"It’s never hard to get a last-minute table at Marisol - maybe because this place is hiding out in the Museum of Contemporary Art. The food here is excellent, and totally worth dealing with the hordes of tourists crossing Michigan Avenue to get to Water Tower Place. You’ll find dishes like sunflower seed hummus, housemade pastas, and a fried quail with date honey that tastes like fancy chicken and waffles. Just try to leave before the shoppers’ mass exodus out of the nearby parking garages." - adrian kane
"Since Marisol is located in the MCA, you can combine a trip here with a trip to the museum. But if one of you no longer needs to pretend to like modern art now that you’re stuck together forever, it’s perfectly understandable to come here only for the fantastic food. The nicely composed dishes - like the sunflower hummus or the poached shrimp - are pretty enough to basically count as art anyway." - adrian kane
"Marisol is in the Museum of Contemporary Art (although you don’t have to go see any actual art to eat here), and it might not cross your mind as an option unless you’re bringing tourists around, or shopping nearby at Water Tower Place. But the great food here makes this place destination-worthy in its own right. You’ll find things like sunflower seed hummus, housemade pastas, and fried quail with date honey that tastes like fancy chicken and waffles. Come with anyone you want to convince you have hobbies besides watching reruns of Storage Wars." - sam faye, adrian kane
"Marisol is in the Museum of Contemporary Art, but other than the fact that you pass a help desk on the way in, this place feels like a normal restaurant. Not only does it serve excellent food (we particularly like the sunflower hummus and roast chicken with masa dumplings), but the space seems to attract mostly quiet-talkers. So basically, it’s the perfect spot to tell Mom that you’re pregnant. Conveniently, the adjacent private dining room, with its attractive mural, is perfect for a baby shower. You’re welcome." - adrian kane
"Marisol is located in the MCA, and it serves food you want to eat even if you’re not just here to look at an installation of cotton balls under black light. You’ll find dishes like sunflower seed hummus, housemade pastas, and bass with saffron polenta. Plus, the versatile space has a bar area that’s casual enough for a bite with a few friends, and a separate section perfect for dinner with someone who wants to talk about how cotton balls represent consumerism. Or something." - adrian kane, veda kilaru, john ringor
