My friend and I got the osmanthus matcha and yuzu matcha! Both drinks were so flavorful and refreshing!! My drink was the osmanthus matcha, which had osmanthus tea with a matcha foam on top. It was the perfect amount of sweetness for me, and I thought the balance of both flavors in the drink were harmonious. My friend got the yuzu matcha, and said that they couldn’t taste the matcha very well, but I thought you could taste it! It’s more gentle tasting in that drink though—the yuzu is more forward than the matcha for sure. I would definitely buy either again, but am looking forward to coming back to try their other drinks! Please note that the only thing customizable so far is the milk. Everyone (including my friend and I) ordered from the kiosk. There are seating spaces with small tables, but when I got there (around 11am), only 1 table was available after someone had left. There might not always be space for you to sit down, so a grab-and-go may be a better option for people who come to visit!

so good!! really exceeded my expectations. My friends and I all got a strawberry matcha and we were all shocked how good it was. I would love if they added a cream top matcha latte!! And please expand to San Jose!

i think there’s room for improvement but overall a great spot. minimal seating inside, but there’s electric plugs. not sure if there was wifi. i got the ube matcha and hojicha latte. the ube matcha was good, well balanced i think, not too sweet. my strife is with the hojicha latte. it was very sweet. the description when you order it at the kiosk didn’t mention it would be sweetened, and with cane sugar at that. i hope in the future they can make the drinks sweet level customizable. currently in the order kiosk, nothing is customizable except for the milk choice. i would have preferred an unsweetened hojicha. also i’d say maple or honey sweetener works best for this tea butttt

We were lucky to catch them during the soft opening. We ordered at the kiosk, one ube matcha. They were all one size. You can choose cow milk, oat milk, or almond milk. Vegan milk is $0.50 extra. The drink was served fast and was delicious. Not too sweet. No bitter or tart taste of match. But after finishing the drink, I found that half of the cup was filled with ice. That is quite expensive for a $8 drink. To my pleasure, they kept playing kpop music.

This is the best Matcha I’ve ever had. Not overly sweet and hits the spot! My wife loved her strawberry so much she licked her cup clean 😆

Idk how their other drinks are but the banana matcha was more like a smoothie. Thick chunks of banana that I was basically eating, it was weird. Also this is not so much their fault but there were a lot of high schoolers there being obnoxious, taking a long time to order, etc

Genuinely the best mango matcha I’ve ever had! The matcha cream in addition to the matcha compliments the drink so well! :)

This is a good matcha place that's super close to campus. The matcha taro has real taro at the bottom and wasn't overly sweet. The matcha kumquat drink was also quite good and refreshing.

Yelp
This place has great drinks! The matcha is delicious. I got their matcha drink with mango. There's plenty of seating inside as well. The only downside is that you can only order through their kiosk which went down temporarily due to running out of receipt paper when I was there. Also maybe I just had bad luck but they didn't have any AC so it was really hot inside, but I was just getting my drink to go. I would make sure their AC is working if you decide to hang out there. But if you like high quality matcha, their drinks are great!

Yelp
Berkeley has so many new matcha spots, but please skip this one. Out of all the options, Matcha Matcha has been the worst experience for me and my friends. We came in as a group and tried a variety of items on their menu, hoping to find something good. Since this is supposed to be a specialty matcha store, we expected higher quality. Unfortunately, the drinks were disappointing across the board. The matcha itself was not the vibrant green you would expect but had a dull, yellowish color that immediately signaled lower quality. On top of that, the milk-to-matcha ratio was way off. The drinks were more like flavored milk with a faint hint of matcha rather than the bold, balanced flavor you get from good matcha. We also tried their fruit matcha drinks, including the strawberry and mango options. Both were sour and had an unpleasant acidic aftertaste that lingered. To make things worse, two of my friends actually felt sick after drinking them, which says a lot about the quality and preparation. The portion sizes were another letdown. The cups are small for how expensive the drinks are, making the overall value very poor. When you combine that with the disappointing flavor, strange aftertaste, and questionable quality, it is hard to justify coming here at all. Overall, Matcha Matcha feels overpriced, underwhelming, and poorly executed compared to other matcha spots nearby. If you are looking for good matcha in Berkeley, I recommend checking out one of the many other cafes in the area instead.

Yelp
My husband and I have been on a matcha kick lately, so we were excited to see de matcha's (rebranded from matcha matcha) soft opening pop up. I got the Matcha Duo and my husband got the Banana Matcha Duo. I'm not necessarily a matcha connoisseur, but I imagine tasting the slight bitterness and grassiness means that they don't skimp on the matcha. I appreciate when my matcha drinks aren't overly milky. My husband really enjoyed his banana matcha duo as well. Would go back to try their other drinks!

Yelp
My sister and I loved the matcha. We are not from the area so we drove pretty far but was worth it. Good matcha.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place, and it was super cute inside. Unfortunately, the matcha was one of the worst I have had. You can't adjust the sweetness levels and both the matcha latte and matcha with coconut water tasted like straight cane sugar; I could not drink it. The service was really great though and the staff was very nice.

Yelp
Their matcha latte is really good. If you like the lattes at Cafe Maikos you'll probably like these. The flavor is strong and not watered down or milky.

Yelp
If this place can get consistent on the sweetness of their drinks, it's easily one of the top Matcha places in the Bay Area. My hands down favorite is the Matcha Duo, the matcha really comes through! I have had it a half dozen times and sweetness was perfect 5 out of 6 times. I do have to say, the real/best Matcha spots in California can do matcha with no sugar, that's unfortunately not something they can do today so when I'm not up for the sugar, have to head to the other delicious matcha place around the corner. It's great to live in Berkeley!
