I get why people say the place is beautiful and the service is great—because it really is. The staff were super welcoming and the whole vibe felt upscale, just like you'd expect from a Michelin guide restaurant. But honestly, the food didn’t live up to the hype. I expected way more. The biggest issue was the chicken—it was so tough it felt like chewing rubber. And it wasn’t just one dish, it was every chicken dish we ordered. There are some places you’d consider giving a second chance, but this isn’t one of them for me. I wouldn’t really recommend any of the food. That said, the view and the space itself were amazing—definitely a beautiful spot. Just a shame about the food.

The restaurant space was looking very clean and elegant. The interior, music, and staff uniforms reminded me of India. Mrs.Lala paid attention to details as offering additional papadum and crackers. Also, the menu has been renewed recently, so she recommended a dessert for me. She was very friendly and had a long experience in hotel restaurants, so she behaved very professionally. I visited at dinner time, so I would like to visit at lunch time.

Lovely restaurant located in the most iconic building of Doha. Food was amazing, with some of the best lamb chops I have ever had and lots of free appetisers. I was also given a free desert as was celebrating a special occasion. However, the restaurant was empty on a Friday night. Also, the service was a bit pushy. When asked for a soft drink, the waiter advised us I should instead get a glass of wine as it’s the same price, and he then proceeded to sell me a 1500 QAR champagne. Would I be in this restaurant if I could not afford a glass of wine? In addition, he came over many times questioning why our drinks were not yet finished. Despite the above, if you are looking for good Indian food in Doha, with great views in a pristine location, this is a great choice.

Masala Library : A Disappointment in Authentic Indian Flavors Despite the elegant ambience and attentive service at Masala Library in Doha, I left feeling profoundly disappointed by what was supposed to be a premium Indian dining experience. The restaurant boasts an impressive interior and the staff was undeniably courteous and professional. However, the food—which should be the heart of any dining establishment—failed to deliver the authentic flavors that define true Indian cuisine. What's particularly frustrating is that Masala Library carries such a prestigious reputation in the culinary world. The restaurant clearly invests in presentation and atmosphere, but sadly, the food does not do justice to either its celebrated name or the rich, diverse tapestry of authentic Indian cuisine. For those seeking genuine Indian flavors in Doha, I would recommend looking elsewhere. A restaurant of this caliber and price point should deliver an experience that honors the traditions and complexities of Indian cooking rather than serving a watered-down interpretation.

Masala Library certainly makes a strong first impression with its stunning décor. The brass doors and sleek white palette set a sophisticated tone, creating high expectations for the experience ahead. The ambiance exudes elegance, hinting at the upscale dining I was looking forward to. However, that initial excitement quickly faded as soon as we interacted with the staff. The reservation clerk, rather than offering a warm greeting, made a peculiar remark, noting that he had seen us dining at a nearby restaurant and suggesting there was no need for us to dine again as there wasn’t a table big enough for us. He laughed it off by saying that we already ate before so there’s no need to eat again here. This remark felt completely out of place and conveyed an unwelcoming tone, leaving us feeling uncomfortable and setting the wrong tone for the evening. Service overall was fine. The waiters, dressed in traditional Indian attire, provided efficient service, fulfilling their duties adequately. The food, unfortunately, did not meet expectations. I had very high expectations since it’s a Michelin star restaurant. The yellow daal, which had been highly recommended, was bland and lacked the vibrant flavors I had anticipated. The chicken in the chicken biryani was rancid, making it inedible. The garlic shrimp was the only dish that stood out, but it wasn’t nearly enough to redeem the meal as a whole. Overall, the presentation of the food was mediocre and not Michelin star worthy. Overall, Masala Library fell far short of the Michelin-star experience I had hoped for. The combination of an unwelcoming atmosphere and mediocre food made it feel overrated. I won’t be returning, especially because of that odd comment about us eating again; I would suggest exploring other options for a truly exceptional dining experience.

Extremely fun and delicious experience, highly recommend trying their creative set menu - especially nice for a date as the fun bites, atmosphere, views and food really encourages having a good conversation. We absolutely enjoyed everything we had. I even had my first shrimp in over 10 years and it was really really good. Very welcoming and courteous staff. Definitely worth every Riyal!
