My all-time favorite bar! Beyond the exceptional service and live music every Friday and Saturday night, Matt’s Saloon shines with its ability to bring great people together for a great time. Matt’s stays true to our roots here in Prescott while also welcoming everyone as our town continues to grow. From sponsoring many events including the Prescott Rodeo and NYE Boot Drop, Matt and his team are always dedicated to serving our community. Matt’s is truly the glue of Whiskey Row and an absolute gem in Prescott. You haven’t truly experienced Prescott until you’ve danced the night away at Matt’s!

Second time here, and the place is as great as always. Atmosphere was excellent, beer & liquor choices are top notch. Our bartenders name was Sierra and she was great. I highly recommend this Saloon if you find yourself in the area!

Take a stroll down Whiskey Row in Prescott AZ and stop into Matt’s Saloon. One of the last real honky tonks. Belly up to the bar and enjoy a cold one, it’s dog friendly during the day. I wouldn’t suggest bringing a dog it when it’s hoppin with people and music! Whiskey Row is a must when visiting Prescott.

Atmosphere was good love live country music and vibe would’ve spent more time and money here if it was not a cash only bar and ATM in facility charges $6 . Other that was a fun time if you want t to stay long and chill just make sure you have cash only .

I was familiar with the band they had on, Chauncey Jones was fantastic as always when he performs. Sadly, the dancing here is atrocious compared to bars in Tucson and Phoenix. Absolutely no floor etiquette from other patrons along with a lack of space to begin. If you want good music and a fun environment its alright, but that's it.

Matt’s Saloon has an amazing atmosphere, great bartenders and a dance floor with live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. It’s the place to be! We always have such a great time with many laughs.

Super fun bar to go to! We always have a fabulous time there, and we enjoy going every year for the tree lighting auction to raise money to support the community.

Been going to this place for decades. The staff is awesome. Very friendly and always attentive. The place is literally straight out of the old west. Great for locals and you’ll find a lot of tourists there too. Matt always has great entertainment on the weekend. So be sure to check out the live music.

If you find yourself on Whiskey Row and don't stop at Matt's Saloon, you're missing a Prescott classic. This place has the best kind of Western grit, loud, lively, and dripping with character. From the sawdust floors to the honky-tonk tunes and cowboy hats actually worn by "real"cowboys, the vibe is as authentic as it gets. Honestly, it might just be my favorite bar on Whiskey Row. Cold drinks, a dance floor that doesn't sleep, and a no-nonsense, all-fun energy that's hard to beat. Just a heads-up, it's cash only, so come prepared or you'll be sipping water while your friend's two-step. Fun fact: Matt's was recreated for the movie Only the Brave, though Hollywood took some liberties. The film version didn't exactly nail the layout or its true spot on the Row, and the inside? Not quite the same magic. Still, cool to see it get a little silver screen spotlight. If you're looking for real Western charm, good music, and a bar that doesn't pretend to be anything it's not--Matt's is your place.

I always love going to Matt saloon. This place is always awesome. The bartenders are on it spot on sometimes. Yes there's a little weight due to. There's a lot of people in this place. The ambience depends on what time of the day you're at if it's Friday Saturday evening is usually a live band in there starting around 8:30 and it's pretty packed and not loud but it's pretty decent always some dancing and what not going on. But if it's during the day a little bit more quiet And Obviously a lot less of a crowd but still an awesome place unfortunately they don't have food there, but you can go get food at one of the restaurants around the area and bring it in without a problem.

You had me at Whiskey Row. Matt's is a fun place, with horse race betting and great bartenders. The one we had was hilarious, fast and just good at what she does. We all had beer or vodka drinks and played a couple horse races. Won(ish) two of four. It was just a great experience. Another super old bar that was very cool to be in.

Fun old school vibe! Cash only, good music and a fun place to hang. Play pole in the back or hang out and watch sports at the bar. Welcoming for all!

I always love coming to Matt saloon. Great bar with live music always. They don't serve any food, but you're more than welcome to grab food at one of the local places close by and bring it in. The bar service is excellent. The back bar bartender she is one of the best remembers you. All the staff always remembers you no matter if it's front bar back door, which is great in which I really like about a place the ambience the whole place is great live music. Is that a respectable volume there's always dancing on a lot of talking going on a whole lot going on and it's a well worth place and visit.

Such a fun bar first timer going to the bars at whiskey row and had a such a great time at Matt's that we stayed there the whole night! Amazing bartenders and amazing live music with a live dance floor will definitely be back!

Had a blast at Matt's last night. Sandi and Dalton were awesome. Friend and I went and omg not going to lie I'm glad I wasn't driving. Crowd was fun and they had karaoke which is always entertaining

The saloon is a chilled place. Ice cold beer and the mixed drinks are spot on. The bartender was very knowledgeable on different drinks which made the night enjoyable and fun. The bar was casual and relaxed.

We listened to great live country music while watching the Big Ten championship game, drinking some whiskey. Doesn't get much better. Lots of room to dance. Friendly crowd. Bartenders who made some great drink recommendations. We had a lot of fun!

This is my go to bar in Prescott. Friendly and funny bartenders. Stiff drinks. Music and plenty of room to dance. Pool table in back. FYI they only take cash

Such a disappointment... asked for an old fashion and the bartender said "we don't do old fashions." At first I thought he was joking ! Nope no joke. He said we don't have the ingredients for an old fashions. Omg is this a bar on Whiskey Row? Whaaaa

This is not the place to take your family to eat or dance. This is a rugged, salt of the earth, good ol bar. It's a blast to bet on the horses, and I would not recommend asking for any type of cocktail that is not straight up liquor. They make anything either ingredients. But it was one of our favorite stops because of the vibe

Dalton is THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Great bartending, great customer service, definite spot to hit in Prescott!!!

We come to Matt's several times a year and always have a great time. Bartenders are friendly and they usually have some great live music going. If you want a table, I recommend coming early as the place tends to fill up on the weekends. Also be prepared with cash as they do not take card. There is an ATM available.

If you know you know .. Matt's is a chill vibe bar , like most of the whiskey row bars , it holds up to that old western cowboy vibes , tastefully decorated with fantastic memories abd memorbilia. Sit at the bar or a table either way be prepared to be in a chill environment , fun environment or even better kareoke ! The bar is clean , open and tyr staff is extremely helpful, kind and professional! Even if you are the outsider coming in , they treat as if your just one of the regulars . Love it! Play pool , listen to music or make new friends , it's the place to be! This is a drinking bar bar my friends , so eat your snacks before or after . Cash only , yes they do have an ATM inside! But just a little heads up .. most of the bars are cash only! Tip your bartenders , they are fantastic and more than excited to welcome you to their stomping grounds! Cheers my friends !

Matt's bar doesn't have food but it does have a hard arse working bartender named Sandi that is freaking killing it! Line dancing tonight but can't walk a straight line to save my life so I will just watch They have live bands with amazing music and a good dance floor if you can dance

went in with family was full of men the bartender didn't get her name she had highlights she looked at me asked for my id no problem i gave it to her she seen it had attitude I sat down went to order then she started being rude to my family members so we just up and left she was very very rude and confrontational about nothing.. headed a little ways down found a better bar with better service and friendly.

Matt's is a must if you're in Prescott. We have made Prescott one of our annual runs. Matt's is our goto watering hole. Karaoke on Wednesday is awesome. Our last trip we had Taylor as our bartender. Beauty, brains and a voice to die for! She was attentive and never missed a beat even when singing. Last night we had Sierra. Another amazing bartender. Beauty, sass and personality! We've been to many of the spots on whiskey row and always come back to Matt's! They've got a pretty decent bourbon selection and interact with customers making for a fun time.

Had the best time at Matt's a true country bar!!! Worked are way from the front to the back and all the bartenders were spectacular especially Dalton and Demi Rae!!! Certainly was not a Disney experience which is a good thing!!!!

Matt saloon is God awful. The security guards are absolutely delusional and there's nothing you can do to teach them common sense. They lack a brain cell that any bar has. It's absolutely god awful and everybody that works there is childish and immature. They have no idea what a good time is and it's super devastating. they kicked us out because they said we were acting insane but instead we were joking around and dancing with our friends. They are ridiculous and bored out of their mind that they try to ruin everybody else's night. When we asked for the manager they said nobody was the manager of that place and they denied us the common decency of the truth.

Great place to come wit friends for dancing and drinks. Drinks are reasonably priced. Only downside is that the music is WAY too loud and the place is cash only.

Every time we are in Prescott, we go to this establishment. The music is great and the drinks from the bar are good. Only need more tables on the side for seating.

I felt like I became a cowgirl . We enjoyed dancing and musics. The sign of the ladies room was unique .

Awesome saloon. Bartenders and staff are friendly. Saloon has a historic feel and I love their decor. Cash only. I wish they served Dragoon beer and Prescott Brewing Co beer. Maybe they do but didn't have it during the time I was there. I really enjoyed the country music they were playing. Overall good experience. Highly recommended.

A fun country bar in Prescott AZ. We always have fun here. The live bands are great, lots of country line dancing, strong drinks & even karaoke sometimes. We went there on Super Bowl Sunday & they had a buffet set up with tons of free food; it was awesome. The staff including security are always friendly too. Weekends are fun because it's packed full of country line dancers having a great time dancing. Such a fun place.

If I could give ONE star, I would. My friends and I went for a bachelorette party last year. We started dancing, having our things in the middle of us. A woman walked right up, picking up my coat and started to walk away. I stopped her, telling her it was my coat. She went on to say that her family owned the bar! WTF!? Found out she had rudely nudged one of my friends while trying to get drinks, pushing my other friend while walking past her. I ended up telling her, as she was talking about me to another woman, that I tried to be nice and she's lucky I didn't call the cops. NEVER WILL ME OR MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS ENTER THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN!!! My husband went with family to visit a friend. His friend told him they hate the place because of how they're treated. Plenty of other bars, restaurants in that area. JJ's Smiles on Tap is about 1/2 a mile away, right around the corner. Friendly people, bartenders; and no one tries to steal your things.

#CoVid Getaway Review: Got in before the crowd. Friendly bartender, served quickly, and cooled down from our walk around town. We can see how this place would be a hit on the weekends! Thank you for the quick pit stop to refresh and repose!

Dance floor with a variety of country music/dances was great. Not just a line dance place. Cons: cash only, and the DJ playing between live sets was eh.

Had a great time at Matt's saloon! Cowboy/Bartender Dalton was AWESOME. He's even from Wisconsin! Go pack go! Definitely a must Go To on Whiskey Row in Prescott. You won't be disappointed. Cheers

Was hanging out in Prescott and wanted a beer.. wife and I walked in and was stunned by the beautiful decor. The Christmas decorations were wonderful. Loved the old ceiling. We were there on a Tuesday so wasn't expecting any crowds. The lady serving was a sweetheart! Beer was $4.00 for a bottle of Mic. The guy at the end of the bar with the dog was very nice as well. My only complaint is it's cash only and I won't drink in a cash only bar..

They have music and a pool table. Cool. But the big bartender guy seems to charge whatever he wants for drinks. Not cool. The tall girl on Wednesday nights is a class act though.

Dalton is an awesome bartender the atmosphere is wonderful I had a great time here. Thursday night is line dancing night so they're teaching people how to do line dances which I believe is pretty awesome especially for the older crowd.

We love Matt's!! The best honky tonk in Prescott.. or maybe even my all time favorite thus far!? Impressive amount of beverage selections with reasonable pricing, historic western atmosphere, great music, and as much dancing as you wish! Everyone is polite from the bouncers, to the bartenders, to the bands. You must stop here while in Prescott!

Best Karaoke System and Nice Bar It's rare to find a good place for karaoke that actually has good sound! Matt's has their own sound system so it's wired into the pro audio system and not just some cheap speakers from a karaoke guy. The only spot I know in Prescott that does karaoke in Sunday's too which is cool! Not sure which other days they have it. The karaoke DJ is a friendly guy who does a good job of sorting through the masses of people. The bartender girl did a great job of trying to manage the whole packed place seemingly all by herself! I was surprised she seemed to be the only bartender with a couple hundred people on location... They have a pool table in back also if you are so inclined. There used to be an upstairs bar where the karaoke competitions used to be but it appears to be all closed down now. All in all this is a good spot I have been coming for about 17 years or so now... Man that makes me sound old!

Do you like live Country music? Are you a diehard boot scooter? Then Matt's is the place for you. In fact, they are the place in Prescott where you can line dance in style every Friday and Saturday Nigh with loads of like minded folk. They have the largest dance floor in Prescott with plenty of room to accomidate a crowd. If you're part of the uninitiated or have "two left feet" Matt's offers regular Line Dancing Lessons. How 'bout that!? It is important to note that Matt's has a high quality house sound system and a soundman that keeps you from suffering from that harsh and unpleasant sound of the-band-set-themselves-up-in-the-the-corner syndrome that plagues some local's watering holes. The band plays on a professionally lit stage platform that is above the Restrooms, Back Bar, and Pool Table, which offers a great view of the performers from every bar seat, every table, and the dance floor no matter how packed the place is. They also have Karaoke Hosted by Anthony a couple night a week, and that sound system REALLY helps the singers rise above Scaraoke level. By the way, if you had avoided Matt's Karaoke in the past due to the out-of-date and limited song selection, and problematic displays for the song lyrics, well, that's all been taken care of. The numerous big screens, and Anthony's system has that all fixed. Matt's is open all day, and is more of just a regular bar where you gan grab a beverage and tuck away at a corner table, or belly up o the awesome gigantic bar and chat it up with locals and tourists from all sorts of interesting, faraway places like Europe, Australia, or Michican. With all that being said, I am not a fan of Matt's. I don't get friendly service here. I find the bartenders to be slow to notice you, a bit surly or too matter-of-fact, and usually hanging out chatting at one end of the bar with their friends. I also find the weekend security staff overall to be less than welcoming. Sorry, if that sounds harsh to you, Matt's staff, but I've been coming here since the 70's long before I moved here, and that's just the way it's been consistently over the last several years. I'm also not a MODERN Country music fan, even if one of my dogs IS named after Johnny Cash. So Fri/Sat nights are a no go for me unless I'm doing a Whiskey Row crawl. I do enjoy coming to Karaoke here. The restrooms are also substandard in my view, but maybe that's not a problem for other patrons. Matt's is like Whiskey Row Pub to me: a 1 or 2 star on weekend nights, but a 3 star "OK" at other times.

We always come to Matt's when we are town! Love this place and Sandi the bar tender! Give it a try if your in town and get your bets going on in the OTB!

This is a really cool old bar. Cold beer and great whiskey. Nothing fancy so don't come asking..... PS It was so nice to get out! Even though things aren't back to normal, people seem happier and even more excited to be out. Thank you!!

This is a must stop!! Super cool authentic old west vibe!! If you're lucky, you'll meet up with Sandi the bartender. Sandi has the quickest wit & makes you feel right at home. Great choices of draught beers, bet off track ponies & listen to great music that's at a great volume so you can still hold a conversation Don't miss this gem.

My husband and I came into town to celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary. We went to almost all places in whiskey row. We happened to walk into Matt's Saloon and meet Dalton. This was the second time we had been there and Dalton was an absolute surprise. He was friendly and personable. He recommended local eats and he was spot on. What a pleasure Dalton was. I highly recommend if you walk in and see his name. Give him a hello and you won't regret it!

Went to sit down and have a water while my other half had a couple drinks, i got up from where we had sat down to ask for a water and the bartender carded me and then proceeded to kick me out. Would not recommend this bar unless you want to waste 10 mins of your life.

One of the Best Bars in Prescott! We went on a Friday night and had a great seat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and kept our drinks flowing. Band was awesome- David Voss - and lots of room to get your country dance on. Love that the band plays above the crowd so you can see them perform. Great for people watching too as a huge mix of people come here. The vibe is awesome and the DJ before the band plays a mix of good music. X Highly recommend as a place to go when bar hopping down Whiskey Row!

I worked for Matt years ago and the people that have it now are doing Matt right. I went there a few years back and was thrill about how good the people are doing with the business. Bravo! Much Love Truly Lynn

We won't be going back to this place again. First it's cash only, they don't warn you and then point at an ATM that they make money off the fees. Second they serve beer in these stupid little tiny mugs that are beat to hell. Third, the bartender pockets money there. We ordered three fireball shots, asked what we owed, she stood there and went "hmmmm, let me see" as she is looking up, "hmmmm let's see....uh 21 dollars." 21 dollars for three shots? We ordered 4 beers which were served in undersized mugs. How much? "Hmmmm let's see..." "um, well, 24 dollars." 6 bucks each for standard lager? So, let's tally, 21 dollars for 3 shots and 24 dollars for 4 lagers, 45 dollars, cash only. Wasn't hard to see who was pocketing some extra cash, she is!!! And to boot she had a weird attitude. I was told that when going to Whiskey Row you have to go here!! Well that's total BS. Go to the Palace for sure. Much much better!! Go to Jersey Lilly's for sure. Sit out on the balcony where girls of the night called out from!! Go to Prescott Brewing and make your way over to the Park Deli. Stay away from the cash only places. Stay away from Matt's if you know what's good for ya.

I can't even give this place one star. Do not go there on a weekend. You want a good drink go down the street to the Point. The drinks there are top notch. Matt's bar the service is bad and the bartenders are rude and make bad drinks.

I loved this place. Such an awesome vibe and very cute and decorated for Christmas. Inexpensive but cash only. They do have an atm in case you need cash which is convenient.

Came to Prescott for a night of fun. Started bar crawl at Matt's. Amador is the bartender. Good music. Cold beer. Great friendly service. Awesome
