I recently visited Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra at the Fairmont Hotel in Lusail,Doha, and it was a thoroughly delightful dining experience. The food was consistently impressive across everything we tried. The Tandoori Gucci was the absolute highlight — aromatic, rich, and beautifully prepared. The rasmalai was outstanding: extremely tasty, soft, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. Even the simpler dishes like the kulchas and the chicken stood out for being juicy, flavourful, and thoughtfully crafted. The ambience added so much to the experience. The interiors are elegant and calm, with a warm, modern Indian aesthetic that makes the meal feel special without being overwhelming. What made it even lovelier was the beautiful view of Lusail through the windows — a serene backdrop that elevates the dining atmosphere. Overall, Masala Library is the kind of place where you can order confidently, savour the ambience, and enjoy both the food and the setting. I would happily return to explore more of their menu

Masala Library at Fairmont Doha, a Michelin‑selected gem, presents Indian cuisine as a sensory journey in four theatrical “acts” that span the subcontinent’s landscapes—from forest perfumes and oceanic waves to fiery crescendos and Himalayan hymns. Begin with their signature kulcha, ideal for savoring with rich, layered dals; expect elegant nods to West Bengal through vibrant, fish-forward creations, and inventive interpretations like deconstructed butter chicken and goat-cheese kebab—each dish a thoughtful blend of tradition and molecular flair. End on a sweet note with delights like jalebi “caviar” and the memorable bebinca dessert, all served within a sophisticated, high‑ceilinged space that feels both modern and majestic. A dining experience that lingers long after the final course.

had an absolutely outstanding experience at Masala Library. The food was nothing short of spectacular each dish was a perfect blend of creativity, flavor, and finesse. From the presentation to the taste, everything felt thoughtfully curated and executed with excellence. A huge compliment to the chef and the entire team for delivering such an unforgettable dining experience.

Lovely restaurant located in the most iconic building of Doha. Food was amazing, with some of the best lamb chops I have ever had and lots of free appetisers. I was also given a free desert as was celebrating a special occasion. However, the restaurant was empty on a Friday night. Also, the service was a bit pushy. When asked for a soft drink, the waiter advised us I should instead get a glass of wine as it’s the same price, and he then proceeded to sell me a 1500 QAR champagne. Would I be in this restaurant if I could not afford a glass of wine? In addition, he came over many times questioning why our drinks were not yet finished. Despite the above, if you are looking for good Indian food in Doha, with great views in a pristine location, this is a great choice.

I get why people say the place is beautiful and the service is great—because it really is. The staff were super welcoming and the whole vibe felt upscale, just like you'd expect from a Michelin guide restaurant. But honestly, the food didn’t live up to the hype. I expected way more. The biggest issue was the chicken—it was so tough it felt like chewing rubber. And it wasn’t just one dish, it was every chicken dish we ordered. There are some places you’d consider giving a second chance, but this isn’t one of them for me. I wouldn’t really recommend any of the food. That said, the view and the space itself were amazing—definitely a beautiful spot. Just a shame about the food.

The restaurant space was looking very clean and elegant. The interior, music, and staff uniforms reminded me of India. Mrs.Lala paid attention to details as offering additional papadum and crackers. Also, the menu has been renewed recently, so she recommended a dessert for me. She was very friendly and had a long experience in hotel restaurants, so she behaved very professionally. I visited at dinner time, so I would like to visit at lunch time.

However, the food—which should be the heart of any dining establishment—failed to deliver the authentic flavors that define true Indian cuisine. What's particularly frustrating is that Masala Library carries such a prestigious reputation in the culinary world. The restaurant clearly invests in presentation and atmosphere, but sadly, the food does not do justice to either its celebrated name or the rich, diverse tapestry of authentic Indian cuisine. For those seeking genuine Indian flavors in Doha, I would recommend looking elsewhere. As we love indain food we were staying at the hotel we went down to try masala library my 1st impression was amazing by the staff and ambience and the view. love the appetizers and the main dishes as well it is a nice experince to visit for special events the place is quite with nice indain music with outstanding service by tiyasha she was helpful and friendly overall i give it 8/10.
