"Not quite in Key West itself, but on nearby Stock Island, this spot inside the Perry Hotel & Marina serves top-notch Sunday brunch and hearty seafood-centric dinner fare. The coastal restaurant offers Key West pink shrimp and locally caught mahi, along with a must-try pork chop served with sweet corn, asparagus risotto, and green tomato relish." - Amber Love Bond

"A little removed from the party scene on Duval Street, this peaceful American restaurant inside the Perry Hotel Key West offers some of the island's best meals. Self-described as American coastal comfort food, appetizers like she-crab soup with blue crab sherry fritter and yellowfin tuna tartare are not to be missed before moving to other dishes like grilled pork chop with sweet corn and asparagus risotto, blackened mahi with blue crab succotash, and center cut filet of beef with goat cheese whipped potatoes." - Alona Martinez

First off you must have Zack as your waiter!! Everything else will flow beautifully! Dinner was amazing. I bypassed an appetizer and had the airport chicken and hubby modified this pasta dish as he has dietary restrictions and too severe food allergies they are north than accommodating. I highly recommend the Keylime pie as Zack had highly recommended it to me. We are here till Tuesday.

Google
Breakfast was tasty and unique. Returned for dessert that night, and found my new favorite dessert: chocolate brulee! Dinner on another day was good... the shrimp was perfectly cooked as were the grits, just wish they used less salt.

Google
I never expected to find top-rated food at a hotel, but Matt’s Stock Island Kitchen and Bar at the Perry Hotel is outstanding. The she crab soup with shrimp fritters was delectable. The salad was full of tasty surprises, including pickled peppers. The blackened mahi magh burst with flavor on top of a tomato sauce with beans, peas, and corn. The creamy key lime pie was served with a graham cracker crust and lime zest. Excellent breakfast too!

We had a fantastic dinner tonight. Our server, Fernando, was absolutely spectacular! He made the night. Thanks for a great first-time experience!

Google
Nice spot with outdoor seating. The food did come out cold but they were happily able to get it back out hot to us. The hours aren’t accurate, as the restaurant closed during the afternoon but didn’t give any indication why and this isn’t reflected on Google. Lots of iguanas were found outside, so keep any eye out, they’re fast!

Google
A Perfect Breakfast in Key West at Matt’s Stock Island Kitchen & Bar We ventured from our resort in search of the ideal breakfast, as my mom is a notoriously discerning eater. Choosing Matt’s did not disappoint—everything was reminiscent of a home-cooked meal. We ordered two dishes to share: The French toast, subtly infused with guava, and the Southern eggs Benedict were both exceptional. It’s the little details that stood out, like the home fries delicately made with shallots. The attentive and warm staff only added to the experience. To top it all off, we dined outdoors with a stunning view of the marina and the gentle Atlantic breeze as our companion. Without a doubt, we’ll be returning during our week-long stay in the Keys.

Came here for the first time on Thanksgiving. It was very good. My son is not usually a fan of traditional Thanksgiving food but he really liked it here. Our family had a nice time. Wiill be back in the near future. I think we will sit outside next time. Nice vibe.

They cooked our fresh catch perfectly. The staff is super friendly. Genevieve, the hostess is amazing. Our server Lance was great

Yelp
Four of us had dinner at Matt's and we were all in agreement - chef Mark Miranda is doing a great job at this upscale resort restaurant. (The Perry Hotel just won a Key West People's Choice Award for Best Resort 2024.) We ordered: Blackened Mahi with blue crab succotash, Grilled pork chop with corn & asparagus risotto, Key West Shrimp linguine in a blue crab & citrus sauce, and Airline Chicken Breast with mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus. All four dishes were a 10/10 with amazing presentations. (See photos.) Service was excellent. Yes, prices were high, but not ridiculous. The resort offers free self parking and a beautiful ambiance of the marina. The resort and restaurant are named after Matthew Perry, a naval officer credited with acquiring Key West for the United States. He also fought against slave ships coming to these United States. In summary, Matt's Stock Island Kitchen & Bar is a top notch place to eat with perfectly prepared food and the beautiful ambiance of the marina.

Yelp
We arrived a few minutes early for your Sunday brunch reservation and the host happily seated us immediately. There was plenty of open tables and the first table he seated us at had a view of a wall. A few minutes later, we asked to be moved to the table next to us and thankfully he obliged. It truly made the ambiance of the occasion so much better by having a view of the marina. Our server was pleasant and food arrived quickly I had the traditional breakfast which was 2 eggs over medium, wheat toast, home fries, and bacon. The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly and the rest was just ok. The toast was over toasted which is not my preference. The home fries were kinda basic. The menu says it comes with roasted tomato which I don't recall having. My husband enjoyed his yellow tail snapper BLT. It was just a bit messy to eat but he liked it. I'm certain if you are staying here at the hotel it is a great dining option but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here for breakfast.

Yelp
Had dinner at Matts.great location, bright, clean, and great service. Food was very good, and Sopika our server was very friendly.

Yelp
This restaurant was amazing. If i knew about the restaurant when I arrived. I would've eaten here every day. I went here for brunch. I ordered the steak & eggs for brunch. They had unlimited mimosas. The food was delicious. I don't usually drink mimosas, but they were delicious & there were a variety of flavors. The service was amazing. I liked the interior of the restaurant, but the exterior was even better. After brunch, we walked around & the views & yachts were amazing.

Gretchen H.

Yelp
Biscuits and gravy is definitely not what you're expecting. It looks like shrimp and grits plus there's only one biscuit hiding in the gravy soup like consistency. The server never came by after our food was delivered. My eggs were fried not over medium and my home fries weren't crispy. Food wasn't bad and I ate it because I was hungry and didn't want to deal with waiting. All and all the food wasn't bad it was the lack of service from the server and accuracy of our order. Our waters were never refilled or even asked how the food was come bill time. The outside was beautiful and had a good comfortable breeze off the ocean. They don't do military discount but they do locals discount.

Yelp
We just ate here for breakfast twice while at the resort. Excellent service, great food and love being able to sit outside with my dog. We highly recommend the blueberry pancakes and omelettes. I also had the southern Benedict but didn't "love" it. It was ok. Also enjoyed the cafe con Leche and mimosas.

Kim N.

Yelp
Located inside Perry hotel with indoor and outdoor water view dining. We ordered eggs Benedict, blueberry pancakes , waffles , and kids meal veggie omelet . All were well prepared and tasted above average . Must tries are blueberry pancakes, eggs. Benedict and fresh squeezed orange juice, Only cons are tip is automatically included which I don't prefer, unless it's dinner at a higher end restaurant. Service was great the 1st day . In total we spent about $100 for 3 and a toddler . Another day we came back and service was not as good coming from the receptionist . I asked her twice for a baby high chair and she still didn't bring it . Also had to walk to her booth to ask for crayons and a kids menu bc she also forgot .

Yelp
The best brunch and service I have had in a long time! Key lime Stuffed French toast to die for! Thank you Nikola for amazing service and hospitality. Congratulations to executive Chef Mark Moranda for exquisite menu We really enjoyed ourselves with our stay at Perry Hotel and marina

Sandra L.

Yelp
I was so excited about this place due to the reviews. Went for breakfast this morning 9-17-24 and was disappointed all around. Stood at entrance for a while before even getting seated in the empty restaurant at 10am . Then the mediocre food came out and we never saw waiter again for refills. Won't return during rest of my trip. The food and service were better at the outdoor bar and restaurant!

Yelp
We (4 adults and 1 toddler) came here for brunch today around 9:45. After getting seated and giving us water and juice, our server did not come back for almost 30 minutes! And they only came back when one of went inside to look for them. After coming to the table they apologized saying that "guests wanted to-go drinks from the bar", which was clearly a lie because we could see them chatting with the other staff through the window. Anyway, the food was okay. 2/5 meals were bad, 2/5 were okay, and the child meal was good. However, when the bill came, they had added a 20% automatic gratuity for a large party. When checking with them, they said it was automatic for 6+ people. I asked them to come outside to count the number of people in the party, and if that indeed was 6 or more. After this, they rectified the bill. But, the bill showed the adult price for the child meal. At this point, we were frustrated, so we ended up leaving after leaving 20% gratuity (I have no interest in taking money from anyone). TLDR: Horrible service and 50% chance of getting bad food.

Yelp
Just had a 15 person dinner here and everyone loved it. Masha was our server and she was great. Loved our experience and the ambiance of the place so most of the rating is for that. Our food took awhile but that's understandable with such a big order. I got the crispy yellowtail snapper. The fish needed a tad bit more seasoning but the grits were good. Also ordered half a dozen oysters which were fresh but they could've been shucked better. I had to remove the oyster from the shell. A lot of shrimp linguines were ordered at our table and that was definitely the go-to dish there. The shrimps were huge and the linguine was really tasty. We ordered the key lime pie, chocolate brûlée and beignets for dessert. I was hoping for a little more tart and a little less sweet for the pie and the beignet wasn't as light as it should've been. Overall, this is a great place to have a nice dinner with a big group of people. It is pricey though so I expected a little more attention to detail.

James W.

Yelp
A restaurant inside the hotel that is right by the harbor offering lovely key lime food options! I highly recommend their key lime pie and Forbe's mentioned it as 1 of the top 5 places for a pie in Key West. And honestly, it had a macaroni almond crust, delicious filling, and I appreciated the passion fruit coulis with whipped cream. Their entrees and appetizers are on the pricier side but the service is really good.

Yelp
Solid 4 stars restaurant. Base on price, value and taste, it is good skill chef in this area. Also very close boat dock , it is close to water view. You can bring your catch and they can cook for you. We start with the grilled octopus. It came with bacon in the sauce. It is delicious and tender. Our main dish is red snapper with crawfish in sauce. The snapper is blackened and the flavored is the best. Highly recommended. My friend has the grouper blackened and with pasta and sauce. This is also a good dish. My wife has a short rib in burgundy sauces. It come with broccolini. Perfect combination. Service is good for this high class restaurant.

Yelp
The best food on Stock Island and beyond! Great food, service and ambiance. You won't be disappointed.

Christa K.

Yelp
We love the Perry and have eaten at Matt's twice. Both times were delicious and we experienced great service. This time we had flew in late and were hungry when we got to the hotel. The restaurant was empty- but clean and quiet. We decided to sit inside and could watch the kitchen. We ordered drinks and the tuna tar tar to start. It was delicious! I haven't seen it served this way before and really enjoyed it. I chose the key west shrimp pasta and my boyfriend got the yellow tail snapper over grits. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing dinner.

Ginger A.

Yelp
The ambience is relaxing and timeless. The waitress was attentive. We ordered avocado toast with corn salad, roasted tomatoes and lime cream. We left off the poached egg. To drink we had a Cafe' con leche.. hot and strong! This was within our hotel, the Perry Hotel and Marina

Taylor Y.

Yelp
Sat at the bar, Tee was extraordinary! Food was excellent especially the oysters & filet mignon. Loved the ambiance and view. Will be back soon!

Aura K.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was good. We tried the lobster egg Benedict and key lime pie because it had very good reviews. Everything was good and nice view of the boats when sitting outside.

Jessica E.

Yelp
Been here over the years and it's always one of my first stops when I come to Key West. Lance was absolutely amazing tonight. Extremely educated on wines and menu- great personality and dealt with us as a late walk in. We just got here and wanted real good food and that it was!!! Never disappoints. Oysters are phenomenal and grouper special was out of this world! Can't wait to be back this week.

Rachel W.

Yelp
This place is great. The food is delicious and the smash burger is amazing! The peel shrimp is also great if you like shellfish

Vanessa C.

Yelp
I had the Blackened Mahi and it was delicious. The service was excellent, everyone was friendly. The ambiance was just right. Not too overwhelming. Tee suggestions were taken and he did not lead me wrong. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.

Eric B.

Yelp
My friend was staying at the hotel and kept suggesting this for dinner. We were last minute and this was the few places that had a reasonable time for reservations. I really did not want to go here since we were staying right off Duval and just left Stock Island after we got back from our diving trip. Wow, I was wrong! This place was great! The service was a little slow because they were a little short staffed and I believe it was his second day. He did a great job though for being overwhelmed. Although the food got there in a reasonable amount of time. The food and drink: well priced for Key West and awesome. I was excited to see a tri-tip meal. I grew up in California and they love tri-tip. I've lived in Texas for over 20 years and they have great meat and BBQ, but don't seem to use the tri-tip. 3 or the 4 of us got the tri-tip. It was outstanding! The other guy got a hanger steak special. It was great too. Definitely will be on our Key West rotation going forward. Keep up the great work!

Deborah F.

Yelp
Love the Sunday Brunch here. Includes mimosas or Bloody's. Great service and nice deco inside.

John C.

Yelp
Visiting Key West for a week earlier this month, we wanted a nice dinner close to our hotel on the east end of the island ("new town"), where the choices are limited because most of the restaurants are in the downtown area on the western end ("old town"). Numerous venues came up on a Yelp search, most of which we dismissed because they were either chain-type fastfood or had some negative factors. Matt's was down the list, possibly because it's on Stock Island, not the main Key West island. We decided to give it a chance. It's in the Perry Hotel & Marina. It was a good choice. Even though it was a Friday evening, the dining room was nearly empty. Whatever the reason, it wasn't food or service. My wife tried the "she crab" soup and said it was very good, while I had the tuna tartare appetizer--excellent. For entree I chose the yellow snapper & grits, and it was really good. My wife wanted something not on the menu, shrimp & grits. She described what she wanted to our server, who asked the chef whether he could do it, and he was game. It came and she pronounced it very good, thoroughly enjoying it. There was enough for her to take some leftover with us. I had some a couple of nights later at our hotel (our suite had a full kitchen), and she was right. I can recommend Matt's Stock Island Kitchen unreservedly. Prices are reasonable.

Greg J.

Yelp
Beautiful setting on the marina. The food was very good and our waiter was pleasant. Nothing spectacular, but enjoyable. It took awhile for them to get us a table even though they weren't busy. But they have shuffleboard that kept me entertained.

Jim H.

Yelp
Breakfast/brunch with family. Service was friendly but slow. Meals tasted good but all five plates were cold. Had much better service under previous management. No old staff members were there. Too many good restaurants in area to go back here. Told waiter about cold food and all we got was a quiet "sorry". Will go off-site for breakfast. Nice views

Sandra B.

Yelp
I was very disappointed in this restaurant. The service was great. No complaint there. The acoustics were loud and jarring. You couldn't talk to the person next to you. The industrial vibe was good to look at but too much metal made it hard to hear anything. The best thing about the meal was the onion butter. Delish-but the bread was dry and tasteless. My fish (at $42) was very crispy on the outside but underdone inside. All in all, a bad experience at Matt's. I'm a local and I won't go back.

Lourdes C.

Yelp
Great food and. Service ! We went both for breakfast and returned for dinner . The mahi was fresh and delicious as well as the cocktails very unique.. The breakfast was better than any of the other ones that I had and Key West. My husband loved his meal. He had the snapper so overall.its a gem

Yisell D.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and was very satisfied . They have an all you can eat and drink (mimosas and bloody Mary's ) for $55 or you can order a la carte. Every plate we tried was delicious and the drinks as well. The cappuccino was also excellent and the service was on point . Although plates are small eating 2 or three per person is enough. I particularly loved their avocado toast , their acai bowl and the smoked Kobe Tri Tip. You really can't go wrong here

Sheyla H.

Yelp
Food was horrible and distasteful especially for the price. Poor choices in appetizers, long waits, and drinks made poorly

Kortnie L.

Yelp
Happened upon this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon for their brunch and it was decent. So, their brunch menu is basically tapas style, so everything is small in portion. However, for $55 you get bottomless mimosa's or bloody Mary's and endless small plates. So anything on their brunch menu and as much as you want. Awesome idea. My friend ordered the bottomless option and had 4 bloody Mary's and 6 different plates and was only $55. I, however, was not that hungry so I tried the lobster slider. It was so very delicious. It's lobster mixed with Mayo, on a warm slider bun with pork belly and a slice of tomato. I ordered 2 since the first one was so flavorful. The restaurant had a great vibe perched right on the marina. Not bad at all.

Brielle P.

Yelp
SUPER cute hidden gem located on Stock Island (right before Key West). This waterfront restaurant is part of the Perry Hotel and is on the marina. They have indoor and outdoor seating and follow all COVID/CDC guidelines. We had breakfast there on Sunday and it was excellent. I ordered the eggs which came with delicious potatoes. My boyfriend had the banana nut pancakes and they were to die for! He also got a side of bacon which was a plentiful plate for the low cost. Pricing is average but view and service were excellent. Mimosa and bloody mary were strong and perfectly made! We will definitely be back.

Ginni K.

Yelp
I can't give any stars as we didn't go into the business. We didn't know it was inside a hotel. The entrance to the hotel was blocked with a large truck. We pulled in next door but didn't know if it was public parking lot or not. So we left to look for another place to eat. I

Valentina N.

Yelp
So the theme for the eating spots at the Perry seem to be few options but solid ones. Echoing what others recommended here we got the banana bread pancakes and 2 eggs with potatoes, along with coffee and a mimosa. The food was delicious perfect portions and came out quick! The drinks were great too, definitely a hat tip to the bartender for a boozier than usual mimosa . The service is fantastic, we got lucky with Hilary who was so friendly, helpful and attentive, really made the experience that much worthwhile. And lastly you can't beat the ambiance just awesome for a Tuesday in February! Must visit especially if you're staying at the Perry!

Belinda D.

Yelp
The food was delicious! The ambiance was relaxing and calm. Service was on point. They even brought out a bowl of ice water for my dog. Will definitely save this for a future visit!.

Ashley K.

Yelp
I came here to try breakfast during the week. This is a very quaint little spot with views of the marina. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The menu isn't very large but it offers just enough of what you'd want for breakfast. The banana bread pancakes were awesome. Overall everything everyone had was good and I would definitely return.

Dylan R.

Yelp
Don't waste your time reading a review. Just GO! This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in my entire life. Key West's pállate has been salty, un-exciting and just downright disappointing. Lacking flavor and passion. I spent a while going through a bunch of options. Upon reading reviews and checking out photos, I swiped right on Matt's. Compared to all of the other restaurants I have been to in the keys, this should have a Michelin Star. Ambience 10/10 Food 11/10 Service 11/10 Recommendations: Tuna Tacos- 10/10 **must** Crab Beignet's- 7.5/10 Grouper with some insane sauce and cornbread gnocchi? Oh and some lil' crayfish mixed in Swordfish- 8/10 (I feel this should've been paired with a different side) Brussels Sprouts- 7/10 Cornbread mash- 10/10 Stop reading and go eat! XO- Dylan

Miggs Z.

Yelp
What a wonderful evening. Great decor right when you walk in. We were greeted warmly and sat next to the windows to see all the boats. The tuna tar tar could be the best I've had. My wife enjoyed her "house" salad. Her filet looked a little overdone for me, but she loved it. The snapper was on point and the grits were delicious. Try the strawberry lemonade cocktail was yummy. And the Baileys coffee at the end was nice and boozy.

Mike T.

Yelp
Outstanding ambience matched only by even better service. Food and cocktails were also unbelievable! Five stars!

Amanda W.

Yelp
Beautiful location. You can sit indoors and outdoor and enjoy the view of the marina. The inside of the crab beignets were too soggy to us and we didn't taste the crab. I think being from a crab loving state Im use to a higher caliber of crab meat being used in recipes ‍. The shrimp and grits was delicious. As well as the cornbread mash. A nice twist to enjoy cornbread.

Yassmin A.

Yelp
Wow! Such a pleasant surprise. A week in Florida from Miami to Islamorada to Key West- this was one of our favourite meals and the service was incredible. We had the crudo, kobe and grouper & key lime pie for dessert - simply perfect. So many cheesy restaurants in downtown key west and Matts is an absolute gem.

Karen C.

Yelp
The food we had at breakfast was good but $60 for 2 cups of coffee, 4 eggs, 2 pieces of toast and home fries seemed excessive! The waiter was quite good but the breakfast prices seemed high

Macy T.

Yelp
We were staying at Stock Island Marina on a boat and found Matt's to be the perfect breakfast place. The staff is incredibly friendly, they have indoor and outdoor seating as well as a bar area with TV. The restaurant was very clean and the outside area overlooked the Perry Hotel pool and the marina. If you're looking for a wonderful breakfast place in this area you've found it. They also offer dinner usually with a reservation required. The food is well worth the prices. I highly recommend the banana bread pancakes!

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Located inside the Perry Hotel with ample parking by the docks even on Friday night. Very nice seating outside for dinner with live music (one guy singing his rendition of the hits), fire pits, and a view of the docks. Perry Hotel has done a good job with their on-site restaurant. Food was generally good (although they did give me hard avocado for my avocado salad), and service was just okay (naturally he had to prioritize more profitable customers ordering bottles of wine). The key lime pie looks cute and fancy, but the pie itself was not the best I've had (it was almost too sweet with no lime taste). Overall a pleasant experience. It is located in a dark street away from the busy area but it was nice to walk along the docks to get to the restaurant from the parking lot. Definitely a great place to eat if you're staying at the Perry Hotel.

Afnan T.

Yelp
We had an outdoor dinner by the Marina and it was beautiful. We got here early so we sat by the fire pits and enjoyed the Scenic, calming place. Our hostess was great and all staff wedge wearing masks. The food was absolutely delicious. Snapper catch of the day was very flavorful, the crab bignet were some of the best we had, the Kobe beef was perfect mediuM rare as ordered. All of us enjoyed everything we ordered.

Mary C.

Yelp
Great hotel restaurant. Outside views of all the boats in the marina. We liked the food and the servers. Actually ate their twice and the servers were awesome both times.

Kate F.

Yelp
My friend said it was one of the best meals of his life. While I won't go quite that dramatic, the food was very good and is now one of my fav spots in the Keys for a finer meal. With some past Little Palm employees, they sure do know how to make a good meal in a modern atmosphere. Kale salad - awesome! Fresh catch Mahi with corn bread crust - very good (though next time I may try a different cooking style) S'mores cookies - awesome! Tuna tartare appetizer- amazing! Really fresh! Smoked fish dip- very good, like the chunks of fish Take two: Went there again and had their summer pick 3 special (plus extra appetizers). Octopus appetizer - wow! Good! (Lots of garlic) Crab beignets - delicious (though heavy) Romaine salad was fine, prob wouldn't get again Fish and chips - fine, but prob wouldn't order again (I'm not a big fried food person). Though I did like the way they crisp the fish Banana cake - pretty good!

Jeff F.

Yelp
As always the food, service, atmosphere were all top shelf. This is one of my regular stops when in Key West. Be back soon!!

Candace V.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our dinner on the patio - quite convenient from the Hyatt Beach House !
