I recently visited this place for the first time with my son. Since we were new, we ordered a few drinks, dango, and ice cream to try different items from the menu. The food itself was great, but unfortunately, the service left a bad impression.
The cashier, a young man, was very polite and friendly, and I have no complaints about him. However, the woman handing out the orders was extremely rude. She called out names for each order, and when ours was ready, I went to pick it up and simply asked why there were only two dango in my order. I had ordered two portions—one for myself and one for my son.
She immediately snapped at me, saying that I had only ordered two pieces, not two portions. I politely responded that I thought the portion included three pieces, as shown in the menu picture. Instead of explaining calmly, she rudely told me that the picture was just an image and that I shouldn’t pay attention to it.
I still didn’t fully understand, so I asked if two pieces were considered one portion. At that point, she became extremely rude, raising her voice and telling me that if I wanted more, I should just order more. She seemed very irritated and overwhelmed, but that is no excuse for speaking to a customer in such a disrespectful way.
I understand that perhaps I misunderstood the portion size, but I asked a simple question in a polite manner and was met with aggression. She was clearly frustrated, but someone with such an attitude should not be working in customer service. The experience left both my son and me feeling very uncomfortable and shocked.
Honestly, we have never experienced such terrible customer service anywhere in the U.S. before. It was disappointing, as the food was great, but I don’t think we will be coming back
