MAST Weinbistro

We decided to have a nice birthday dinner, choosing the chef choice of 6 dishes and the wine pairing. All dishes were delicious, but more importantly the wine pairing was exactly right. Our top dishes were definitely beetroot tartar, salmon and smoked fish empanadas. The service was very kind and they even brought a candle in our desserts. Their knowledge of wines is exceptional. All the other guests seemed to also enjoy their time. We left stuffed and happy. Thank you for the evening!

My wife and I had a tremendous meal at the charming MAST Weinbistro in October. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and enjoyed excellent, friendly and professional service throughout our dinner. We started with exceptional sourdough with raw milk butter and cheese sausage “bar snack.” We had delicious appetizers of chick peas and fennel and pumpkin and feta. The dessert of apple sorbet and dark chocolate was amazing, too. The quality of the ingredients and the skilled preparation were evident in each dish. As one would expect, the wine offerings were splendid as well. We would happily return to the MAST Weinbistro on our next trip to Vienna.

Beautiful restaurant I have been wanting to visit for a long time but never book far enough ahead. Ordered a la carte since we are vegetarian/gluten-free between us which is difficult for set-menus. 1 dish from each section was enough to fill us up. The bread and butter was awesome (also a gluten-free bread), beetroot dish, and especially the pulled pork / Wildschwein was delicious and paired perfectly with the recommended wines by Bettina(?). Service was amazing and very accomodating. Looking forward to returning when the menu is changed up again, which as I heard, is not so long between changes!

Highly refined, excellent natural wine restaurant with a focus on local ingredients. Friendly, informative staf, and a lovely atmosphere. More than worth your bother for a highlight evening out in Vienna. Im only giving it 4/5 for the food because two of our courses from the chefs menu needed a little more care and refinement with the vegetable cooking, but I only do it as encouragement for an obviously ambitious and talented kitchen, not because it was "bad" in any way. Go!

MAST was phenomenal. It gave me hope in Austrian dining. The chef’s choice tasting menu was creative and balanced, and the pairings were spot on. Service was warm and knowledgeable, and the whole evening felt effortless. Highly recommend. Great value for experience.

The food was great and reasonably priced, the chili cheese sausages were a highlight for sure. Aperitif Swiss cider was great too as well as non alcoholic Danish rhubarb raspberry tea. Just one menu position was a bit misleading - the bone marrow entry - there is very little bone marrow and it’s not presented the expected way (not on the bone, just as a barely noticeable topping on the vegetables), so worth asking how does the dish look like in advance! Great service, extremely careful and knowledgeable staff

Everything was exceptional. The food was utterly delicious and the wine was equally as good.The wine list by the glass was awesome! The chef catered for our various intolerances with such ease. Couldn’t fault anything.l and would come back every night if we could.

The best restaurant we've been to in Vienna! It's more than a restaurant wine bar, it's a wonderful experience that we will cherish. The staff was excellent and the food was extremely delicious. We had the tasting menu- each dish was an explosion of harmonious flavors on our taste buds. Bliss. The sommelier also helped us pick out a wine that matched our taste. A truly wonderful and unforgettable experience.

Easily one of the best meals I had in 2023. MAST was a favorite for my friend and me when we were in Austria. It was a green star and recommendation by Michelin and is one of the places in the city that is so underrated. The gist: 1. Excellent food with farm to table and local ingredients. The presentation borders on art and there is the flavor to back it up. 2. Organic wine selection that is arguably the best in the city. 3. Beautifully decorated but smaller interior. 4. Good service but plan to follow European timing with your meal service. 5. Make a reservation.

I ate here one month ago and I still can't stop thinking about it. The sausages were perfectly fatty, not at all spicy despite their name. I don't remember all the food, but I do remember how good the service was. We were a party of three and they modified their portion sizes to include a third taco for example. We had a delicious white wine that was kept chilled throughout our meal. The waiter recommended a great wine. I always appreciate when a waiter can gauge how much you're willing to spend on a bottle and make a rec in that range without making you feel bad.

I saw two of the people in the photo from the website serve everyone well, including me. A nice French server served me half the time. Unfortunately, an Austrian woman in her twenties served me the rest of the time and made me feel so unwelcome I regretted coming. She knew about wine, served some dishes, and was so directly and unrelentingly cold-hearted and curt that I refrained from asking her questions or interacting with her beyond the bare minimum. I chatted with the nice people there (including other patrons, who were normal), and left. Unfair it would be if this one unpleasant person spoils the atmosphere here that so many normal people (the vast majority) maintain. The fact that this unkind Austrian woman served me half of the time was certainly enough to make me regret my visit. I received a defensive email from staff in retaliation to this review, grabbing at hypothetical straws in an attempt to defend this young woman's behavior. I don't envy the position of a restaurant owner or manager. It takes a lot to put on a quality experience, and it is simply a shame when one person's behavior ruins the hard work of others.

Absolutely great wines. Staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. Interesting food. Only downside was the dessert. Not our favorite, but "interesting".
