"Maestro’s Ocean Club, an ultra-ritzy, seafood focused spinoff of Landry’s Mastro’s Steakhouse, is headed to The Woodlands later this year. The 8,500-square-foot restaurant, which will include a raw bar and offer dishes like Chilean sea bass and prime steaks, will open at 9595 Six Pines Drive, The Chronicle reports. Mastro’s Ocean Club has locations in Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Ariz., Fort Lauderdale, Boston and Newport Beach, California. This will be the first location for Texas, though a Mastro’s Steakhouse exists near the Galleria." - Brittanie Shey

This is 1 of the most satisfied meal I had in Houston. I know u may think that we paid for it. But not all 'expensive ' places have both good food & services. I would say I felt very welcome the moment I get off the car. I was greeted warmly. Then we have someone to guide us to our seat. Then introducing us to all the nice food. Issac is the person helping us & whatever he introduced, please just try it. We would like to thank him for his introduction & I will for sure visit again.

My hubby and I had an incredible dining experience at Mastro’s for Valentine’s Day! From the moment we walked in, the ambience was perfect—elegant, romantic, and beautifully set for the occasion. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish cooked to perfection. Our server, Paul, made the evening even more special with his exceptional service. He was attentive and ensured that every detail was taken care of, making us feel truly valued as guests. If you’re looking for a place with top-notch food, outstanding service, and a luxurious atmosphere, Mastro’s is the perfect choice. Highly recommend!

Google
5/5 Stars! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mastro's Ocean Club in The Woodlands on not one, but TWO dates! Both experiences were exceptional, thanks to the outstanding food, ambiance, and service. The atmosphere was sophisticated and intimate, making it an ideal spot for a romantic evening out. But what truly made our experience stand out was the exceptional service from our waiter, Alex. His attention to detail, knowledge of the menu, and warm hospitality earned him an A+ in our books! If you're looking for a top-notch dining experience in The Woodlands, look no further than Mastro's Ocean Club. Be sure to ask for Alex! Highly recommend!"

Google
Ocean club strikes again! I've dined at Ocean Club in Scottsdale and Vegas, so obviously I trust the brand and know what to expect but this experience was over the top. Made a reservation for my son's 16th birthday at a hi top on the lounge. Wanted to give my son a luxury experience and even I was shocked at the service and attention to detail. As expected, food and atmosphere were 10/10. But, custom menus and welcome cards as well as a visit to the table from the GM (Michelle)!!!!, this is the epitome of great leadership and a successful business (see photos). Lastly, our server, Justin, did everything he could to make our evening special... We started with a prawn cocktail and lobster roll, then shared a jumbo lobster tale and 18 oz. dry aged rib eye... Unfortunately didn't have room for the complimentary dessert:) Thank you Justin and Michelle for making our evening something we will always talk about!

Google
This place is absolutely amazing. All the staff seem to care about the atmosphere, the customer experience, and quality of the restaurant. I wish more places in Houston were like this. Took my wife here for her birthday, and we were very well taken care of. Mario Valdez and others checked on us constantly to make sure our experience was pristine. Will be back again!

Google
First time here, we typically frequent Flemings for reference. The main courses were great, steak was amazing! I found the side dishes completely lacking in flavor (we had 5 different sides) as compared to other steak houses. Desert also was top notch! We had a reservation for 6pm, this place is DARK and loud. So dark everyone was pulling out phones to read menus, they bring out little battery operated lamps but ours was half dead, didn't help much, no offer to replace it. Staff was awesome VERY attentive to drinks. Price seemed ok... Overall I'd say it's worth at least one visit and you decide from there!

RECOMMEND!!! We are from Louisiana and was in Houston for ministry/our 11th year anniversary. My husband’s friend recommended Mastro’s to us. We wasn’t going to make reservations at first because it was 45 minutes from our hotel. After going back and forth we decided to come and it was completely worth every second/minute on the highway. Everyone we came in contact with was amazing. Our waiter Brent was awesome. He was helpful with everything. The manager Jessica was on duty that night and she took the time out to give recommendations on food and she went over the menu with us. All of the food was great from the appetizers to the dessert. Great atmosphere, great restaurant. We will definitely be back when we’re back in Texas.

Yelp
Service was awesome, from the hostess and the front of house management and our server. They master the nuances of fine dining. For me I found everything overly salted, however I have cut a lot of sodium out of my diet and could be overly sensitive. All foods were cooked at the requested temperature and all cocktails were expertly balanced.

Yelp
$600 for two couples? We had an average disappointing dinner and about two drinks each. Nothing over the top or worth what we paid. Disappointed. Bye!

Yelp
I don't dine out at upscale restaurants often but this was very upscale restaurant with super dim lighting and fancy decor. Our waiter was knowledgeable of the menu. Since it's a seafood restaurant, it would have been nice to know what's wild caught versus farmed. FOOD: Lobster mac and cheese: 4/5 Cheesy but It needs more sauce. Lots of lobster meat. Texas Red Fish: 5/5 I chose to have it blackened and LOVED IT! Comes with a side of green sauce and it does enhance the taste but you can eat the fish without it. Asparagus: 5/5 Asked for it to sauteed. Tender but still crunchy. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I really enjoyed my meal and would reorder the same way with no hesitation. Not often do I say that as I'm very critical of food. Would definitely like to try more dishes.

Yelp
My friends and I went to this restaurant and it was so good! The ambiance was everything It felt like comfortable luxury. I loved our waiter. He took very good care of us and was patient with us since we were new. The food was great! I feel like we order the whole menu so we could have options. I will definitely be back

Yelp
Our first time trying this Mastros. We've dined at SFO location & NYC before and this was very on par. I was craving their scallops meal. It's absolutely delicious so we booked the last reservation for the night @ 10pm. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive. I forgot his name but he was a Spanish speaker. My husband ordered a filet with creamed spinach & scalloped potatoes. The portions are huge! I ordered the scallops which come in this delicious sauce and garlic bread. I prefer their regular cosmos, the special Mastro cosmo includes dry ice which I think ruins the taste. For dessert I ordered the chocolate covered strawberries and they were so yummy! All in all a great dinner experience. Will def come here instead of Mastos in Houston.

Yelp
Loud, rowdy, ambiance of a sports bar and overpriced. Exceptionally mediocre. You want 85 words? Here: Loud, rowdy, ambiance of a sports bar and overpriced. Exceptionally mediocre.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on a Saturday. Located in the Woodland Town Center, the restaurant offers valet parking at $8 (we opted for the free Town Center garage parking near by). The restaurant aimed for a candlelit ambiance reminiscent of a high-end steakhouse, though I found it a tad too dim. We were seated next to a patio heater, which fortunately added some extra light and I enjoyed the warmth. For appetizers we ordered the tuna tartare, seared tuna and fried calamari. I found it interesting but thoughtful that they provided chopsticks just for the appetizers. In terms of flavor and quality, nothing really stood out. Personally not a fan of the panko base on the tuna tartare, but the calamari was cooked well. For the main, we ordered the 8oz filet and bone-in Kansas City Strip (cooked medium). The filet was cooked well, juicy and tender. The strip on the other hand, was a bit tough. Overall I enjoyed the food and the cocktails, but compared to other steak house with similar price point in town, Mastro's could have a better appetizer menu.

Jason Z.

Yelp
Our first time going to a Mastro's (also owned by Landry's / the Ferittita's). Located in town center of the Woodlands, they offer valet parking for $8 but we opted to park in one of the free parking garages in town center instead. The interior is extremely dark and reminds me of the mood of one of the AYCE upscale Brazilian steakhouses. There is a large bar and a ton of staff standing around and walking around. Couple comments; it's an upscale steakhouse / focusing on the seafood aspect as well. The $5 bread basket is a bit funny so we opted out of that one. We got a few appetizers (calamari, tuna sashimi, tuna tower) and they were a bit bland and average. The calamari breading was not ideal and slightly soggy. The tuna tower tasted a bit off with the panko breading at its base. Service started out very attentive and then as dinner service progressed, it slowed way down and it took quite a while to get to where we could order entrees. We opted for a bone in Kansas City strip and a 8 oz filet. The steaks were cooked to order correctly for the most part (medium rare +). The outside of the steak had more char/ slightly burnt crust than expected but luckily the steak inside wasn't overcooked. The strip was a bit tough but the filet was tender. We also got grilled asparagus and the truffle gnocchi as the shareable sides. Price point wise, it ranks up there with V&A, B&B, and other upscale steakhouses but I felt the food taste, creativity, and quality was slightly below expectations especially on its appetizer menu. Vic's does a better job doing the old school high end steakhouse menu on the execution and B&B does better on the taste/creativity on its appetizer menu. This is definitely one of the higher end spots in the Woodlands but I felt it was half a step below some of the higher end Houston spots.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Loved the service me and my husband received and atmosphere was great they had live music.

Vicky B.

Yelp
I've never been to a Mastro's in Houston but have heard great things about the restaurants. I had a friend recommend to me the location in the Woodlands and at first I thought it was a steakhouse but realized when I arrived that it's the Ocean Club, with more influences of seafood instead of grilled meats! As a seafood lover, I was very excited to try a few of the dishes and cocktails! When I arrived, they had valet parking but I chose to self park in one of the free garages nearby since the shopping area was pretty busy but not far from the restaurant. When I entered through the big bold doors of the restaurant, the 3 hosts greeted me and I asked to sit at the bar since it was just myself that night. The restaurant is very grand looking on the inside and very dimmly lit, giving an intimate feel to it! The only thing missing was the jazz music which at the time, was Christmas music. There was a live DJ and singer in the corner of the restaurant who sang all the classic songs and had a great voice! At the bar, it was pretty packed as most people were walk ins, vs reservations. There were round high top tables in the bar area for groups of 2 or 4 people to sit and also enjoy the bar area. The bartenders were fairly busy but still gave me great service with providing menus, water and an introduction of the menu since it was my first time. They also gave me recommendations of what's popular or their preference on foods. I had to order the shrimp cocktail since that's one favorite of mine and I got a tequila drink to go with it. Afterwards, I ordered the Maguro lime roll, the hamachi with crispy onions and a NY strip with creamed corn and broccolini. The steak and sides were more for a later meal to take home but the sushi and sashimi I had to enjoy there in person. The fish was so fresh and had a great flavor without the fishy-ness. The roll was also very good and I would definitely order it again! I saw alot of people also order the clear lobster roll but I personally don't enjoy Lobster as much. My steak and sides came out after I finished the roll and fish with some time inbetween to digest. I appreciate a restaurant that can pace you through a meal without bringing all the food out to you immediately. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so good! I got the rest of my food boxed up after eating as much as I could to enjoy another day! Highly recommend this place for anyone who's got a seafood kick, date night, birthday parties or just a girls night out together! Have some fun, splurge and enjoy great food and drinks while you're here! The staff are super friendly and love to celebrate any occasion!

Tracie T.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day here last night and it was amazing!! Clearly the best restaurant in The Woodlands! Impeccable service from Brent, as well as an outstanding redfish, pork chop, cocktails, and lobster fried rice. The low-lighting and crystal light fixtures made it the perfect ambience as well. The best of all was the delicious butter cake with fresh house made whipped cream for dessert!! It was the best dessert either of us had ever had!! Its a rather expensive restaurant, but for a special occasion, its better than any other restaurant in The Woodlands. We'll be back!

Bret B.

Yelp
Live music, professional service, best wine list, excellent menu to please everyone, & prime steaks. Our go to spot in The Woodlands for special dinners. On this night celebrating our kids in from college. Sashimi tuna was luscious, oysters on the 1/2 so cold and good, lovely Bordeaux and steaks! Valet service. Piano bar. TVs with sports. Massive bar, & elegant In and out dining. This is sort of a special event kind of place as it is $$$$$.

D'Artagnan B.

Yelp
I'm not sure where to begin due to mixed feelings.....so I'll go chronologically. Valet offered to keep my car up front for an "up-charge" of $20. I said okay since I didn't want the risk of getting dinged or nicked in a crowded lot on a busy Saturday night. Promptly greeting and seated after checking in with hostess stand.......we're waiting for another couple weeks had invited. Great ambiance and we liked the location of our table. Our guests arrived within minutes of being seated. Very friendly waitress who meant well, interrupts us while greeting our guests and immediately solicits drink order and wants to tell us about the menu. We asked her to give us a moment to settle in. A few minutes later she reappears and gives us a very good but long overview of the menu and "up-charge" options for beef and fish selections. She knew her stuff and had a great personality but overall we were very underwhelmed with the service and lack of follow through with the team she was working with. As we perused the menu, I noticed no one had brought bread to our table and at the very bottom of the menu was a blurb noting Bread Service was an "up-charge" of $5.00. Seriously Mr. Fertitta at these price points and so called highly upscale steakhouse!!! What next an "up-charge" for tap water!!! ......a clear pattern emerging FOOD Generous pour of my bourbon on the rocks. We did ask for "bread service" but wondered if we wanted more was that an additional "up-charge" per service or unlimited. Garlic Tuna Sashimi was outstanding. 2 of us ordered Caesar Salads and we were both disappointed, lacked flavor, punch and no anchovies laid on top. No fresh ground pepper was offered in addition to no salt and pepper shakers even on the table. I like a highly seasoned steak and waitress said they could add Cajun Seasoning to their house rub. The quality of my strip was good even over cooked to what I wanted, but severely lacked flavor so I was forced to drown it A1. Brussel sprouts bland even after "up-charge" for maple bacon added. The deserts were a big hit with all of us. Overall 3 stars due to high price point without commensurate service.....asking for things like more bottled water multiple times and still not brought. Ticky tack "up-charges." Guess what, they up-charged me $20 bucks for keeping the car in front and the car was not kept out front!!!

Yelp
Visited Mastro's yesterday for a business meeting. The restaurant itself is very nicely appointed and comfortable. Once we were seated, I noticed that the music was so loud at our table that we could not carry on a conversation. I ask three times for this to be corrected and finally it was. This is sold as a high-end Steakhouse/Seafood establishment. The music was way too loud and not very good at that. The service was fine by our waiter and he did all he could to overcome the environment. The food was average at best. My filet was bland, the creamed spinach was sadly mistaking any flavor. I will say that my chowder and the black bread was the highlight of the meal. I normally do not eat at Restaurants with less than 4 out of 5 stars and I wish i had stayed with that rule. Too many good places to ever visit this locations again. What a disappointment.

Brittany B.

Yelp
Here's the good the bad and the ugly (or for me, the great, the good and the what the hell). Here's the great, the service we received was fantastic! As walk-ins we were immediately seated for dinner service, each dish arrived in a timely fashion, our server Paul enthusiastically offered recommendations, and our water glasses remained full. We were not rushed, fussed or belittled even though we arrived arguably underdressed. The service alone warrants a return trip for me. The Good- everything we tried ranged from fine to delicious. Mango & Fire cocktail- balanced, fine. Know that both their wine and cocktail menu are pretty extensive. Bread service- a variety of bread options included, but overall each selection was...just fine. App-sashimi- fresh and well prepared, pretty good. Entree-red fish- pretty delicious, but not something I'd return for. Side- potatoes. Yes! Butter cake- the ice cream was fantastic. Butter cake smelled amazing, and although not cravable for me personally, I'd order it again. And finally, the what the hell- I'm still contemplating why everything offered is an up charge? Want water? Congratulations, you just bought the whole bottle, that'll be $10. Want bread service? I know we didn't mention it, but that'll be an additional $5. I could go on. While the meal, the atmosphere, and the service were top notch, I wish they would politely disclose up charges during the meal to minimize those bill arrival surprises!

Yelp
I've tried Mastro's in Uptown a few times and the most impressive thing about it is the waterfall view and ambiance. The food on the other hand is less than impressive. I visited the Woodlands location for a birthday dinner and I must say it it worse than the Uptown location. Or waiter whose name I can't recall (tall, Caucasian male with a beard) was so loud and pretty yelled at us the entire night. I even politely mentioned to him that he must have been a coach because his voice is really loud and carries, but he didn't take the hint and was still loud. The restaurant is nice and there were 7 of us. We ordered several things, crab cakes, steaks of all sorts, truffle butter, and pretty much all the sides. Mac & Cheese, spinach, mushrooms, potatoes and so on. When I say literally everything was tasteless I am not exaggerating. Beautiful presentation and nice looking food but nothing had flavor or seasoning. I never use salt or pepper on my food but I had to this night. Honestly, at the prices Fertitta sets these menus flavor is one thing that should never be lacking. When I stay at the Post Oak hotel, I use their house transportation to take me to Steak 48. I am not the only one with this view. Several repeat visitors of the hotel feel the same and the entire part/table at the Woodlands location all felt the same. We also had cocktails and wine. Wine was the best tasting thing I had that night. Mastro's is highly overrated all hype and no substance,

Jeanette F.

Yelp
Tonight we went with family for the first time and we have to say we had a great time. Shout out to Brett for the great service he was absolutely fantastic. The steaks, scalloped potatoes, lobster Mac and cheese and creamed spinach were all delicious. Now can we talk about that butter cake omg! Mouthwatering deliciousness in every bite. My son is a quite the bourbon expert and the choices offered on your menu made his birthday that much more special. Definitely a place we will be frequenting.

Thomas P.

Yelp
Highly overrated. Nice ambiance but not much more than that. The soup was the highlight of the meal sadly it was a huge miss overall.

Theresa B.

Yelp
My husband and I went to this restaurant on a Monday night to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The ambiance was perfect. Nice low light, great live music at a low enough level to enjoy yet still talk, and a beautifully decorated space. We began our evening at the bar where I enjoyed the Carmel chocolate martini. It was delicious!!! We moved to our table when we were ready as it was not busy and they had flexibility. The menu was specially designed for us with a 35th wedding anniversary greeting at the top which we were then able to take home. We started our dinner with a crab cake which was very good. For dinner I ordered the filet and my husband had the sea bass. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. The sides are served family style and we chose the roasted Brussels and cheesy potato's. Both were so so good!! Of course there were plenty left to take home! The restaurant gave us a cheese cake and we added the butter cake as they are known for this dessert and upon recommendation from friends. Delicious!! We will definitely be returning here and highly recommend!!

Kristy H.

Yelp
Phenomenal experience per usual. The vibe is romantic, sexy, trendy and sophisticated. Food is top notch. Lobster bisque was out of this world. Tomahawk was superb. We can't leave without grabbing the Mac n cheese and finishing off with the butter cake. This time we went with the seasonal pecan n caramel butter cake. Amazing!

Tiffani B.

Yelp
I enjoyed dinner with my mom last night at Mastros. This was our first time at this establishment and it was nice. The atmosphere is pleasant, but was slightly too dark for my mom to read the menu (Key the reading glasses and phone flashlight!) and even I had a hard myself until my eyes adjusted. There aren't enough table lamps to go around. The Service was fantastic! I really enjoyed the pleasantries and menu recommendations. The server was knowledgeable and knew the ingredients of all items off hand. The spicy mambo salad was unique and I would recommend, similar to a caesar with a wasabi kick. This was my first time trying a Bone In center cut filet and I enjoyed it. The lobster mashed potatoes were very very good. The best part of dinner were the yummy desserts. The butter cake is hands down the best I've ever had. The mango sorbet is also delicious. Overall, I didn't give 5 stars because of the prices which I personally thought were exorbitantly high.

Eric A.

Yelp
Burnt steak on outside and medium rare as requested on inside but tasted terrible. Plus way too much cheese on all the sides. Not very great for the price. The desserts were good and huge. One is enough to share between 2-3 people.

Andrea J.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time here celebrating Valentine's Day. The ambiance had dim lighting, a DJ playing and singing to keep the mood light, and the bar around made for nice decor. My ribeye was cooked to perfection (missed photo) and our lobster tails were meaty and delicious. Our macaroni was FULL of lobster as well and the butter cake topped off the entire experience. Overall, it was a wonderful evening filled with good food and a nice atmosphere, making it the ideal spot for a special date night. I highly recommend.

Karen T.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I celebrated our early Mother's Day dinner. We started with a pomegranate martini and two of us had oysters our other friends got tuna for appetizers and they were all very good and presented nicely. The martini was a bit strong, but we enjoyed it. We had steaks and fish with different side orders. They did cook the steak perfectly the way we wanted it. Deserts are all great shareable portions too. Our server was very pleasant. Their sommelier was very good at describing their wine selections. And of course, because it's fine dining the ambiance is always so nice. My family and I liked coming here my friends enjoyed it this time too.

Brandy O.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance but the male bartender ruined our experience. I am a very happy bubbly personality and he took this as me being intoxicated. I had one drink and he cut me off. Make sure you don't smile or laugh at the bar, apparently this causes concern. Awful service, I took it personally and won't sit at the bar ever again if he's there.

Kennedy M T.

Yelp
I've been dying to try Mastro's for a while now! I did not want to visit the Galleria location because of its location, so I chose the Woodlands. Let's start with my dislikes .... Hate where this restaurant sits, too congested. My food was mid at best! I had a 6oz filet that looked like it was 3oz with ABSOLUTELY NO seasoning, not even salt! My lemon drop martini wasn't flavorful it kinda had a cheap vodka taste, however it was Pretty lol ! The sides need help too, cream corn was 6/10 the spinach taste like it came out of a bag, no salt no onion powder, no nothing! The Customer Service was amazing, staff was attentive and helpful! My server Jada was informative and friendly, I especially appreciated the phone call before to confirm and afterwards to say thank you! Thanks for the experience!

Michael S.

Yelp
Mastro's website says there is a dress code, however, you would not know it when dining at the establishment. There is no enforcement of any dress code which cheapens the experience. Mastro's dress code is what people who are not celebrities or professional athletes, but think they are, would wear to a fine dining establishment. Also, I think Mastro's spent all its money on the sign out front because they forgot to put lights in the restaurant. It could be confused with a themed restaurant where you eat in the dark. Moreover, they did not spare any expense on the stereo system. I can attest that it works well. So well I could not have a conversation with my wife sitting right next to me. No complaints about the food or service which was very good, however, unlikely to return because the atmosphere (dress code, lights, music) is unpleasant.

Kristen C.

Yelp
We dined here again this past weekend. The service was outstanding but the food was not up to par. We ate here shorty after they opened and it was phenomenal. Hubby and I had the shrimp cocktail for our appetizer and the petite filet with a lobster tail as our entree. The shrimp cocktail was good. The lobster tail was way over cooked and not worth the $38.00 per tail. The fillet's were flavorless and tough. We had the garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus and mushrooms as sides and they were all very good. Once again, the service was impeccable but the food was lacking for this caliber of restaurant.

Sarah H.

Yelp
We went for date night with friends and everything was amazing! The ambiance is so chic and has a seductive undertone which was super fun. Our server (Audrey) was fantastic. The drinks were delicious - they came with their shakers so nothing was wasted. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were yummy. We shared the fries and the potatoes au gratin. Def looking forward to going back.

Zach M.

Yelp
Service and atmosphere was great. Oysters were not good. Ordered a steak medium rare and it came out well done... unfortunately I would not recommend for the price you pay for this place.

Darrell W.

Yelp
Extremely bad service. I ordered a medium well Porterhouse steak and got a charred mess. The steak was almost rare.

Marilyn F.

Yelp
Several years since review previous review. . The hamachi wasn't close to previous dish and. Very disappointing based on my over the top review on the previous trip. The bone in rib-eye was good as prepared but the meat was sub par as quality. We asked several times for the bread basket and finally received after entree was served. Sub par for a Mastros establishment.

Karen M.

Yelp
Omg. Definitely not worth the money. It is so dark in restaurant people were using cell phone light to read menu. We saw one table had a lamp on it so I asked for one. Service also left a lot to be desired. There were 7 at our table and 3 of us ran out of water. I had to find a lady walking by and asked for refills. So many complaints on the food. None of us liked the sautéed mushrooms. Sea bass was very fishy. Nobody liked it. Lobster bisque, lobster roll and filet steak were good. The desserts were the best part of the meal. The crab and rice was just okay. The month earlier we all ate at Trulucks and food, service and prices were outstanding. Very disappointing.

Mr. O.

Yelp
The missus and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to help celebrate. We have been here before and will come back. They don't miss everything on the menu is amazing.

Sonia R.

Yelp
ROACH. This is my first time leaving a negative review for any restaurant. My husband and I visited the restaurant today to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Halfway through the meal a ROACH is visibly running around our table. The server happened to pass by and I let him know. He was kind enough to get it off the table and kill it. Of course we couldn't finish our meal because we were disgusted. You would think the manager would come over and offer to have the establishment cover our whole meal. But no, she stated they'd cover the SIDES. As much revenue as this restaurant makes a night, you'd think they would've done the right thing immediately and not charged us. It wasn't until we were driving home that the manager called and offered to refund us for what we paid, which was about $150 or so. Our server and the valet were great. Management clearly needs some help in the customer service department. We will not be returning.

Yelp
Made a reservation for my first experience at Mastero,s. Upon arrival at the hostess station I had to almost yell to be heard and couldn't hear any response. If I wanted a concert I would have gone across the street. Figured it served a young crowd that had nothing to say to each other or were good with texting one another. Too loud. They charge like fine dining but act like a beer garden.

Yelp
You are sure to have a wonderful dining experience here. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful as expected, service is top notch, I was attended to very nicely. The atmosphere is fantastic for date night, the lights are dim and the music is soft, or enjoy an evening out solo as I did - you never feel awkward, even after they remove the extra place settings from your table lol. So, I gave it 3 stars because I am comparing it to its Chicago location which I visited some time ago, and I still think about that meal to this day ( perhaps I'm just greedy). Honestly the food was underwhelming for me, dare I say, the best thing I had was the bread service. I was especially excited about their famous butter cake, but they clearly changed the recipe ( luckily you can find the cheat recipe on YouTube, you're welcome). Nonetheless, meh enjoy.

Yelp
Wonder where you can go to have conversations about The Art of War, Moby Dick, and Russian caviare? This is the place and the staff is ready for you. Mastro must recruit at the university level because I've never had these conversations at other places. So yeah, Mastro is definitely next level. Let's look at the data: the wine list is over thirty pages. The scotch list has over 40 items. The bar has 3 very large shelves see pictures. If you're going out for a special night, this place will deliver the service and experience that you're looking for. Suggested attire: a comfortable plaid smoking jacket, silk shirt, and for her, a sexy party dress. Have a great night!

Yelp
Having dined at the Mastro's at the Post Oak Hotel as well as Willie G's, I was really looking forward to this dinner with friends. While we had an enjoyable evening, it wasn't quite the over-the-top meal I was expecting... First impressions were promising. I had dined at the restaurant that previously occupied this space and was blown away by the transformation. The space is dark, sleek, and glitzy, which is pretty much the opposite of what it used to look like. The music was loud, adding to the "clubby" feel. It's not as glam as the location at the Post Oak Hotel. Also, the crowd is much more suburban, which is not necessarily a bad thing! Service was outstanding... very friendly, warm, and welcoming. The various servers who attended to us were efficient and professional. We started with the bread basket and the calamari. The calamari was fantastic! Sooooo tender, and the Asian ginger sauce that came with it was absolutely phenomenal. This dish was the highlight of the meal. I ordered the Chilean sea bass, and we had the spinach as a side. In addition, because of the rave reviews, we ordered the lobster mashed potatoes. The sea bass was well-prepared, albeit slightly under seasoned. But the real disappointment was the lobster mashed potatoes. We agreed it would have been better had the lobster been butter-poached or even steamed. This lobster tasted as though it was grilled, and it just over-powered the dish. Also the contrasting textures left me longing for balance. We finished the meal with the butter cake, which also did not live up to the hype. While the flavor was nice and buttery, the texture was "rough" ...hard... crumbly... as though it was overdone. I'm glad we tried it, but I think I will stick to the restaurants at the Post Oak hotel.

Yelp
The biggest challenge is that my petite filet tasted like liver and was chewy. I had it prepared medium. The seasoning on the meat was fine but I definitely had a liver taste. My friend also had a petite filet cooked 'medium' and she also said hers was chewy.

Yelp
We dined at Mastros last night and it didn't disappoint. Some of the reviews had us concerned if this would be a good choice to eat, but our experience was fantastic. The staff was super friendly, valet, server, management, and everyone in between. Bar area is nice, it can be a bit loud, but no more than similar restaurants of this caliber. We enjoyed a drink (or two) at the bar before our reservation-bar staff was super attentive. Main dining area is cozy and romantic. Wine selections for every budget. My wife ordered the Salmon and loved it. I had the Red Fish and we shared the lobster mashed potato's...huge portions. Full of flavor and cooked perfectly. For desert we shared the Butter Cake...OMG good! Our server was Bryson, he was on point. Spent a few minutes visiting with us, shared some of his knowledge of wine and Bourbon. Yes, this is an expensive restaurant, similar in price to a Flemings, Perry's, TRIS or Trulucks. We will definitely go back...

Yelp
Went for my daughter's anniversary and the personal touch to the menus showing happy 7th anniversary was very nice, food was amazing and service was top notch. HOWEVER, We had a surprise of German roaches crawling on the Pilar we sat next to. The waiter got it after we called him. Then 5 min later another one. Now, if these were tree bugs or water bugs, I would understand. But German roaches are not good. The valet employees were too busy on their cell phones to acknowledge us, and when we got out of the car, we had to ask if they were open because they pretty much ignored us, so we thought it was still closed. This was prior to anyone else arriving. At such a high-end restaurant and paying for valet, I would expect to be greeted, and the car door opened instead we had to go up to the valet employees ask if it was open and if they would park our vehicle. I also wasn't aware Mastros was part of Landrys club. Otherwise, I would have given my card for points at the time we paid. This was our first time having dinner at Mastros, and despite the above, we will be going back.

Yelp
I have been wanting to eat at this restaurant for quite a while and finally went last night and was so disappointed. I ordered the crabcake appetizer as my meal with a small salad. The menu said backfin crab, but when they came, it was mostly filling and I could barely find any crab in it. For $24 each both of us did not even eat our crabcakes. Very, very disappointed.

Yelp
Lucas was our server and he was great! Very personable and friendly. We've only visited Mastros in Vegas and glad to dine at The Woodlands location to celebrate Father's Day as we came in town from Dallas. We ordered the fried calamari, big eye tuna sushi, A5 wagyu beef rolls, lobster roll sushi, clam chowder, lobster bisque, bread basket, bone in filet, 6oz and 8oz filet, seabass, halibut, and you have to get the king crab. For the shareable sides, we ordered the lobster Mac n cheese, sautéed spinach, sautéed asparagus, and creamed corn. You can't leave without having the signature warm butter cake and keylime pie! Six adults ate all of this and it was delicious!!!

Yelp
With 2 birthdays in the family we needed somewhere nice to celebrate. With Mastro's being newly opened, we figured why not. When you pull up, there are no remnants of the old Grotto Ristorante - and I was amazed by the transformation. The art and decor are fabulous. We had a 6:45 reservation and were seated right away, although I did notice the main entrance had no seating for guests to wait for a table - oops. We were a party of 6 so we were seated in the room with the bigger tables, away from the bar and live music. So it was loud but not so loud that we couldnt converse. We started off with some drinks and wine, which everyone enjoyed. For appetizers (5/5): oyster Rockefeller, caesar salads, serrano kaffir lime tuna sashimi, A5 wagyu beef roll. All were delicious, the tuna was great quality and they even included spice and crunch, which made for a great bite. Sushi was good as well. Caesar salads were dressed well. Main courses (4/5): roast chicken, filet mignons, tuna tartare, lobster tail. Everyone enjoyed their mains, the lobster was especially buttery and tasty. Filet could have used a bit more seasoning. Sides (3/5): here's where we lose a star. The sauteed spinach and asparagus had absolutely no flavor. Some lime, salt pepper and garlic wouldve done the trick but there was nothing. Now the rosemary garlic mushrooms were AMAZING. I dont even like mushrooms that much. Lobster mashed potatoes incredibly creamy and tasty but FILLING (it's a huge portion). Dessert (4/5): I mean it's pretty hard to mess up dessert, I thought the creme brulee was very good, the berries were fresh. Butter cake and molten lava cake were also enjoyed. The cheesecake was just okay. The highlights of the meal to me: caesar salad, tuna sashimi, lobster tail, lobster mashed potatoes. Feedback: I agree with a lot of reviews saying this place has an identity crisis: I think they need to figure out whether this is a classy establishment or large bar. I agree that the menu could be more descriptive. I agree that the overall noise level should be lower by lowering the volume on the music and reducing the number of tables. Staff were BUSY and apparently capacity is 350. But you cant sacrifice good service/ambiance to pack as many people in as possible. Bathroom attendant is just weird - get rid of them. I feel awkward having someone watch me and dont wanna pay to use the restroom. And only 2 stalls for such a large bathroom is a disaster. Bottom line: the food was very good, the service was good but slow at times, restaurant is very busy but has great decor, and there are some things they can improve. But I would recommend for any kind of celebration.

Yelp
Took my wife and elderly mother in law to the new Mastro's Ocean Club in the Woodlands for an early NYE dinner. We were happy to have the full menu available and not some pared down NYE Prix Fixe. I was a little apprehensive after reading all of the reviews indicating loud music. Our reservation was for 5:30, and the place was already bustling. Service was very attentive, and the music was not loud at all. A very enjoyable atmosphere. The Bigeye Tuna Tostada was excellent. We've had a couple of version of Tuna tostadas since and the couldn't hold a candle to the Ocean Club version. We had a Spicy Mambo Salad and a Caesar Salad and are grateful that the server offered us a smaller off the menu version of each because even the smaller version was sizeable. The Spicy Mambo is kind of a spicy riff on a Caeser and is a must get at a Mastro's restaurant. For the mains both ladies had filets and I chose the Blackened Swordfish (we were at the Ocean Club afterall) and the fish was very flavorful and the steaks cooked to perfection and well seasoned. Much better seasoning on the steaks than we had experienced before at the Post Oak Mastro's Steakhouse location. Lobster Mashed Potatoes as a side were decadent and full of lobster. Plenty to take home for leftovers. Last but not least, its almost a sin to go to Mastro's and not get the butter cake. Huge, easily fed the three of us, and it held up to 5-star expectations. The pacing of the meal was excellent, and the three old people were home safe long before the NYE crazies were out on the town. Good job Mastro's Ocean Club!!

Yelp
Went last night for date night! We had reservations and were immediately sat down! Bryson was our waiter and was amazing! Recommend some fabulous wine.. I ended up getting a bottle! Started off with the shrimp cocktail with colossal shrimp! The hubs and I shared the bone in ribeye and it was cooked to perfection! Paired with the garlic mashed potatoes and rosemary mushrooms! They were seriously amazing! We ended up getting dessert to go bc we were so full! Had it for breakfast! Butter cake is the way to go!

Yelp
My husband and I had 8pm dinner reservations tonight. We were expeditiously seated...at the tiniest table imaginable, outside and against a short glass wall. The waiter had even remarked that he'd take the wine list from us to free up some space since it was a little tight (we hadn't ordered a thing yet)! I begrudgingly mentioned to the waiter that I'd like to sit at a table that was a little bigger considering there was no way this tiny thing could hold a seafood tower, drinks, and a salad all at the same time. We were quickly moved to a different table, inside. This table was slightly larger (this was the only picture I brought myself to take). I still had my concerns but knew this one was so much closer to a normal sized table that, I'd just take it. We were asked if we wanted bread service, we said yes. We were served about 4 different types of bread in a basket. We were only able to eat the pretzel buns because every other bread was hard as a rock. I could've broken a crown. Seriously. We started with six, delectable, fresh oysters on the half shell and split one Caesar salad (turned into two perfect sized portions). The hard as rocks bread was used for the croutons. Couldn't eat them! We shared lobster mashed potatoes and rosemary mushrooms. Both were great but the mashed potatoes were my fave. Huge chunks of lobster in creamy potatoes. My main was a 22 oz bone in rib-eye and my husband ordered the bigeye tuna. Both were cooked to perfection and I had to take about 18 oz of steak to go. I had two cocktails; a Dream Berry and a Berry Lemonade. The Dream Berry had a sugared rim and tasted like delicious candy. After a creme brûlée, it was time for the bill. 1) I was charged for four drinks when I only ordered two. 2) we were charged $5.00 for a basket of hard as rocks bread, of which we could only eat a pretzel bun 3). The butter topping I was offered to top my steak with cost $15 on top of my ~$65 steak. I went in with an open mind, knowing this was the first month of opening. People are still learning and things certainly wouldn't be smooth. Our actual food service wasn't bad, it was just sub par for the setting. The music was great and I personally didn't think it was too loud. To MOC management-don't sit ladies outside without asking us if it's okay to be out there. We're not in California. It was humid, 70 degrees and your patio heaters were on. It takes special folks to be okay with that. I would go again because the food was generally great but I'd give it another couple of months for these folks to learn how things should be handled.

Yelp
We are excited for another steak house in the Woodlands! This spot is very similar to that of the Galleria but far nicer with a wonderful staff and team to welcome you. We got there a little bit late and without a reservation but we were able to enjoy open seating at the very cool bar. I'd give it a 5 star for environment alone, but I felt like the steak was missing a little something...some seasoning/flavor. Having said that it was cooked to perfect temperature and had a great texture. Y'all know I don't eat meat often so when do I need it to smack! I also had a Caesar salad and of course some truffle fries; both were very good and huge portions. I'm sure I'll be back again soon.
