In Kyoto, traditional heritage is inspiring modern design - SilverKris

"A quiet café that overlooks a serene back garden behind an apparel store, noted as a small design-minded spot where industrial designer Sosuke Nakabo has contributed elements such as cups and coffee drippers; the intimate, contemplative setting reflects and serves as a gathering point for Kyoto's creative and design community." - Danielle Demetriou

a nice quiet coffee spot where they serve not just coffee but also food. light eats so you can take a break from all the shopping and walking. this little coffee shop is tucked in behind a store that sells backpacks and apparel. When you enter the shop, you are asked to take off your shoes and the staff will walk you to your table. it is set up to look like a traditional yet modern look with the tatami floor and a picturesque view of their japanese garden - very zen feel. There is a 2 hour limit of hanging out in the area which is plenty of time to get a good rest for your legs and recharge to go back out again. we ordered an egg sando which was absolutely aesthetic but also very tasty -- just look at the yolks! perfect! for coffee we ordered a chestnut latte which was pretty good. smooth coffee and you can taste a little bit of chestnut from the cream. the purple sprinkle one (shown in picture) is a sweet yam latte -- this was different. such strong yam flavor in the coffee it was a delight. i enjoyed every sip of this latte.

Stunning little cafe at back of shop. Beautiful peaceful Japanese garden. Tranquil oasis. Coffee was up to Australian standard. Slightly nutty bean subtle and honeyed notes.

Espresso is nutty, sweet and extremely smooth 100% recommend. Sandwiches were sold out but the warm chocolate cake was equally delicious. Apple tea soda was on point, not too sweet.

Everything is perfect except for BLOODY LOUD ROCK music???? I don’t understand how that goes with the vibes. I feel like it’s a strategy to keep customers from staying too long. We lingered with AirPods on

Nice coffee spot with view of a beautiful little garden. It’s on a street with chic boutiques.

Stopped by for a quick coffee on a cold evening. We were their last guests before they close so it was super peaceful to have a hot chocolate and latte before we had back to the hotel for the night. Love the drinks! Best hot chocolate I have had in a while (not sweet and only creamy). The staff was lovely. Highly recommend

Master-piece famous for its quality bags. Amazed by this master-piece coffee at Kyoto shop. Enjoyed my brunch with Japanese Garden view in a Friday afternoon, when it is not crowded.

Super nice small and calm coffee. Not so many spaces (I would say around 10) All the seats are around an interior garden which is super relaxing The matcha was well balanced - not too sweet but just enough Service was not the most friendly but it is still a good place to take a coffee hidden away from the busy street of Kyoto 🍵
