Food was really good! We had the Vegetable Korma and the Chicken Korma. Yum! You know how they always ask you how spicy you want it? I said medium and my husband said "mild or less than mild", and they got both of our orders perfect! Can't go wrong with the Garlic Naan. It was also done to perfection. Atmosphere is nice. A bit more of a modern feel than some other Indian restaurants around. Full bar and good wine and beer options. Highly recommend!

Excellent flavorful dishes with kind attentive service and fair prices :) we had a great meal!

In Littleton, MA, visited with family for mother's day. Food and atmosphere is good. Small seating area, with quite ambience. Tried veg pakora - was fresh out of frier with Rupee Indian beer, sarson ka saag with missi roti, makki di roti & garlic naan, paneer Tikka masala - saag, missi roti & garlic naan was great, makki di roti was too thick for my taste, paneer Tikka masala was too ordinary. Overall great experience and would recommend if u are in the area.

I've been here several times. At first it was really good. Portions flavors service in a clean welcoming restaurant. I always hesitate and take into consideration places having a bad day or slightly off for staffing and other things. However I've been back multiple times over the years and it seems to become consistent disappointment. (over 10 within the past 6months )The naan bread is often burned each time, the food is lacking the flavors in the dishes and the silverware/plates/cups are often dirty. I'm not sure if there's new management or what's caused the change but I'm not willing to return here after today's visit.

Google
Just kind of meh. Not horrible, but not great. Balti was good, briyani was a massive disappointment. Aloo paratha was good, garlic naan was good. Sag paneer was bland. Probably would not eat here again.

Google
The food was pretty good, but the service was rough. We were sat in a place where the staff was constantly bumping into us, they were rude when answering questions, and it felt like we were being rushed out the second we sat down. I understand there are off nights, but I’ve heard about similar experiences from others.

Google
The food catered to more of an American taste palette which is totally fine. No complaints! Probably won’t be back but others may find it more to their taste!! Also I just witnessed one of the waiters wipe a spoon with his hand before he put them on my dessert bowl! Yuck!! One last thing is the price on the menu and the bill do not match! Updated: 09/14/2022 This is not Indian food. Please do not get fooled by the name or the menu. Good lord the food is gross!! I thought I’d give it a chance. To all the white folks who dine here, this is not indian food. Don’t fall for the gimmick! Could give -stars if I can

Bob

Google
The food was just okay and left me wanting more flavor overall. The Vegetable Pakora was good. Shami Kebab needed more spice, it was bland. Methi Mattar Paneer was good, paneer cooked well. Tarka daal was lacking flavor. Very small servings of sauces. Mango Lassi was okay. Lastly the Diet Coke mix was off, lacking carbonation and that DC flavor. Service was fine no complaints.

Yelp
I placed a takeout order and when I got home I noticed that one of my order items was not in the bag. This was not a big deal but I tried calling the place a few times to ask if I could get a refund and wasn't able to get a hold of them. They called back several times and when we finally connected they apologized and offered to give me a free order of that item the next time I place an order. Great handling of customer service!

Yelp
Food was good. I had the opportunity to visit with an Indian friend who felt the food was ok. I found it spicy and very good. My friend felt the food lacked spice. It had heat, but lacked authentic Indian flavor.

Yelp
The food was delicious and service was good. The place looks nice and new. We had chicken tikka masala and lamb curry with naan, and samosas. Unfortunately one of the plates on the table was chipped, they should pay more attention to details.

Yelp
Swing in here for dinner with my youngest daughter and her husband. We ordered the butter chicken, vegetable pakora, chicken pakora and naan. Rice was fluffy and delicious. Each dish was absolutely spot on good sized portions too. Staff was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely go again

Yelp
I rarely give three stars to my local fav restaurant since we visit this place frequently. Their food is authentic and good and the place is quiet with parking. Which makes it a solid 4-5 star restaurant in my opinion. BUT every time we dine here i come out feeling super crummy because of the wait staff. The lady who works there is the most unfriendly and rude waitress i've come across. I've tried to ignore it few times since its our fav indian place but its been happening so consistently that i feel the need to update it on my yelp. On one occasion she forgot one of our order and when i brought it to her attention she had the nerve to say, "no you didnt!" So we went back and forth saying "yes we did" vs "no you didnt" game which i found it to be pure ridiculous. We had two adults at the table who also heard me order the food(which was about 5-6dishes) and she NEVER wrote anything down on paper. Experienced wait staff would have said"let me check on it" or "let me throw that in asap" she stood there accusing us that we DIDNT order it. There wasnt even an ounce of doubt she might be wrong or she might have missed it. So thats the attitude we have to deal with everytime we are dining here. Never apologetic and always so rude ruining our meals every time.

Yelp
Excellent food great service good prices! we got the tiki masala mince lamb naan. Very tasty and good spices.

Saurabh G.

Yelp
We paid $100 for 3 people, ordering 3 entree and 3 beers. Good location, decently tasting Indian food and service, at a slightly more expensive price than I would like - but then, it's New England, so we are definitely not in Kansas anymore. Their dal makhani was my favorite. The chicken curry was a bit unimpressive as I was hoping for their Telugu spices to kick in, which were somewhat absent. Their Saag Paneer was also okay, not great but not too bad either. The Chai was a total turnoff, just not worth ordering here.

Yelp
Found this place off of yelp and was excited because of the reviews. Walked into a restaurant with only two tables full. Waited 15 minutes because the waitress was on the phone taking orders the whole time while the manager just stood there and watched. Service was so bad another couple left because they were tired of waiting for the waitress to come take their order. The food itself was decent. The chicken tikka masala what is trade of tomato sauce. Everything else was decent nothing great. Definitely would not be back.
google avatar

Yelp
We got there pretty late, after a movie, and were clearly going to be the last table sat. The staff were still perfectly attentive. We got Saag Paneer, Pork Biryani, and something else I forget now with chicken. It was very good. We got medium spice and that was very tasty for me (I'm usually pretty sensitive to spice. This had a kick but delicious flavor so it was worth the kick.) is definitely go back!

Yelp
Good food. The spicy side even for mild. A bit different from the usual Indian regions are represented. Service with a smile and concern for our enjoyment.

Yelp
Place is clean and looks nice. We ordered garlic naan, spinach paneer, chicken tikka masala, mango lassi and chai(tea). The spinach wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked. The kids and grown ups both liked the chicken and the mango lassi. I was expecting my chai to have aromatic spices but it was more black tea with a lot of half and half. Our favorite Indian restaurant is in Woburn so this place paled in comparison. There aren't a lot of Indian restaurants in the area so I think it's just ok.

Yelp
First time visiting this restaurant. We walked on a Saturday afternoon with one other table inside. We were told to take a seat but when we tried to sit at the bar, the manager waved to a table, we asked if we could just sit at the bar to which the manager asked us if we were going to eat and we replied yes, then she asked us if we were going to order food too. We said yes to both food and drink. She seemed annoyed. Got us a menu to share. We ordered two beers, an app and two entrees. We had to ask for our beers to be poured because the server took our order and just left us sitting at the bar. The beer we got was old and not carbonated. We suffered through the beers and decided to share a canned beer in the fridge (at least it would be carbonated and cold?). Unfortunately the beer was warm. The server was rude and obviously not happy with her job. She had an attitude because we had to ask another member of the staff for our beer we ordered. She came over and told us with a snort that she hadn't forgotten our beers. Steps of service are not in order. If someone orders a drink, get them the drink first and then the food, you could possibly even upsell a second beer when the food course arrives. My partner and I were not familiar with the menu, we google searched some of the menu items. When the restaurant is dead THAT is when you have time to show off your skills and help guests feel invited. The manager seemed confused, my partner asked her if she owned the place and she responded that she was a manager. She couldn't fathom that she was a server, relax, not everyone can be a manager, some people have to serve and there isn't anything wrong with that. What a strange and cold experience to have at a restaurant, absolutely no hospitality. Food was very flavorful and portions were large.

Yelp
TLDR: Order takeout if you know what you want. THE REVIEW: Came here for dinner with my boyfriend because Indian places are usually great for having vegan options for me (bf is non-veg). Came right at dinner opening, was completely empty and quiet. No one else came to dine in but we noticed a lot of people coming to pick up takeout. Appetizers - Vegetable Samosa + Chicken 65 Entrées - Vegetable Vindaloo + Lamb Tikka Masala Apps were good. We asked for all of our food to be extra spicy and they definitely delivered (on my boyfriend's end). Good flavor. I am giving this place 2 stars because: - I do not believe they served me vindaloo. The curry I was served was yellow when all the vindaloos I've had and made at home have been a deep red color. Perhaps it's a from a different region and I could be ignorant (which is the thought that kept me from voicing the issue) but I was very disappointed. It was more sweet than vinegary or spicy. It tasted more like vegetable korma. - Waitstaff was alright, kind of standoffish but not very attentive. Took a while to get the check considering we were literally the only ones in the restaurant and only ordered 4 things. - I'm pretty blind without my glasses on so I thought their ceiling was black, but it turns out their ceiling is exposed. Not sure if they're doing renovations or not but they don't have any ceiling tiles.

Yelp
This place is in a plaza where we took a quick stop, on the way to New Hampshire and I opted for a take out of a few chaats. The chaats were like curry and didn't taste remotely closed to the real ones. The only good thing is that I had to wait only 10 minutes to get the order.

Kurian J.

Yelp
Consistently good food. Highly recommended. Taking off one star for the front desk person who has no idea how to do that job.

Ryan M.

Yelp
this restaurant was great a couple years ago. I'm not sure what happened. the last two times the sauces were watery and flavorless and the chicken was dry.
google avatar

Yelp
Very reasonably priced but their Chicken Tikka Masala was not very good. You would think that is the dish that everyone gets so they would make it tasty. Oh well.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp when I was looking for Indian places to try. I was disappointed to discover that their lunch buffet was unavailable. I was unable to find indication anywhere online that it was closed, especially considering that their website was still offering it! However, my initial disappointment did not affect the great service and food I received. I honestly only dropped in because I was craving some butter chicken and naan bread and this was the closest place I could find. The quality of the food was amazing. I ordered the butter chicken with mild heat and it was perfect. A lot of flavor and the chicken was cooked just right. The basmati rice on the side was also just how I always like it. In addition, I ordered their garlic naan. It came with large bits of garlic cooked into the surface and provided a great texture on top of an already delicious bread. Would love to come here again to try more food. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Great food in my opinion, but lousy customer service. We ordered takeout on Sep 16. Spent $108 which included a 15% tip. Husband picked it up and came home only to find 1 item missing. It's a 40 minute round trip drive so I wrote them an email asking for a $17 refund to my card - the price of the missing Chicken Tikki Masala. I've written twice, and twice I've been told they were processing a refund to the credit card. Today is Sep 29 and still NOTHING. It is SO FRUSTRATING to get takeout only to find it's wrong once you get home, and then they won't fix it to boot. I WAS a regular customer, spending $75 to $100 per order. I won't be making any future purchases with them ever again. I hope the hundreds of dollars lost in business each year was worth it to you, for a paltry $17 refund Parvin Gill. Yelp
This place came well recommended by my brother, who dined in. However, it was a total disappointment when we ordered take out. We know our Indian food, and don't plan on going back here. The naans were awful- almost like they were store-bought and they took them out of the freezer and served it. The freshness wasn't there and it was rock hard. The curry also tasted like a frozen store-bought curry that was microwaved, mixed in with some raw tomato purée and served up. The chicken in the curry was stale and looked sickly grey. The aloo tiki again tasted stale; almost like it was stored away for a while in a freezer, thawed and served. Overall, a non positive experience here.

Yelp
Like the ambience, food & service is Ok. But I hope that management fix the errors in drink menu. First, the bar doesn't have a water or soda tap, which is basic thing in any bar. Second, the prices in bar menu are misleading and I was not clarified about the same. So I was surprised to see the bill. I paid it, but not happy to pay more than what I expected.

Yelp
My first time here with my wife a couple weeks ago. Was excited for a new Indian food place. First thing I will say is that the food was incredible! The service was seriously lacking, but at the end of the night the food was enough to make us want to come back. If I were to guess, the night we went was unusually busy and they may have been understaffed. They provided a small bottle of water as we sat down which was weird and worried me that something may have been wrong with their water? We were seen by a server a few minutes in who asked us for drinks and then proceeded to ask us "what else" thinking we would mediate the ready to order. After this the service was downhill so much so that they forgot to put our food order in and came back to take our order again when they realized. They did give us some complementary apps but unfortunately it was one that we had already ordered and eaten earlier in the night. They forgot a few things that we ordered but honestly the flavors were very good and made us forget. I hope they can take some deep breaths and get the front of house in order for the next time we visit.

Yelp
This place was good, not great. Service was good but it was a random Thursday night. I had the garlic naan which was excellent. Really enjoyed the naan. Mango Lassi was very good. Where the meal kind of fell apart was the Lamb Kadai. I've had lamb Kadai only one other place and it is an amazing meld of flavors. This was good but pales in comparison to my other experiences. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. Ordered medium heat which was fair but it didn't have the flavors I expected

Yelp
literally saw a rat run across the floor.... i don't even know? i was astonished. i couldn't eat after.

Yelp
The important thing to know about Masala Bay is it's essentially just a takeout place. We went here for dinner last night and the service experience was deeply subpar. From the waiter dropping plastic pony bottles of water on the table for our water, to the constant phone ringing for orders that are run out to the pickup table, to the congregation of "waiters" that mostly ignored us (initially the only ones in the restaurant). I had to ask twice for glasses of iced water with the second request received as if I was harassing for something unreasonable. And they were out of 5 (yes, 5) of the wines/beers on the menu my husband asked for as each beverage requested in succession was "out." All that being said, the food was really good. I had chicken saag, my husband had lamb tikka masala and our friend had chicken masala, all accompanied by garlic naan and chili naan bread. Resistance is futile, so don't go here for a nice sit down dinner, rather call ahead and just run in to pick up your dinner.

Yelp
As we entered the restaurant we noticed that everyone eating here was Indian. That's usually a great sign. We are very picky when it comes to Indian food. Neither of us is Indian but my wife cooks some great Indian food. I have to admit that the food at this restaurant really surprised us with how good it was. We had the buffet and tried everything they had to offer. The dishes we had were very authentic and had a nice balance between spice and hotness. I went back for 'seconds' and later regretted overeating. The negatives were really minor. We showed up at 2pm and there was not much left in one of the dishes. We scooped and scooped to find a few pieces. The gulag jamun was more cake-like and we prefer the spongy type. Other than that our meal was excellent. We will definitely return here.

Tc T.

Yelp
Food is fine but beware when ordering takeout to double check what you charge. I picked up my order (usually pay station is in front) but when they couldn't find our order, we went to the bags and helped point out the order. Then I gave the a worker my card but did not ask for signature (bad oversight on our part) and said we're all set. When our credit bill arrived we were surprised the amount charged was $8 more than the receipt that they gave us with order. So we dropped by and explained discrepancy to staff. Said ask maybe we ordered a drink. We said no. She went the back for some time and brought a receipt with $8 tip line item. We said we did not tip and if it was entered, it was a mistake. Instead of just returning measly $8, she said she needs to contact her manager. We just left and said this is not worth the $8. Why would we waste our time going there to lie... Suffice to say we'll never return here. Just felt like we were scammed and/or they thought we're trying to scam them over $8 ?!?!?!?

Yelp
I have been to this place before pandemic. And revisited here recently. With the pandemic situation they have been following the covid guidelines quite well. In Masala bay you will get one the best North Indian/ Punjabi dishes. The food is flavorful and not spicy. Flavors would linger on your taste buds for some time. And you would indeed revisit this place. Their butter chicken is one of the best dishes. It's creamy, flavorful slightly on sweeter side. Chicken is tender and tasty. The garlic naan is scrumptious and they serve it hot that goes really very well with butter chicken. For us the server served us butter chicken , daal tadka, and rice. And naan came after 5 minutes. That was really odd. Ideally they should be served together. Also they should definitely improve their to go boxes. The current boxes are awful. Your food would get mixed till you reach home . Some improvement can definitely be done for this.

Nicole G.

Yelp
We have been coming to Masala Bay since they opened five years ago. Every other weekend, we place a large order with enough food to feed us for the entire weekend. We know what to expect. When we began unpacking our order tonight, I discovered that the five orders of papadum were just crushed tiny pieces with many of the pieces burnt. I was confused. We order papadum all the time, and it's never looked like this, like a box with a few random crumbs. I called the restaurant to explain the situation. The woman said that they didn't have boxes big enough for the papadum and that's why they were in pieces. She then passed the phone to someone else and I again explained what we'd received. He told me that that's how it's supposed to be and that I could drive back to the restaurant so that I could see what a papadum looks like. Seriously? This is the response to a customer who has a problem with something which was received? I know what a papadum looks like. I've been ordering them from this restaurant for years. He was unwilling to accept responsibility for a food item that was not acceptable. I didn't want a replacement, just acknowledgment. To top it all off, the vegetable pakoras were dried out and hard, and they were most likely the previous day's leftovers as we were one of the first orders to be called in after they opened at 5:00 pm. We frequented this restaurant for so many years, dropping hundreds of dollars each month. They are the most convenient choice for Indian food, but we will no longer be coming here. It's clear they don't value their customers and the convenience is no longer worth it.

Yelp
Enjoyed the dinner. Authentic Indian flavors and masala. Was full on a Tuesday evening. Ambiance is pleasant and the staff is quick and eager to please I would recommend the chicken tikka from the tandoor and the butter chicken with pudina paratha

Jeanne D.

Yelp
I had such high hopes for this place, but after waiting 45 minutes for takeout (was told 25), hardly any chicken in both entrees, chicken tikka masala spicy when we ordered it mild (couldn't eat it) and sag flavorless, not to mention expensive for the quantity - never again.
google avatar

Jagadeesh V.

Yelp
I would give zero stars if I could. We visited on Saturday. The next table was seated after us. Not only was their order taken, they had their appetizers and drinks but no one came to take our order. After wasting 25 minutes waiting to order, we got up and left.
google avatar

Kyra T.

Yelp
Used to have an amazing lunch buffet which I have not been to since COVID-19 began but always had amazing options. Take out is ready on time and fresh!
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Don't bother. We ordered delivery and they didn't get part of our order. We called to see why and realized we weren't charged for the items. We offered to pay for the missing item and were told, "no problem, we'll bring it out to you. Sorry about that." We thought, that was nice of them. Two hours later, nothing. I called back and the manager whom took the original order told me that my wife never ordered the item but if I wanted to drive there and pick it up, he would make it for me. No thanks. Wrong answer. I'll go elsewhere from now on. It was good food but it wasn't that good. After I wrote this he called back to say he would bring it out. I'm not interested. After he said two times that my wife never ordered the item we were done.
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
Service is poor. The outside appearance was appealing so we went in for lunch. Looked clean, there were only two other tables of people eating so we were seated quickly. We ordered food, apps came and hadn't been given water which isn't the issue, the issue is that no one was paying attention or available to flag down. That was fine we finally asked when our food came and got it right away. Then nothing. No one available after the food was dropped off. Staff were standing near the back chatting away and didn't see me trying to get their attention even as I was in their line of sight...weird, so I had to get up and ask for boxes and the check. The check never came so I had to get up again and interrupt their conversation to ask. Overall food was okay, service was very terrible. Basically felt like we came into someone's home, interrupting their daily life vs a restaurant.
google avatar

Lynne L.

Yelp
The food is consistently very good. Tandoori chicken is our most-frequently ordered dish, but the dals are excellent too. We used to enjoy their buffet, but I'm not sure that's a thing since Covid. We get takeout from here quite often and it's always been fast, fresh, and hot. Dining in is pleasant too - not fancy, but modern and comfortable.
google avatar

Darcey R.

Yelp
Love this place! Friendly service, great food, their mango martini is delicious! The food is always fresh, hot, and amazing. We haven't had a dish here that we didn't like.

M L.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch. While I would like to try more, I was only able to try the chicken vindaloo and kerala duck curry. They were both good, although I wish the "medium" spiciness was more spicy.
google avatar

Bailey v.

Yelp
Loved everything! Such a nice and warm takeout for my husband and myself. Tiki masala was wonderful. Glad to finally taste part of the menu...we will be back! Thank you, Masala Bay!
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
Good service. Vindaloo was really spicy hot. Almost difficult to eat. I still enjoyed the flavors and delicious Naan. The place had a very busy take out business and seems popular with the locals. Prices are reasonable. Okay/price value relationship. I would return to try another entree on their menu.
google avatar

Diana N.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night and was able to get seated right away. I ordered the paneer tikki masala and it was so full of flavor and spice. I ordered spicy which was enough heat to need the rice to tone down the heat but not spicy enough to be painful. If you do not have a tolerance for spice, I would go mild. If you do, go medium. I also had the garlic Naan, 1 order is enough for 2 people, unless you want leftovers. I also had the masala chai and it tasted very milky but it did have a lot of spice at the bottom. There were a ton of takeout orders, so if you're in the mood for Indian food, stop by or order to go!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was delicious but could've been a little spicier, portions were minimal as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Super yummy. Sliced ginger jn the meal I ordered. Need more words. Don't know why Yelp requires this
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
Delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere. Great selection of food. The garlic Naan and chili Naan are so flavorful. The butter chicken is moist and savory. Make sure to try the chicken or lamb masala. There is a full bar, and a selection of Indian beers and cocktails. Prices are reasonable and portions are plentiful. We will return!

Yelp
Great Indian food. The delivery took a bit on a Saturday night but it came at the end of the time promised.

Yelp
Masala bay is not the perfect place but it does a fantastic job of filling my needs for quality Indian cuisine! Great options, great quality, beautiful inside and worth the money!

Syanna L.

Yelp
Food was yummy, especially the garlic naan. We also ordered the shrimp vindaloo and mango chicken, all delicious. The only reason they're not getting a 5 star, cleanliness. The cups they gave us were dirty. With all that's going on, I think it's important to make sure everything is sanitized and cleaned well. Other than that, food and staff were great.
