Matjoa House Korean BBQ

We had gone to their former location in Clearwater and weren’t impressed at all. We decided to try this new location, and they have genuinely turned things around. Super friendly service, good,food and terrible k-pop music (j/k). We were impressed and quite happy that we discovered a new legit Korean restaurant in Tampa. We will return.

FOOD IS AMAZING!!!!! I come here often and everyone else should as well. The food is partially devoured so please excuse this photo but we just couldn’t wait. I ordered the Korean Short Ribs, Cheese Corn, and Japchae. Highly recommend this dishes. This food is beyond delicious and the staff is so inviting. The short ribs are perfect thickness, slightly saucy, and has a nice grilled taste. The cheese corn is not overly cheesy and has a beautiful crust. The japchae has the perfect ratio of meat and veggies with a well balanced sauce. An honorable mention should also go to the banchan but mostly the spicy fish cakes, which are the best I have ever had. The portion sizes are worth the prices. Simply put….COME EAT HERE. My family and I are so happy we found this place. We pretty much come here twice a month and try different dishes! We have yet to be disappointed. The service is friendly, place is clean and quaint, the food has a lot of flavor, good portion size, and is always hot and delicious!!

The absolute best Korean restaurant in Florida. I’m extremely picky when it comes to Korean food cause nothing is better than mama’s cooking but this place makes me feel like I’m back home. Truly authentic food and you can tell there’s not a single corner being cut in the quality of the ingredients. It’s so refreshing to finally have a place in Tampa where the owners treat you like family and cook up some good food. I recommend going daily in order to try every single thing on the menu.

Every dish is a hit — from the short rib and shrimp to the bibimbap and dumplings — everything is packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. (Ask for their cowboy butter when grilling shrimp — you’ll thank me later!) I highly recommend the All You Can Eat – Option B for the full experience. The service is top-notch — Alvaro takes great care of guests, and owners Joe and his wife are truly some of the nicest people you’ll meet. Fantastic food, amazing atmosphere, and genuinely kind people — can’t wait to come back!

This is the place for spectacular Korean BBQ. I could probably write a sonnet about the house made kimchi or jopchae; but then the bulkogi and spicy chicken would be left out. Just try it ALL and write your own love song for the best food (in my opinion.) This is where I come to celebrate. Exquisite food and refreshing cocktails from their full bar. I will ALWAYS return.

One of the most authentic Korean food around this whole Tampa area. Hot, fresh ingredients. We got a variety of plates and they were all flavorful and rich.

We’ve been going to Matjoa for the last few years and we’re so happy that they relocated closer to us in Westchase! We got the tofu stew and it was very delicious. The AYCE Kbbq is also great here. Can’t wait to come back again!
