⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Matito’s Tex-Mex Review We stopped into Matito’s for a late lunch/early dinner and had a great experience from start to finish. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and right on time with everything. I ordered the Taco Trio, which came with one fish, one pork, and one brisket taco. Each one had its own flavor and texture, and all three were fresh and well-seasoned. My guest had the Chile Relleno with added fajita chicken and beef, and it was a hit—loaded with flavor and topped perfectly with queso. We also tried two of their house margaritas, and they did not disappoint—cold, strong, and just the right balance of sweet and tart. Overall, Matito’s delivered a solid Tex-Mex experience with great service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

We've been to Mattito's many times and we enjoy their food. I had breakfast tacos for dinner but wife had enchilada's. My in-laws had taquitos and enchilada's too. We all had a drink, the majito was refreshing.

1st time here... Celebrated our friends 80th Birthday. The appetizers were great, but the mini fried bean burritos were my favorite! Yum... Chips were fresh and crispy, salsa was good too...We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and will be back to try more. Before closing comments.. Robero, (our waiter) is absolutely a top notch waiter! He is so spot on...attentive... And greets you with a smile.. In a large party as ours, he noticed and acknowledged every new face as they sat down. We didnt have to wait on drinks, service, food or anything...this man is amazing and I have to say he is a huge asset to this restaraunt.... He definitelly earns his tips! KUDOS TO ROBERTO ...I will definitely look for your seating area next time we come back! Warn regards, Tina Studdard

I had a cheese enchilada with chile con carne on top plus beans, rice, chips, salsa, and perfectly sweetened tea for about $14. Delicious! Brought half home. Waiter superior and filled my ice tea glass 3 times. The chile was pretty spicy, as was the salsa. Perfection. Hostess was appropriately kind to this single, senior diner. I didn't have a margarita this time, but highly recommend them!

We were a party of four and all ordered different entrees and everyone really enjoyed their meal. I would say that mine was the best, I ordered the steal and enchilada plate and the steak was seasoned perfectly and so delicious. The enchilada was very good as was everything on the plate. I had a glass of Chardonnay and it was really good and a good pour. We had the guacamole for an appetizer and it was so tasty and fresh. Our server, Mary was so friendly, helpful and hard working. We will definitely go back.

This...this was done right from the moment we walked in the door. Seated with no wait, ordered a Mojito which had to be one of the best ever, I ordered Pollo con molè which was exquisite! Chicken was tender, molè was so flavorful, the charro beans were packed full of flavor and not to mention the cilantro lime rice 😋. We finished off with sopapillas, but the best highlight of this entire evening was Jose! Jose was attentive, helpful, and so friendly. Food was great, atmosphere was great, but Jose was the cherry on top of a perfect evening out for my wife's birthday.

Good food and atmosphere. I had the tacos Al Carbon. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Chips and salsa were good, just the right amount of spice in the salsa. Would definitely come back again.

The chips had a soapy taste. I googled it and said it could be stored close to chemicals or improper handling. Improper cleaning, rancid soapy taste from cooking with old oil, repeated consumption of rancid fats may increase long-term health risks (oxidative stress, etc.). Maybe even, too much lye. Anyone, everyone? Let them know. I had take out chips. Who knows how old they may have been. The service was great and the rest of the food was, as well. And just in case you are thinking about it, no, I am 100% sure it isn't Covid or genetic.

Horrible because of your manager not listening. So cold I was shaking. Mark needs to be replaced. You are loosing customers. Got a head cold my last two visits. Manager is non compliant. I understand he is a personal friend of the owner. So there........

Ambience is nice and the food was delicious. Moses was a great server and recommended tasty drinks. Would definitely come back!

Jose is an excellent waitstaff! Wonderful food and drink! The Best Green Hatch Chili Queso. We took it and chips home!

First time eating here and as an avid Mexican food eater I can say this place is extremely tasty. Endless chips and salsa. Great fajitas and enchiladas. The service was quick and friendly. Multiple TVs and they'll accommodate if there's a certain game you'd like to watch. Definitely will be returning!

This restaurant is super cute and is near the hospital, so we stopped by after a visit. The lunch menu was good, but I thought pricey. The service was great it was slow since it was lunch and we were well taken care of. The bathroom had a leak or had just been mopped I'm unsure but it was very slick, and made me nervous for my mom to walk on it.

We love the food and the service is exceptional. Ask for Roberto I promise you he will not disappoint. The margaritas are exceptional. We miss you in the Centrum but the food is worth the drive!

I held a group event tonight at Mattito's with about 40 people coming and going. We had appetizers in house and to go meals for attendees. The food was great, drinks were cold, service was friendly and efficient. The manager was very patient with us splitting the bill among the sponsors and accommodated all our needs. It was the easiest, smoothest event I've had in a long time. I attribute the good turn out to the convenient location. I would do it again.

Omg! For starters, Roberto is absolutely amazing!! His service is out of this world! He recommended a top shelf Margarita that was soooo good. The food!?!? Omgggg. We will definitely be returning to this place. The food tastes so fresh and MTO. The interior was too cute! Seems like a fun spot to be during the evening.

While good Tex-Mex is all over the place in DFW, Matito's stands out as the best we've had in the area lately. Excellent food, fantastic service, and a memorable dining experience all around. We recently had a large reception/celebration dinner and the staff at Matito's - Roberto in particular - went above and beyond to ensure a fantastic time for all. I was a big fan of the carne asada (probably the best I've ever had), and my wife's shrimp were amazingly delicious. Worth the drive, time, effort, and money for us all around. The best Tex-Mex we'll find in this part of the Metroplex (or just about anywhere else) within recent memory. We'll be back for sure!

Roberto at Mattitos on Forest Lane is absolutely the most amazing server in the entire town. He not only shows the best professional side , but does so while becoming a good friend who relates to everyone at his table. Roberto should be recognized and everyone should model his fine work and ethics. Bravo Roberto!

drove from uptown to this location because uptown location is now closed. Breaks my heart. We love that place. Thank goodness Roberto has relocated to this store. However the ambience and the food is just not the same. I guess I enjoy being in a rut!will continue to come, but not as often as we used to.

A longstanding location, in a rustic but festive Tex-Mex decor theme. Located next to Medical City Dallas Children's Hospital along Forest Lane, west of Central Xpwy 75. Decent amount of free parking on site, a picturesque shaded patio, small bar that pours big, big, drinks (bring designated driver). Happy Hour on Tuedsays is All Day! The menu offers Breakfast All Day, Salads, Fajitas, even a Cheeseburger if your mood says Moo! Lunch menu specials are great deal, get Fajitas Salad Bowl with small $1.50 upgrade, and you can skip dinner that day. Mmmm! Seating? well, rustic does not have to be stoic. Please invest in new, better booths, and those little square wooden seats at the bar? nah, pass! Viking-sized diners, avoid the 3 "booths" near the main entrance. The twin booths have a partition that wobbles! Every time the diner in the opposite booth leaned back, it pushed me forward in my booth! Ay, yai-yai! Besides the massive Fajitas Salad Bowl, we had traditional Chicken Enchiladas con Mole (mole sauce poured over the enchiladas). These came with Cilantro Lime Rice, and I subbed Borracho (pinto) beans for the black beans. Big enchiladas, packed with plenty of warm, moist, shredded chicken breast. Oddly, the chicken meat had no savor, no spice at all. The mole sauce must have been Doña María commercial brand, also a bit bland. Since I was tour driver today, no drinky drinky, so could not take the edge off this slightly subpar Mattito's visit. Staff was very warm & energetic, and checked on our table multiple times.

I don't know about you, but I find that it's difficult rating Mexican/Tex-Mex joints in Dallas, Texas. After all, Dallas is full of good Mexican places and it would be tough to find some that are really bad. Quite frankly, if an eatery served-up some New Jersey style enchiladas, they'd be run out of town on a rail. Most Mexican/Tex-Mex places in this city serve up traditional favorites that are pretty solid and Mattito's is one of them. If you're looking to get your fix of Fajitas, Chile Relleno, or Chicken Enchiladas, you're not going to go wrong at Mattito's. And on my visits, service has been prompt and friendly. I suppose there are places that might have a better decor or maybe a fancier swirl Margarita, but when I'm in the mood for Mexican favorites, I don't care about those things and if I'm close to a Mattito's, they'll give me what I want.

Good service from Roberto Chips were crispy and salsa was just right in heat I ordered chili poblano with ground beef and queso with pecans and raisins Yummy My husband ordered fajitas huge order enough for breakfast. We were with friends and had a wonderful time. We all enjoyed our food. The Resturant was neat and clean we Will return. Thanks Roberto

We were both out running errands but wanted to catch up and are very familiar Mattito's other locations. This location didn't disappoint either. We enjoyed the fact that our waitress was very patient with us while we were making our selections. The chips, salsa and drink refills were plentiful. The employees are always smiling, joyful and helpful not just to there "assigned" table. The decor is vibrant and very inviting during the holiday season. Now to this delicious food: My Chicken Chimichanga was filled with grilled chicken and avocado and a very spicy sauce that had a kick that would've been great with just chips alone. My cousin's Fajitas were the trademark delicious Mattito's! We were so full, we had to take some home for later. We had a joyous night!

Ask for Roberto. He was a delight. He's funny but also very attentive. We came for a birthday dinner and we had a table of 9. Our drinks stayed full, our food came out quickly and everything tasted great. Roberto is great! Thanks for a grrrrrreat dining experience.

Mattito's has the best salsa of any restaurant I have ever been in (lots of them)! Their chips are also excellent as is every dish I have ordered there. My favorite dish is called Anna and consists of Two Carnitas Enchiladas with Queso sauce and a Chicken Jalapeño Tamale with Tomatillo sauce. Roberto was our server and he did an excellent job. I strongly recommend asking for Roberto as your server!

Wonderful meal at Mattitos. Unsure of what to order but Roberto, our waiter, shared his favorites which we selected. I had the Brisket Tacos and we also ordered a queso that was not on the menu but Roberto had suggested. Our food arrived quickly and he was very attentive on any requests or refills.

Bob Armstrong Dip - It was good, very filling. The cheese was very creamy and it had a little hint that reminded of The Laughing Cow cheese which I loved. Taco Salad - It was good as well. Very filling, we split it among us two and we were super full. We got the shredded and overall it was good. Service was amazing, she was on top of it. Always came back with water, chips, and salsa refills; continued to check on us. Ambiance was casual and spacious, very relaxing.

Our dinner, as it has been for 20+ years at the Forest Lane, Dallas location this evening was as always Wonderful. The ambiance, the sizzling platillos, the frozen Margaritas have always been super. But added to tonight's dinner was ROBERTO, our waiter, who was mindful of our little needs such as mas salsa, napkins and water- the little things that one should ask for, ROBERTO was already there with it, unrequested. A true service professional, very much a gentleman and a great representative of what Mattito's has always been about. We hope he learns of our words, and we'll see you again! Karen and Tom T
