Mas Tacos

Hidden behind a taco counter in Penn Station near the old Amtrak board, this place is a gem. Didn’t have food but it smells incredible. Really good happy hour for midtown, and a relaxed vibe. Just needs WiFi or better cell service lol.

Amazing tacos and margaritas right in Penn Station. My go-to for lunch or before Knicks games / MSG events. Fast service, great drinks, and fresh Mexican food.

I tried their shrimp tacos with corn tortillas. It tasted pretty good. I might have let the food sit for too long because the food collapsed onto the plate. Maybe I’ll order the flour tortilla next time.

In what world is a bartender distracted from making money? Only in the world of Mas Tacos 🥴 I sat down at the bar last night and was quite literally the only person there, besides one guy. The guy already had food and a beer. I sat patiently as the bartender and patron spoke. After 20 MINUTES, I interrupted and asked for a menu. This is the second time it's happened. Different bartender, different guy but still the same setup. Idk why guys who don't have a life need to rizz up female bartenders, but this seems to be the spot for it. Great food, shit service (unless you're a single guy). Update: The response from management of reaching out to them to fix this issue? How am I, as a ex-customer of Mas Tacos, supposed to fix single males trying to get laid and the female bartenders entertaining it? TALK to your staff and communicate this issue is causing a loss in business (again, unless Mas Tacos' clientele is supposed to only be single guys, then nothing is wrong at all 🙄)

Came across the restaurant while waiting for my train. I ordered only 1 taco paid forgot to ask for receipt. My companion came after me and for some reason the cashier added my order to my companions order ,didn't notice until after we left. Hmm

Ordered 4 tacos, 1 burrito and received 3 tacos. I asked for 1 chicken, 1 pork, 1 beef, 1 barria tacos, and 1 surf and turf burrito. I recieved 1 surf and turf taco, 1 barria taco, and 1 pork. I was given the opportunity to fix it by the cashier, but I didn't have time as I had to catch my train. Food was bomb, just need what was asked for next time.

So I ordered a bowl and they gave me a really small bag where a bowl could barely fit and then while walking to my train the bag just ripped apart and all the overpriced food just came straight out of it. Food is good, nothing special but really overpriced, the service is pretty good but could be faster

What experience? I couldn't find the place!! For 2 hours, I was trying to find the place and was not successful. I asked peeps that walk Penn Station daily, and they gave me first a no clue look and looked in Google maps and gave different directions. Both took me outside to the street. When the ad says, "under Madison Square Garden." Not true!! Give us a landmark o close to a business. Something!! So I can, next time, rate this business. I was really looking forward to eating here. 😪

Good food! Got a chicken burrito. Very satisfied. There's lots of seating. There's a full bar in the back with a large TV. They also have tacos, salads, bowls, bagels, breakfast sandwiches / platters, desserts, coffee, soft drinks, etc.

Pretty impressed with this place. Was hungry and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Was a little annoyed that the menu pricing did not reflect the actual prices and that they forgot my consume, but otherwise pretty good. Service was good and quick which is good when you're trying to catch your train.

Ok in a pinch but really only meant for those late night moments when Los Tacos No 1 is closed. These tortillas are legit but none of the other ingredients shine. Friendly team and surprisingly spacious (albeit dark & moody) seating area in back with soccer on every screen.

I enjoyed my random tacos I got a chicken and pork with rice and other toppings. I would go back and the service was quick. They have a nice set up and a bar in the back.

It's okay. The fact they have the display for hand making the tortillas was enough to lure me in, however, the rest of the experience was mediocre. The tacos themselves were fine, however, serving the meat from the buffet style trays, it just ended up being too dry for me. I came at 1pm, so perhaps I should've been earlier? The rest of the space is nice - huge drink cooler with lots of options and a nice bar in back (would probably be good if you had a train delay or MSG event). Overall, it's fine, and they were friendly, just might want to lower your expectations a bit. I've had plenty of hole-in-the wall taco experiences that were way better than this.

Didn't expect a new taco place in Penn Station to produce a quality taco but this is now my favorite food at Penn. I had chicken Tacos Al Pastor. Very good and a touch spicy but flavorful. Saw someone getting a chicken quesadilla that looked amazing and is next on my list when NJ Transit has another delay.

I mean 5 stars should be a top gourmet restaurant but let's compare this to Mexican fast food .. Chipotle makes my tummy a bit ill all day so lets start with that .,I wanted a light lunch almost got a falafel wrap but ok walking around I stumbled into this place ..saw the beef taco with what the dip au jus just delicious!! You'll never go to Chipotle again unless you like junk food ?!! Bueno !!

Anyone gluten free or with any dietary restrictions should steer clear. It's one thing if the regular staff is clueless about what is gluten free in their restaurant or not. It's another when they pull out the chef and he comes out and has no idea what gluten is and if his dishes have it. it's pretty pathetic to be a chef and have no idea what ingredients you are using and what diets they work for or don't. Mexican food is usually gluten free except the flour tortillas so the fact that they had no idea speaks volumes. Los tacos and Dos Tacos Tacqueria understand perfectly and are nearby. You're better off going to them any day.

For starters, I want to say the tacos are amazing. My problem is with the bar in the back. The bartenders are disgustingly rude towards me and I'm unsure why. The first incident I went there on 11/5/24 to grab a quick drink before boarding my train, I sat at the bar for 15 minutes and wasn't acknowledged at all but I watched the two bartenders (one who was visibly drunk) tend to other people who came to the bar after me. I got up and asked for a manager and I spoke to a woman before I left. Now here we are 12/18, I was sitting at the bar waiting for someone to acknowledge me but I noticed they were servicing the people who sat down after me. I had to say something first for him to give me a fake smile and hand me a menu. I'm unsure what the animosity is about but it is very hurtful to experience this kind of behavior for literally no reason. I actually like this place but I won't be returning.

I ordered a burrito with birria on 12/7, and got food poisoning. I looked for a website or phone number to reach out to the company and let them know, but I can't find anything. I'd avoid this place, and definitely avoid ordering anything with meat in it.
