"Match Point Brewing began between friends with a penchant for tennis, and now that brewing business has blossomed into a taproom located in Albany, next door to burger restaurant 310 Eatery. Expect beers influenced by Asian flavors, such as a Vietnamese coffee lager or a jasmine rice lager, appropriately named “Tiebreaker Series.” The taproom also hosts events such as Mahjong Mondays and trivia night on Wednesdays, if you’re looking for a side of activity with your beer." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
10/10 friendly and would make my weekly spot if I lived closer. Normally you expect non-involved service at a brewery, but was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and engagement from their staff and the attached restaurant. Food and beer was delicious. Will be back 100%

Awesome locally-owned AAPI brewery with unique, Asian-inspired brews. Passionate, welcoming owner building community! Major bonus points for partnership with 310 Eatery, which serves some of the favorite burgers of all time!

Joseph Long

Google
310 next door serves fantastic food right to the bar. Full burger menu! Super fun to try the flights as they come out with new ales. Local beer on tab. Good vibes.

I really enjoyed this brewery! I came in for their Monday mahjong event where the owner Simon will teach you how to play (Simon, please buy a new set of dice). Really interesting beer selections: I got a Jasmine rice lager, also sampled the hojicha cream ale and Vietnamese coffee nitro). One patron purchased an apple cider with a shot of apple soju... twice! Great ambiance, there were some regulars who came by to watch sports on the TVs. As the name indicates, it's a tennis themed brewery. Fun, casual, not too loud spot that seems like a nice place to turn into your regular hangout if you live close enough!

Google
Good beers, good vibes, great service. What else can you ask for? Went for trivia night this week with quite a crowd and had a fantastic experience. The bar space was bright and airy, the Olympics were on, and the beer was cold. Mix of house beers, with a special focus on lighter lagers and rice beers, with some outside taps. Everything my group tried was tasty, and it's a fresh set of flavors. Service was friendly and very attentive. The food next door is very nice as well.

Google
A great emerging space that deserves to have a full house most nights! The beer is quality (try the milk tea amber for a unique treat) and the 310 next door is great as a food option. I went to Wednesday trivia and had a wonderful time, although it would definitely help to have a dedicated trivia host if possible to avoid pauses in the game while beers are being poured.

Google
Matchpoint is awesome! Great bar with tv to watch sports, small setup to play games, and great beer for all kinds of tastes! It’s also connected to a restaurant next door with such a friendly staff that even catered to our vegan diet! Definitely grab a beer (and some tamarind fries) next time you are in the area!

Unique, interesting beers that actually taste good! Chai, hojicha, etc. Asian themed beers that aren't just different for different's sake! Guest taps too.

Yelp
Third time bringing my Wednesday guys group to enjoy good beer and good food (from adjacent 310 Bistro). Easily accommodates our group of a dozen and personalized service from both Simon (Match Point) and Gil (310) can't be beat.

Yelp
We won the match by discovering Match Point! My family took my Pop out here for Veterans Day. Overall, I was impressed by the drinks, food, and ambiance and would return. We came an hour before closing on a holiday, so the establishment wasn't busy. The brewery is spacious, with a plethora of seating (bar, tables, high chairs). There's fun tennis and sports-like decor plastered, perfect for the namesake. They also offer special nights, such as mahjong on Mondays, and are dog-friendly. The owner was friendly to chat with, happy to answer our questions, and checked in on us, which was appreciated. You order drinks at the bar. They primarily focus on lighter beers but also have cider, wines, etc. I don't drink beer, but as an Asian American, I still appreciate the influence of AAPI drinks (matcha, jasmine tea, Vietnamese coffee, mandarin orange). Creative yet familiar drinks are always something Albany needs! For food, they collaborate with neighbors at 310 Eatery. Since my family chose to eat and drink, the servers from 310 came over to us to take our order and bring our food out. We feasted on Shishito Peppers, Pier Fries, San Gabriel Belly Wrap, and Your Not So Ordinary Beef Noodle Soup. Everything was exceptional and paired well with the drinks--you can't go wrong with Asian food. If you have an appetite, I recommend ordering food with your drink. I enjoyed my experience at Match Point Brewery and the scrumptious food at 310 Eatery. I already know I'll be back to bring my dog and dine properly at 310. I highly recommend this quaint neighborhood gem to Albany and Berkeley locals alike. Since they're on San Pablo Ave., parking is limited to the street and neighborhood.

Yelp
Came here on Sunday afternoon because beer with dim sum sounds so good. We tried all the sampler beers and liked Vietnamese coffee lager & Hazy IPA. The owner was super friendly and nice, he made sure we have enough water, offer to change tv etc! The restaurant has tennis theme and they also host tennis tournament. The food menu was from its neighbor restaurant 310 eatery and also very friendly and great service. Although they are known for burger, their dim sum was best (even better than popular dim sum restaurants in South Bay!) highly recommend coming here for great beer and food!

Yelp
Drinks are good and friendly / quick service. Tennis themed brewery, but you don't have to be into tennis to enjoy! Activities: Mario kart, karaoke, and mahjong Go check this place out! :)

Mel S.

Yelp
Heard there was a bar with a tennis theme, so we had to stop by. For any lovers of tennis, beer, and / or karaoke, this is the place for you. Staff and Service: - The owner, Simon, is a really nice guy and has great recommendations for drinks depending on what your taste is Drinks: - Vietnamese Coffee Beer: tasty and would order again - Jasmine Rice Lager: unique and tasty - would also order again - 981: my new go-to drink at this bar. It tastes like a carbonated Yakult! And for the Asian Americans out there, you know that's going to be a fire taste. - Soju shots: soju shots are $2. Need I say more? Overall, exited to come back here. They have mahjong nights, and will soon have karaoke and trivia nights, so be on the lookout! They have an Instagram page, so you can stay updated!

Yelp
New brewery in the neighborhood! From their brews- the five spice saison is full bodied and has good depth of flavor. For something easy to drink, I recommend the mandarin wheat ale or the jasmine rice lager. From the guest brews- the pineapple cake is good! They also have a full service kitchen leveraging 310 Eatery- which means you can get anything from a burger to late night dim sum while you enjoy your beers. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
Cute and quaint little spot along San Pablo Ave, and it offers more than just a place to drink! I was happy to see that there was a mahjong table present in venue and that decor inside really fit the theme (tennis of course!). The spot is well lit and there's plenty of open space to just vibe with good company. Staff were welcoming and I was able to try the Vietnamese coffee lager and Jasmine Rice lager. Both were super rich and impressed me (I'm not much of a beer girlie, so this came as a shock). I loved that the drinks pulled from standard Asian flavors and found myself prefering the Viet coffee one. I'm definitely looking forward to visiting again because this place is just so convenient!

Yelp
Right through the front door, Simon greeted us. It was Veterans Day and I wanted to make sure that my family and I had some family time together and I would have my usual beer and celebrate my buddies who didn't come home from Vietnam and have a dinner that we'd be able to share wonderful conversation over and so I selected a bar that has an entry into a restaurant next-door, and the combination of the Tom made perfect evening. My daughter ordered a cider spritzer and I ordered the four pack sampler of beer to have with my food from next-door. This is under new management and it's really a nice location a good size place and it's somewhere where we could actually go on a date and it wouldn't be real loud. And you get the advantage of having wonderful food brought to you the entry in the wall. The beer was high-quality and it was flavors that I had never had before because they infuse Asian flavors into the beer, which is totally unique for this entire area around us. I have to say everything that I tasted was delicious. I would order it again, especially that last one I had the coffee flavored one the fourth one Yum. The place is clean and since it's newly opened word hasn't gotten out to this is a great place to go and you can watch your favorite game on big screen TVs around the bar or you can have a romantic quiet discussion at one of the tables. They also have limited outdoor seating.

Yelp
Excellent locally-owned brewery with delicious, unique brews and a welcoming, fresh vibe! I'm in town visiting my parents from LA, where new breweries are ubiquitous and tbh, often boring and repetitive. That's not the case here at all!! A lot of things have changed in Albany since I graduated, but this is one of the best examples of positive change that keeps the Bay interesting without washing out its distinctive, independent vibe. One of the owners (Simon, an Albany High graduate) was working when I visited for my second time, and he was wonderfully friendly, sparked a great conversation and was so kind and generous during my visit. This small business is next door to a delicious eatery (310 eats) which will deliver excellent food to you while you enjoy your drinks. They play tennis matches on the screens here, but also have Wii and other games available for play (super fun!) and will accommodate any requests you have for watching other non-tennis games on TV. They have mah-jong nights on Mondays, will have trivia nights and overall are absolutely one of my favorite breweries in California!! Do not miss this place if you're in the East Bay. 10/10 for me. Thank you, Simon!!

Yelp
We were in the area for a hike and decided to stop by after to reward ourselves. Haven't seen too many breweries with Asian-inspired flavors, and this one did not disappoint! We got their Grand Slam flight and I was particularly impressed by the Five Spice Saison. It was super unique with its distinct Five Spice taste. Will definitely be back when we get the chance!

Yelp
First time at Match Point Brewing today. What a charming spot! I had the mandarin wheat and my girlfriend selected the jasmine rice lager. Both were great! Simon, the owner, was very helpful and friendly. Glad to have found this new brewery here in Albany.

Yelp
The chef was beyond nice enough to whip me up some dumplings although they weren't serving them until dinner time. Thanks again!

Belle M.

Yelp
Great, unique beers , friendly staff. I highly recommend! You can also tasty food from next door!

Crystal T.

Yelp
Beer was delicious, and the food from 310 next door was a great addition to my late night snack. The owner Simon, and the servers from 310 were also super friendly. Happy to have another local bar to head to.

Kristine W.

Yelp
Made it out last night to catch opening night of Match Point, a new Asian American-owned taproom with Asian-inspired flavors and a tennis theme. What's more is that they have teamed up with the next door restaurant 310 Eatery to offer late night dim sum, sandwiches, burgers, and other fare. We tried the Five Spice Saison (excellent) and Pineapple Cake Hazy IPA (good but not as good as the former). Noticed that folks at the bar were eating dim sum--you can order from 310 and they'll bring it to you in the bar (easy since the two businesses are connected inside). This is a really big deal since late night dim sum is pretty hard to come by, so I was excited to try it out. We had the steamed char siu bao, which was solid...the rest were sold out (other items: ha gow, pork siu mai, lotus leaf steamed sticky rice cake, chive dumplings, potstickers...the classics). We also shared the fried chicken sandwich, which was really good as well. It was great to see so many folks come out to support this business on their opening night. The owners were at the bar taking orders and they were super friendly and welcoming. I really liked the tennis theme ... all bases were covered in this end with a screen showing matches on the Tennis Channel (along with two other screens showing sports) and a vintage tennis racket up front. They are also organizing tennis tournaments in the community (see photo)--another nice touch. So many unique and positive things to report about this place...you just have to go and see for yourself. Will definitely return to try more dim sum and sample more of their brews. Come out and support these Asian American brewers/restaurateurs at 310 next door. You won't regret it!

Sigifredo S.

Yelp
Very cool place to come and hang out with your pals while drinking their delicious jasmine rice lager and watching a game of tennis on the side. I also recommend grabbing a refreshing mexican coca cola with your food!

Despise B.

Yelp
Love the bartender and the beers!!! Simon (the owner and bartender) is seriously so friendly and kind. There is a mahjong table and even video game options. Their beer selection is amazing - I love the Vietnamese coffee one. The one thing that I don't really like though is the guy next door from 310 eatery... their food is honestly subpar and overpriced, but what bothers me is the owner keeps bothering every patron at the brewery. Most of the time, before Simon can greets his own guests who walks into his brewery, the guy would come in with his spiel and almost pressure people into ordering food. Yikes. I loved the old tap room which had their own food so this was a bit disappointing. I'll keep coming here though since the beers are amazing. Did you know they have tequila and fireball flavored soju shots??? Highly recommended!

Pam S.

Yelp
Interesting beers and ciders and shares a wall with 310 Eatery, the bestest place to have amazing burgers and other foods!!

Chris C.

Yelp
Great new brewery. They're contract brewing through Epic Ales for now. Had a sampler of all they had to offer so far. Impressed with their beers, especially the Vietnamese Coffee Dark Lager. Stop on by for a pint or two.

Jessica T.

Yelp
I like that they draw inspiration from Asian flavors; the Jasmine Rice Lager is one of my favorites. Their beers go great with the food from their partner, 301 Eatery. Service was great all around and there's plenty of seating, so it was a great place for my friends and I to get together.

Kenny H.

Yelp
Awesome place. You love to see cool people doing cool things. Ambiance was great, service was great, beer was great. Would definitely recommend checking this place out and hanging out before/after a good tennis session!

Tony Z.

Yelp
New joint. Solid brew. Neighbor has great grub. Worth a visit. Big fan of helping small business with a good grasp at beer!

Ali Z.

Yelp
I really enjoy the combination of drinks, sports and dim sum since there isn't really anything else like this in the immediate area. The location is convenient and the beer selection is unique.

Geline C.

Yelp
Cold beer, warm ambiance. Excellent lagers and nice all around selection of brews. Welcome to Albany!

Anh N.

Yelp
I had tried a flight of their beers and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the Five Spice Saison. Owners are great and my group and I even got to participate in their sports trivia. Love the theming and they even use tennis rackets for their tap handles! Will be coming back again!

Noel K.

Yelp
Immaculate vibes, delicious fries, outstanding service. The energy was addictive. This is a place the main characters meet at weekly for the breakdown, the hot goss, the tea. Definitely recommend dropping by if you like beer with a laidback atmosphere.
