuts and one other item that I don't recall now it's a $21 salad Even that would be expensive and then you add on a lemonade which was $4.50 now I'm looking at $26. $10 tip for the driver which is excessive but warranted put you at $36 so where are the other fees coming from, approximately $25? Anyhow, I think the salad was very good and worth 5 stars but the price is worth 1 star. Pratt, most of this is a burden to Uber eats, I don't know.

The staff is wonderful, the food is fresh and delicious, the shop is always clean. The Med is my favorite salad by far, and the soup is always great, if you can get it. Great spot for fast, happy, healthy chow.

All of their dressings seem healthy... no fillers. Their salads are big and their extra large salads are amazingly big. I recommend this place if you like salads. Perfect for taking to go. Not a sort of sit down restaurant. I really wasn't too into their salads as much as other places but my coworker loves it and now that I've tried several and realized they make healthy dressing... I'm all in for Mary's Salads. I think all restaurants need to use healthy dressing and get rid of seed oils

Ok wow..... I came here because of all the raving yelp reviews but did not expect to love it this much!!! I didn't know salad could taste this good ahaha - I ordered the super green and the sauce was divine - not sure what was in it but was a creamy green sauce probably with avocado. I loved the variety of veggies they put in with the brocolli, kale, sweet potato, quinoa, tomatoes, etc it tasted delicious and healthy. I also loved the addition of the goji berries!! Made for a super nice texture. Can't wait to try the other salads.

Love a salad and this place definitely knows how to make one! I got the Thai salad and the dressing was so good I need to recreate it! Only thing is that I forgot to add chicken for some protein but I'll definitely be coming back! Lots of salad options and cute outdoor seating too!

I'm just a regular guy about 62 years old grew up around San Diego know most of the places to eat but oh my gosh you want a good salad a huge salad I mean like so fresh you can't believe it's so good salad and do you want to just deal with the nicest people the brothers that own this place named after their mom are so nice. Highly recommend order food to go order it delivered But in person man, what a breath of fresh air.

Great find in La Jolla! It's really cute hole in the wall. It only has a two seat table inside and a small seating area outside. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We got the Santa Fe salad, the East Coast salad and the cauliflower soup. We ordered to eat there. The salads were huge! They came in colorful large bowls. And even though one was a large and one a small, they both seemed so big! The soup was nice. But honestly I could have done with just the salad. This is a place I can definitely recommend. Don't miss it. Great service, food was fresh and full of great vegetables and stuff. It's super small but as I said before a great find!

Ooh I found hair in my salad. I got the large superfoods salad to go cuz my belly needs seven different kinds of veggies. I ordered at the counter and the service was good. She told me her favorite salad was kale caesar. And I love me some caesar but I'm trying to get seven different veggies and the salad wjth the most diverse is the Suoerfoods salad. After she took my order she went to the back and started making salads, 10 min later it was nicely presented to me in a container. So I liked it. I liked the dressing. The salad was mostly kale and red cabbage which made it extra fibrous. And I think you're supposed to massage kale to make it more tender or leave overnight with lemon. Whatever I ate it. The bowl was deep. Halfway thru I found hair. Not my hair. Someone else's hair. When I was a kid I worked at Pizza Hur. We had to wear a visor or hate to keep hair from falling. The red head boy wore a hat. I think he was 1/3 that did tho. Anyway, minimum requirement for edible food is no hair.

I definitely recommend coming here, their salads taste very amazing all ingredients are very fresh and delicious. I'm usually a very picky eater, but I enjoy eating here especially because they have many varieties of different salads but they also have a customizable option which I usually get. The servers are very kind and the food came out very quick. It's a super cute little place with great service and very tasty salads!!

Their salads are very good. We had the Thai Crunch and the Sante Fe. We opted for dressing on the side and they give you a good amount. The smaller size salad was enough for my teen kid and I had the large. We also had the fresh-squeezed lemonade which was great, sweet and tart. And the staff gave us samples of their golden soup which is similar to a curry lentil. It was flavorful comfort food and we immediately bought two containers of it to take with us. There a few things that could be improved about the experience: 1. Some of the salads don't include a protein. We added chicken to ours but it wasn't clear on the menu how much it would cost to add it. That should be explicitly stated. 2. The salads didn't have much protein included even after paying for it. What was there was tasty but it wasn't a very filling salad.

Genuinely. Who is Mary. Because. I love her. I HATE kale but this actually made me enjoy eating kale?!?!? The kale ceaser is SO. GOOD. It has so much in it that tastes delish and it was ready so fast. The employees were so kind! I enjoyed my meal outside and it was super beautiful. Shoutout Mary for real.

This place is completely out of the way from both my home and workplace but I still make it a point to pickup and order via UberEats once or twice at week(sometimes more!) because it's the home of my all-time favorite salad. You can really taste the freshness and quality of every ingredient. I found my favorite and as much as I want to branch out and try a new one from Mary's I remain loyal to my favorite. I get the Harvest Cobb and I add deli turkey and feta cheese. The sweet potato is seasoned so perfectly, the bacon is exceptional and the candies pecans and pepitas are the perfect crunch and full of flavor, the dressing is perfect. It's a small little shop on Pearl and very clean and cute. My order has been perfect every time, always been ready on time and the employees are always perfectly kind :) 5/5 for sure!

I ate there for the first time yesterday for lunch and had a delicious salad. I had the small one and it was plenty for lunch. Everything was fresh, just the right amount of dressing, chicken was tender and it was very tasty! I highly recommend it. Friendly and fast service too!

Mary's continues to impress. The team members are incredibly professional, kind and accommodating. They helped me to place a large catering order for work, allowed me to pick up a bit early, and even brought the salads out to my car. Everyone loved the fresh, delicious salads! Their ingredients are consistently clean & fresh. (The true test: the broccoli! I've been served broccoli with bugs at other restaurants--but never at MGS) The restaurant may be small, but it is always presentable. They also have a small outdoor seating area with benches & tables. I usually park on the street nearby. I highly recommend Mary's to any salad lover or company looking for healthy lunch options!

come here for deliciously created salads with the most relaxing la jolla vibe! i got the summer breeze (full) salad with dressing on the side. the combination of feta, quinoa, cucumber, strawberry, avocado, sunflower seeds, mint, chicken, and greens was absolutely *chef's kiss*! super refreshing and quite filling. i wish there was a bit more chicken, but the chicken inside was really nicely seasoned and cooked. the service was also quite friendly and quick. overall, i think the pricing is a bit expensive, but i think it is worth supporting a local business. i would definitely come back to try some other salads and to support mary's! highly recommend!

The salads were delicious. There are many different dressings. I tried 2 different salads and had no complaints about either of them. They are good portions. I wish I added chicken but I forgot. Nice healthy light refreshing choice. The cashier was very friendly and patient. The seating outside was nice and comfortable. It's a small place and parking can be an issue but I was lucky to get parking right in front. I can see myself enjoying a refreshing fresh salad and reading a book on a nice day.

After a long day of driving, with a stop for a big lunch, we arrived in La Jolla at dinnertime. We read a bunch of reviews and picked Mary's for a light, healthy meal. We were not disappointed! While the menu appears to be fixed, they're willing to make substitutions & even suggestions for changes. The ingredients were fresh and interesting. We ate outside at one of their tables, enjoying the pleasant weather. Definitely recommend!

My office tried this place a few months ago and I was instantly hooked. Though the price of these salads is NOT cheap, they definitely justify it by the flavor, quantity, and freshness. I don't think I have ever gotten an un-crunchy piece of greens in a salad I have had here, and I have gone back 4 or 5 times since having it a few months ago. My top salad recommendations are Thai salad and Chinese salad. It's the perfect summer lunch and they come in a standard 38 oz. or their bigger 42 oz. sizes. These are so good I definitely handle the 42 oz. without an issue. I sometimes get extra dressing just because it's that good! The service is really quick, they're a very understated storefront, and there is very limited seating as I think this place is best to go, the quality is not even remotely diminished by ordering your salad as take-out. The staff is friendly and though the seating is limited the store is clean and quiet, and very chill. I can't wait to try their new peach salad!

Mary's Gourmet Salad, Wow! I had the Thai Crunch and it was wonderful! I also had the Gold Coast soup... wonderful flavor, chickpeas, turmeric and a Whole lot of healthy stuff... not usually a turmeric kind of guy, but this stuff is fantastic.

I'm a huge salad girl. I used to drive an hour for my favorite salad shop up in Orange County. This was my first time going here! My boss has ordered this spot on doordash so many times. He says it's the best salad ever. I saw that it was close by the beach I was at and drove over. I ordered the lemonade and the kale Caesar salad (with extra dressing), it comes with pita chips, bacon, egg, tomatoes, kale/romaine, Parmesan cheese, and the dressing. I'm not a huge kale girl but wow this really is the best salad. Every bite was delicious. The bacon was such a great touch because most Caesar salads don't have it! I also love egg and it was perfect. The lemonade was nice and tart. Now I know how delicious this spot is! I'll be adding a salad to my bosses next doordash order lol. Definitely my new salad spot!

I got the summer breeze salad - really good. The standard size was huge for me! Sat outside with my dog - such a cute place! The service was 10/10 - was greeted right away and everyone was happy/friendly. Will definitely be back.
