Booked a Saturday night dinner. Four people. Atmosphere inside is pleasant however the tables are so close you’re practically sharing the evening with the table next to you. Wouldn’t recommend sitting outside unless you’re keen to sit near show pony,South Yarra social wanna-be’s. Felt like the rejected cast of desperate housewives frequent the front seats.
The wait staff were short, blunt and to the point with limited charm or presence. The menu pricing was an eye opener. Steak was $85 and came with absolutely nothing on the side. Potatoes (which were dramatically over cooked and dry) came in at $18 per serve. I’d question the 250g serve tbh. It looked shy of 250g.
Oyster were fresh, as one would expect. Octopus was salty but tender. The cauliflower, at $38, was over priced and nothing special. The spatchcock was okay, little bit of a kick in the sauce but nothing to write home about.
Overall, not somewhere I’d go back, not somewhere I’d recommend. But guessing by the show ponies sitting out the front, this place survives on locals which pretend to have money but only have poor taste.
