First time customer today. Cute little local spot with indoor and outdoor seating. I got my order to-go, as the place was mostly occupied and I didn’t want to take up a 4-top table with it being only myself dining.
My double cheeseburger was absolutely delicious (I let out a gluttonous “Mmmmm” as I sank into my first bite 😂)… juicy, fresh ingredients, not overly complicated. Really special American cheese too, I might add! — BUT — the customer service is what really sealed the deal that I’ll be coming back and also recommending to my friends. It seems like at most places these days, the essence of what customer service means has been lost and even some restaurants with the best food, I’ll never return to because I didn’t feel valued— let alone even given basic courtesy/respect by the employees who can’t be bothered..Not the case here!
Given today is a federal holiday, I called ahead to make sure they were open. The lady who answered the phone couldn’t have been more sweet & helpful. When I arrived and walked in, I recognized the lovely woman at the counter who greeted me was who I spoke to on the phone. I told her I was a first time visitor and she was happy to hand me a menu and explain what they all offered, including their coleslaw that’s made in-house (which I plan to try it next time! today I was just craving some juicy, quality meat lol).
My order came out quick, and I enjoyed from my car. I went back in after first bite to request ketchup (I forget that not all places is ketchup standard), and the lady looked concerned & attentive rather than annoyed upon seeing me walk back in the door..means a lot these days! I wish I’d gotten her name to give her a well deserved public accolade, but shoutout to Matt’s Burger’s in Summerville for a refreshing and delicious local experience! 🫶🏼
