Masuda

"The wooden counter is owner-chef Yoshichika Masuda’s stage. Like a skilled conjurer revealing his tricks, Masuda demonstrates the techniques and traditions of Japanese cuisine he honed during his days at a ryotei. The hassun is especially attention-grabbing. The sculptured beauty formed by ingredients from land and sea is a study in the coexistence of light and shade. The attentive service and the sight of his training his apprentice shines a light on the future of Japanese cuisine." - Michelin Inspector

Wow, I gotta say this has been probably the best meal of my life. Came here for lunch and had their set menu. Around 7000. Really it's hard to describe in words how incredibile the food was and the attention to details. The staff was also super friendly. Thank you so much

We had our first dinner in Osaka at this place. We had an exceptional dining experience. The food was delicious and you can really tell the ingredients are of high quality! Also, all the staff were very attentive and friendly.

I reserved this venue ahead of my trip to japan, as it’s difficult to get a dinner seat here. I had their omakase menu, so I got to sample many different dishes and styles of cooking. Really attentive personalized service as you have virtually a personal chef serving you. They even provided books with pictures and descriptions of what i was eating which was such a special touch. Language barrier exists but you never feel uncomfortable. To me this felt like a once in a lifetime experience and so well worth it. Glad I got t experience masuda.

Michelin starred Omakase kaiseki menu, with a crab focus when we visited in the mid of February. A tiny restaurant on a second floor at a side alley in the popular shinsaibashi/dontobori area. The food was so fresh and delicate. We sat at the counter and every course was prepared in front of us. And of course as a kaiseki ryori, the presentation of food and the plates/dishes used were wonderful. Since we are foreigners, there was an electronic translator prepared in front of our table even before we arrived at the restaurant, and the staff used it to explain the food to us although they were very limited in English skills. Don’t forget to order sake if you can drink, they have many different and interesting ones to offer with the food!

I had lunch. Lots of amazing dishes. it was so good that I asked how to make one of the dishes. One of the sous chefs? cooks? looked at me like I am a total idiot. Yes, I know I can not imitate you. but it would have been better if he was nicer. The place was filled with older women looked like having fun while their husbands at work working hard for them... but still food was good. I would love to go back and try the dinner menu. reservation is necessary.

Decent food, but i was expecting to have more drink options for wine than red/white/champagne. Ended up sharing a bottle of Moet with my family which I guess is ok but not much more
