Amazing Indian food! I will say I ate here cause I wanted to cool down from sweating all day from walking. I didn’t realize that medium spice for the lamb biryani meant still meant painfully spicy for a parched person LOL. Amazing food regardless would love to try the mango lassi if I ever do visit again. Very kind and hospitable people working here too. Food was served hot and newly cooked.

Google
Being vegetarian, we ordered veg Momo's and veg biryani, and they both were super delicious. Veg options aren't significant, however, the available veg options are sufficient. If you are around this area, you should definitely try this small restaurant. Self service. We are onsite and ordered to-go for the next day. Inside seating available. Roadside limited parking. Restrooms are available for customers.

The food was really good, I forgot to take a pic at first so ignore the little nibble I took. Overall flavorful, fresh, and satisfying.

My favorite Indian restaurant in DC! Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Food is exceptional! Please try the chicken Tikka masala with the garlic naan! Perfect combo! I'll keep coming back until I try the entire menu! 😅🙏🏼

Google
Red doored Indian food in the middle of Georgetown. Tables are a bit dated. Service: Prompt and friendly who understand the menu. Vegetable Biryani: Well spiced, tasty, veggies were fresh, crunchy fried onions on top gives it more texture. Tikka masala paneer is well spiced, savoury, filling. $16 Biryani, $14-$16 entrees. Overall: great Indian fare with well spiced and balanced food. Recommend! Probably 4.5*

Google
Not at all authentic, the Biryani had frozen veggies and rice was not cooked at all, the yogurt raita had no veggies and was stale. Very disappointed. I chose to go there because of 4.5 stars and google reviews, I was very disappointed. My friend who ordered the special of the day enjoyed her meal but that did not look fresh either. Most disappointing was no chai several customers came in for chai and there was no chai. Which Indian street food would NOT serve chai.

Georgetown is a delightful place for eateries and as Indian is my favorite cuisine it was a no-brainer to try this restaurant for lunch. It isn't a lavish place with expensive silverware and plates but it is clean and the food is first rate. The owner made sure my lamb vindaloo was off the scale in terms of heat and the flavor and richness of the gravy was superb.

Google
Best chicken tikka masala in town!! Very consistent too, and great service. One of our favorites for take-out in the neighborhood and in DC overall!

Yelp
I thought this place had the best value Indian food across DC. There were a ton of options to choose from, but I wanted to try something different besides chicken tikka masala. I thought the saag paneer was very filling. I will have to order this dish more :)) The place indoors felt very cozy. The owner was very friendly and the bathroom was clean. I will have to come back whenever I'm in the area!

Yelp
The food was very fresh and flavorful. The samosas were ok but the portions of chicken and rice were big and very good. Friendly service and clean facilities.

Yelp
Masala Street is one of my favorite spots to sit down and slow things down a bit in Georgetown. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is always solid--friendly without being over the top. I usually go for either the butter chicken or the chicken tikka masala, and both are consistently delicious. Rich, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice to hit the soul. The naan? Always fresh. Pair it with the rice and sauce, and you've got a meal that'll have you planning your next visit before you even leave. It's one of those spots that feels like a hidden gem in the middle of the hustle. If you're craving Indian comfort food with good service and a nice sit-down vibe, Masala Street's got you.

Yelp
SOOOOO GOOD !!! This place is easy to miss if you're just walking past but omg this is a must have ! I almost let the looks of this place make me wanna try a "prettier" restaurant but I'm so happy I didn't. I tried the traditional curry which was a 10/10 and the biryani which was also a 10/10!!! Super laid back service and the food... my goodness worth every bite !!! Me and my partner shared and we have a solid 2 portions left of food for tomorrow.

Yelp
Great awesome Indian Street food when you're passing through the Georgetown area. Really hits the spot when you're walking by and there's a lot of little shops to choose from but this place is very friendly and there's a lot to choose from if you want something nice, original, and ethnic

Yelp
Masala Street is a pretty decent no-frills take-out style Indian restaurant. There is some limited seating in this small restaurant but it is clean and serves its purpose. The food here decent but the portion sizes are generous (1 curry is enough for 2 people). And the prices are solid especially for being in Georgetown. I started with the samosas, they were crispy but the filling and the chutneys were ok. I tried the butter chicken and the saag (palak) panner along with butter and garlic naan. I enjoyed the butter chicken the most, the chicken was tender, there was a lot of it, and the curry was well balanced, not too sweet, not too sour. The saag paneer was ok, the consistency was different from what I'm used to and I think it could've use more spinach. The naans were ok as well, not bad, but nothing I'd write home about. If you're craving north Indian, this place definitely hits the spot.

Yelp
Ordered take out from this place. Their "spicy" level is mostly spicy. Their kati rolls are a little spicy, and full of flavor. Their lamb dash was delightful. Highly recommend it. They use white meat chicken for those curries, so I'm not a fan... Tier samosa was mildly spicy.. nothing incredible.. The menu is quite limited. So if you like those few things... you're in luck.

Yelp
Fast and flavorful. My first visit. This is a a bare bones restaurant serving on paper plates with to-go containers, no printed menu. Not about the ambience although perfectly warm and clean inside. Ordered Lamb Vindaloo and it was delicious, cooked quickly and with whole spices. Hot level was pleasantly medium in my book. Great lunch spot near campus. Absolutely will return!

Yelp
This was a slay and they had some wonderful Tuesday night deals. A bit spicy for my boyfriend's mild taste but great for mine. Butter chicken was superb

Cole M.

Yelp
Great find! Service is friendly and fast. Make sure to try the tikka masala and they have a special on it on Tuesday's. Cool hole in the wall feel.

Jenny A.

Yelp
Food was mediocre and the price was too high for food that's given out in styrofoam to-go containers. Much better options for the price point else where

Yelp
This place is ridiculously good! Deeply authentic Indian food and nice owners. Plus it's Halal! When I first entered Maslala Street, I was taken a bit aback because it was literally erected in the corpse of Pica Taco. They didn't change a thing. If you walked in, you would still think it was a Mexican Restaurant. But does that not make it more authenticly Indian? I've tried a lot since opening here. I recommend it all. Goat Biryani was 10/10. It is exactly what I am looking for in a biryani. Spicy with a hint of tartness from lemons and spices, flavorful & juicy. Chicken 65 was just amazing. And so are their Chicken Wings? And their Butter Chicken is the second best I've had. Just how I like it. Not too thick, not radioactively orange, not too much heavy cream, very smooth, and the chicken was cooked seperately before being put in the curry! A halmark of a great Butter Chicken! For vegetarian options, I love their Samosa Chaat. It's delicious, spicy, sweet, and sour! I can't praise this place enough. It's quaint but the food is amazing. I am shocked that such a good Indian place has finally opened in DC! It's 100x better than Rasika or other high end places around. The ~only~ downside is that you have to barter to get something to eat. As in, they don't have about half of their extensive menu at any given time. Plus sometimes the wait for food can take a while but that's just because they make everything fresh. But that just makes it more authentically desi tbh. I hope this place sticks around far longer than the Pica Taco before it.

Yelp
This is THE place for biriyani or samosas. I've tried almost every Indian spot around DC and Arlington, and this delicious hole in the wall sits high on my list for takeout. The butter chicken could use less tomato paste, and the naan could be a bit crispier, but that's me being picky. Every time my partner and I have tried to do takeout from Masala Street on a weekend night, they've had to turn us away because they had too many orders. We were successful on a Wednesday night, however, and we look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Amazing Indian food in Georgetown! I ordered to go and it was ready in under 15 minutes. Highly recommend.

Ayush S.

Yelp
Ordered this take-out lamb biryani 30 min before closing. Tastes amazing despite being so close to closing. They didn't skimp on the portions either! I ordered medium spicy which I think is the perfect balance. Will definitely be coming back to try more items.

Yelp
Pros: affordable, quick, in a neat part of Georgetown, friendly staff. Medium spice was probably more than medium but I enjoyed it. The garlic naan was the star of the show! Best I've ever had. Cons: Chicken Tikka Masala was super acidic and not as creamy as I like. There were bell peppers and red onions in it also which threw me off. White rice instead of basmati served with it. I'd probably give it another try with a different dish if I'm back in DC.

Yelp
Medium is hot so adjust accordingly. Absolutely the best Indian $ 14- 16 meal. Unlike others, their curries and saag are not at all oily. Items are made fresh to order. Tue-Thu specials make this a great deal in GT.

Olivia M.

Yelp
Georgetown hidden gem for Indian cuisine! I am a frequent buyer of Indian food as a college student because I can stretch the portion through the whole week. The chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, garlic naan, and tamarind chutney were absolutely delicious. Mohammad was very kind!

Yelp
A friend and I were in DC for a quick trip and wanted Indian food and found Masala Street Eatery, and we were so happy with our experience! We ordered very late because of our schedule but they were very understanding and so friendly when we arrived to pick up the food. We had chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo - both dishes were very flavorful and the meat was tender, there was plenty for both of us to enjoy! If I lived nearby I would frequent here often especially given how kind the service was. This place is a gem!

Yelp
The Kadai chicken (I ordered it spicy) was a melody of flavors with it's fresh ground spices and chicken cooked to a tender perfection. Absolutely delicious.

Logan F.

Yelp
My Indian friends all rave about this spot, so I decided to try it. Everything was so fresh and insanely good, now I crave it super often and it's where I take my friends who come from out of town and they rave about it too. The workers are always so nice and I love to come in! My favorite dish is the butter chicken but after reading these reviews I want to try the biryani now. I literally don't know how anyone can rate this place one star lol and I'm pretty sure Indian food being "tasteless" is scientifically impossible. Masala Street is a GEM, you definitely won't regret eating here one bit.

Billy B.

Yelp
Just grabbed some chicken curry. Delicious, affordable and great service. It truly tasted tasted great and hit the spot!

Yelp
They provided food at a concert we went to. Terrible arrangements, bad service, bad quality food, tasteless, overpriced and small amounts. Amazing that they call themselves "masala" anything because they have absolutely no Masala in their food. Embarrassing to call them Indian food.

Grace G.

Yelp
Great food, big portions. Not much ambiance and a little pricey but would definitely recommend.

Dhruti P.

Yelp
According to the amount of staff, which was only two male workers, the food was extremely tasty and delicious!

Nate O.

Yelp
Masala street is the best Indian food you can get in the DMV. Rasika has nothing on this place. I drive thirty minutes to get this food! Always worth it!

Clay V.

Yelp
Masala Street is fantastic. Everything I've had from there is bursting with flavor, and it comes in a sizeable portion as well especially given the reasonable price. To note, consistency is not their strength: they always run out of things on the menu and the same dish isn't always made exactly the same way twice, which would normally frustrate me but no matter what I end up with it's always so good I have no reason to complain. I would especially recommend the biryani and the Chicken 65. Service is friendly.

Charles M.

Yelp
Food is great, best saag paneer I've ever had. Customer service is great. You can smell the aroma of the food from the other side of the street.

Fried R.

Yelp
Great food! Really recommend the lamb biryani! It's a Georgetown late night classic. And halal!

James W.

Yelp
Food took over an hour for two. Obnoxious music and overall unappealing atmosphere. When I asked about the wait time for the food, I was told it would be out in 10 minutes. I waited at least another hour.

Parker S.

Yelp
BEST INDIAN FOOD IN D.C.! Incredible Butter Chicken and delicious Samosas. Its my go to spot! 10/10
