Pink Lettuce Is the Photo-Friendly Vegetable Flooding Feeds Right Now | Eater NY

"I learned that at least one usual purveyor, Campo Rosso Farms, wasn’t able to grow any this season due to the cold winter." - Amanda Kludt

Decided to head out to Mauro’s Farm, the best farm here in Pueblo, to grab some green chili and fresh produce! 🌶️🌽🥒 They’ve got everything—beans, corn, cucumbers, bell peppers, jalapeños, garlic, watermelon, cantaloupes, peaches 🍑 and so much more. The place is always super clean, and the customer service is wonderful—everyone is so friendly. I’ve been going there for the last three years, and honestly, it’s hands down the best spot in Pueblo to get your fresh produce. If you haven’t already, go check out Mauro’s out in the county!

The produce was great. The 2 bushels of Chiles were burnt to crisp very hard to peel. The check out lady was yelling at her kid and really rude to me regarding 'all" my products I was purchasing.

Google
Cute Farm shop with lots of items, went in looking for local items to bring to family out of town and was not disappointed.

Google
I always purchase my Pueblo Chilies from Mauro Farms. They are the best! ...and their selection of pastries? Well, let's just say it is hard to choose just a couple items.

The second I walked in I was trying to teach my kids about a piece of equipment at the bakery and Methany, one of the employees walks up and rudely interrupted us with a less than nice greeting. She sure was nice to my husband though.

Google
We stopped in after a football game, and let me tell you- this place is worth the 2 hr drive for what we got today. The only place in Colorado so far where we have found thee most delicious red pork tamales. This location smells like heaven. Fresh cinnamon rolls. A must stop if in Pueblo! We will be back in a couple of weeks for chile!

Google
Love this place! I get my green chile here every year, as well as other produce, beans & delicious baked goods. A+++

Yelp
Originally from Pueblo CO. Mauro Farms is my outlet for Great Potica and other items. If I can't pick it up myself, I just order from the web site, The people are always helpful and friendly. Ordering online is a breeze. Have never had a problem at Mauro farms. It's just a great place and a good remembrance of the old home Holiday feeling,

Yelp
Great produce and bakery items!! So much to select from! Everyone that works there are so polite and ready to answer any questions!!

Yelp
It's a farmer's market specializing in green chilies where you drive to them, on their farm. While the produce is claimed to be grown on site, I have reservations about whether ALL of it has been. They have a variety of dried beans and mixed spices where they don't show where the items are from. Definitely the cheeses or sausages or imported oils are NOT from their farm, as the prices are steeply reflecting of. Sheesh. They have baked goods, but most are frozen immediately which tends to reduce the "freshly baked" idea. It's touristy and cute, but MAN is it pricey!! It is a place to visit, checked that box, but won't likely return.

Yelp
Great selection of herbs and spices. Great selection of frozen pies and fine cookies and baked goods. Unique specialty jarred food that reach out and beg to add to many recipes.

Yelp
Covid guidelines ignored. Employees not wearing masks, gloves etc. inside doors closed. Produce was less than ok. Yes it's off season still. Milk past date by over a month. The thing that's good here are the salsas and seasonings. I question the freshness now though. Shopper beware.

Yelp
I have been making this trip for more than 30 years. Every season I go once or twice for fresh green beans, peaches, and Rocky Ford melons. Can't forget the peaches and cream corn! I buy pumpkins for Halloween along with dried corn stocks to decorate the front yard. Great prices! Great Better than the grocery stores! Great little place, nice people, good products and prices. Worth the drive!!

Yelp
I called them in advance to order Pueblo chili's since their website said to do so. I was told they didn't take orders over the phone but they weren't busy so come on in and they could have the chili's ready in 8-10 minutes. Went there 10 minutes after I called and they had a huge line. That didn't bother me but half of the customers waiting did not have masks on and none of them practiced social distancing. No guidelines from staff. But the worst was that none of the employees had a mask. They don't care!!! My wife and I left and will not return. Not safe there!

Yelp

Yelp
So so so cute!!! It is family owned and operated and they are so friendly. They were out of quit a bit of stuff due to it being the off season but what they did have was so good.. I cannot wait to come back during the holidays when they explained all the pies and seasonal fruit. Great place a little out of the way but worth the trip. Give this family owned business a try it is worth it.

Yelp
A great little local farm store/bakery that is worth the short drive. Choose from a wide variety of baked goods; including multiple types of potica. They also have lots of specialty food items , dry goods, Italian favorites, jordan almonds, old fashioned candy treats. Also find lots of spicy Pueblo chili items. They even had a spicy local honey. I recommend the 16 bean dried beans mix. The woman who opened the store for us was so kind and friendly. It's a quaint stop for some delightful treats. Oh ... and try the strawberry pizzelle cookies. Yum yum!

Dolores L.

Yelp
Love this place my Chile was perfect ship from pueblos co. To New York the best chill thank you for taking good car of my order will order again and again thank you Doloreslinville

Yelp
Sadly, I opened this box of pizzelles to find that the bottom 25% were obviously burned and should have been rejected to the trash, not passed off slyly to good customers. If this had been a box of Keebler cookies I would have been annoyed, but as this is from Mauro Farms...a small family business...I take this kind of thing personally. Why? Because it is personal. I look the people who make the food and farm the produce in the eye when I patronize their business. It is extremely disrespectful to intentionally cheat your customers, especially in such an obvious way (and worthless...how much was saved by switching in burned product? Like, maybe $.01.).

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I love Mauro Farms. My aunt and I get product from them every Christmas. I was thrilled when they started doing deliveries. My aunt is 95 and I'm disabled so having deliveries makes it so much more convenient for us. But I have to save it this year I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a dozen frosted Christmas sugar cookies. I paid $15 for a dozen cookies. When they were delivered I just put them in the refrigerator, I never looked at them because I've always trusted Mauro Farms. I got them out on Christmas morning to put out for my guess and I noticed they weren't decorated like they normally are with reindeer, Christmas trees, wreaths, excetera. Somewhere frosted with a light orange frosting oh, some were frosted with a dark orange frosting. There were some candy sprinkles on top, that were black and orange. I thought this was strange but I was shocked when I noticed one of the candy "sprinkles" was shaped as a pumpkin. I was given a dozen sugar vookies left over from HALLOWEEN! I paid 15.00 for 2 month old cookies. The patitsa was wonderful as usual. The snickerdoodles as usual were wonderful. But to sell two month old cookies for $15 a dozen, that's uncalled for.

Rosanna P.

Yelp
Employees not wearing masks. Came from out of town to visit for the first time. Very arrogant dark haired lady employee. Last time for me. Your food's not that special.

Liz G.

Yelp
amazing & delicious assortment of spices, produce, cookies, honey; angry at myself for not visiting sooner
google avatar

Cecelia B.

Yelp
This is not a bakery with a bakery counter. Huge coolers with pie, bread and such in them. The Potica bread is bland, was so shocked it's considered some kind of coveted bread per the lady in the store. Pecan pie is ok. Just go to your local grocery bakery because it would be better and cheaper. Charge $15.00 for a 9" regular size pie! They label it a large pie too.

Michelle M.

Yelp
ordered a bushel of pickling cucumbers 10 days in advance 3-4 inches for baby dills. Received 2 boxes at $60 dollar and was told they were picked that day? Started prepping to jar and the cucs were 4-5 inches soft about half were bruised and turning brown on the inside! For ordering 10 days in advance and being told they were just picked I was very disappointed

Yelp
Being a NM native and not being able to find any decent chile around COS I was told about Mauro farms in Pueblo. I can say that this place definitely has everything I was looking for. Everything from fresh roasted green chile, Chimayo Red Chile, variety of salsas, and of course lots of fresh picked veggies and fruits. What I also really liked out this place is when they roast your green chile you also have the option to throw in some fresh garlic to roast with your chile!

Yelp
Just received a Potica (nut roll) from this company. Wasn't exactly like my Baba's, but whose is? It was fresh and tasty and the people are nice to deal with over the phone. I saw several things in their catalog that looked delicious and are hard to find.

Carole N.

Yelp
Oh my gosh. The nicest family runs this farm. Extremely helpful. More things in there to buy than you can imagine. Never even heard of half of the dry beans that have to purchase. Family does all of the baking with natural products. And they do ship. And they will roast your peppers while you wait. You can buy in bulk or individually.
