First thing, I was here during the afternoon and it was not too busy. So, the service and atmosphere was great. The lunch special is worth looking at. I ordered the 🍔 special and was great. Patties were not overcooked, they were juicy and well seasoned. If you go with the side of 🍟 you won't be disappointed of the amount provided. Another thing to note is they have a great selection of beers and the staff is great at pointing out suggestions based on your liking. Lastly, the parking lot is small so be prepared to park in the street. But I think that is a minor concession for the great food and beer.

I went on a Thursday at 7pm and the place was very full. You order at the counter, or as I learned, if you sit at the bar you can also order there (food and drinks). We ordered the Brussels Sprouts, Caesar Salad, and Vegetarian Pig Out Fries. The portions were acceptable and the food was DELICIOUS. Even the Caesar was better than I expected, as a normal Caesar salad. Also, as a vegetarian, seeing so many options was really nice! The service was quick, knowledgeable, and friendly! The only knock would *maybe* be the parking, but that's not a good reason to dock any stars! Update: Went back tonight for Tuesday $5 pint night and tried the KAC Salad and Hot Hawaiian pizza (we subbed jalapeños for the ham). Both were seriously delicious. Pint night with the Padres game on made it even better! If you're looking for a more filling salad, go with the KAC over Caesar!

When you're in San Diego, California you got to check this place out. It's kind of low-key but upbeat. Delicious burger, unique Pizza and unique fries. All delicious and good serviced 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽❤️❤️❤️🤤💯

Google
The food was great, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was quick! We got 2 double smash burgers, one with Brussel sprouts and the other with mastiff fries. The burger was great! Very flavorful and not too greasy. The fries were amazing, and had this unique sauce on them, which set them apart from other fries. The brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy and had an amazing maple drizzle with big pieces of parmesan. I preferred the fries but would definitely order both again.

Came here for a quick bit on a Saturday afternoon and it was great. The service is good, prices are fair and the food was pretty good. You really have no reason to go to a nasty chain place if you ask me. I was not a huge fan of the chokin chicken pizza but (the deep dish crust was good) but everything else was awesome. Wings were crispy and good, smashed burgers really good and big. They give you this pickled sides and those are great. Come grab a beer and enjoy the good food

Google
Was looking for good pizza while in the neighborhood and found this gem after seeing the ratings. I love Detroit style pizza and a good beer which they have plenty of. Most definitely coming back!!!

Google
I was in the area with my family, and we decided on this spot randomly, so we weren't expecting much, but the food here is amazing. The double smash burger I ordered was delicious, and my vegetarian brother also loved his veggie burger. The brussel sprouts had a nice maple flavor, and we all enjoyed the veggie pig out fries. The way the fries are cut so that they can hold the sauce well and while still being crispy was incredible. The only complaint we had was that there was too much mustard on my mom's veggie bratwurst sandwich. She would've preferred the mustard on the side, but it was still delicious.

Google
This was our first visit to Mastiff Kitchen. Thankfully, they weren’t extremely busy on Labor Day holiday for dinner. We dined with a party of four and looked forward to our meal since reading the favorable reviews since opening their La Mesa location. We ordered the following items: double smash burger with shoestring fries, pork nugs, & pig fries. We also had a glass each of their Sauvignon Blanc & Cabernet Sauvignon wines which were happy hour priced all night. All food dishes were served promptly, hot, well portioned, and tasty. The restaurant’s atmosphere is pretty casual, sound isn’t too loud or busy, service was good. We wanted to try their pizza as well but didn’t have the appetite to try it this time, but it’s on our short bucket list to try the next time we return.

Yelp
After a year and a half of looking, I've finally found a good Detroit style in the area I'm unhappy with 23 of their competitors This pizza was genuinely fantastic

Yelp
First time in Mastiff for a late lunch. Quaint spot. Lots of beer on tap...30+ actually! Not too many people fit there so if going at high times I would imagine, you would expect a wait time unless you sit at the bar and order food. Food was pretty tasty! Totally a 5+! Got the sliders and they were very good as were the shoestring fries. All the food people got around us looked and smelled delicious too! I do have to give it a 2-3 on service. Not very friendly and we literally heard our server/bartender say 3 things. This was not only us, but to anyone being served at the bar. Totally understand when people get slammed, but that is when a good attitude, smiles, and some sort of conversation help.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here during their happy hour and they offer some pretty good deals. Got their mastiff fries, Brussels sprouts, and smash burger slider. Each of these were $5. They also offer $5 off all their whole pizzas. Took advantage of this and ordered their That's My Boy pizza. Suuuuuper good. Comes with pepperoni, ricotta cheese, jalapeño, honey, and red sauce. The balance of spiciness and sweetness is perfect. I noticed they had a bunch of beers on draft so it would be a great place to chill and have some drinks, too.

Yelp
My gf and I decided to go out for dinner and we enjoyed going here the first time so we didn't hesitate to go back. We sat at the bar and grabbed some beers. I ordered the meet meat pizza and some wings while my gf had the sliders. I underestimated the size of the pizza and only ate half. The pizza crust was a little burnt, but not too bad. The wings were amazing. As for the sliders. I really wish that I would have other those instead. Can't go wrong with the food, but the pizza is deep dish vice regular crust.

Yelp
Delicious pizza conveniently located in La Mesa. I've only ever ordered takeout, but the ambience inside the place looks chill and laid back, a place to hangout with friends to enjoy a beer and some bites. First of all, the crust on these pan pizzas are sooooo delicious, it's a crispy cheese crust. I've tried other pan pizzas/Detroit style pizzas in SD but have found the cheese crust flavor in other places to be way too overpowering. Not at Mastiff though, flavor is just right. I have tried their Choke n Chiken and That's My Boy - both highly savory and delicious pan pizzas. They're soooo good, I wish the pizzas were bigger!! That being said though, 2 slices fill me up plenty, and for my husband he can do 2.5-3 slices in one sitting (but 3 is pushing it). I really enjoy that when you go pick them up, they take some extra steps to pack your order to make sure it's as enjoyable as possible. I've noticed that the team will spread some hot/fresh tomato sauce on top of the pizza and grate fresh (Parmesan?) cheese on top. It's such a nice touch!! The box the pizzas come in are very sturdy, which is important since these pizzas are pretty thick. I also appreciate that Mastiff has a parking lot, makes picking up much easier. This will easily become my go to for pan pizza.

Yelp
Just moved to La Mesa and this was one of the first places my boyfriend and I went to the first week. They have specials throughout the week. We went on a Sunday. Sunday deal is currently "Smash and Glass" a pint for $15. Good place for Padre fans to watch games. Service was quick. Good vibes
google avatar

Claudia S.

Yelp
Good selection of beers so far everything we've eaten had been yummy. Sliders, pizza, Ceasar. Not a huge fan of the messy fries but that's just me. Be aware the pizza is VERY thick it was good but I would only want one slice. My only complaint is they're always busy and crowded in the evenings! I did go for a lunch special which was delicious and got quick service and they had plenty of space

Yelp
This is an excellent place to stop. Decided to go on whim and it turned out to be great. Service was good, food was good. I would say we only didn't enjoy the pork belly, little too much sauce. All in all the kids got to enjoy the old school arcade games and we enjoyed atmosphere.

Yelp
Where to begin everything about this place is absolutely AMAZING. The food- Hands down THE BEST Brussels I've had in a while. All of the items we ordered were delicious and man did we order a lot during their happy hour. The pizza is delicious, my friend even had an off request (she's from Jersey) and asked for garlic powder. Chris made it happen. Drinks- I got a cider and the hibiscus sangria PHENOMENAL there is so much beer on tap! Service- Chris had the BEST customer service super friendly, attentive, informative, and overall just patient. He let us sample some brews checked on us regularly. Happy Hour prices were amazing from 3-6 and there is plenty of parking. The ambiance was vibrant great music very highly recommend. Even if you're not in the area this is worth the drive from anywhere is San Diego!

Yelp
Went to Mastiff Kitchen for my friend's bday. Mastiff Kitchen is a small, cozy spot in La Mesa. Our server was super friendly and chatted us up about his fav pizzas at Mastiff. 1 ordered the Brussels sprouts, pig nugs, double smash burger w mastiff fries The Pig nugs are super delicious w a spicy sauce. The double smash burger was super yummy. A very well cooked typical smash burger but so tasty here. Def going to hit Mastiff up again. Parking lot needs its spots repainted cause it's a little bit confusing at night.

Yelp
Came here during happy hour with a group of friends, loved all our food! Came all the way from LA looking for a bite! The food was so fresh and good! Very tasteful! Happy hour was great! They had a fully stocked bar too!! The service was great, the waiters there are so friendly. Definitely cooking back! Small little corner resto/bar but definitely a great place for a quick bite!

Yelp
Overall had a great experience at this place and it was definitely worth the visit. It's in a distant place away from traffic so it has limited seating but plenty of seating for the location. The environment of the location is amazing and a nice kick back vibe. Me and my wife sat at the bar and we had a very polite and attentive waitress. They have a huge beer selection but didn't have any beer. We had several items. 4/5 Pig Fries - Had plenty of flavor, the meet was nice and tender, all the sauces were delicious. A little on the salty side but adding ranch helped very much! 4.5/5 Chicken bacon ranch - Never had such tender chicken and everything fit so well. Can't complain. 3/5 Double cheeseburger- I honestly did enjoy the burger but had too many burnt edges but other than that, great burger. Pricing is beyond reasonable! I will definitely return!

Yelp
Located in La Mesa, parking lot is not very big neither is venue. Parking can be a pain but, street parking is available in the neighborhood. Our waiter was amazing, food was just ok except for the brussels sprouts...they were AMAZING! We ordered everything off of the HH menu minus the A La Carte Sausage. Wings in all flavors - just ok Smash burger slider - too salty Mastiff fries - just ok Rustic tomato salad - good Crispy brussels sprouts - AMAZING, ORDER 2! Burrata Margarita pizza - not a fan That's my boy pizza - very interesting with honey...good because it was very different. Peanut butter cookie - on the drier side

Yelp
This is not a dog friendly place! You have to sit outside and there's no covering. I came in after I picked up my kid from school, and she wants some snacks. We had our dog because we assumed with the name, it was a dog friendly place. It's not. They told us to sit outside, and we did. It was hot and there's so many flies. That it wasn't really a good experience. But our food and waiter is amazing!! I got the Julian apple cider, which is amazing!! The brussel sprouts are delicious and my fave. My daughter loves the slider! Chicken wings were bursting with flavor. The pizza with burrata cheese is delightful. All in all, food and service are amazing.

Yelp
I stopped by here for dinner for the first time recently and I was really surprised by how good their pizza was. We got their special pie with meatballs and vodka sauce; the meatballs had a great texture and the sauce was flavorful without being over powering. We also got an order of the Mastiff Fries and I like how the potatoes were cut in a more rustic style and they were cooked just right and the dressing they used was great. The place isn't that big and the parking lot was a bit annoying to navigate through but the staff was friendly and they have a nice happy hour so I will definitely be back again.
google avatar

Annie B.

Yelp
staff was friendly and welcoming! you seat yourself and then order at the front. food comes out to you. my friend and I got the double smash burger and mastiff fries! the fries WERE SO BOMB!!! I love the sauce and cotija cheese they put on top! the burger was okay but still good, bun was super wet and thin at the bottom so it wasn't as enjoyable. wished there was a wider selection to their burger menu. staff brought a bottle of water and cups to us. place was a little too quiet for my liking. would definitely come back! only reason I only gave 4 stars is bc of the burger

Yelp
An absolutely wonderful addition to La Mesa! Was hungry after attending a nearby event at a brewery. Was looking for interesting food options open late. Mastiff stood out with its excellent reviews and hearty food pics. We really enjoyed our experience here. You can't miss its sign from the main road. Bright and clear. There were multiple spaces open in the parking lot. The restaurant was spacious and inviting, with a large bar and multiple high top tables. You order at the counter. The employee Cassie was super helpful. We opted for a variety of their best sellers: smashburger Sliders, pizza, and the sausage platter. All oh so delicious. The flavors and presentation were outstanding. Portion sizes were generous. I thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers as well. Excited to return!

Yelp
Healthily busy on a Friday... actually a little afraid to post this review due to limited seating, but the food and service were soooooooo good. They hype on the wings is real and we'll deserved. Delicious and crispy, I typically order them naked with sauce on the side, these were delicious on their own, and the sauces have me rethinking my wing strategy as their flavors blew my mind. That hot honey butter and the gochuchang sauce have me thinking about them days later. Their pizza was so good that we took slices home to my in laws, and now they keep asking us where exactly we got it. Ben loved the pork ends, I think I should have had them with beer instead of sangria. The beer selection was impressive, going to start adventuring there next visit for sure. On top of it all was some stellar service by all staff we encountered. Keith made us feel like first time regulars. Can't wait to go back, even for just a take out order.

Yelp
It was great new when I learned that Mastiff Kitchen was coming to East County, San Diego: La Mesa in fact. They have a great happy hour were many items are $5 each. For example, the Rustic Tomato Salad and the Crispy Wings I enjoyed with the spicy honey coating. I also had a slice of the sausage & peppers Detroit style pizza for $5 as well. If you get whole, it's $5 off the pie during the hours of happy hour from the 3 pm to 6 pm. The wings were terrific! They were indeed crispy and meaty as well, but what really stood out, was the tasty hot honey garlic. The dressing was marvelous. They were not overly spicy but just right. They were great wings. The only bummer is that your $5 only gets you three wings. Four would be just right. The Rustic Tomato salad was delicious. The fresh herb and balsamic dressing was quite good, and I loved the heavy amount of freshly grated parmesan cheese on top. I did however feel that the tomatoes needed to be halved one more time for ease of eating. I know the salad is "rustic" but the tomato slices were just to big, in my opinion. The Detriot style pizza was very good. It was thick and fluffy, but what I really liked was the cheese crust that ringed the perimeter of the pizza. That not only brought on some great flavor, but texture as well. I loved the house made sausage. It was very flavorful. The pizza was a winner. The place is very casual. You order at the counter and pay, then they bring your items to you. Service at the counter was very good and so was everything else. Parking can be difficult during peek hours.

Yelp
Great food, good ambiance, ok prices. I think this business will stick since this is the 3rd or 4th business in this spot in La Mesa. I know it's not the only Mastiff. Stop it. But it's a great spot. Visit. Have lunch or dinner.

Yelp
I have been a fan of Mastiff Kitchen since I've tried them many times at North Park Beer Company so I was super excited when they opened super close to my house! Everyone was very welcoming and the staff were great. They have 30 beers and ciders on tap and the staff was helpful at recommending certain ones. We came on a Friday night around 7:30 and it was actually a lot busy than I thought it was going to be but that's a great sign. As for the food, they ar known for their sausages so I always recommend getting their sausage. I also love the pork nugs! So crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked. I have not tried their pizza yet but will next time. Overalll, great service and great food with 30 beers on tap!
google avatar

Yelp
Decided to try out the new neighborhood spot. We came around 5ish for the happy hour menu. The parking lot is relatively small, so I can imagine the parking being dicey during busy times. We ordered the pig nugs, sliders, chicken wings and pizza and beer. All the food was really good. The pig nugs have a great balance of mouth melting crunchiness and flavor. You have a choice of flavor for the chicken wings and we decided on the Hot Honey Garlic. Each order comes with three wings, so definitely take advantage of the happy for multiple orders. The wings were also good and I was pleased with the honey garlic option. The sliders were also delicious. They are thin patties with grilled onions. Reminded me of White Castle burgers on the east coast. Finally was the pan pizza. Really good pizza with a great crust and generous toppings. All the food and a couple of beers came to around $50 with tip. Not bad. The staff was extremely nice and gave off a nice vibe. The bar was full with a few regulars that were engaged in conversation with the bar tender. A nice addition to the neighborhood and we will be returning often, during happy hour!

Yelp
Today is there opening day! Several people here and everyone's happy! We finally have a new restaurant replacing the old! The employees are friendly, and welcoming. Despite being so busy everyone is on point with their customer service. The inside was nicely remodeled and is really cute vibe. Happy hour is 3-6pm, so far on drafts! They are getting things together and I can see this place really being a hit! All of our food was delicious! Can't wait to come back to try more. Happy for the new owners! Come check it out!
google avatar

Hannah P.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and was not disappointed. Awesome deals! We got one of everything on the happy hour menu. Small plates but just enough for the two of us. My favorite were the Brussels sprouts and smash burgers. But everything was really good! Also, draft beers are $2 off. I will definitely be back! Can't wait to try their brunch as well. Great addition to La Mesa.

Yelp
A venerable sausage party in the best sense of the word. Mastiff Kitchen specializes in sausages, pizza, and beer. Stopped by to watch an NFL game with a friend, so grabbed the Pig Fries and a drink. Service was very friendly and efficient. Struck up a conversation with some staff, and felt very well attended to. The vibe of the spot was chill, but at a good volume for a Saturday night neighborhood spot. Mixture of families with their kids and groups having a casual get together. As for the Pig Fries themselves, I liked that they used homestyle potatoes. The Italian sausage was good, but the shredded pork was a bit dry. The plate overall was on the salty side, but I suppose that's intended for what is essentially elevated pub food. Would gladly return to catch a game and try the pizza. And a full sausage! SO MUCH SAUSAGE.

Emani B.

Yelp
The wings are so crispy and perfectly coated in sauce. The Brussel sprouts were the perfect amount of roasted without being burnt! I would definitely come back here

Yelp
Small tap room in La Mesa that carries a bunch of beers to have with your pizza or burgers. Tried the meat lovers pizza with some wings and fries. The pizza had a nice crunch on the outside but the middle part was a little undercooked. I think the bacon in it was undercooked too which caused us to have a stomachache at the end of the day. Fries were delicious and so was the wings. Super crispy and flavorful: A little sweet but a little tangy. Definitely a lot of carbs today but so worth it. Fries were really good too and I'm very glad we had them fresh because they were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside but had the soft potato meat in the middle. The aioli was so yummy and I loved the freshness of the cilantro on top. Would come here again but next time I want to try the burger.
google avatar

Dana R.

Yelp
The service wasn't great and the selection was boring. We could see into the kitchen from our table so we could see how the pizza was assembled. Our pizza was cold. I would assume that pan style pizza would be super hot but they pour what looked like room temperature red sauce on top of it before it is served. We needed to use a knife and fork which was fine, but we left almost half of it there. The staff/vibe was odd. I can't put my finger on it. It might've been because they were just opening, but it was chaotic. Beer options were good for those that drink. If you're getting a soda you fill it yourself. Just odd.

Yelp
One of my favorite stops in San Diego! The front does not do the interior justice. Immediately upon entering we felt welcome and comfortable. The guys behind the bar were exactly what you want when you sit on the stool. Knowledgeable, personable and experts on their beers. The happy hour is like years ago where you could eat and drink without breaking your budget. We tried everything on the happy hour menu and had zero disappointments. The rustic tomato salad was my favorite. Such great variety of flavors and textures. We did the house made bratwurst for our A La Carte sausage. It was amazing with the fresh made sauerkraut. Salty not pickled and perfect. This will be a must visit every trip. Take home a t-shirt for memories. They are classic.

Yelp
Best chicken wings and salad i've had in a while. This is a wonderful spot for yummy comfort food that just opened up in La Mesa. No outdoor tables but a good number of tables and friendly service inside. If you want comfort food in la mesa this is the spot.

Yelp
We got takeout through doordash and it was so good!! We liked them when they were at liberty station and so to have them now in La Mesa is awesome. We were craving burgers so we got the double cheeseburgers but also a slice of cheese pizza for our kid and the pig fries and Brussels sprouts. The burger was the best I've had since we finally tried Crack Burger, which is out of our range distance wise to go to easily. The bun they used was nice and substantive, the burger was juicy and flavorful, and the garlic aioli really put it over the top. The fries are delicious as always though the pork rind bits did not do well as takeout (they got really hard and tough). I was surprised by how tasty the sprouts were. They were very buttery and maple-y and though not as crisp as some places, the flavor kept me coming back for more. While I did not get to try the pizza, both my husband and I were very interested after seeing it. The caramelized cheesy part around the crust looks insane and the crust itself smelled so deliciously yeasty and looked so pillowy and tender...I can't wait to go back and get the pizza next.
google avatar

Yelp
Happy Hour=perfection! Absolutely great happy hour pricing on both food and drinks. Large number of beers, seltzers and other drinks on tap. They have some delicious brussel sprouts and crisp wings smothered in sauce. Pizza looked amazing but unfortunately was not as good as it looked. I think it may just not have been my style but definitely has an audience somewhere. Service was friendly and super attentive!

Yelp
This place is a gem, nestled in la mesa off spring st. The beer selection is large, the food is delicious, and the staff was awesome! This will be going into the regular rotation for dinner!

Yelp
My husband just picked up a take out order here today, and front cashier had horrible customer service skills. She acknowledged him but proceeded to help the other 3 people that came in after him. My husband had to get the attention of one of the cooks at the back to get any kind of assistance. He got told that the lady at the front will help him. So he went back to the front and had to let the worker know what was going on. She apologized saying that she was going over to grab his food, but he had to call her out on her lying. She did not even ask if he needed help or what his name was for the order, so how was she grabbing his to go order? The food was delicious, I loved the burrata margarita pizza and my husband liked his smash burger. but if that's the kind of customer service we have to deal with each time we go, the we can do without it. First and last time we are trying this place. But if you don't mind it, give it a try because the food was yummy.

Yelp
Great bar or whatever it is? The burger special is a real treat over Johnny B's the staff is much more friendly here and no cranky waitress with a bad attitude. The bartender is very knowledgeable of the various beers and makes great suggestions! It's a real treat wish they had lower seats for my 90yo neighbor the booth is always reserved for a party. Where do you seat your guest with special needs?

Yelp
This was my first time at the restaurant, the ambiance was nice, and the gentleman at the desk was very kind. I ordered the Kale salad, and brussels sprouts. It was so delicious, I totally recommend the food here.

Yelp
Service through the roof across the board. The whole staff from hostess to everyone in between was phenomenal. Food was amazing and the made us feel So welcome with the ambiance by changing the tvs immediately to the padres game and San Diego state game. We can't wait to go back. Good job.

Yelp
Had a lunch special with a smashburger, fries and soda for $15. Good/filling food at a good price, and a nice place to just come relax and have a burger, pizza, beer, etc.

Yelp
I love this place. Food is so solid. Typically get That's My Boy or Burrata Pizza and Mastiff Fries. Have also tried the burger and brussels. Really nice beer list and easy place to take the family. Glad this joint is in La Mesa because it is in our regular rotation when eating out.

Yelp
Mastiff is great. They kept the same craft kitchen charm and amped up the happy hour food specials. $5 each. Hits - Smashburger, heirloom tomato salad. The tomatoes are AMAAZING with the lightly grated . Smashburger was spilling over the roll they served it with. Loved the cheese, juicyness and seasoning. Good - Truffle Fries. A lil small. Wouldn't have again- Gochu jan wings, Brussels Wings were good, I ate them all after the initial shock with the korean sauce. I'd get buffalo next time. Brussels were charming, but balsamic reduction is always better than maple syrup for the sweetener. We also ordered the Burrata veggie pizza and that EASILY was the best thing we ate. $15 ($5 off for HH)

Yelp
Love this place! Been here twice now and each experience was great. Some of the food we've ordered the last 2 times were Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Andouille sausage, pork nugz appetizer, smash sliders, and the following pizzas: That's My Boy, Sausage & Peppers and Meet Meat. All of them were delicious but we all agree That's My Boy pizza was the best! This restaurant also has 30+ beers on tap and served pleasantly colder than other bars/restaurants we've been to. Pairs well with the pizza and sliders. We were seated right when we walked in and given menus to look over but you have to go up front to place your order, which isn't a big deal. Food and drinks were served pretty fast and staff checked in on us several times to check if we needed anything else. There are several TVs to watch the football game. The restaurant wasn't too loud and you can still hold a conversation with the people at your table. The parking situation isn't too bad. There's a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. I only got to take 2 photos because we got too excited and started eating right away. I'd highly recommend this place if you haven't had a chance to try them out.

Yelp
Good Happy Hour Food and Drink Specials!! Food specials for $5. I've enjoyed the Smash Burger but you only get 3 wings Wings for $5. Also on HH are a huge, thick piece of pizza. And a choice of 3 sausages for the same price. Discounts on beer and wine, and wine specials at HH. Family Friendly !

Yelp
What a fantastic addition to the La Mesa neighborhood! The service, food and ambiance are all top notch. Mastiff offers 30 beers and wines on tap, including non-alcoholic options. We ordered pizzas by the slice, a salad and wings. All items were absolutely delicious! My only critique would be to provide a different shape bowl for the side salad as it's difficult to eat in a soup bowl. We will be coming back...a lot!

Yelp
Let's just say I was a little nervous about the taste... and then we pulled a slice and the way the cheese melted... made ME melt. They are very generous with the ingredients and I can't put to words how happy I was after my first bite. I requested jalapeños on half of it and it gave it a good kick. It's perfectly crispy and soft and TASTY. I will be here often!!! Everyone was super friendly as well and my kids loved that there were games inside for them to play while we waited for our food.

Yelp
New Mastiff kitchen in La Mesa. I am glad there are more food choices in the area. Nice environment and good music. Limited table seating but plenty bar seating. Large craft beer selections. Had the double smash burger with fries. Delicious! Also the pork belly bugs. Was ok too saucy for me and hard dry. Not tender. Flavor was good.

Yelp
Great place for happy hour! My friend and I went on a Friday evening and this place was packed! We were able to find a spot at the bar and started off with some happy hour items. We tried the Brussel sprouts and potatoes and both were a great appetizer! We asked for a recommendation for the pizza and tried That's my boy and oh it was great. The cheesy crispy ends and sauce on top was perfect. It was fluffy on the inside and came out hot. It was extremely filling!

Yelp
Went for a late lunch on a Monday. Great little place right off the 125/94...clean, friendly staff, and a nice selection of craft brews. The smash burger and chicken bacon ranch sandwich were both awesome, and a great deal as part of the lunch combo special! We will definitely be back!!

Yelp
Excellent food, service. One of the owners was kind enough to spend time and chat with our party at the bar. Happy hour is well worth it!

Yelp
Went and checked out Mastiff's latest location and they nailed it again. I've also been a big fan of the pork nugs, they are one of my favorite ways to have pork belly. They have the nice crunch on the outside and still tender on the inside with the extra crunch from the crushed peanuts. To get some veggies, I really liked the brussel sprouts with the little bit of sweetness to it. The Caesar salad does the trick if you're looking for a dinner sized salad. The wings are extra crispy and still juicy as well. I'm all about having crispy wings and they definitely have that crunchy bite. The pizza crust has a nice crunchy crust. The homemade sausage has some great flavor that is much better than most sausage on pizzas you'll find. There is a nice balance to the pizza, not overly cheesy. If you like a thin crust pizza, this won't be your thing though. They have something like 20 beers, seltzer and kombucha on tap and wine. They also have some good happy hour deals. I'm glad I went.

Yelp
Came today (08-16-23) at 3:30 for Happy Hour and sat at the bar. I was waiting for a friend so I ordered a beer and looked over the food menu. They have happy hour from 3-6 and had some decent deals on that menu. Finished my first beer (Societe IPA) and went with one of the hard ciders they had on tap. Both were very good. My buddy finally arrived and we both ordered from the happy hour menu. I went with a slider, which was more like a full size burger, and the honey garlic wings. The burger was hot and juicy and the wings were big and super juicy. I tried a third beer and went with another slider before happy hour ended. I can't speak for the full menu, but what they offered during happy hour was DELICIOUS!! I'll definitely be back and try their pizza.
