Drink Your Way Down the River at These 3 D.C. Area Tubing Locations | Eater DC

"For a breakfast sandwich before a river day, I recommend Mason-Dixon Cafe on Princess Anne Street in Fredericksburg; they serve all-day omelets and eggy handhelds alongside home fries or cheesy grits." - Missy Frederick

One of the best places to eat, seriously! The food was so good! Burgers were cooked perfectly, my daughter got the breakfast club sandwich and said it was one of the best things she’s ever eaten. The maple bacon syrup is AMAZING, I had it on my chicken and waffles and have a hard time going back to regular syrup. I love that they serve breakfast all day. Our server Laney was amazing and pretty cool she could connect with us because my daughter’s name is also Lainey! I’m glad we stopped on our way north, I would definitely visit again!

Great place to get a Philly cheesesteak. I got the “Yankee transplant” and the cheese was deliciously melted into the huge amount of meat. Get it with peppers and grilled onions and it’s fabulous. Service was friendly and prompt. Great place!

One of our favorite spots to visit when we’re in town. The food is ALWAYS amazing and the staff is so pleasant, helpful, and attentive. If you’re in search of a tasty hearty breakfast/brunch, this is definitely the spot for you!

Update: I drove 40 minutes for the Naughty Pork Chop, which was listed under Entrees. It was a sandwich! I was so disappointed when it came to the table. I don’t eat sandwiches. Also, the pork chop was boneless, which I would have assumed if it was properly listed under sandwiches. I don’t like boneless pork unless I’m eating schnitzel. Also, the egg was not runny. Although the server said they have told the owner on more than one occasion that this should be listed as a sandwich, I still couldn’t justify removing a star. Overall, it was still pretty good. I still recommend. Come hungry! This was my first time here. The size of the meals that passed by me were huge! The pancakes are the size of a full dinner plate. I had chicken and waffles. The chicken was so crispy and good, though I had to sprinkle salt. They can customize your waffle to blueberry or chocolate chip. I had blueberry. They were good but could have been crispier. Overall, a very good experience. I will return….soon.

A hidden gem! If you have dietary restrictions let them know anf they will do everything possible to make the dish you want fit your needs. I had the chicken and waffles (gluten free) and wanted to hug the cook it was so good!

This was the most awful breakfast I've had in years. The toast wasn't hot, the gravy for the biscuit tasted like it was made with old milk. The meatloaf tasted like it was meet paste full of fillers, the coffee was bitter. The sausage Patty was not a patty like you think, it looked like a quarter inch thick round cookie. It tasted like sausage but it didn't look like a sausage patty. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The mgr SHOULD have taken my meal off the tab. He removed $6. And, instead of listening, he was defending his meatloaf. Save your money and go somewhere else that has real food.

Great little diner with amazing foods and lots of varieties. They even serve alcohol. If I'm correct I believe the owners are from the north east, around Jersey or NY. Not sure. All I know is the food was delicious, the workers were amazing and friendly. They have a single person bathroom and written on the door was the 1st time seeing this and absolutely loved it. "Whatever, just wash your hands "

This is a place that most locals know about and eat in! I had the chicken biscuit and sausage gravy, the sausage gravy had sage and other herbs in it. So if you're expecting traditional sausage gravy you're not going to get it there. Just know that go in knowing that and that way you're not disappointed. Will definitely visit again
