The 18 Best Restaurants In Hammersmith - London - The Infatuation

"Every area needs a brightly lit, functional, and extremely tasty restaurant like Master Wei. The Hammersmith branch is on a noisy, inelegant part of Hammersmith Road, just off the hellish roundabout, but acts as a refuge for anyone in need of chewy biang-biang noodles and a cold pint of Asahi. The menu is identical to the original Xi’anese spot in Bloomsbury and while there is a bit of discrepancy here with the odd loose potsticker wrapper, it’s fail-safe for an informal and delicious fix." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

Master Wei Xi’An Hammersmith - Review - Hammersmith - London - The Infatuation

"When a restaurant expands, the follow-up locations can run the risk of falling flat, but there is something deliciously functional about Master Wei’s canteen in Hammersmith. This rectangular box won’t win any awards for design or fussy hospitality, and who cares? All that matters is that the biangbiang noodles remain thick and chewy and that the Asahi on draft keeps on pouring. photo credit: Jake Missing If a Wednesday night is on a strict time limit, or one of your colleagues needs to jump on the tube sharpish, there are few better restaurants. Yes, there’s a steady stream of delivery drivers, and the potstickers are a little roughly formed, but the noodles are inarguably delicious and every sauce here has salt, sourness, chilli heat, and garlic, garlic, garlic. The formula is nigh-on impossible to argue with and, truth to be told, we’d do untold things to have a Master Wei on every main road in London. Food Rundown Fried Pork And Seaweed ‘Pot-sticker’ Dumplings There’s a pleasingly crisp shell on these dumplings but unfortunately they’re a bit haphazardly formed and the filling can easily slip out. It’s well-seasoned, if quite dry, but they still go down a treat dipped in a little vinegar and soy. photo credit: Jake Missing Vegetarian BiangBiang Noodles Meat is great, except these noodles don’t need anything apart from the punchy, umami-heavy chilli sauce they come in. They’re thick and pale like a Brit in Benidorm, so give them a mix until every chewy belt is covered. PlayMute video credit: Jake Missing" - Jake Missing

So nice we've visited twice! Seriously the best noodles you can get. Every single dish we've had over the two visits has been incredible! At this point we're now on a mission to try the whole menu! The pictures don't even give it justice for the flavors and aromas you'll experience here.

Service was good but the food just wasn’t right… the noodles were disgusting, the kung pao chicken was just too sweet and the squid was chewy… rice was good but it was just rice… tables are squished together so its a bit uncomfortable. Very disappointing

Had a quick lunch with a friend today and we were really pleased with the service and noodles. We had Biang Biang beef noodles and hand-pulled noodles with minced pork - delicious and really enjoyed the fast and attentive service. Will definitely come back. Btw, they do NHS discount too. :)

The best Chinese food I’ve had in a while. Had the crispy fried pork and special fried rice, while my friend had classic hand pulled noodles and spring rolls. These were gorgeous, but the surprising star of the show was the smashed spicy cucumber; what a revelation. Spicy, savoury, fresh and crunchy. We could have had another serving! Staff were approachable and efficient. Food was quick. Great meal all around! Will be coming back

Amazing biang biang noodles with plenty of density and bite. The other dishes were a bit of a hit and miss. Friendly, familial and warm service makes up for it.

Google
What a pleasure! Unlike a lot of Chinese (or Xian) food I’ve had this is not overly salted or oily. The flavours are fresh and fairly light. And of course the noodles are excellent and a must try. Make sure you bring enough people to share! Highly recommended!

Fantastic newish place in Hammersmith. A short walk from the train station, which actually improves the ambience. I loved the Biang Binag Vegetarian noodles. I felt they do not need any meat in them. Very tasty, authentic and as far as I could tell no MSG. The original restaurant is in Holborn, but this is a fantastic addition to the Hammersmith food scene. Highly recommended, I will be back soon!

I’ve had consistently great experiences picking up deliveries from Master Wei Xi’An. The team here treats delivery drivers with real respect and professionalism, which immediately sets them apart. They allow drivers to sit while waiting, give clear and accurate waiting times, and always communicate honestly if an order is going to take a little longer. That level of transparency makes a huge difference and shows how well-run and organised this place is. They also allow delivery drivers to use the bathroom, which is something I truly appreciate. These basic but thoughtful considerations make it genuinely pleasant to collect orders from here, even during busy periods. The staff are hard-working, polite, and efficient, and you can tell they care about everyone involved in keeping the business running — not just customers, but drivers too. Because of this, I genuinely enjoy picking up orders from Master Wei Xi’An every time. Another hidden gem in London. Highly recommended, and I wish the team continued success, growth, and recognition in the future.
