Best Taco Tuesday Restaurants in the Bay Area | Eater

"With three Sacramento-area locations, Mas Taco is best known for out-of-the-box creations, especially where tacos are concerned. Think Indian butter chicken “tacos” in naan bread, Vietnamese pork tacos with sriracha and cilantro, or fried oyster tacos with Tapatio aioli. The margaritas are equally creative: for a to-go option, try the Cadillac margarita, with Cazadores Blanco, agave nectar, and fresh lime juice." - Vox Creative

Tacos were horrible, the tortillas fell apart, and even the salsas lacked flavor. The chile relleno taco is literally a tortilla, cabbage and a jalepeño popper. Tasted okay (I actually like freezer jalapeño poppers) but it separated from its batter and was a mess to eat. Limes didn't have any juice. Other taco was greasy, unmemorable. Happy hour taco menu was odd (Thai beef? Banh mi shrimp?) but maybe that's the way to go. The margarita was pretty but tasted like they use the cheapest liquor possible. Still more expensive than others in the grid, even during happy hour. The ambience is sterile corporate. I arrived and staff was chatting with police in the doorway at the entry. I scanned the bar for my partner, who I planned to meet there. The cops joked, "Are you looking for us? We're right here. Ha ha." I honestly did not appreciate the first greeting to a new restaurant being flippant cops blocking the entry from a customer trying to get in. Overall nothing I'd come back for.

Mas Taco Bar delivers fusion-forward nibbles along Sacramento’s historic R Street corridor—and it does not play by the rules. It’s complicated. Don’t let the word “taco” in the name fool you. Sure, Mas Taco will scratch that Mexican food itch, but they also sling creations inspired by everything from banh mi to butter chicken. Taco passport, anyone? ✈️🌮 From traditional starters to street food faves like grilled corn, to “burrito” bowls (the word burrito is on silent mode), to churro waffles—yes, churro waffles—Mas Taco’s got you covered from breakfast to dinner. The Potato Taco? A hearty taco , loaded with avo, roasted poblanos, fresno garlic oil, and all the cilantro. And while I’m not usually a fake meat kinda vegetarian, the Impossible Asada? Plant-based perfection. I’d swipe right again and again. 💚 The tacos can run a bit on the small side for $4 but they are delicious and worth it. Their drink menu? Always serving. But real talk—no margarita pitchers? A true crime. The Margaritas Gigantes try their best to compensate, but it’s just not the same. #sorrynotsorry Service is friendly and chill, but when it gets busy (and it will), expect a little delay. With neighbors like Ace of Spades, timing your visit is key. The vibe is vibrant, modern, and built for groups—inside or out. Parking, however? A mild nightmare. Bring patience, coins, or a rideshare app. How I break down my ⭐️ reviews: 1 - Not if it was the last thing on DoorDash. 🗑️ 2 - Meh. Maybe if I’m close, and high. 😬 3 - Mid. Not texting the group chat about it. 🤷‍♀️ 4 - Hella solid. Planning my next visit. 😋 5 - Shut up! Take my money. Om Nom Nom. 🔥

I've tried the one in Fair oaks absolutely no good but I will say that the one in downtown Sacramento is phenomenal. Service was impeccable we put an order in for tacos & 2 minutes they were at our table. Not the best pozole but definitely not the worst. And the Churro Sunday was phenomenal I was not expecting that at all it was really good. It's very loud in this restaurant but why not everybody's having a good time.

Google
Food was good, 3 tacos came out cold and the last one was warm. Service is okay, multiple servers went on their phone while we waited for the check and everyone seemed upset to be working. Energy was very low. Hopefully today was just an off day for them. Also no more happy hour! Which is why I originally went. Sad

Google
Dec 2024: The tacos were not traditionally made, but I enjoyed the creative fusion of different add-ons that made them unique. The fries were quite delicious and definitely a highlight. The Michelada, however, was a bit too intense for my taste, with its spiciness and bitterness being slightly overpowering. Overall, I wouldn’t mind coming back to explore more of the menu and try different items!

Google
Good place to get a bite and a drink. Good atmosphere and nice staff. I had the pozole which I had been craving, it was not the best but it wasn’t bad. My favorite taco was the braised short rib taco. The al pastor was okay, good flavor but didn’t really taste like al pastor. Overall good flavor and good drinks.

Google
Had some tacos really good and great customer service.

Google
I’ve been to the Mas Taco Bar twice and the food is decent, brunch would be my favorite compared to lunch. For the price of one taco it’s doable, the coffees are the best part. The service is okay both times we were forgotten about and there isn’t too many servers available. The seating outside feels great when it’s not too hot out.

Yelp
Spacious restaurant with a great happy hour deal on the weekdays with unique taco options. I came here on a Thursday night for their happy hour, and it was a great experience overall. There's ample seating both inside and out. We ordered the al pastor nachos, which were very filling and loaded. We also tried various tacos since it was one dollar off each. We tried the Chicharron, shrimp bao, chicken, al pastor, and fish tacos. All of them were great and it was fun to try so many different options. Our server was really friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. Overall, a great spot to hang out with a large group, especially during happy hour!

Yelp
I have had so many good experiences here-- and this is my first review! Their salsas are great, a delicious spicy one and one green regular one with great tomatillo flavor. The watermelon margarita is my fav, and the HABANERO BALLS...... my fiancée begs us to go just for these every time we visit. Not too spicy at all but they're just fried balls of delicious cheese and the mango sauce is incredible to pair with!!!! Only complaint is the mas fries that had a small layer of toppings... once the top thin layer was gone, it was bare fries, basically. The carne on it was ok, a small drizzle of sauce. Those could definitely be leveled up with way more sauce and meat. Service is always good & consistent timing. Happy hour is m-f 3-6pm with half off apps, so it's a greatttt time to go. I adore this spot. Cute vibes and a cute bar too. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place used to be so good. Back when they had the original trifold menu, that featured the butternut squash taco. Fire flavors. The menu keeps shrinking and the presentation and portions are not what they used to be. Drinks seem to still be okay. Service still good. But the food menu has gone severely. And prices up, of course. The "global tacos" are now at only 3 options. Bring back the crispy Thai and the vegan options, roasted cauliflower specifically. Also, only 1 greasy little fried tortilla per taco is such a cheap business move. Disappointing, won't be back.

Yelp
Stopped by with a few friends for a quick dinner. The restaurant was not super busy, and my friends and I did not have to wait to be served at our table. They had the football game on, but the place was still calm and relaxing. I got the al pastor, surf and turf, and carne asada tacos. They were all flavorful and delicious, though I will note that they were VERY wet tacos! Do NOT get them if you want to eat daintily. Shout out to our server - he was super helpful and brought me a to go cup for my mocktail without even needing to be asked. Fun place - will definitely be back!

Yelp
Mad Taco bar has become "ol reliable" when I come into town, and their selection of fantastic and creative flavors is always a delight! It is unlikely they have a taco I have not tried, and I honestly recommend nearly every one! Anything that has the Korean / Vietnamese bao bun is amazing, and the short rib is always delicious. Service is great, and I like the choice of patio vs. inside. The drinks are also fun!
google avatar

Yelp
The tacos are really great! I've had a few different ones, and they offer a large selection of unique tacos which is cool. The restaurant is very aesthetic, great for pictures and events. I didn't have the best service unfortunately when I went. The waitress didn't put my friends order in and I got my food 30 minutes before she got hers and she had to sit and watch me eat for quite a while before the issue was resolved. The ceviche I ordered also lacked seasoning and really could've used some salt and pepper.

Yelp
Came by last Friday night by complete surprise, was supposed to go for drinks at the Snug turned into late night happy hour at Mas Taco bar! I must say they had their ups in downs but all around we left happy with the service. My lady and I decided to grab some of their tacos and margaritas to end our night. I ordered the Birria Taco & Baja Fish Taco. Birria taco was a 4/5 & the consume was perfectly seasoned, sooo good. The Baja was smothered a bit too much in the chipotle mayo sauce so it was very overpowering, not my favorite. My date enjoyed both the Impossible Taco & Baja Taco but ultimately returned the Banh Mi, was not a fan of the flavor. We both enjoyed a couple of Margaritas, I ordered the Guava & she ordered the Watermelon Basil. Both drinks were super refreshing and had that nice kick of alcohol at the end! Overall the vibes were great, our server was a nice and welcoming. I would come back and try other items on the happy hour next time!

Yelp
They have good happy hour here. I mainly go for happy hour whether it's with friends or coworkers to hang out. Food is good, there's lots of seating indoor and outdoor and many other restaurants around that are walking distance. I like the mas fries, and the al pastor tacos and potato taco. I've always had the happy hour food and appetizers. The mock tails are good too. Parking can get tricky since it's in an area you have to pay. There's a small lot next to it, but I usually pay for street metered parking. The service is good. It seems we don't have a dedicated server, so they work as a group and check on is periodically so no one gets overwhelmed. I'll come back.

Yelp
Seat yourself lunch service. Waitress was super nice. Ordered pozole and some tacos. 4 stars for creativity...but overall, only 3-stars for taste. Was waiting for an explosion of flavor, was met with just ok flavor. Salsa on the carnitas was bitter tasting, al pastor had pineapple on top but no flavor of pineapple in the pork. Overall, felt like acid was needed but even that lime couldn't bring it up enough for me.

Yelp
Service 10/10!! Ambiance 10/10! Food 7.5/10, it was giving a little like chevys but upgraded the food but was still flavorful. The drinks 10/10! I would return for sure

Yelp
We came here for the happy hour during the week day! We found out there were select tacos and margaritas that qualified for the happy hour and not all of the tacos or margaritas. We ordered a couple from the happy hour menu but we definitely dove into the other tacos. The top tacos we tried were the fish taco and the crispy Korean beef taco! You can never go wrong with the taco menu here, they are all amazingly delicious! The chef here is a taco mastermind incorporating different types of tacos outside of the basic taco truck. From the indican curry taco, to the Korean beef taco, to the fish tacos, you will always get a wide, tasteful variety of delicious tacos! The meat is always juicy and marinated to appease your taste buds. We ordered the giant margarita which did seem to be about 70% ice. It seemed like there might be two margs in it between all the ice in the cup but it was still delicious and shareable. Más tacos is a must try if you've never been here before! I always come back for more!

Yelp
We were seeing a show at Ace of Spades across the street & arrived early to the area. After surveying the block's food options, we settled on Mas Taco Bar. Its front patio was ideal for soaking up the heat. Their version of a michelada had jalapeño slices floating in it without any of the spiciness. We shared Grilled Corn on the Cob ($4.25) which had yummy elote fixins & Habañero Fire Balls ($8.95) that was a little boring despite being very cheesy. I started with a more traditional taco, Drunken Chicken ($4.15), the beer braised chicken coated in tomatillo sauce, then moved on to a more unique offering for a taco spot -- Banh Mi Shrimp ($4.65.) Served in a bun rather than corn tortilla, this checked off all the Vietnamese boxes of pickled veggies, cilantro, & a sour-sticky Asian sauce. Delicious, but I wouldn't categorize it as a taco, per se. My bf enjoyed his tacos, as well, & commented that he'd never had such a meaty pork belly taco before! (Usually fat is its main ingredient, but not this one.) While our servers were nice when they finally came around, we were pretty much neglected from the time we sat down til the time they almost forgot to bring out our dessert. Not a deal breaker, especially with their tasty fare at rock-bottom prices, but I might seek out a different eatery if I were on a time crunch.

Yelp
Great place to grab a quick bite when going out with the girls on a night out! Obviously, the tacos aren't super authentic lol but they have unique flavors, a lot of variety and infusions with other cultures. My favorite taco to get from here is the indian butter chicken one. The meat is super tender and flavorful. Server was quick and the food came out fast. I love their drinks here, great place to socialize.

Yelp
Mas Taco Bar was a great find! We ended up here after wanting to eat at a different nearby restaurant but were disappointed to find out they were only serving brunch. Luckily, Mas Taco Bar serves both brunch and their regular taco menu on Saturdays! We got a selection of 6 tacos to enjoy. The braised short rib and ribeye steak taco were hands down our favorite. The crispy Thai beef was also amazing but a bit on the spicy side. The butter chicken taco was clever, but I'd probably skip it next time along with the Baja fish as it was just slightly under seasoned. The service here is mostly good, but it is seat yourself so I imagine sometimes it may take some time for someone to notice you if they are busy. Food did come out very quickly after ordering! The location is great with a beautiful indoor and patio space. We sat outside and it was a perfect day for lunch on the patio. I really loved Mas Tacos and although I'm not in Sacramento often, I do want to keep it in mind for future visits. There were a few bites here I know I'll be thinking about for a while!

Yelp
I really loved all the tacos we tried here! The shrimp ceviche was also yummy and tasted fresh. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
We came on a late night to get some tacos since the other local taco restaurant has an INSANE line. The wait time for here was equally as long :( we waited about a little more than half an hour on their *text* wait line. I thought the tacos were very tasty but just very expensive. The flavor almost made up for the price but the price is just too much. Therefore, I cannot give this establishment a 5 star review, even though their flavor is there. You most likely won't be leaving for under $40 for a couples night out. TLDR/Bottom line: pretty good tacos but crazy prices
google avatar

Yelp
We came in on a Friday night and were immediately seated. We were pleasantly surprised by their late night happy hour of $3 tacos and $6 margaritas, which was quite a steal. There were so many different taco options I wanted to try them all. I had the Thai taco which was the perfect amount of spicy and crunchy. I also had a seasonal margarita which didn't taste too strong. Our server was pleasant and checked in on us the perfect amount. Definitely a great vibe to start the night

Yelp
I absolutely love me some mas tacos! Everything always hits the spot!! Im pescatarian and my fave go to is the oyster taco as well as the Baja fish taco! Super packed with flavor and tasty!! While eating the drink menu was calling my name and I went with the trio tequila option and yes I had the pineapple to back me up as support!!! So fun trying the different tequilas!!

PL R.

Yelp
Nice spot for quick lunch. To go orders are still warm when returning to office a few blocks away. Food is good and staff are friendly.

Yelp
A friend and I went here before we went to Channel 24 for a concert. We arrived around 5:30 on a Friday night and were able to seat ourselves. I ordered the chips and guac and two tacos - surf and turf, and chicharron. Oh. My. Gosh. The tacos. Y'all, just get the chicharron. My absolutely favorite. The meat was SO tender, it melted in my mouth. The surf and turf was very flavorful. The spices were amazing. My friend and I both enjoyed the chips and guac. Their only flaw is that they had Pepsi products instead of Coke lol.
google avatar

Jordan M.

Yelp
My friend and I had a nice time at Mas Taco Bar. We went for some appetizers and drinks. I got a strawberry margarita and we shared chips and guacamole. I think the chips could have used some more salt personally. I did like the guacamole and salsa though. The service was good and I enjoyed the ambiance. I would like to come back to try out some tacos.

Yelp
Mas Taco Bar was recommended to me by a Sacramento Local, so I decided to give it a shot. First and foremost, This is a fusion taco bar, so don't expect authentic street style tacos here. We were on a mission and ordered a couple of them for a taste test. From favorite to my least favorite- *Korean Fried Chicken Taco- 4/5 The Bao bun was so soft, chicken was crispy and not greasy and the kimchi bought the whole taco together *Banh Mi Shrimp Taco -3.5/5 Wrapped in a Bao Bun, the elements of a Banh Mi definitely through. I wish it had more shrimp *Battered Fish Taco-3/5 Light & Crispy. Refreshing for a nice hot summer day. *Indian Butter Chicken- 2/5 Although I liked the idea behind this taco, it was my least favorite. To me the flavor profile was not giving Indian Butter chicken as it should have. The naan bread was a nice touch. Service was not great. But I would definitely give this place another try, more preferably on a busy day.

Yelp
I come here for Trivia often. It's always on Wednesday nights at 7 definitely worth checking out. The food is always deliciously consistent. I usually go for the short rib tacos but the Baja fish tacos are also super yummy!
google avatar

Jodi C.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this place! The batter on the fish tacos is do nice and light. I tried the Bin Mah Sprimp taco last night and it was fabulous. Please bring back the duck taco though, pretty please!
google avatar

Yelp
Was in the area with my cousin and wanted some tacos. It was slow for a Monday night. There was a sign that said: please seat yourself. So we grabbed ourselves some menus and picked a table. An old friend from high school was bartending so that was cool. There weren't many dining, about 3 servers running the show. We ordered right away and our food came out quick. We got a variety of tacos: al pastor, birria, shrimp banh mi, Baja fish, short rib and pork belly. I didn't have the al pastor or birria, but the others were delicious! Surprisingly I really enjoyed the shrimp banh mi inspired taco that came on a bao bun. Second fave was the Baja fish, as it had a creamy, tasty sauce. Overall, we got about 10 tacos and the guac/chips for around $70 tax and tip included. Our waters weren't refilled and it was tricky trying to get the server's attention, but we survived - no biggie. I'd definitely come back for taco tues!
google avatar

Katherine D.

Yelp
The margaritas are definitely made for two and the tacos are so flavorful and yummy. Definitely worth a try! Love how cute it looks inside!
google avatar

Yelp
Who wouldn't like more taco's? Well that is what Mas Taco Bar is all about! I have come in for lunch and dinner throughout the week and there is usually a spot at the bar for me. They also have extensive outdoor seating and tables inside. The decor is decidedly 'new Mexican' contemporary and bright. Service is always quick and friendly, and they usually have all the major sports games on. I really like the potato taco, it has just enough spice and that avocado cuts through it very well. Perfectly balanced bites. The beer chicken one was tasty too, but way too wet for the tortilla. I am slowly exploring the other options, there are many available and my appetite is small. The mocktails are pretty good too, but very sweet. Solid tacos at reasonable prices available at Mas Taco Bar.
google avatar

Amber A.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour on a Thursday afternoon! They had half off starters, $3 off select cocktails, and $1 off select tacos all based on items on their regular menu. Open seating during happy hour at the bar or any available table. I ordered a mas paloma, chips and guac, habanero fire balls, and a drunken chicken taco during my visit. My drink was really refreshing, and all the food was delicious! I particularly enjoyed how fresh the guacamole was. My favorite dish though was the drunken chicken taco. Definitely a great happy hour spot right in downtown!
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
Came here for the second time with my boyfriend for happy hour before our concert at Ace of Spades. We got there around 5:50PM, but luckily happy hour doesn't end until 6:05PM per our server! You HAVE to get the mas fries! So delicious and such a good deal when it is 1/2 off starters for happy hour. We've tried almost all of the tacos at this point, but our personal favorites were the crispy thai beef, fried fish, al pastor, and braised short rib. I also enjoyed the other tacos such as the birria, banh mi shrimp, Korean fried chicken, and Baja fish, but they weren't good enough to reorder next time in my opinion. We also ordered the peach and guava margarita and it was strong! Honestly I would not get this again. I preferred their chipotle mango margarita more from my previous visit. Lastly, service was very quick and accommodating. I didn't catch her name but she was very kind to keep checking up on us. We had a good experience trying all the cool fusion combos, we will be back again next time we're in the area.

Yelp
I love how creative the tacos can be! Get the PORK BELLY TACO, you will thank me later! Don't forget to ask about the secret taco, it does change! The chips are full tostadas which is interesting but salted so well! The margaritas are amazing. Be careful around the 32 oz glass. Watermelon and mint is very refreshing. Fun environment for groups!
google avatar

Jacob T.

Yelp
Overall: 3/5 Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Price: 3/5 Came here late night after Ace of Spades. Honestly, the food was really not that great. I will say the Pork Belly was tasty. Not super great, but it was solid. The Al Pastor Bowl was a miss. I didn't even eat half of it. The service was polite, not very attentive though. Great scenery, vibes and decor though. I'd eat the pork belly tacos again and try something else. I like the place, just think the food could use a little more authentic taste, my Al Pastor Bowl tasted like some who puts raisins in their potato salad made it lol. But I will give them another try

Yelp
Mas Taco bar is a great spot for a dinner with friends! They have a stacked and unique menu, like their butter chicken taco and potato taco. Their chips and guac is one of my fave appetizers from Mas. Everything is very photogenic as well, great for pics! As far as flavor, the tacos don't pack too much of a punch. They taste great, but some of them may benefit from a nice sauce or salsa. Their marg menu is impressive. The watermelon basil is probably my favorite of the margs. Each time I have dined here, the service wasn't the most uplifting and welcoming. I understand because they are usually pretty busy. However, the service is usually quick and the food tastes fresh! This spot has an amazing outdoor patio, with heaters and picnic tables. Great summer vibes live here! There is street parking around the location, some free parking too. Overall, a great spot if you are looking for a fun dining experience with friends!

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and we were so impressed! Great deals for HH for drinks and food. We had a wonderful server, there is great ambiance, and the food was great! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Every time I come I fall more in love with this place!! Ambiance: Casual but classy It's self seating, it's a clean restaurant, also has clean bathrooms. Went in around 2pm on a Friday, the energy was definitely calm before the weekend storm. Music had a house groove or alternative rock thing going. Met the owner Daniel, really nice gentleman and took care of us, thank you Daniel! Decided to try different menu items this time because why not!? And it didn't disappoint. Drinks: Water 1. Watermelon Basil specialty Margarita - DELICIOUS- I would pay $12 for this because it's made with love. The flavor was great, comes with watermelon cubes and a basil leaf as garnish. The drink also comes with a sugar rimmed glass, nice touch. 2. Peach & guava specialty margarita - came with a lemon slice and a gummy peach ring as garnish, my husband loved that. (He's big on fruit candy) this drink also made with love. *Looking forward to trying out their other specialty margaritas here. Food: Appetizer - grilled corn on the cob (on or off the cob is a choice, we chose off the cob) This was tasty, the corn was cooked well, there was enough mayo and cheese to corn ratio and was enough to share for 2 as a starter Entrees: Drunken chicken bowl - the chicken is tender and has a mild flavor. The way it pulls apart reminds me of chicken being slow cooked for hours. Comes over white rice cilantro peppers and pickled onions. If you want some more heat then take a bite of the jalapeños that come with it! Fried chicken bowl made to order like the pork belly bowl (this is not on the menu but thank you for accommodating my fried chicken craving!) - the chicken was tossed in a sweet red sauce, the bowl came with pickled onions white rice/cilantro, and bell peppers. There is a nice combination of crunchy, savory, soft, tangy, fresh, sweet and then don't forget the punch of heat that is justtt right. (Definitely needed a drink to wash down the heat though. It burned so good lol) Dessert: Churro Sundae - it was our first time trying this dish and it was yummy! The churro comes fried in this spiral laid flat on the plate, 2 scoops of ice cream with whip and a cherry are on top and there's chocolate and caramel drizzled on the plate. The churro is crispy on the outside and as you get closer to the center it starts to get softer as it's soaked in some of the ice cream while you work on the edges. Our daughter loved it! Service: Our server was really sweet and everyone who came by our table was friendly. The food came out pretty quickly, at the time we were seated there were about 4 other tables sat and a few people at the bar. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
For some reason yelp wont let me edit my previous review... so here's the rest... Battered fish taco ($3.15 during happy hour) was surprisingly full of fish, not all batter. Pork belly taco ($4.65) comes with about 4-5 chunks of pork which is lovely, but that single corn tortilla had a hard time doing its job under all that weight. The Birria taco ($4.95) came with 2 tortillas and held up nicely to the dipping sauce. Flavor was good.

Yelp
Food is still good just as before! But the better thing is their Friday and Saturday Night late night happy hour from 9pm-12pm for 6$ margaritas and 3$ tacos cause that is really good deal for late night eats and drinks. Lol you can even go drink next door at Snug after to continue the fun!
google avatar

Monica G.

Yelp
This place went downhill. I went last week against my better judgement for drinks and tacos for my birthday, the drinks were terrible so the second round we asked for a double shot and the bartender charged double the price. Why not just charge for an additional shot? I've never heard a business do that on top of that try add gratuity to the bills. It was only two of us btw. Never heard of a restaurant adding their own gratuity unless it was the 8 people or more rule. Gave 2 stars because the salmon tacos were okay at least .
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
Mas Taco Bar is one of those places I keep coming back to whenever I'm craving something fresh and flavorful. The elote is always a must (I get it off the cob). The drunken chicken tacos are my favorite taco on the menu, though any taco I've had here is good. It's the kind of spot where you end up ordering a little bit of everything just because it all looks too good to pass up. The vibe is casual, making it perfect for a laid-back lunch or an easy dinner with friends. Their margaritas are the perfect pairing for the tacos, and the staff always keep things moving quickly, even when it's busy. It's the kind of place where you can hang out for a while, share a few plates, and just enjoy the good energy.

Yelp
I've always had great experiences at Mas Taco Bar! Seat yourself style seating, parking can be painful but location is prime in downtown. The over style of the restaurant is so cute, low lighting very decorative. I also appreciate they have an "outdoor" kinda seating, not really outdoors but inside with a view of the outside. They have a great and affordable happy hour, appetizers are absolutely delicious. I always do chips and guacamole or chips and salsa. Tried the habanero balls this time and got the corn on the cob, requesting it off the cob to make it easier to eat. All so delicious and so affordable too! The tacos are a little pricey but they are always super good. I really recommend the Korean fried chicken, Al pastor, and the bahn mi! Sooo yummy! Drinks are great here too, love the margaritas! Service can be hit or miss, I've gone with great service before but then have also had poor service too. I think it depends on how busy the place can get but the food does always come out quickly.

Yelp
We came here for the $3 tacos and $6 margaritas and they did not disappoint! I got the braised short rib and Korean fried chicken tacos and both were so yummy! The braised short rib was my favorite, the quality was amazing. We ordered the raspberry and lychee margaritas and while I didn't taste raspberries or lychee, the drink was really strong and did its job to get us tipsy! The service wasn't the best because it's kinda slow even when there aren't a lot of people around. The ambiance is fun and loud, cute for a casual place to catch up with friends.

Yelp
My friend and I can around 8pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. We got seat right away as well as our orders. We ordered the horchata espresso martini and the season special, Santa's Lil Secret. I recommend both. They were delicious. I ordered the Pork Belly Bowl, which was a pretty basic dish. The ambiance was cute and festive! WARNING: They do add an 18% service charge on your bill already! Always ask for a itemized receipt to verify. I didn't check and left an additional 18% tip.

Yelp
Ordered a Pastor taco, Drunken Chicken taco, and ceviche and Dragonberry Mojito for a drink. Pastor taco - 5/5. Absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, so good I ordered another one right after finishing the first. Drunken Chicken taco - 3/5. Interesting flavor but had a specific aftertaste that wasn't my favorite. Ceviche - 4/5. Fresh and flavorful, but about 60% of the shrimp was sticking out of the sauce, so it felt slightly dry on some bites. Dragonberry Mojito - 4/5. Nice and refreshing, but had a bit too much mint for my taste. The wait staff was excellent - super friendly and attentive (5/5 service). The only downside was when I arrived and picked up a menu from the tray, it was stained with something. I noticed a few other menus were also dirty, so they should definitely be cleaned before handing them out. Overall, I'd still recommend this spot - the food is flavorful, the drinks are creative, and the service is great.

Yelp
Very disappointed today...we ordered guacamole, salsa, and chips. Chet charged us for the guacamole and then again for salsa. I don't get it...there are squeezed bottles of salsa on the table and you charge extra for salsa??? I asked the server and was told yes they charge separate. This place is across the street from office, will think twice about going here...really felt ripped off.

Yelp
I came here with my best friend, she loves the Baja fish tacos. Of course everyone is always friendly, I'm not sure if it's the owner or the manager but he seated us and took our drink orders and our initial order for appetizers. I got a mocktail and yes it was freaking wonderful!!!! My mocktail was better than the alcohol version. I got the watermelon basil margarita and it was so refreshing!!!!! Now I will say the service was slower than usual but hey we can't be perfect all the time, so I'll charge it to their head and not their heart. For starters I got the guac and the corn in the cob, except I did get mine off the cob, it was wonderful per usual. I tried something different this time, I got the fried oyster taco, braised short rib on a laughing bun, and the steak and egg taco and of course my friend got the Baja fish taco. Let me start off and say the steak and egg taco is no longer in the menu, but I was compelled to get this taco after I read reviews about it, it is definitely a must try!!! Steak was seasoned and juicy, I did expect it to be seasoned a little differently but still pretty good. The oyster taco was just okay, it lacked a little flavor compared to the other tacos sadly. The braised short rib on the laughing bun was pretty good, the meat was tender and delicious and I like the laughing bun. And the star of the show the Baja fish never disappoints, it's flavorful and speaks for itself, so just get it and thank me later, or not. Oh and last but not least I got the churro, they weren't the prettiest but it was an okay treat. It tasted like a churro and they had carmel and chocolate sauce.

Yelp
If you like tacos, you'll like this place. It's not your traditional Mexican tacos but a variety of creative flavors and choices regarding meat and cultural styles. I had the pork belly and oyster taco. The vibe was very lively and waiter was petty attentive. I will definitely go back to try some of the other taco options!

Yelp
Ordered spicy Caesar salad and it was very tasty and not too spicy. Loved the crunch. Staff was ok but when I first arrived I had to wait awhile to be acknowledged by the bartender to pick up my order. Thought that was a bit rude. I get he might've been busy but a simple I'll be right with you would've been nice

Yelp
Happy hour was great!! It's a great place to stop in for a drink or two. I recommend their margaritas too

Yelp
Mas Taco is the place to go if you would like to understand how it feels to be invisible. Grab a table and wait for ages without any acknowledgment and decide to abandon the place after no sign of help. This has happened three times. When you do get lucky, the food is pretty good.

Yelp
I won't dive into the complexity of their ordering system or the other problems and issues echoed in other reviews. Clearly that's a business decision, whatever. But when I walk into a bar...and both bartenders seem annoyed with not just being at work, but life in general...what are we even doing here? I believe Mayerli (on the check prior to paying) was our initial contact. WOMP WOMP. Dear god this girl looked like she'd be happier ANYWHERE else. Barely acknowledged us. Didn't wipe the bar (which remained sticky throughout.) We tried to overcome the anomie with excessive thank you's and please's to no avail. My beer took an acceptable 3-5 minutes to pour, my gf's ordered water took somewhere closer to eight-ten (forgotten perhaps?) and I didn't get a water at all. The food was put into the system without my gf's requested "no poblanos" as evidenced by the receipt (I had initially thought the kitchen messed that up. What if she had an allergy)? We closed out with Cerina (on the cc slip), who while in a marginally better mood, was still below what I would think of as the minimum threshold for front of house food service. My al pastor was dry, the gf's impossible asada was good (she said) and the potato tacos were good, once she hand picked all the peppers out of hers. We had to ask for napkins, had to ask for share plates (while eating all of our food off an aluminum tray was possible, not optimal) had to ask for silverware, and I finally had to ask for a water. The customer simply shouldn't be carrying this much weight here. I hear the owners also own Iron horse...which has some of the best staff I've encountered, so I'm not sure what the disconnect here was. I had come in looking for a good time and the best way to describe the "experience" was...dour.
