Stopped by for some ice cream on our trip, and while the ice cream itself was delicious and the drive-thru was super convenient, the experience left a bad taste in our mouths-literally and figuratively.
We ordered two waffle cones, which were advertised as $3.75 each. However, when we got our total, it came out to $10.70. Confused, we asked about the discrepancy, and the staff casually said, "Oh, that's just tax." But after doing the math (8.25% combined state and city tax), that just didn't add up-it should've been $0.61 in tax, not nearly $3 more.
We went back in to get clarification, only to be told that the cone prices had recently increased by $1 each. Even with that adjustment, the math still didn't work. It feels like they're just making up numbers and overcharging customers, which is incredibly frustrating.
It's a shame because we're in town all week and had planned to come back nightly, but after this experience, we won't be returning at all. I hate to say it, but it feels like they're stealing money from people. Proceed with caution if you decide to stop by!
