Matchaful

I tried the Vanilla Zen from their creative latte section, and it was absolutely delicious—flavorful and crafted to perfection. I loved that I could customize my drink to my liking. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick, making the experience even more enjoyable. Alongside their lattes, they offer small treats and other goods for purchase. I highly recommend this café for anyone looking for a flavorful matcha experience with great service! Will go back to try other items on the menu.

Love Matchaful! As someone who is opting to lessen caffeine (coffee! Love it so) and turn towards a little gentler intake, visiting Matchaful and having a matcha lemonade made upon request is great. Love their soft serve too and the granola is super yummy!

I’m a bit of a matcha snob and this place did not disappoint! I love how many different variations they offer. From the different types of milks to the add ons, there are so many options. The cacao loaf is also spectacular.

I had the Strawberry Matcha Latte, and it was absolutely delicious! The perfect balance between the sweetness of the strawberries and the earthiness of the matcha made it a unique and refreshing drink. I highly recommend trying it if you’re looking for something new and tasty.

First time trying this place based on the reviews and I was disappointed. I asked for matcha iced latte with milk and cold foam. At the first, the matcha was not sweet which I liked, however the after taste was not good. I believe the matcha was not done with milk, as requested, since was extremely watery. Overall was not a good matcha and the foam didn’t add anything to the drink, after a few minutes was completely gone.

I adore matchaful, the baked goods to the prepped oats and of course the matcha lattes. I adore the earth glow or just a vanilla iced matcha with maple syrup. I love how chic and clean and warm the store always is. I’ve been to matchaful dozens of times and it’s always consistently a great high quality and clean ingredient based latte like I’d make at home :)

The first time I went the guy was super sweet and made the best matcha. Went back a few days later and it was a different guy and girl who were more interested in talking to each other. I ordered the same drink and it tasted so terrible I had to throw it out.

I enjoyed the ambiance of Matchaful! I swung by on an afternoon and it wasn't too busy, so I didn't stand in line. In fact, I found that there were so many interesting options that it took me a while to choose! I ended up getting the Oishii Berry Matcha Latte which comes with oat milk -- not an issue for me. I've seen this brand of strawberries in stores (they're like a dollar a strawberry), so I wasn't surprised when the drink came out to $10.50, but it's definitely not a price I'd want to swing every day. The matcha was good quality and the latte passed the "not too sweet" test with flying colors. There isn't a ton of seating but I was able to grab a table outside and chill for a bit. If you want to sit inside, there's a long table with stools on either side for folks to sit at. Overall, I wasn't blown out of the water but I would come back if I'm feeling like I want to treat myself.

(Overall: C) - I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte which was elegant in presentation but unpleasantly sour where sweetness was expected from the mango. Given that the matcha already adds earthy bitterness, this acidity was not very welcome. Their menu consists of a large number of conceptually interesting items like this, but I'm not sure if the result would end up better than this "signature" drink. Honestly, kinda mid. Prices are decent for NYC. Customer service kinda lacking ngl. The straight matcha was basically matcha-flavored water. The oat maple matcha was... okay, not bad but not good. The hazelnut houjicha latte had Ferrero Rocher vibes but, like, sugarless. Also the space is tiny, maybe 8 seats max.

I was hoping to try their matcha soft serve but unfortunately they were sold out! I tried their matcha latte instead with oat milk and maple syrup, which was good on initial sip but overall was bland with a weak matcha flavor. I bought a tin of their hojicha powder to try at home and also found the flavor to be on the lighter side compared to other brands. Still glad I was able to try Matchaful, just maybe will adjust my ratios for lattes at home!

I was lured in because of the matcha + aesthetic but left feeling indifferent. I heard good things about the oats so I grabbed the Matcha Sunflower Butter Oats and then the Koyo Berry Cold Foam Matcha. $20 later I felt the oats were okay, very simple in flavoring but a nice healthy option if you're on the go. The matcha was high quality but had no flavor despite the berry cold foam. I was only able to drink it after adding agave syrup. Price - 3/5 (so expensive!) Food - 4/5 Matcha - 4/5 (with syrup)

A cute lil matcha place! They have so many different options for matcha - I just got an iced matcha latte with oatmilk (they only have plant-based milk options), and it was rich and creamy. It was around $7 but a good size. My drink came out so quickly. It's pretty small inside, but there are several seats. There is wifi but no bathroom. Next time I come I'll try the soft serve!

I'm surprised that Sunday afternoon around 6:20pm, I was told it's closed. They kept door open and never let me use the bathroom. However, 3ppl went inside 3min after we left the store. (1 male and 2female) Wait.....The young boys said "we were CLOSED. We have to lock the door!!!" What a lie. They can do whenever they want? I hope the owner read this. I told them that I'll write a review for it. They both said "ok, fine" and both put thumbs up with SMILE. What a attitudes! I was the customer here. 1 young boy said that "Go to the blank street" I wasn't a customer. I was the customer at this location. I'll not coming back if I don't hear from the owner's comment. This 2 boys said "yes please complain... fine...(smile) " 7/21/'24 (Sunday) I personally want to $ back. If the service is awful. I don't recommend here at all. *We returned from yesterday, (sat) They put too many ice cube to the drinks. Over all, 1star. I've attached proof of the payment today and got a point.

I ordered a matcha cold foam and was left disappointed as the matcha flavor was not very strong and was overpowered by the oat milk. Especially after the ice melted, I could hardly taste the matcha

Cute matcha bar located in this section of soho, featuring clean and glam matcha drinks with healthy ingredients. Great service, friendly staff, great drinks. Delicious matcha and I could really feel the difference it made in my day.

matchaful soft serve ($$$ yes) might be one of my favorite foods. the matcha drinks are also v good and high quality, I'd recommend sticking to the classic matcha latte unless ur adventurous (and loaded) lol

I love how interesting the menu is! very unique flavor combinations and a wide variety of options to choose from. the matcha isn't very strong, at least for the Vanilla Zen (Calm) and Earth Glow (Beauty/Antioxidant Power), it was on the milky/diluted side. but it was relatively smooth so if you like a more subtle matcha taste, you would like Matchaful.

Matcha quality is a on the above average side in NYC. I've tried other better options out of state. It's not so impressive to me. Matcha drink is on the pricy side which tasted very powdery. The flavor is too rough and not blend well. But the interior design looks very 'spring' feeling which I'd rate for two stars at this time visit. Will try other items next time to compare.

Awesome ambiance for morning matcha! Love the menu and the names of all of the delicious options they have. They have outdoor patio (temporary) and small but ample seating inside. Very cute vibe, friendly staff, and the matcha is definitely flavorful. Great walkable location if you're in the area.

Very tasty matcha latte and I enjoyed the expansive choice of milks you can choose from. Staff were efficient and friendly. The place was tiny, but they packed in a good few tables. The price was high, but it is matcha and it is soho....

My favorite matcha in NYC. Blends of drinks and snacks are original and healthy. Today, I had the koyo berry matcha latte and the matcha/vanilla ice cream, both were excellent. Comfortable ambiance too!

As a no-coffee-matcha-drinker this is the best matcha in the city and worth the price! Also love the matcha brownie.

The new location replacing the canal street location. More comfortable with a nice bathroom. Loved the taro soft serve! Always consistent, high quality and refined sugar free!!

I've walked past this place so many times and was dying to try it but the matcha was so bad We tried two of the new speciality strawberry collab and a classic matcha and all three of them tasted like water. for matcha that was so expensive i really wanted it to be better but it was some of the worst matcha i have had in the city

My grandson helped me make this account I am a bit too old for this stuff. I just wanted to express my deepest concern. This is weighing heavy on my heart! I am disgusted with this location. The last wonderful lady manager was so sweet and wouldn't ever allow this place to become so horrible. This location won't last long, it saddens me because it will never be the same. I don't even want to buy from this place anymore.

love this place the staff is extremely welcoming and knowledgeable with any questions about matcha. The atmosphere is very home like an it feels like home away from home. Banana bread is my fave taste fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend this place it's amazing staff and the music is great I can get work done in a cool atmosphere while having a matcha!

Delicious drinks, you pay a premium but we'll worth it. Not overly sweet which was my preference!

Creative matcha lattes, I ordered a Cacao Dream that wasn't too sweet with a hint of chocolate. Not really worth the price ($10) but I heard their soft serve is delicious.

I've been to couple Matchaful locations and the drink is always "premium" for the price. However this location may just be too new with untrained staff. The drinks are sometimes rich in flavor and hot then next one is watery and lukewarm, so far it's been just a cup of warm water for $10+ dollars consistently, but the ice cream are decent tho. Overall Would not recommend.

I consider myself to be a matcha connoisseur and have traveled across NY and the world. I did not order the matcha latte, simply because they do not offer whole milk, which is confusing. It's great to see all the alternatives they offer, but this should not be as a complete replacement to whole milk. Cafes across the world, especially in Japan, make their matcha lattes with whole milk, so that was the first concern for me. I did purchase a matcha brownie, and it was honestly not bad, but it wasn't great by any stretch. I understand this place is vegan, but I think catering to all audiences in search of an authentic matcha experience would be more ideal.

my absolute favorite place. i have been here everyday for the past week. the best matcha. the employees are the best also. after the third day the employee recognized me and it totally made my day. the store is very cute and clean as well. 10/10
