Where to Eat at the Grand Canyon

"If you don’t have the energy to change into nice clothes and sit down for a formal dinner after a long hike in the Grand Canyon, head to Maswik Pizza Pub inside the Grand Canyon Lodge food court, order a few slices — or a whole 16-inch pie — pair it with wings, bread sticks, and a draft beer, and then collapse for the night. Maswik Pizza Pub offers seating for those who prefer to enjoy pizza at an actual table, but ordering a supreme with pepperoni, sausage, ham, mushrooms, peppers, olives, and onions to be consumed in your tent is perfectly acceptable, too." - Krista Diamond, Janna Karel

Google
They have different variety choice of food! Good place to go with family. We ate at the pizza place instead. They didn’t really wash the lettuce, there were some dirty ends and brown leaves inside. The dressing is too salty. They sale a lot of beers, might want to over seasoning the food to encourage the alcohol consumption. The pizza crust was kinda burned, but overall it was tasty. The service is not very good, waited a long time to be seated, not much of service to be provided, the waitress simply expected a lot of tips with an attitude. Not a very pleasant experience. Maybe the food court is a better choice, since no need to carry the burden of tip and attitude.

Google
Like really who takes care of this place ? It is looks like it take from 1 month shelve storage reheat and put on plate. Tasty? You kind find out, it is taste like nothing… no flavour, no smell, no salt nothing. Bottom of it is fallen apart because the some smart put sauce and heck of a avocado on too of it and on top of this mess he put a patty. Also i order a hotdog which meat I assume made from some cheap scrap , it not taste good at all. Fries not so bed. But overall doesn’t change it. And also pay for it 20$ , really ?

Google
After a 4 -5 hour hike we were really hungry the every first food station (Deli) offered deli sandwiches that too make your own types. Brit was there behind the counter and with her help I got mine absolutely vegetarian scrumptious Veges filled sandwich. It was yummmm happening place is this. Every where tourists around talking about their grand experience of mesmerising canyons.

Google
I've never ordered a burger and had the worst part be the burger patty. Lettuce and onion was pretty, guac was good too, but the bun crumbled and the patty akin to the trail etiquette on Bright Angel Trail (sad). I feel for the poor girl who ordered two parties and nothing else in line in front of us. The fries were good. And the price is too damn high.

Olivia C.

Google
We stopped at this food court two days in a row because their prices were better than the other lodges and we enjoyed the cafeteria style. I don’t recommend the chicken tenders or Southwest burger, but the taco salad (huge!) and the Fettuccine Alfredo were pretty decent. For the taco salad and pasta, plus a soda, the cost was around $35.

Google
I was at the American food court they made the hamburger and put it off on to the area they put the food together and didn't make the fries at the same time. Then they had to put the hamburger patty back on the grill to warm it up and put the cheese on it they still hadn't made the fries for it, then they put the cheeseburger on the serving table and called out my name. I said to them, "I ordered fries" They said, "Well, we're making them." So, I stood there while my food got cold. Finally, I said "Enough," and I grabbed my cheeseburger and paid $9.75 for it. They had no lettuce, they were out, they said. I don't intend to eat at this place again.

Meenakshi B.

Google
Good spot to grab a meal. They have a variety of options available, from salads to pizza to burgers. The quantity is good and complete value for money.

Lesley J.

Google
Lots of options in this food court--sandwiches, salads, pizza, burgers, BBQ, pot pies, etc. Stopped here for lunch. You can catch the Red Line shuttle bus near here. This was part of the Blue Line shuttle bus route. We did the Orange Line in the morning, took the blue to this Lodge for lunch, and then did the Red Line. Great day at the Grand Canyon!

Yelp
After 3 days of hiking and camping pizza was in order! The service was efficient and friendly. Our pizza was tasty, not a chewy crispy NY crust but the sauce and toppings were very tasty.

Yelp
My friend Te-See B. and I were famished as we arrived at the Grand Canyon in the early afternoon. After some touring, a shuttle ride and walking around aimlessly for a few minutes we finally found some place to eat. There were plenty of choices in food and we both selected the Taco Salad. I had black beans, chicken, cheese, lettuce, salsa, tomatoes and sour cream. The meal was hardy and I chowed down. It wasn't the best taco salad but it was satisfying and gave me the energy I needed for the rest of the day. Seating is cafeteria style and not a lot of frills here. Food is a little expensive but you are in a national park so I expect that it's going to be costly. Service was self serve and not crowded at all.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
We were so impressed with the Maswik food court. We came to the Grand Canyon on spring break and it was ridiculously crowded. We stopped at this food court starving at dinner. They had choices to fit everyone's dietary constraints. Soup of the day was clam chowder, and very good. The taco salad was excellent! Choices of brown or white rice, different beans, grilled veggies and traditional toppings like lettuce, tomato, salsa and guacamole. I loved the cooler of IPA's local to Arizona. Loved the Hazy Angel, kind of a peach undertone. Everyone served themselves up cafeteria style and was happy. Plenty of seating in the dining room. They also had a pizza pub in separate area, we didn't visit. Plenty of dining options and less crowded/

Simon C.

Yelp
The food was great LOTS of vegan options. I can't say anything about the non-vegan food. The service was alright nothing to right home about. A little pricey but what do you expect for being a place for tourist.
google avatar

Chelsi B.

Yelp
Inside the Grand Canyon, this food court is overpriced as expected. One slice of cheese pizza is $4 and burger/fries were even pricier. My husband got a slice of pepperoni, a cheese burger, fries, and a drink. I got 2 cheese pizza slices, and a drink. Despite being expensive it was better than some of the overpriced zoo food I've been offered in the last couple years. We both finished our meals and were full so that was also a plus. If you must order food while in the Grand Canyon, I would recommend pizza because it was tasty.
google avatar

Darleen P.

Yelp
Food wasn't too bad. The deco is cute. Cafeteria style food. Vegetarian options. Unlimited drinks.
google avatar

Nadine C.

Yelp
Pizza pub. Bill came to $40 for the worst pizza ever. Sparsely covered with cheese not even melted. Worst meal I've not eaten in years. Great service and clean.
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
Cafeteria style served food and food court with a few different menu options. We chose the bbq, it was decent and tasty enough to finish my whole plate. Mac n cheese & cornbread sides were good. The food was worth the price because we know that they use profits to renovate the Park facilities for guests.

Jenny P.

Yelp
If I could leave zero stars I would. We dined at the pizza restaurant. The server came to take our order, delivered the drinks, and only came back with the check. He passed by our table several times, but we had to ask other servers for water, boxes, everything. We were told we HAD to ask him for the check, so he passed by several more times before bringing it. He was friendly and helpful with both of the other tables he serviced. Then the pizza. It was even less than what we expected from this kind of mass production establishment. The "beer" cheese was nacho cheese. They also had none of the local beers listed available and had replaced them with more expensive options. I would skip this pizza restaurant and just go for whatever the rest of the food court has to offer.

Yelp
Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - came here after climbing out of the canyon so we think anything and everything will taste great at this point! Penne Pasta with Marinara Sauce and Meatballs with a slice of garlic bread. The sauce was a little sour and the noodles were overcooked. It was warm rather than hot and the serving was quite small. The garlic bread was great though as it was soft in the center and crunchy along the crust! Supreme pizza dough was initially pretty good in the first few bites but it is a bit doughy along the edge. It also was warm rather than hot. And for some reason they charged us $3.75 rather than $3.50 as posted... Went back a second time for Chili Cheese fries were hot and fresh so there was about a 7 minute wait for it. The fries were great but the chili was quite salty Ambience: 5/5 - when you walk past the check in area, there are 4 counters with different food and services. It's well spaced and clean. Once you check out, there's a large dining area with clean tables and some holiday decorations. Very warm inside! Lots of employees wandering around Service: 5/5 - friendly and attentive. Not the fastest service but we got what we asked for Value for price: 3/5 - some grab and go options and some food on the hot plates. Not the best food but good for some warm options.

Yelp
While the Maswik lodge and hotel rooms are great the Maswik food court leaves a lot to be desired. They charge exorbitant fees for very little food in both quality and quantity. Their dinner choices are limited but they have a few different options if your normal typical cafeteria style foods such as BBQ, pizza (slice or whole) and deli sandwiches. The pizza by the slice is about $5 per slice and they are fairly small pieces. The breakfast choices are extremely limited and unless you like carbs you won't find too much else. They had one omelet choice which was a pre-made item...they don't make it for you fresh. Everything is already pre-made. All around the food choices at Maswik were pretty poor...I would definitely go somewhere else within the park if you're looking for decent not pre-made food that's been sitting under heat lamps for hours.

Yelp
Review is for Pizza Pub. This was the worst, most bland pizza I've ever eaten. I'd rather eat the overly processed square pizza that was served in public elementary schools in the 90's.
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
So far so good. I loved this so much because it is the first place (I've seen) to offer the Jackfruit "pulled pork" sandwich. It was saucy and a great substitute for the real thing (which Dave had). The cornbread square was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. I loved it. Dave had the real pulled pork and said he'd order it again. If you're hanging out at the Canyon and want some good food, go ahead and try the food court. There's something for everyone. And we both recommend the pulled pork: vegetarian and meaty. Good. Good. Good.

Yelp
There are two places here the Pizza Pub and the Food Court. Only vegan/ plant based dinner/lunch option in the court is the salad bar. No premade vegan sandwich options, not even pbj. They really could do better by offering more vegan breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Pizza pub has vegan cheese, but this place has what is possibly a premade dough that they just warm up the toppings on so it's like a toaster oven pizza. It was edible but not great. Our non-vegan family members felt the same way about their pizza.

Yelp
This little gem was quite a surprise. It's cafeteria style so the ambience is not amazing but it's comfortable. The food was really really good. The service was friendly and fast. I will definitely go here again with my groups in the future.

Yelp
Great for a family of picky eaters since there's a bit of variety but the food here is less than spectacular. They do have grab and go which would probably be your best option. We had dinner and breakfast here. My daughter got the pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were so incredibly hard and cold she couldn't eat them. Bacon was good though. My husband and I got the breakfast burrito which was ok. My son got the waffle and it was made infront of him and nice and hot. It's plan waffle so nothing extra unless you want butter and syrup. For our early dinner the day before, my husband and I got sandwiches made. There was no one at the station so we just stand there and wait until someone comes. The one slice of my bread was hard on the outside. They don't put any mayo or mustard on it you do that after you checkout. The lettuce is salad bar lettuce. My one slice of cheese had been left out uncovered and you could tell it was drying out as it was darker than the slice beneath it. It's cafeteria style so grab what you want then go pay. Breakfast here was better than our early dinner the day before but I still wouldn't highly recommend this place. Take the bus down to the general store and grab something there instead!
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
This place needs to bring in new vendors you might find at a real food court. The food is OVERPRICED, overly salty (probably due to being canned), and about as lifeless as the servers. They acted like they were being forced to work there. Meats were in warming trays all day and salted or slathered in BBQ sauce. Salad was half wilited with no toppings unless you spend extra. Not what you would expect at the Grand Canyon.
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Food was not worth the price. Facility was at least clean. If you want more bang for your buck go to the Canyon Village Deli at the General Store 4 minutes away.
google avatar

Mary B.

Yelp
I am not convinced they served me chicken thighs! I should have gotten concerned when I saw the server dipping the meat in juices. The thighs were not dark meat, maybe white meat cut in shape of boneless thighs? And that meat was dry! Mashed potatoes okay, not hot. Cornbread was dry. No coleslaw available. Chicken taco dinner with beans and rice.... Corn and beans with this meal were not hot. Thank goodness for our oak creek amber beer!

Yelp
Ok, so a food court, this is not. There are only 3 options. At least for today there were 3 options. Option 1: Over cooked Tri-tip with dry Mac and Cheese and decent mashed potatoes. Option 2: Mexican food, that looks like it was made in a elementary school cafeteria. Option 3: Pizza in a box, that looked worse the a home made Digiorno Pizza. For all the money the Grand Canyon makes from tourists that was the best options that were available, SERIOUSLY..! I know there are several other places to stop and eat at. 1 place won't take any parties of more then 4 people. The other 2 had lines out the door and people were waiting for over an hour. I saw a lot of "Hangry" people running around. Com'on GC, step up your game and put a few more option for your paying visitors and you will see you park elevated to another level. Last but not least, lower you damn prices. I paid a pretty good penny for some over cook tri-tip smothered in BBQ sauce and desert dry Mac and cheese.!

Yelp
This review is for the Pizza Pub - and the Pizza pub only. I can't speak to the other fine dining options at this cliff side cafeteria. To me, the upper echelon of the feed lot food chain is to be seen in all its glory. Glare on from afar with your binoculars at hand to witness a momentous occasion. As any tourist, you must let Mother Nature present before you. Take only pictures, leave only footprints. Today, the offering before us is a birth of truly unholy origins. Mountains of sliced pepperoni, peaks of canned pineapple interwoven with jalapeño shards stacked higher than any pizza pie served thus far at any F. Harvey establishment this side of the wild roaring Mississippi! To you I raise my beer, upon the ashes of the old Maswick Employee bar (RIP) and salute thee with an offering of the gods, to which Mr Harvey would truly appreciate. Cheers and Salût.

Yelp
Ambience. It's your typical food hall experience (college like). Tables and overall atmosphere was clean. I ate lunch there and had the salad bar. It was a bit pricey ($15), however it was really large and 2 people could prob split it. They had a kale mix, mixed greens, spinach, and romaine. You could choose a variety of proteins (I choose the chicken and hard boiled egg). It was very tasty. We brought outside stuff for breakfast like cereal and other nibbles which might be the best option (based on other peoples review). It was nice to eat on the picnic tables outside of our room and enjoy the nature.
google avatar

Jo M.

Yelp
This is a good bet for quick fast food in the National Park especially when you can't get a table at the other horrific restaurants in the area. Burgers and pizzas were pretty decent and big portions. Better than Harvey Cafe. Anyway, if possible just don't eat in the Canyon as it's atrocious and an embarrassment to the country with so many international visitors. Really needs a serious overhaul and some good independent restaurants like in Flagstaff.
google avatar

Yelp
An extra star because the service was friendly during our stay. The food court itself is really nothing to talk about-it's basically a mall food court and clearly is the 'quick-serve' option for the South Rim. During my visit the options were reduced but growing. The grab-n-go was open but hot food option was available as well. I was in the mood for something hot though and their menu had pork enchiladas. The person behind the line seemed excited with my choice as well as the side dishes I got. It get excited about my food and it's fun and affirming when the people giving me my food are excited as well. I will say the food was...well it was pre-made and put on steam trays until someone comes along and decides to get it. Fine for thinks like the black beans I got as a side, not so good for the enchiladas that was their special the night I went to eat there.

Ayan B.

Yelp
This place was great, they gave such huge portions, I don't know if it's because it was night with no crowd, but it was super filling. All of the food tasted really good except of the pizza I got there, the bbq pulled pork, deli sandwich, and taco salad tasted absolutely amazing. I was able to get my food quick and I was able to get to my seat fast. Honestly it is a great place to eat food with your family.

Jonathan L.

Yelp
For a food court/cafeteria in a National Park expectations should be tempered. It's not a five star experience but considering where you are it was surprising good for us, especially after reading some of these reviews. The value, the quantity of food, and the service were good. Helpful staff. We liked the make your own salad, though the staff actually makes it based on your choices.. Pizza was decent. Other hot food entrees were acceptable, good portion size. Cappuccino/Hot chocolate machine was popular for those cold nights. We spent a couple hours there everyday for our three day stay and looked forward to being there each time. Roomy and open space, good for kids and families, especially after a long and tiring day at the Grand Canyon.

Judy C.

Yelp
The Maswik food court had a variety of foods on offer. We ate there for four meals and were never disappointed. I can highly recommend the pizza and the taco salads.
google avatar

Patrick C.

Yelp
Went here on a trip to the Grand Canyon. The food was actually quite good. Had a Roast Beef Sandwich and a pizza from the food court. The sandwich had fresh ingredients and was made to order. The pizza was made fresh and took 15 to 20 minutes as a result. The food court is quite nice with a very nice open seating area. We had no problem finding somewhere to sit and share our feast. This location is a bit off of the beaten path and as a result you won't wait long for your meal. I highly recommend checking this location out on your next trip to the Grand Canyon.
google avatar

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Make sure to check out the pizza pub! Say hi to spicy he makes the BEST cheese pizza and the customer service is so welcoming I really enjoyed my server Isabelle
google avatar

Vinod K.

Yelp
During our 3 day trip to the south rim - this was out to go place for breakfast. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, and self made waffles (yum) are a must to have. For dinner we tried out the pizza place and has reasonably priced several choices of vegetarian options. As compared to California, the prices were so reasonable... I was left double checking the check to ensure they hadn't left out chagrin for any items in our order! Huge shout out to Xanterra for one of the best national park dinning experiences.
google avatar

Helena W.

Yelp
The only reason this place is not getting 1 star is its location. I'm sure it is hard to keep up with the demand of a NP. Took more than 30 minutes for the food to come out - and sadly my pizza was cold! The quality was comparable to a gas station. People around us complained about their hot dogs being cold too! My husband gave up on his burger after that 30 min wait all together. The pros - there is ample seating and it's warm.
google avatar

Linda E.

Yelp
We ate lunch as a part of our Grand Canyon tour. The Mexican buffet was very good. Guacamole, ground beef, salsa and other fillings tasted good and were of sufficient variety for everyone to create their own lunch. I'd go back to eat here.
google avatar

Dan W.

Yelp
Had a great lunch here as part of our tour. The food was fresh and hot. It was Buffy style with a server for the plates. The space was quiet and clean.

Jimm W.

Yelp
Honestly the food here is definitely not Michelin rated. But you are not here for cuisine. You are here for the view of the Grand Canyon. Within those parameters it's perfectly fine. It's better than any mallcourt. Salads have fresh greens and no iceberg lettuce. The Tamales are large and have a generous pork fillings. The sides (Spanish corn, black been and Spanish rice) where ample and with a little Chiluli, tasty. Their pizzas in the pub are fresh made and have all the trimmings. For the circumstances this really is a good bang for the buck.

Anna I.

Yelp
So convenient and empty during low season. Salad bar was fine but my kids tenders and pizza were just okay.
google avatar

Chris F.

Yelp
How can humans be in the Grand Canyon for a millennia and not figure out ways to have plentiful, tasty food options sprinkled around the park to feed the million or however many tourists. It can't be that hard. Is this the bureaucracy everyone is talking about? So much red tape the food options are practically nonexistent? It's a cafeteria, food fine but expensive for what it is.
google avatar

Travis F.

Yelp
Just ok. Typical cheap cafeteria food. Weird spongy scrambled eggs (full of bubble voids), and cold pancakes. Bacon was nice. Was nice to have a place to go without leaving the park, but wouldn't be my first choice the next time.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
We were camping in the Grand Canyon and decided to eat out one night before our sunset bus tour. We went to the pizza place inside of the food court. Service was perfect, pizza and drinks were great. It also was reasonably priced. Casual atmosphere.
google avatar

Josephine T.

Yelp
If you're looking for the cheapest option amongst all of the overpriced options, this is your best bet. Very basic food, no frills. Coffee wasn't hot but if you're at Maswik it's the closest option you have. If I had to do it over I would have taken the shuttle to the market and just put together all my own meals.

Dave D.

Yelp
Please fix the chairs in the pizza pub. A nail in one of them ripped open my $130 hiking waterproof pants. Food was decent and staff was nice.
google avatar

Dawn E.

Yelp
We didn't realize there was a pizza pub option when we walked in. It was a long day, so it was what it what, right? The chef salad in the cooler looked fresh. Grabbed two of them with drinks (over 25) and sat down. This was the moment we noticed the pub and that we had failed. Oh well, we dig in. The first layer is okay. Then we get to a lower layer. And this one is BAD. It's as if they plopped new items on top of an old salad. A soppy soggy gross mess. Don't do it.
google avatar

Jacquelyn R.

Yelp
For a buffet line, it was very well put together. The fajita meat was very tasty, and I loved the chicken tamales. If this place wasn't included in our tour package, I would most definitely choose this place to eat. The servers collecting the used plates were helpful and friendly. The eating area was well spaced for our tour group.

Michael A.

Yelp
Took the family here late after hiking because we were staying at Maswik lodge. If you are not staying at Maswik lodge, have other options, or aren't extremely frugal like us, I'm not sure why you would go here to eat. There are limited options and everything is pricey for a family of 5 on the rim, so this was the fastest and most convenient option. If you aren't picky then this place will get the job done, but if you are looking for ambiance, service, or great food, this is not what this food court was designed to do.
google avatar

Richard W.

Yelp
Everything here is under semi-COVID wraps - order at the front and they hand you the food in to go boxes but you can choose to eat at one of the tables in their cafeteria style seating area. Fried chicken box 2 pieces - either two thighs or a drumstick/breast. The dark skin reminds me of KFC, just not as salty, and a little overdone as you would expect most mass-produced operations, and not the biggest pieces either. BBQ pullled pork sandwich Think school cafeteria here - nothing close to a homemade slow cooked barbecue. I have a hard time pulling the top bun off for a pic which leads me to believe it was frozen at some point. Nevertheless, it is what it is and if you're hungry, you won't care as much. For each entree you get a choice of two of the following, served in *small* plastic containers: coleslaw, potato salad or pasta salad. Coleslaw seemed to lack carrots or anything of color for that matter. Potato salad is pretty regular. Pasta salad was good - there was actually a fresh piece of broccoli in mine and the colored fusilli breathed a little life into a dull meal. So the "food court" isn't exactly a place where you can select from different eateries ala shopping mall style. Or maybe it was, and it's been scaled down due to COVID.
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
We were staying at Maswik and I would say this is one of the only options in the park for casual breakfast and dinner. Having said that, the food was ok, not great. The pot roast on our last night there was really good and would have gotten more. What it needs most of all is more variety. The food for lunch and dinner was basically the same durring our stay, but I expect it to be better during busier times. The girl who served our food for dinner was super nice and recognized that our kids were splitting a meal and offered us an extra plate. I wish I had service that smart and kind at some of the sit-down places we visited on our trip. It was certainly above expectations for cafeteria service.
google avatar

Channon H.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for lunch before we left the Grand Canyon. They had several employees working, but they weren't really friendly or helpful. The dining area was clean and the food was okay.
google avatar

Ann K.

Yelp
Perfect stop for our family! Three of us had the taco salad with chicken. Quite tasty! My other son had the brat which he also said was good. A decent selection of beer, wine, and hard cider.
google avatar

J N.

Yelp
Food selection was a bit limited but probably the most you'll find in terms of fast food service. They offer pizza, taco salad, pork tamales, ready made sandwiches, and a deli I believe but no one was there to serve at the time. Canned drinks were priced a lot higher than the self serve soft drinks which were all you can refill which was good for me because I like to drink a lot. Tamales were not that great because the meat was really compacted. I liked that they used eco friendly straws but was surprised that they didn't use eco friendly plastic utensils. There was a decent sized dining area. Since there are no major franchise eateries around, this was a nice place to go. You can also book some excursions in the complex and there is a nice gift shop there as well.

Momoftwo R.

Yelp
This is the worst food courts or restaurants I've ever eaten in! The dinner foods and the breakfast was disgusting. We were a party of grandparents and teen grandchildren. We threw away most of our meals. Everything was worst than a school cafeteria. People say that it's difficult to feed masses of tourists quality food. I take exception to that. We went to Disney World with the same group. Prices were less and the food was at least 4 star quality.
