I had a fantastic experience at Mastro's Steakhouse! Mastro's Steakhouse impressed not only with its signature dishes but also with its inviting ambiance and impeccable cleanliness. The warm, elegant atmosphere enhanced the dining experience, making it a perfect setting for a special meal. The attention to cleanliness throughout the restaurant contributed to a sense of comfort and added to the overall positive impression. I had a fantastic experience at this location. The filet and bone marrow were cooked to perfection, and the creamed corn was a delightful side. The attentive service, especially from Robert, added to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommend for a great dining experience! Mastro's Steakhouse truly excels in creating a delightful environment for its patrons.

Has dinner at Mastro’s steakhouse, Valley Fair. Food was very nice. The seafood tower has a nice selection of seafood. The bone-in ribeye tastes pretty good. Their signature warm butter cake is always good and tasty. We dine in a private room and service was pretty good. Overall, experience is good and having it near the mall is an added advantage for parking.

After we sat down at the table, we waited for about 15 minutes before our server finally showed up with menus and asked about our water preferences. The $6 bread basket seemed to be a good deal, but no, everything was way too salty. My hubby’s medium steak looked extremely rare. He didn’t enjoy it. The broccolini side I got with the jumbo lobster tail was also very salty. It was a pricy dinner and I was chugging water nonstop after that.

We generally had a good experience. After giving it some thought I give it 4 stars, not 5, mostly based on price/quality. Appetizers (tuna tartar and bone marrow) were great. Steak was also quite good, but one steak was slightly overcooked (almost medium vs medium rare) and one steak was a bit more rare on one side than we expected (but actually very tasty!) server said something about “hot spots on the grill”, which for steak-house at this price point seems strange. The service overall was quite good (except our server completely disappeared for about 20 minutes right after the “medium doneness” situation). To be fair he did suggest to redo but I didn’t want to do it. Overall I still recommend this steakhouse, but it was not a perfect 5 stars.

Great food and great service. We were a party of 13 and we were told that we have to sign a paper agreeing to the gratuity of 20% plus a 4% banquet fee. This was the only strange thing in the whole experience otherwise a perfect venue for food and live entertainment. The steaks were at the percent temperature as well as all the side helpings that were tasty as well as plentiful in size. The servers were knowledgeable, polite and curious. Overall a great fine dining experience.

Mastro's Steakhouse is a fine dining steakhouse, the exterior design of golden metrics explain it all. The vibe is low key, whole the food is high class, strongly recommend their ribeye, medium rare, you'll like it as I did.

Mastro’s Steakhouse is an absolute treat! The live singing creates such an elegant and lively atmosphere — it really adds to the whole dining experience. The butter cake is beyond amazing — rich, warm, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The sushi tower was incredibly fresh, and even the bread they serve is soft and fresh out of the oven. The steak was perfectly cooked and so tasty — truly the star of the night. On top of all that, the service is exceptional — attentive, friendly, and professional. Everything about Mastro’s makes it a memorable night out!

Went here for dinner with some work colleagues and all I can say is wow. Evan was our server and he was fantastic. Always making sure we had everything we needed even before we had to look up. His food recommendations were also top tier. 10/10 would recommend him and Mastro's again.

Every time I come in and see Akatzin, Rocio, or Chris behind the bar, I already know it's going to be a good time. The service is always on point, friendly, quick, and consistent. What I really love is how personal they are. They make you feel welcomed the second you sit down, like you're part of the crew, not just another customer. They always bring good energy, great vibes, and they never miss a beat with the drinks. It's the kind of service that keeps you coming back. Big shoutout to the whole team for always making it feel like home.

I've had nothing but positive experiences here! Specifically Rocio and Akatzin! Highly suggest the grilled garlic sashimi as well as the French Onion Soup (probably my favorite).

Had high hopes for this new steakhouse. Was a little disappointed because the French onion soup and steak/fries were aliitle too salty to our taste. Food was still very good but a little salty. The $5 bread basket. I wished they told us it was $5 before give us the bread basket. We were still looking through the menu. Otherwise Mastero would get 5 stars plus.

I'm in town for work and wanted a nice steak. As soon as my plane landed, I headed to mastros. I walked in by myself and sat at the bar. I ordered the kansas city strip. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked to a nice medium rare. It had a nice crust with a butter finish. Overall a well executed steak and tasted amazing. I will definitely go back to try the rib-eye!

Came here for a networking event. Parking is a bit tricky. But food was awesome. We got a tailored menu with the theme of the event printed. We got a few seafood towers to share. The oysters are very fresh. I enjoyed their oysters and the shrimps. We all ordered their famous steaks. Super juicy and tender. Nice flavor. Shared a few deserts too. Solid options. Wines served were nice. Crisp and refreshing. With great hosts and nice friends to meet. It was perfect.

The downstairs bar is amazing. They have live music and it's got a great vibe. The lighting is perfect. The staff is on point and the food is delicious. One of my favorite appetizers is the Hamachi with crispy onions, and they can make a solid ranch water. I've tried their espresso, martini and skinny margarita and I think they're too sweet for me, but if you like a sweeter drink, it's probably delicious. So this time I skipped those and went with my regular ranch water.

This was the first time I went to Mastro's Steakhouse. I had gone to other local steakhouses in the area and decided to give this a go. When you arrive, you're immediately greeted inside this gorgeous, luxurious lobby. I had reservations for this dinner and was seated promptly. The servers were super nice and smiling. As we sat a large assorted bread basket was brought to the table. The bread was so fresh and delicious, but did not want to get full on good bread. We had a shrimp cocktail platter with oysters and pork belly to start. The food was hot, delicious and flavourful. For the main, I had a filet, which was cooked perfectly and came on a súper hot plate, which kept the steak nice and warm. The side dish was lobster mashed potatoes, which were so rich and amazing! I've never had lobster mashed potatoes! The ambiance was very nice, with live music being played and a live singer. It was elegant, lively and entertaining. This is a perfect spot for a date, family dinner or just dinner! There is a gorgeous bar on the first level, which one could hang out and have drinks to hang out and chat. All the staff were super kind and attentive. I will definitely go back again and try more of the food. Price for the food is on par with a comparable steakhouse and worth every penny. Parking is available via parking structure nearby or valet out near front entrance. A must to visit if you're in south bay/Silicon Valley!!

First time trying Mastro's in the bay and it was an incredible dining experience. I went with my cousins and let's just say we got more than we could handle . (Each of us had a to-go bag). We got some steak, lamb, tuna, and 3 sides (lobster mash potatoes, mushroom, and cauliflower. The dry-aged steak was amazing, it was perfectly cooked, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Easily one of the most succulent steaks I've had in a long time. The only reason I gave it a 4/5 was due to some steaks came out more rare than ordered (asked for medium), but our server Veronica (special shoutout!!) handled it perfectly and fixed it right away. Her recs were all 10/10 and she was so attentive that it really made the experience even better. If you love steaks and just great service, I recommend you to go try Mastros's. We'll definitely be coming back!

Mastro's is my favorite steakhouse in the South Bay! I've been here multiple times and it's always been good. I enjoy the dry aged ribeye medium rare - it's perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also love all the sides and have never had a bad one. The service here is great as well. The waiters are super attentive and they serve the sides for everyone. They also will help pack you food to-go. There's live music in the evenings on the first and the restaurant is dimly lit. There's a large upstairs and some private rooms.

Great food, great service, great ambiance. 3 things just sum it right up. Obviously you're paying for the service and ambiance and the food prices are tied into the mark up but the food quality is well worth it! I've only always gotten meat as my main dish here (lamp, steaks, chicken, etc) but I've also heard great things about their seafood so I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong here. I do enjoy the sides (mashed potatoes and mac and cheese are at the top of this list) and the recommended wine pairings are terrific! Highly recommend this place for a nice date or quiet evening with loved ones!

Mastro's Steakhouse is still my #1 favorite steakhouse. I've been also been to the SF location but San Jose's location takes the cake. Mastros is located at the Westfield Valley Fair mall. Depending on which day you go, can dictate how easy it is to find parking, as Santana Row is directly across the street. I love EVERYTHING about Mastros. When you enter, you're greeting and I love the low light setting, accents and designs within the interior and the staircase makes a great place to take photos. They do have two floors for seating and upstairs they're also have a more intimate and private room for special occasions. I've been to Mastros probably a total of 4 times and each time they've never done me wrong. I always order the steak or branzino with the lobster Mac and cheese and it's always a 5/5 stars for me. The bread is also incredibly good and addicting. Staff is nice and if you're celebrating a birthday or anniversary, let them know! They will print your name on a menu and roll it up for you to take home. They'll also write nice notes on your dessert plate for that special occasion.

Even though there is a Mastro's in San Francisco on Geary, I made reservation for the one in Valley Fair so my sister ( who lives in San José ) can join us. We were promptly greeted by 3 charming ladies at the front desk, and we were seated after a few minutes wait. We were presented menus with my name printed on it, since it was my birthday. This little touch is much appreciated. We had Kumamoto oysters, crab cakes and tuna tartare tostadas for appetizers. All so delicious. For entrees, we had one Filet Mignon, one aged rib eye, and another aged rib eye, with a one dollar difference between the 2, and I don't really know why, and one Chilean Seabass. For sides we had lobster Mac and cheese, lobster mashed potatoes, ( the mashed potatoes won! ) Brussels sprouts and fries. The steaks were perfectly cooked, and all were very tender!! The Seabass was delicious too, with a hollandaise on the side. Needless to say, portions were so huge we couldn't finish all. Britney and team swiftly boxed them to go table side. For dessert, I was supposed to get a complimentary chocolate cake, but they forgot it. Instead they brought the extra desserts we ordered on a platter: the house butter cake, the crème brûlée and the chocolate covered strawberries. There was a huge mound of whipped cream, and I thought the chocolate cake is underneath, but nah. It's ok, we had enough desserts so I didn't ask for it. The restaurant is not brightly lit, there was piano music on the other side of the room, so we can converse easily. On my way to the restroom, I saw an impressive wine cellar. Ahhhh, if we were younger!!! Service is the best ever we have received!! We have been to Eataly, Joey's, Baekjeong...on that row of restaurants in Valley Fair, not counting the ones on Santana Row across the street, but we were amazed with the service at Mastro's : professional, efficient, charming, non- intrusive, on point. Crumbs were swept away, plates were changed, silverware were changed... and when we went to the restroom, a server lifted the curtain for us to get through.. with a smile. A gentleman in a suit ( must be a manager ) came by to check many times, helping with the plates too. It was a team that works together cohesively. So my sincere thanks to the Mastro's team, to Britney and her support team for making my birthday meal so memorable.

SPECIAL OCCASIONS : Came here for my dad's birthday. This place is excellent for special occasions. They printed his name on the top of our menus as a special touch. They brought out a dessert with beautiful presentation. PARKING: I appreciated that they take reservations. They call on the day of to confirm, ask about what you are celebrating, and provide you with parking instructions as needed. Closest parking entrance is Bloomingdale's and then 5-10 min walk per the restaurant. Most convenient option is valet parking which is right next to the restaurant, which costs about $40. AMBIANCE: Mood lighting, two floors, elevators and stairs both available. There was a live piano player and singer when we dined here. Decor is tasteful and upscale. DIETARY CONSIDERATIONS: I appreciated that they had vegetarian options (as I'm the vegetarian in the family) and that they had mocktail options for my parents which they really enjoyed. SERVICE: Cyrus was very attentive and pleasant, we enjoyed his service. The manager stopped by our table and engaged in conversation with us twice, that was kind. We felt a bit rushed in the beginning of our meal as the entrees were brought out before we were done with our soups/salads. Then we felt like we were waiting so long for our dessert because we finished the coffee and tea we had ordered to pair with it. Despite the tempo of our meal being off, it was still a great meal. They served our sides to us individually and they boxed and bagged our leftovers for us. ENTREES: We enjoyed all 4 of the mocktails, bread service, french onion soup and chopped salads to start. They have half salad options which is a good size per person. For entrees we had the halibut, salmon, Japanese wagyu 8 oz, and vegetarian sushi roll. The sides we chose were the scalloped potatoes, creamed corn, and cauliflower. For desert we ordered the butter cake and received the chocolate cake complimentary. Both desserts were played together with happy birthday written in chocolate, candles, and a side of cream. Coffee and tea service was great too. We all enjoyed our meal, thank you! :)

The overall experience was very mediocre, we arrived 4 minutes before our reservation and we had to wait an extra 15 minutes. The place is loud, our waitress was actually super friendly and helpful (she was the highlight of our experience there) Overpriced steakhouse with a very mediocre menu. Everything tasted as it should when it should have blow our mind for the price... one time and done...

Let me start by saying that going into Mastro's is truly an experience, and definitely a treat. The atmosphere is energetic, and the live music adds a nice touch that elevates the evening. That said, our server could have been more attentive. Our table was wobbly, and it wasn't fixed until we flagged down another employee, about 10-15 minutes after appetizers had already been brought out. It didn't seem too busy upstairs, with only a couple of other parties around, so it stood out that our server only checked in occasionally and often seemed in a rush to leave. Now, the food - shoutout to the chefs! The dishes were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. My steak came out more well-done than medium-well, but I suspect that was because I requested the butterfly cut and the hot plate continued cooking it. It would've been helpful if the staff had given a heads-up about that. I also found it a bit salty, likely from the steak resting directly on the seasoning on the plate, so next time I'll skip the butterfly cut. When you dine here, you're paying for the full package: atmosphere, quality ingredients, and exceptional service. While the food itself lived up to the hype, the service and small details kept this from being a 5-star experience. I'd like to come back again and hopefully give it a perfect rating, because that's ultimately what you're here for - the full, polished Mastro's experience.

Short Story: A somewhat good steakhouse at Valley Fair. Long Story: Full disclosure this review is for to-go. I came here on a Tuesday right when they opened. I had pre-ordered online and was ready to pick it up which was the 22oz bone in ribeye cooked medium rare. There was not wait time and I paid and was able to leave quickly. I quickly drove home and was able to enjoy my steak. However if you compare this to-go experience to Joey's then I can't give Mastro 5 stars. I also happened to get the rib eye at Joey's the same day, also during lunch, also cooked medium rare. The steak at Joey's was cooked better. In addition, Joey's threw in a free appetizer which I found pleasantly surprising. Therefore, if you evaluate Maetro's by itself there is nothing wrong. However if you compare it against other steakhouses such as Joey's, Felmings, or Alexander's I do feel it is a bit lacking. I've gotten to go at all these locations and would unfortunately rank Mastro's last. Verdict: I'll likely go to other places...at least to-go!

My husband and I celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary and made reservations at Mastro's for dinner. The restaurant called me the morning of to confirm my reservation, reviewed parking suggestions, dress code and asked if we were celebrating anything special. We arrived right on time and were seated right away. The hostess wished us a happy anniversary. Our server Brianna greeted us very shortly after and provided our menus with "Happy 15th wedding anniversary" printed at the top. She suggested a bread basket, with a variety of breads baked fresh daily, while we reviewed the menus. The bread was delicious. We each ordered a glass of wine and started with the roasted garlic black tiger shrimp. Also delicious. The shrimp is served head on and the portion is perfect for 2 to share. We then shared a French onion soup and placed our entree order. I went with the 6oz filet and my husband chose the dry rub rib eye. We share roasted brussel sprouts and scalloped potatoes. Everything was great. The soup had great flavor. Each of our steaks were cooked to the perfect temp and arrived on sizzling hot plates. Sides were simple, but good. We saved room for dessert. Brianna suggested the seasonal butter cake. It was SO good. It arrived on a large platter with a slice of their chocolate cake as well. Happy anniversary written in chocolate at the top. A huge portion of homemade whipped cream as well. We weren't able to finish it but it definitely was boxed up to go home. We had a great experience. The restaurant was intimate with a perfect noise level. Live music was playing as we arrived. Our server was very sweet, attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. It was our first time dining at Mastro's and we will definitely dine here again.

We came here for Foodie week and had the $39 prix fixe menu option. Most of us had the Caesar salad, with one if us having the lobster bisque. The Caesar salad was fine, though pretty standard with no extra flourishes like added protein, anchovies, or anything to make it special. The lobster bisque was creamier than normal - so quite rich. The hamachi and fried onion appetizer was pretty good. Very thin slices of hamachi and it was fairly salty. So tasty, but arguably over seasoned for my taste. Entree wise, the maguro lime roll was refreshing, but it was kind of soaking in an acidic type sauce, which would have gone better on the side to allow one to dip into the sauce to taste. Again, kind of aggressively seasoned, with less subtlety than ideal. The burger with fries was a good burger, with tomato, lettuce, all the fixings. The fries were plentiful and good. I would say the burger was the best thing - I personally enjoyed that the most. Service was fine - got a little busier, but they did come by a few times to check on us. No complaints there. Overall, even with the Foodie Week prix fixe option, this is a pretty expensive place for what you get in terms of food quality. It's good, but not really elevated or subtle with layers of flavor. More of an in-your-face aggressively seasoned approach that kind of satisfies to start with, but then you realize that it's a little less elevated and refined than you'd hope for at the price point. Restaurant itself is well decorated, though we sat outside. For the price, I'd actually tend to give it a 3.5. Considering just the food, closer to 4. So giving it the benefit of the doubt and just going with 4 stars.

Stopped into Mastro's for dinner with coworkers and had a great experience! No reservation, but was able to be seated promptly. Modern and open atmosphere, service staff was friendly and offered great recommendations- which was helpful as it was the first time for some of us. Started off with cocktails and helped ourself to bread service, which you have to do! The pretzel bread was amazing. Ordered a few items to share and pick at; Truffle fries, Shrimp Cocktail, Salads and Brussel Sprouts. Girl dinner at it's finest. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. We were celebrating an early birthday and was served a slice of cheesecake on the house which was a very kind gesture and was probably one of the better cheesecakes I've had! Loved the live music and semi open seating on the level floor, fresh air and live music is such a vibe!

Matros made our birthday dinner unforgettable. We started with salmon tartare, fresh and vibrant, followed by bone marrow that was rich and indulgent. The aged steak was the highlight, tender and full of deep flavor, cooked with impressive skill. The service was warm and attentive, making the evening feel special. The room was on the darker side and the curtains were drawn to block the sun, so the view was limited, but it created a cozy and intimate atmosphere. We look forward to coming back on a warmer day to enjoy dinner on the patio with the same exceptional food and service.

Came for a birthday celebration and the staff made it a point to make the birthday girl feel special from customized menu to complimentary desserts. Rack of lamb was tasty and the ribeye was delicious.

my first time here, i celebrated a birthday dinner for my date. it was an amazing experience and the service was perfect! we ordered the new york strip and kansas city strip with sides of cream spinach and mac & cheese which were absolutely delicious. also got the dream berry martini which was a nice and sweet cocktail the complimentary butter cake dessert was soo bomb and def a must try this place is great for celebrating special occasions!

Kicked off my big 3-5 right last year with a fancy schmancy dinner at Mastro's with the fam! We were seated downstairs, which was quite noisy next to the bar but hey, we had the pleasure of listening to a live singer & keyboardist. She was great! Ashley waited on us and was fun + informative. She took one look at our empty table before dessert and said, "where in the world is that butter cake?!" Service was excellent all around. I didn't realize the staff ladles out the shared side dishes, now that's prioritizing the customer! Eats: *Crispy Garlic Tuna Sashimi *Mastro's House Salad 1/2 portion *Filet Mignon 8 oz x2 *Alaskan Halibut *Herb Roasted Chicken *Lobster Mashed Potatoes *Truffle Butter Sautéed Wild Mushrooms *Sautéed Broccolini *Sautéed Asparagus *Roasted Brussel Sprouts *Bread Service Complimentary Birthday Dessert: *Butter Cake OR Slice of Cheesecake Cocktail: Tipsy Flamingo, heavy on the raspberry. It was a bit too strong + sweet for my taste. Truffle butter mushrooms were amazing! Went so well with the butterflied filet that they pan sear in butter. Lobster mash =) Staff comes round handing out chopsticks for sashimi & sushi. Fresh & tasty tuna topped with fried garlic slices. Gotta love halibut! Squeeze on some lemon and add dabs of tartar sauce. Roasted chicken almost seemed fried with its crisp exterior. Mastro's house salad is dressed to the nines with a cream based dressing, ham, shrimp, bleu(?) cheese, & greens. We ended the night with vanilla ice cream topped butter cake, drizzled with strawberry sauce. This place is definitely meant for special occasions and they treat you like kings & queens. I'd make a second floor reservation for those wanting more of a quiet atmosphere. First floor's popping with drinks & good vibes. Thank you, Mastro's, for a grand birthday celebration!

Stopped by here on a whim, and was absolutely not disappointed. The cocktails were excellent and the food was great. The service was great as well, and I liked the attention to detail they paid. The live music was nice, not too much, so we were able to have a conversation.

First off, I have a bad habit of not taking photos when I'm at fine dining establishments but trust me everything about Mastro's is exquisite. I'll begin with why this is getting four stars instead of five. Although the meal and service was impeccable, the layout of the restaurant was a little strange. We were in a room in the corner with two other parties and it wasn't the easiest to find. The room would've been better in between the wine cellars because that confusion led to several in our party to get lost. On to the food and service. An absolute 5 out of 5. They definitely measure out the rack of lamb before cooking because it did not feel like 22 ounces. There were slight inconsistencies in the cooking, but overall it was incredibly. The sides were delicious but the best was the mushroom gnocchi. For anyone having some hesitation on the sides, they ONLY use beef tallow for sides that need to be fried. Mastro's definitely feels upscale and fits right into the vibe of the area. I wish it was somewhere with better parking, but that won't stop my wife and I from coming back for a date night.

The food was good and our server was nice but everything took really long. I'm not sure what the issue was because the restaurant wasn't that busy. It took 45 minutes to just get bread and drinks and waiting more than an hour for the entrees. Spending 3 hours and a lot of money for inattentive service and just good food isn't worth it with so many great options in the area.

Went to Mastro to celebrate Father's Day after hearing good things about this location! Unfortunately, it's everything you would expect from a lower end chain steakhouse. Steak was too chewy and lacked a lot of flavor. There was also so much fat on the steak that wasn't rendered off. It made around 20% of the whole ribeye inedible. Sides were overly greasy and doused with so much butter. Obviously the pricing is pretty steep as well for it being a steakhouse.

I was excited to return to Mastro's Steakhouse during my visit to Santa Clara this weekend, especially with a good friend joining me for a long conversation over a great meal. We were fortunate to have Rushawn as our server, and he instantly made an impression. Warm, gracious, and incredibly attentive--he told us from the start his job was to make our night perfect, and he lived up to that. We did run into a few hiccups, none of which were Rushawn's fault. I ordered a Belvedere martini but was served a dirty martini instead. Easy fix, and a quick re-do. For dinner, I planned to order the bone-in ribeye, but Rushawn recommended the larger Ribeye Chop Chef Cut for just $10 more--and he was right, it was excellent. We probably overdid it with the sides: a baked potato for me, garlic mashed for my friend, and brussels sprouts (which came with a surprise $15 upcharge for steak bacon--worth knowing in advance). The only real disappointment was the baked potato. At $15, I expected fluffy and tender. It arrived undercooked. The replacement? Same issue. Rushawn took care of it and comped the dish without hesitation. To make things right, he surprised us with a complimentary warm butter cake--and it may have been the highlight of the evening. Absolutely delicious. As I told Rushawn, things can go sideways in any restaurant--it's how the team handles it that defines the experience. He handled everything with professionalism and heart. A first-class server and a big reason I'd come back.

Me and a few friends visited Mastro's for a late lunch during foodie week and it was such a vibe! We decided to sit outside since the weather was perfect, and honestly everything from start to finish was amazing...the view, the ambiance, the service, the food, and the drinks. Special shoutout to the bartender because I don't know what magic they worked into that lemon drop, but it was hands down the best I've ever had! This visit was definitely different from my usual evening dinner experiences here....and I kinda loved it even more!

Mastro's Steakhouse is a well known and popular chain with locations throughout the United States. I've been fortunate to have been to a few locations and it's always a great meal with generous portions, ample seafood and meat options (USDA to Japanese A5 Wagyu) and with great service. The Valley Fair location is a popular location but I'm not a fan of the mall due to the paid parking (which isn't validated) and how far the parking is to the actual restaurant (unless you valet). Came here for a date with my boyfriend because we'd heard nothing but good things and we love a good steakhouse dinner - Forbes Mill is our go to place so we had to give this place a try! We started with the bread service, then had the bone marrow, got filets (rare) and shared the baked potato and asparagus. We also had one round of drinks. He had a martini, I had a prickly pear mocktail. The bread was good, I liked the diversity. The bone marrow was good too; the small salad that came with it helped cut the richness of the marrow. The steaks we ordered rare - which our waitress confirmed with us that they'd be pink throughout with a cool red center. We cut into these steaks and they were more like a rare you'd expect to see in Europe. Cool red pretty much throughout. Could we have sent them back? Probably. But they were still good, just a lot more rare than either of us were expecting. Generally though something we noticed is that the food seemed just a tad under seasoned. Everything just needed a bit of salt. The sides were good, nothing special to really report on. For the drinks, my boyfriend said his martini was overshaken and he didn't really like that it was served in the shaker. While the perception is that you're getting more cocktail, it's really just watering down your drink. He said his drink started off overshaken, and when someone came to pour more into his glass, they shook it even more, thus watering it down further. My drink was very good, but our waitress never asked if we wanted another round of drinks, not even before offering us the dessert menu when we had finished them. They had a singer/piano player that was nice. Overall the food was decent but I don't know if we'll be back. Maybe not on a Saturday night when details like that have less of an opportunity to fall through the cracks.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and we ordered a steak to share as well as their lobster mac n cheese, cream corn and one of their sushis. Our waiter was good, attentive and friendly. Had great recommendations as well. The steak that we shared was cooked the way we like it, we liked the cream corn, weren't the biggest fan of the lobster mac and cheese, wish it was slightly cheesier. Their sushi was different but not terrible.

Let me preface my review with this. I am a sushi and sashimi connoisseur. I made a slight error choosing what I picked at a steakhouse. I came here for a special occasion lunch, and was puzzled at first about where the enterance was, I thought it was upstairs where the large sign was . Anyway, you're here for the food. Bread is to die for, don't fill up on it. I got the hamachi with toasted onions, amazing! Presentation could use a little more color like edible flowers or clover. Garlic mashed potatoes, yummy but nothing exceptional. My Shirley Temple, amazing. Dessert? The cheesecake with in house whip cream, 5 stars for the dessert! The poke bowl was just tuna, now here's is where my 3 stars come in. Presentation? GORGEOUS. Nevertheless, my rice under the fish was very cool and dry ish. Yes, you read this correctly. Now, I assume the rice should at least be at room temperature to balance the fresh dish, if I'm not mistaken. This didn't feel in line with fine dining. No, I was not expecting hot rice as that alters the texture of raw fish. My recommendation is to ensure rice is at a proper temperature to ensure guests' flavor experience is more pleasant. Furthermore, the rice to fish ratio was like 20 percent fish and 80 percent rice, a little disappointing. The punch in the gut (pun intended?) was the stomach ache I had later in the day. I have an IRON STOMACH, nearly NOTHING wrecks me. Spicy food? Nah. High acid food? Nope. This poke bowl specifically, yeah. I never get stomach aches; so this is a testament to this dish. My recommendation to you, dear reader? Get the steak. Don't order raw fish from a steakhouse. Leave the seafood to King's Fish House a few doors down. Ambiance, elegant. Be sure to dress cocktail or somewhat nice to match the vibe. Service is five stars hands down. Please know service is great, kind of like Alexander's. I was happy they packed my food to go for me.

First time at this Mastro's Steakhouse. Made a reservation on OpenTable and I was able to get the date and time slot that I wanted arrived a bit early for our reservation and we were seated right away. The two young girls at the front counter greeted us and then escorted us up the stairs to our table. We were seated at a table with the view. Our server came over, introduced themselves and asked if he wanted to order any drinks, we looked over the menu, ordered some drinks, some appetizers and chose our entrées. DRINKS Lemon Drop Loved the presentation with the dry ice and the smoke coming out of the glass. Our server shook it up and served it tableside, which was a great presentation of the drink pour. He also left the shaker and kept filling my martini as needed. I would say it was maybe about 2 1/2 martinis, but no complaints here. It was prepared perfectly and tasted great. It was so pleasantly refreshing and delicious. Chocolate Martini The chocolate martini was also served tableside, and the shaker was left at the table and refilled as needed. The presentation of the martini was pleasantly tempting to the eye. The taste was amazing. It was so good. It almost tasted like a chocolate shake. Appetizers Roasted Bone Marrow $30.00 I was excited to try the roasted bone marrow, however, it fell short. This appetizer came with two bone marrow servings on a bed of greens with capers and cheese. It was accompanied by some toasted bread pieces. Scooped up the bone marrow and some greens and tried it. Took my first bite and it wasn't what I expected. It was a little bit bland. Added a bit of salt and and it was a bit better. When I saw the size of the bone I thought we would be getting more bone marrow than we actually did. It was an OK appetizer. Next time I will pass on the roasted bone marrow and try something different instead. Heirloom Tomato & BurrataCheeses $22.00 The heirloom tomatoes came in red and purple, and they were cut in fours. Burrata cheese was a good portion to accompany the tomatoes. The heirloom tomatoes and Barada cheese was drizzled with dressing. It was the perfect amount not to over power the tomatoes and cheese. The salad was just OK because it wasn't actually a salad. It was more in my opinion an appetizer because it was just tomatoes and cheese no greens. Will pass on the heirloom tomatoes and Burrata cheese and try something different next time. ENTRÉES Filet 8oz $64.00 The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. Cut into it and took the first bite and it seemed to just melt in your mouth, it was so good. It was flavorful it was juicy and it was well seasoned. Really enjoyed the steak and I would order this again. Bone-In Kansas City Strip 180z $73.00 The hubs went with the bone in Kansas City strip steak and it really good and flavorful. It wasn't dry at all. It was prepared well and it was well seasoned. It was very very good and it had a little bit of fat on it, which is always a little added flavor. The portion of the steak huge so we had some leftovers to take home. Lobster Mashed Potatoes $45.00 The lobster mashed potatoes did not disappoint. They were buttery and creamy with lots of lobster bits in it. The lobster mashed potatoes is one of my favorites. I tried it at Mastro's Steakhouse in Las Vegas and I was hooked. Dessert Cheese Cake The cheesecake was good and flavorful, and I liked that it had a thick graham cracker crust. Coconut Butter Cake The coconut butter cake was really good. It had two layers of butter cake and it was covered in coconut. The cake was moist and loved the coconut flavor on it. It was a good portion enough to share among three and we still had some to take home.

what a wonderful experience! It was our daughter's birthday and she was treated like a princess.. we had an excellent host/ server.. definitely a 10/10! Jorge/George was simply the best!

I have been 3 times already! They have superb service. The food is delicious. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating. Service was wonderful especially from Evan and Jesse. Mastro's is the best steakhouse in the Bay.

Wonderful personalized Birthday celebration for our dear friend. Evan was our server, he was great with making sure we all had good experience. He catered to our birthday girl which made her feel very special. All the servers were so friendly and down to earth, one helped my daughter with her words with friends game lol and Jesse at the end of the night helped pack our goodies to go . So nice of him. 1st bread basket free, 2nd $5 - panna Water glass bottle $10 each - bone marrow appetizer 10/10 - lobster bisque 10/10 - house salad 10/10 -shareable sides White cheddar mac cheese 8/10 Sautéed mushrooms 6/10 French fries - (daughter) 10/10 Scalloped potatoes. 9/10 -Steaks *bone in filet All 10/10 *porter house. *dry aged rib eye We each ordered cocktails & wine - martini glasses with extra cocktail in the shaker so 2/1 really Butter cake for our celebrant . 10/10 Pricey restaurant but Would def visit again for another special event.

I want to start by clarifying that I'm not the kind of customer who announces it's my birthday expecting something free! With that said, my friends reserved a table at Mastro's to celebrate. The menu and food do compare with Fleming's, but the service is clearly below that level. The food was fine, nothing extraordinary, and certainly not worth the price. What left me truly shocked was the so-called 'birthday detail.' A staff member approached the table, wished me happy birthday, and handed me a menu page wrapped in a ribbon with the restaurant's name on it. A menu page. That's what they consider a celebratory gesture. It was, without exaggeration, the most impersonal experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Whoever is responsible for customer experience or marketing needs to rethink their strategy, because handing someone a menu as a birthday gesture is not only meaningless, but it also actively damages the impression of the restaurant. That small, careless decision overshadowed the entire evening. Everyone at the table was stunned into silence. In the end, what stays with you is not the food, but the lack of thought and authenticity in the experience.

This is an overdue review of our past two experiences at Mastro's. Our first time here, we had no reservation and waited about 40 min, but got an exceptional bar low top table and enjoyed the live music with our incredible meal. The service here is top notch, wait staff ensures you have everything you need at all times. And, if you're ordering cocktails, they will ensure to keep you topped off. Second time here, we had a reservation and sat at a bar high top table. High top tables are not generally my favorite, but it was hot and we were by the open doors. Ended up being a great spot to see the drinks being made and enjoyed live music again. Both visits we shared and enjoyed the Chefs Cut ribeye. Plenty of steak for two adults. The lemon drop cocktails are basically buy one get one free as they give you the shaker and there is always another full round - plus they pack a punch. We have also ordered the wedge salad, prawn appetizer, scalloped potatoes, white cheddar Mac n cheese, broccoli and a few other things. All incredible! We will for sure be back soon.

We were there to celebrate a birthday. Food is ok. Portion is sizable, asked for the remaining food to be boxed to go but discovered after we got home that they put leftover bread into the box and didn't bother to include half of my rack of lamb. For a restaurant as expensive as this and demanded 20% tips. This is a big let down. 1 star.

I sat at the bar and was lucky enough to be served by Chris Lopez, who completely elevated the evening. Chris isn't just a bartender he's a true professional who knows how to create an unforgettable dining experience. His recommendations were spot-on, his cocktails perfectly balanced, and he made everyone at the bar feel like VIPs. Especially with those top notch Old-Fashions I ordered the Bone-In Ribeye and Lobster Mashed Potatoes, and both were phenomenal. The ribeye was cooked to perfection perfectly seared on the outside, juicy and tender inside, full of that rich, buttery flavor Mastro's is known for. The lobster mashed potatoes were pure indulgence creamy, decadent, and packed with generous chunks of fresh lobster. It's comfort food elevated to fine dining. Between the outstanding food, the refined atmosphere, and the world-class service from Chris, this visit set a new standard for what fine dining should be. If you're visiting Mastro's in Santa Clara do yourself a favor and grab a seat at the bar with Chris. You'll be treated to incredible drinks, top-tier hospitality, and a memorable night start to finish.

I visited this awesome restaurant two weekends ago! First time and I was not disappointed! My sisters and I were there to celebrate God's Goodness on our life journey. The Greetings, the kindness the welcome was top tier! Oh my we were overwhelmed with the kindness, service, compassion that Michael and Tiffany gave to us thru out our lunch experience. I can go on and on about Michael & Tiffany absolutely loved the incredible service. We were like they treated us like family. My sisters and I were so comfortable! The service was amazing, the food was incredible delicious. We had lemon drop cocktail, lobster roll, pasta, prawn cocktail, burgers, and more. Our names were personalized on the menu, the trio of desserts. This lunch I tell you was top tier! First time and will always dine at the San Jose location across from Santana Row. Oh I forgot to mention Hector awesome sauce! If you want a top tier experience and folks that show you how to be treated at a dining establishment run to Maestro's! Thank you Michael, Tiffany and Hector! Well done!

I really want to like this place, but unfortunately I left feeling a bit disappointed. Let me start off by saying the restaurant itself was beautifully decorated. I went at night for dinner - the setting was dim and there was a live performance with someone playing the piano and singing. I absolutely loved the ambiance of the place. Our server was very friendly. I did not get her name, but she was attentive and always made sure to stop by our table often to see if there was anything we needed. The food, however, was extremely overpriced for what we paid for. I already knew that walking into the restaurant, we were going to spend a lot of money, but we left feeling a bit underwhelmed. As soon as we were seated, our server asked if we would like some bread to start with. She did NOT mention that there was a charge, so it would have been nice to know. Our old fashioned was great. No complaints. We received our sautéed sea scallops and I was a bit taken aback by how small the portion was. Three pieces of bread and a few scallops for $60 was not worth it to me. We also ordered the lobster mashed potatoes. This I enjoyed and they did serve a big portion. The server mentioned there was 1.5lbs of lobster in this dish, but it seemed less than that. For the "chefs cut" rib ribeye, our server said this is the most tender cut of meat out of the menu, but it was a little chewy and we weren't too impressed. Overall, the food was just okay and I'm not sure if I would come back.

Stopped in for a weekday lunch. We checked in and were seated within minutes. The dining room felt spacious at first, it did start to fill up during our time there so I'd imagine during peak hours it might feel a little more crowded. Service was consistently pleasant from the host stand to our server, Jeff, and the runners. We ordered from both the Foodie Week and regular menus: bread service, lobster bisques, burger and fries, a bone-in ribeye with bone marrow butter, broccolini. Everything was cooked well and tasted great. Portions are generous; we finished with coffee, skipped dessert, and still left with neatly packed leftovers.

We had a great experience at Mastro's Steakhouse! Our server Chris "CJ" was amazing, knowledgeable , outstanding, and hilarious !! CJ put us on with the trio of butters and my wife absolutely loved his service! Would definitely come back and request him as my server!

The ambiance was perfect, with live music downstairs that we could still enjoy from upstairs. As an appetizer we got Appetizers the Shrimp cocktail & maguro lime roll (both phenomenal) For the Main Course, we got: Porterhouse steak (absolutely to die for), Lobster mac & cheese, Sautéed mushrooms Dessert is the one in the picture--I don't remember the name, but it was just as amazing as the rest of the meal!
