Thank you and good luck to this wonderful family! I can't believe we found this place again after it moved from Food Lab in Riverside. Wow Factor. Family prepared savory cuisine with authentic seasoning, love and time invested in the food and product quality. I literally had tears of joy steaming down my face the first time I had this food. It's made special by special people. Support this business you will not be disappointed. There should be a line out the door it's so delicious.

Going in with no expectations, I was very delighted by decor, customer service, food quality, and pricing! I was greeted as the first timer and was not rushed for order not sure what to get I was intrigued by chicken tikka fries and Indo Fusion noodles. Wait about 15 minutes. Food is made to order. I was happy to see people handling food with gloves on. The pictures speak for themselves; food was an absolute 10/10. Quantity was plenty for less than $23. Will be back for the fries again. Highly recommend. Its halal... 🔥

First time here and I am so glad we went! Everything about the dishes was delicious! Made fresh as well. I personally loved my dish the Tika dilla! So yummy and so filling. If you have not been here, check Masala Mischief out! The food is great, service is excellent, and the people are very sweet.

I love this place. I love their spices and combinations. Tikka Chicken Fries and quesadilla are amazing. So is the lamb. My next order will be the shrimp coconut curry The saffron rice is nice. Certain dishes are on the sweet side. Order accordingly. Offers vegetarian options as well.

Tried this place finally for the first time on Friday night. There were a couple parties ahead of us, but was surprised we had waited a half hour by the time our to go order was ready. I couldn't make up my mind so I ordered both the chicken Tikka dilla and the butter chicken sandwich. I would order the quesadilla again, but not the sandwich. It was very dry and needed more sauce. The lettuce on it was also shriveled and slimy by the time I ate it which made it even more off putting. I do feel like the prices are a little high, but all in all, I would return... just not for the sandwich...

Was very excited to try this place, the pictures looked so amazing. It was our one cheat day so we went all in and tried the butter chicken sandwich, paratha chicken tacos, and samosas. The sauce used on the sandwich and tacos tasted mostly just sweet. As if was just made out of a slathering of pure tomato paste, we barely tasted any spices. Maybe it was an off day for them or someone messed up the sauce? The paratha alone and the samosas were very crispy and tasty. But I was so disappointed that I felt I had wasted my cheat day here.

AUTHENTIC family owned Indian food. Their fusion tikka masala fries are delicious and the rose falooda is a unique desert I’m glad I’ve come across. Food is fresh and service is great. I noticed they have it posted that with student ID you get 10% discounted. More people should be giving them business!

Absolutely delicious! This place should be pack for lunch a dinner everyday. The Samosas are great and flaky. But my absolute favorite is the Chicken Tikka-dilla! My photo shows only half of it, very filling and tasty!

*HALAL FRIENDLY!* I was very happy with my experience here! Despite arriving very close to closing, the staff was incredibly welcoming. The interior's decor felt like I was about to discover a lowkey spot, if you know what I mean! As we were deciding on what we wanted to order, the staff was so kind and patient in helping us decide. The interior was quite spacious and they encouraged us to sit inside even though they were about to close. Because we didn't want to inconvenience them and there were tons of seating options outside, that's what we decided on. I heard that the Tikka Masala Fries were consistently delicious, so I knew that's what I had to try. I ordered it with paneer, and its reputation truly preceded itself. It was so flavorful, filling, and delicious. In addition to that, the price was SO good for the HUGE portion given. I could not even finish my box, but I was excited to take home leftovers for later. I also tried a bit of the samosas, Indo-Chinese noodles, and the garlic naan. Each of those were also very tasty. I would order more garlic naan next time because it tasted so good alongside everything. I would definitely recommend a visit here for quality fusion food and amazing service! I was also so excited to find out that this restaurant is halal!

This restaurant has NEVER disappointed me. Their food and service is consistently top tier! The owners and staff are always so sweet, helpful, and welcoming. I have always had a wonderful experience when I come here. I crave the chicken tikka masala fries often (they are good with paneer too and great portions). They are always so cheesy and flavorful. Definitely my favorite item! The samosa chaat and Indo-Chinese noodles were great, as well! I was so happy to find a place that serves samosa chaat. Also, their naan is so fragrant and fresh. Love to see that they offer halal food! The place is decorated with nice art and it is clear that the owners put love into their food and restaurant. Overall, I highly recommend coming here to everyone!! There is plenty of parking, as well.

Delicious, affordable Indian fusion food. Perfect for uni students wanting a filling dish. They do validate here! There's indoor seating and outdoor seating near the fountain. We got the Tikka Masala Fries with paneer. Big enough portion to share between 2 adults. Perfect temperature for the fries, the cheese was pretty gooey, lots of sauce and spices. It also had some crispy noodles on top. Eclectic Indian, Chinese, and American fusion. Each bite was different and I didn't get tired of eating it at any point. Def going to stop by again in the future.

These people advertise themselves all over Instagram with incredible ads and videos However the god was exactly opposite and we suffered after a long drive we finally decided to stop at the place while going back home from our long trip. We wasted our money and were still hungry as we could not eat due to bad taste

I enjoyed their fusion take of Indian food. I ordered through GrubHub. The food is aesthetically pleasing and has college vibes. Ordered the chicken tikka masala and curry chicken 2 items combo with rice and garlic naan, samosas, and chicken tikka masala fries. Great comfort food all around. Highly recommend their samosas and fries. The samosas were fried to perfection and the filling was spiced well. They put a light seasoning on the outside which took it to the next level of heat and spice. The dipping sauce that came with it was sweet and balanced the heat. The fries were surprisingly good too. However, I didn't care for the curry chicken and garlic naan. The chicken seemed rushed and it didn't absorb all of the flavors. The curry felt like it was missing something. The naan was okay, it was more of a doughy bread. It wasn't flaky. PROS: good fusion spot, offers delivery through GrubHub CONS: prices are on the steep end. Long wait for delivery.

...it's gone...it's all gone. There are no photos to show you of the best Indian food I've ever had, my apologies. Ordered the two item combo, chicken tikka masala, chicken 65 with saffron rice. With the garlic naan it's heaven. The sauce is so flavorful, they even gave me an extra dollop of sauce on the rice so don't worry about it being under sauced, it's perfect. The doneness of the rice is exactly what your tummy is looking for, I swear to you. You see Samosas on the menu? Yeah go ahead and order those, my uncle and I demolished those. Fresh, crispy, filling exploding with seasoning...am I on top chef?! The chutney that comes with it is so delicate and sweet but compliments every single bite they provide you. Okay so like, here's the bonus. Do you crave fresh fries? How about CRISPY TATER TOTS? Just...just order it...they deliver you a bag with fries or tots inside with a sweet and sour chutney that will make you forget what ketchup is. It's so addictive. This is everything Riverside needs, excellent quality food, extra care to attention and you can tell this restaurant is their passion. Thank you for this lovely meal. You will hear from me again.

This is the spot!!! First time here by chance, And we are so glad to have explored masala mischief. Ordered The two item combo with chicken tikka masala and chicken curry with basmati rice and garlic naan. Everything was absolutely delicious and Flavor for both dishes were on point, the flavors were immersed into the dish and was very obviously cooked with an abundance of love and expertise. Cashier went above and beyond as it was our first time there and we also had questions about the paneer. Wow, Paneer is quite interesting and really yummy.

Great service, nice people. Clean restaurant. The food was mid- different kind of flavors with it. Chicken masala fries- sweet, not enough spice, flavor did not just hit like regular chicken masala. Low quality food. It's like a fast food Chinese restaurant when you're use to going to higher end food. Fast food, Indian food.

Ambiance: A colorful eatery with a good amount of seating and friendly staff that knows how to make good recommendations. They seem to be a small mom n pop shop with a great passion for the food they prepare. You can tell that this reflects in their voice when they greet you. The noise level is very average, a good medium at best. Food Choice: Chicken Tikka Dilla Cheese should be the key word for this entree. There's just enough of it to remind you that this is a Mexican quesadilla and enough spices to remind you that it's also Indian tikka. For a fusion entree between Indian and Mexican, it makes for a unique combination. A mild spice hits the taste buds but a lingering sweet after taste follows which is quite satisfying. I have honestly enjoyed the mesh of both cultures in one dish and would recommend this fusion entree. Drink Choice: Mango Lassi Truly tastes like a well blended mango smoothie. A tad bit on the sweeter side, but I personally like it this way. Overall Experience: Felt thankful that we chose to came here today as we had a good experience. It felt as though that we had just finished a home cooked family meal, as if we were actually in someone's home. The establishment itself doesn't have that homely feel, but the staff and the food definitely brings that vibe. I would highly recommend this place and I look forward to the day that I get to come back here again. Thank you for this experience.

I ordered through Uber Eats - my order was ready quickly. Greeted with a smile by the owner. The seating was spacious we will be back to dine in. Delicious food. Be sure you ask level of spiciness if you aren't fond of spicy. For us it was deliciouuuuus. 2 Items Combo $19.75 Saffron Rice $2.00 Garlic Naan $2.00 Plain Paratha 2.50 $22.25 It is a little pricey but very delicious.

1st time here and I tried: (Chicken) Tikka Masala Fries - (picture) The 1st bite was heaven!!! Flavor was good, not bland and not too salty. The fries were fried perfectly and were the size that I like, not super skinny and not big steak fries. The chicken was tender and not dry. I think they season the fries too in addition to the chicken Tikka Masala on top but don't quote me on that. There's also a slight spicy kick to it as well. They have Paneer Tikka Masala for those who don't eat meat too. Samosa - (picture) Also delicious. Flavor was good. They sprinkle a light seasoning after it's been fried which adds an extra kick. You get 2 samosas in the order and it comes with a (what I assume is) mint/cilantro and tamarind mix chutney to dip in. I love the chutney! Mango Lassi - (no picture) It seemed on the thinner/watery side when I first saw it but first sip and that thought was out the door! So sweet and refreshing, especially after all the savory dishes. I'd probably order a gallon of it if I could! Chicken Curry and Potato/Cauliflower Curry 2-item plate with basmati rice - (picture) This was probably the underwhelming dish out of all of them but it was still good and tasted homey. I'd save it for a meal where I want something more filling with less flavor explosion. I actually liked the vegetarian curry more than the chicken, don't know why. The chicken was well cooked though, very tender. Add on the garlic naan for $1 more (no picture, you get 1 naan) and you have a very warm and comfy, filling meal!... My only problem was I did find a strand of hair in my rice when I first opened it (picture). It's not something that super bothers me, though. I picked it out and carried on. I'd just recommend the staff to maybe wear a hairnet in the future, just in case... Overall, I could probably live off the samosas and mango lassi here lol. It seems to be more catered to the college crowd given their Fusion section on the menu. I think they tried to achieve a balance between traditional dishes and more "modernized" ones that would appeal to a diverse student crowd. Makes sense since it's near UCR. Personally, I like saag dishes and was sad they didn't have any. But I'd still come back for what they do have.

Great place to get a taste of India. During the night they have free parking in the plaza. Ordered Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Reshmi Kabob, Chicken Indo-Chinese Noodles. The food were made to order. My favorite are the Chicken Tandoori and the Chicken Indo-Chinese Noodles. The Chicken Tandoori was flavorful and delicious with the green sauce. The Chicken Indo-Chinese Noodle was just as good and a kick of spicy. Definitely worth checking it out as they have special and discounts.

Best Indian food in Riverside. It's handmade by a really sweet lady and you can tell that they make their food with lots of love. The portions are massive so it's worth the price and they're naan bread is out of this world (and only $2!!) even if you just want a snack, get like 3 naan breads and it's a meal by itself. I have gotten food twice now from Masala Mischief and they do not disappoint! These photos are from my second round (each time I used Uber Eats), and on this round I got the paneer tikka masala fries, chicken pakora, and a mango lassi. Everything was super delicious and flavorful with good portions! Last time I also ordered their dahi papdi chaat, maybe my least favorite thing. Please excuse the photos-- I totally forgot to take photos before I dug in! Tikka Masala Fries: The first time, I tried the chicken and the second, I got the paneer. I am a huge fan of "ethnic fries" as I call them, and these have to be in my top three. The sauce is really flavorful (but not at all spicy so be forewarned if you are expecting that). I wasn't actually expecting cheese, like mozzarella or something similar, but it paired well with the saucy fries! I personally preferred the chicken to the paneer, coming from someone who loves paneer a lot. I think the chicken pairs better texturally with the fries because while the paneer was delicious, the texture is too close to that of the fries. It needs that contrast. Really really yummy either way though, and pretty large portions! Chicken Pakora: The first time we ordered, it came with tamarind chutney and the second time, they gave us green chutney. I personally prefer tamarind overall, but found that the green chutney was actually quite a welcome burst of freshness to cut through the heavy, saucy nature of the fries. The chicken pakoras come in really large pieces and are really juicy! The outside isn't as crisp as I had hoped, probably due to sitting during delivery, but they're well seasoned and taste like good pakoras. They come with around seven large pieces and make a perfect side. Mango Lassi: Their mango lassi is pretty classic. It's thick and sweet and has good flavor. Of course, it IS a lassi, so definitely consider how much it's going to fill you up before you order it alongside lots of other heavy food. Some other places do like, rosewater mango lassis etc., but I personally like the classic kind best. It's great to have in the Riverside heat. Dahi Papdi Chaat: So the chaat was not my favorite and is actually the only thing knocking this review down a little. I wasn't super happy with the actual papdi. It came with ten pieces (not bad), but rather than the light, crispy papdi I'm used to, they were thicker and more solid ones. It was well packaged, so the papdi and the actual chaat portion came in separate containers, but the dahi was too runny to pick up with the papdi and the potatoes chunks were too large. I think due to the packaging unfortunately the sauces all mixed together so you don't get each distinct flavor. I did appreciate the pomegranate, but overall it wasn't the best. I was a little disappointed because it was my friends first experience with classic chaat and she didn't think too highly of it, but it definitely wasn't bad! Probably wouldn't order again. Overall, Masala Mischief is a solid place to go if you're craving classic chaat dishes with a modern twist. I have yet to try some of their more daring fusion dishes like the tikka-dilla or fusion tacos, but I'm overall really satisfied with the food. The only thing I didn't love was still pretty decent, just not the best I've had. I've had a hard time finding good chaat since I left the Bay and am glad to have a new place to go to! I'm also fairly certain this is a Bengali run place and I literally never find those so that's super cool! Definitely will be returning (like today, again with Uber Eats lol) and can't wait to see what else they have to offer.

We decided to give Masala Mischief a try and they did not disappoint. The food was so savory and delicious. We each had the one item plate of Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan and for desert we had Gulab Jamun with ice cream. Everything was simply amazing. We can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu. If you're looking for good Indian food in the Riverside Plaza area, definitely swing by and try them out.

This place used to be in Riverside Food Labs when I first tried it. I was sad when they left and then got excited when they opened again in a new location. It was a tad bit hard to find in the plaza, but once I arrived and called them they directed me to the right place. Very friendly and excellent customer service. The food is made to order and is always hot when you receive it. The food and flavor is delicious and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves or wants to try Indian food. They never disappoint. Sooo yummy!

The food is top tier. This is the best Vegan Wrap I've had in my entire life. Service was great too! The wrap's ingredients were fresh and hot. 100/10

Sometimes when walking past the Riverside Food Lab I can smell the curries from the dedicated range exhaust and it always makes me salivate. With a traditional and modern spin on family cuisine, this eatery has daily special menus and absolutely delicious samosas (check-in on Yelp to earn a free sample). A previous visit saw us trying the namesake chicken masala and I thought it was a mild sauce compared with other Indian restaurants and a good choice for someone new to the cuisine. The aforementioned samosa was fresh and crispy with peas and potatoes inside and two sauces (savory spicy mint and sour tamarind) to dip into. That had my lips smaking force while afterwards. Recently I joined my buddies who had arrived earlier and ordered the daily special, Tandoori Chicken, served with cucumbers and onions with a fresh naan and yogurt sauce. It looked and smelled delicious so I ordered it for myself and devoured it. I love their spicier take on the seasonings and the naan has a great consistency to it as well. Try something different and step into a new perspective on what's for lunch or dinner.

There are very few truly cravable dishes being made here're in town. I can't stop thinking about the tikka masala fries.

Delicious with giving portions, especially paired with the fresh garlic naan. The owners (I'm assuming but correct me if I'm wrong) are pleasant people and very accommodating as well. Excited to come back and try their chicken masala fries! There's designated parking for that particular plaza which is free on weekdays and free for the first 2 hours on weekends.

I'm not sure what happened to this place but I can guess they changed ownership. The food isn't as great as it use to be. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala. First off the color was odd. It was really red and so was the chicken. It taste like a box mix they just threw in with some yogurt. No spices at all. I didn't even finish it I had lost my appetite. The garlic naan taste like it was microwaved because after a few minutes of sitting it got really hard a dry quick. Most likely I won't come back here. There are better local places that serve authentic Indian food.

I have been coming to Masala Mischief for quite a few years now (at least since 2020!) and have never been disappointed. The quality of the food is incredible (the mango lassi is heavenlyyyyy), the wonderful staff there are so kind and sweet! I left my umbrella there the other night and the had a chance to grab it and save it in case I came back. Whether you've never had Indian food or are a big lover of the cuisine, this place is always a restaurant I recommend first to friends and visiting colleagues. 5/5 stars, thank you all for providing wonderful and delicious Indian fashion foods with kindness and care.

I almost missed this beautiful gem if it were not for my wife asking me to check it out. We came out having a delicious lunch next door at Kimchichanga and my wife pointed out that she would like to look at their menu. In we go, and that's when our love affair with this join started. It' a family run restaurant and the food they serve is a perfect example of how fusion food should be served. They fuse Kolkata/Bengali food with American and Mexican food and they do it really well. The result is an amazing selection of well thought out menu which is sure to delight both Indian and Western palates. The place is small and kept very clean, and Surja, the gracious host takes her time to explain the dishes to the unversed. Friendly service and delicious food are a given at this place. I tried almost everything on the menu and my favorites are the Chicken Biryani ( only available on Saturdays and you might want to call to check for availability before ordering), Butter Chicken Burger, the cauliflower, chicken or veg chowmein and Chicken Manchurian tacos and the Lamb Kosha ( Lamb curry done in Bengali style). For me the chicken biryani has been an all time favorite and eating it for the first time took me back to my childhood days in Bengal. Cooked in Bengali/Kolkata style, my craving for the biryani finally got satiated. The spices are done just right, and the potato is my favorite. The meat is very tasty and tender and I have called these guys almost every weekend to order. One thing that struck me was that the taste stays traditional to the Kolkata street food that we get back in India and there is no whitewashing of the menu or the dishes. I recommend everyone try this little gem of a place and I can assure you, you will not come out disappointed.

Word of caution! Chicken tikka Masala is bland for me. If you know and like your spices this is not the dish for you! The owner/manager was kind enough to replace my meal with chicken curry and accommodated me for my experience! They also recommended a side of green chili. This place is catered for a BROAD AND GENERAL audience so the spices or spicy level may not be to your liking if you love strong spices in your dish!!!! Thank you!

We've tried a lot of Indian food places, and this is our favorite. Everything is freshly made to order, and the flavors are incredible! We have had the shrimp coconut curry, chicken tikka masala, chicken 65, chicken tandoori, samosas. and chicken pakora, and always get the saffron rice, which is amazing. The tandoori chicken is soooo good! All of it is, to be honest!

The food is always great and tasty, you can never go wrong with the chicken Tikka masala. Service is always top notch also the workers are always friendly and food comes out pretty quick depending on what you order.

Upon visiting a friend in Riverside, I knew I wanted her to take me to the Riverside Food Lab and glad I stopped by Masala Mischief for their tikka masala fries (4/5). I thought the fries were quite tasty and came in a generous portion. More than enough for two to share. I can see how others may find the fries to be dull in taste since most of the sauce and cheese is only at the top. I recommend mixing all the sauces and toppings so each fry is adequately layered. I also asked for a side of hot sauce which helped! Decent option in the Food Lab!

Yums who doesn't love some good Indian food! This place is located inside the super popular Food Lab Hall in Riverside. They do have a whole variety homemade of dishes ranging from your usual tikka masalas to your veggie and vegan options. But the absolutely favorite item here was the Chicken Cream Tikka which was like a super creamy party in your mouth with that super flavorful tender meat. That sauce is literally to die for whole served with rice with some cucumbers and chutney. The Chicken Tikka Masala Fries are an absolutely must try here also which is literally a chicken masala served on a bed of yummy fries instead of your typical rice. The extra starchy fries just helped soak up all that yummy juice and oh just made u wanna lick the plate clean. Definitely check this place out if you're in the Food Lab Hall!

Horrible food, it's an insult to Indian food. The meat tasted old and gross. I took 3 bites and ended up throwing it away. Please don't waste your money here.

I've been wanting to come and try this place out for years and I finally have had the chance to. I came in a day when it wasn't busy. The inside looks very modern. I ordered the masala fries, it has great flavors. The only down part is the parking, even though the lot isnt full today you will still have to go through a paid parking lot. Also it is located near a university which is good and bad. Good because of revenue and what kids can bring to the businesses, bad because there are some homeless people that sleep in the vicinity of the building so walking to some areas smell. But despite that don't be afraid to come to this restaurant and try their bomb food.

Omg!!! Who knew this place would be so good?. I know Indian food is not a main stream go to food when you say "what are we going to eat tonight" they are in the Food Lab in Downtown Riverside. I was very surprised by the flavors of the food I ordered the Moglai & the Chicken Tikka Masala Fries, they were not spicy hot, but were full of flavor. This is a family owned business and Surja is the daughter of the owners who are all very nice, and I never knew what to order nor expect, but now that I did I will definitely go back to try other items off the menu the fear is gone. They also carry veggie dishes, platters, and rolls for the vegetarian, vegan or conscious eater. Stop by try something new and tell them you saw it on Yelp.

Of all the different eateries at the Food Lab, Masala Mischief might still be flying under the radar. They're worth a try and the staff are friendly and accommodating to suit your needs. Chicken Tikka Masala is always a good starting point for Indian food so I'll typically get that or Korma when I try a curry place for the first time, and it's a bonus that they offer this in loaded fries form. The portion of the Tikka Masala Fries was large and I enjoyed the creamy savoriness of the dish, reminding me of the flavors of my favorite curry houses in England. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying other items on the menu!

The food and service is always spectacular! It is truly authentic and delicious. We return each time we visit Riverside. This is a must in Riverside.

Absolutely awful. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I got the 2 item plate with Chicken Tikka, Chicken Curry, and a Garlic Naan. Both chicken items had NO flavor what so ever or even a hint of traditional spice with these items. Naan was undercooked. At least they got the flavorless rice correct. I wish I could give a 0 star. What a waste of money.

Was in the area and decided to grab some Indian food. Friendly faces with great service and really good chicken curry and naan bread. It was so good that I ate a plate here (chicken curry, lamb curry and tikka masala) and ordered some to go for dinner.

Delicious!! I ordered a Butter Chicken Sandwich, Samosas, and a Mango Lassi. I love butter chicken and I love chicken sandwiches. Put together, it was actually mind-blowing. I didn't expect much really because I have found most places in Riverside to be overrated but I actually said, "oh shit. this is really good" and had my friend try some. We were both surprised by how well the fried chicken pairs with the butter chicken sauce. The samosas were good and I love their chutney so this place really hit the spot. The mango lassi was also very good and I will definitely come back whenever I'm craving Indian food. My friend was visiting me from the SGV/626 area and had their combo with Tikka Masala and even asked for us to come back here next time he visits. They are reasonably priced, and also offer student discounts.

This is an absolute GEM! It is made with love. Everything is rich with ghee flavor but not greasy. I know it sounds strange. The nan bread is buttery. The tandoori it perfectly burnt. The chicken tikka was just sublime. I use to nanny for an Indian couple so I know authentic. This is the real DEAL! The only small hangup is the to go containers are flimsy. They pack everything tight but the container cracked and leeked inside the bag. But I was bummed the few drops were not inside my belly. I was tempted to lick the bag. It is honestly that great! Order 3 or 4 nann's breads because you only get one when you buy the nann. We were use to another location giving us 4 per order. I wish I had pictures but it was that amazing. I forgot photos.

Absolutely delicious. This was our first time ordering from here and we will be back very soon. Shared the Indo-Chinese Noodles and the Tiki Masala Fries with my husband and they were both so good and perfectly spicy. Highly recommend.

Got the fusion tacos and am in love!!! Super spicy and flavorful. So yummy! Definitely coming again and telling friends.
