We had a great experience ordering food from Mayuri Restaurant for pickup. The food was delicious, and my family enjoyed every dish we ordered. The service was excellent as well. Yash was very helpful over the phone he patiently answered our questions and made the ordering process smooth and hassle-free. The pickup was quick and well-organized. Overall, good quality food and reliable service. Definitely worth ordering from again.

Posted closing time is 9:30 PM, but staff turned off the lights and forced me to check out at 9:25 while I was still shopping. When I told I have couple items to shop they took the cart of my hands away for billing. All of this WHILE I was shopping. I was the only customer left. If customer aren’t allowed to shop until closing time, they should change their hours. Very disappointing experience.

Small and quaint Indian grocery store with an attached cafe. Their fresh produce section is my favorite. They stock fresh Sapotas when they are in season. I bought a bunch and let them ripen in a paper bag and they taste just like the Sapota I used to eat in India. The idli batter is also great. The best I have tried so far.

Great place as a casual cafe/restaurant. It fills in a hole left by the fire/closing of Chaat n Roll in Issaquah (though the selection is smaller). It's definitely a casual place so expect service accordingly. The cone dosas are great for the kids. Overall the food is quite tasty and the view of the creek accompanies you as you enjoy the flavors. I hope they continue to expand the menu and grow.

Check expiration dates carefully before shopping here. I came across multiple items that were expired (some for over 2 years). Many products had no expiration dates at all, and the explanation given was that they “just haven’t stamped it yet.” This raises serious concerns about product safety. Personally, I would not recommend shopping here.

This place is also a busy grocery store with a multitude of hard to find items from India. Was brought here by friends from India who recommended it for its genuine flavors.

Maurya is amazing. The staff here is so helpful and friendly, I was confused in an aisle and they noticed and came to help. The prices are absolutely incredible, a fraction of what you’d find at chain grocery store. The restaurant portion is also INCREDIBLE. It has been hard finding good Indian food in Issaquah and this is hands down the best yet. The food tasted amazing, authentic, very flavorful, and was made fresh to order. Again, the service was amazing, very kind and helpful when I had questions. I’ll be coming back regularly!

WARNING Please check the expiration date prior to purchasing. I found a bunch of stuff here that were expired like 2 years ago. And a bunch of stuff don’t have expiration date - the lady at register said they just haven’t stamped it yet. Which basically means - it could be old stock. With new expiration dates. I recommend not shopping here.

I ordered dosa but they told me sold out. But customers who came after me ordered dosa and somehow they got them.... I'm Asian.... The other customers were non-Asian.... They discriminate customers according to their race.

Groceries and especially mangoes were really good. Looks a little congested and cluttered when you arrive but the quality of products looked good. Service was good too. Friendly staff.

There are two rooms and we didn't checkout the cafe but it seemed nice! If you're spending over $50 make sure you check in on Yelp for the coupon :)

I've been in Seattle 3 weeks and while I'm probably not making it to Archipelago, I have an early favorite in the local restaurant sweepstakes. I stopped by Mauyea recently to take the hunger edge off. I picked up an onion chili uthuppam (like a savory pancake) with various chutneys (sauces; I like to cut the uthuppam into triangles and cover them with different chutney combinations) and it made for a great dinner, especially paired with this drink. Ain't gonna find this at Walmart anytime soon. I also got a chicken biryani (spicy chicken, medium, with rice) for lunch. It actually made for 3 lunches so there is VALUE here, something rare in Seattle. I'm quite sure that I'll be returning, maybe even next week!

Man, this Dosa was excellent! Just LOOK at that perfect shape. It was flawless. While the service is pretty questionable (and the water is dreadful), this dosa was perfectly made! It was crisp, battery and had very good sauces to complement the crunchiness. Inside, the Masala was very good. It wasn't very spicy and manageable since the spices do the job, so overall impressed! I would come back to Maurya to go, especially because of the price

I am no expert on Indian food. But I happen to be a connoisseur of any and all foods that are crispy and savory and fried (bonus points for deep fried). As you can guess, my all-time faves include lumpia, tempura, lechon kawali, fried chicken, and french fries. The diverse and varied cuisines of the Indian subcontinent add a whole other world of lovely, crispy snacks, and even better is that many of these delicacies are gluten-free, which brings me to this nondescript eatery located in the back of a Indian grocery store and on the banks of Issaquah Creek. I had come upon this place after a tiring hike in the Cascades. The cafe was very busy, and it appeared that I was the only person in the place who wasn't Desi. Most of the people there had ordered dosas. After talking to the very patient person at the counter, I found that the Chicken 65 and Pakoras were also gluten-free, so I went all in and ordered those two plus a Masala Dosa. They had informed me that there would be about a 20-minute wait on the dosa and also asked if it would be okay to bring me out the other two dishes first instead of all at once, which was just fine by me and my loudly complaining empty stomach. Once you have your number, you can sit down at one of the tables inside or at the small sitting area on an adjoining outdoor deck. The Chicken 65 and Vegetable Pakora came out after a short wait, and it was my first time eating this mysteriously named chicken dish. The coating was rich with flavor, a light crunch on the outside and even more juicy flavors on the inside. It came with two raw onion rings and a small lime. The lime added another dimension to the flavors. Now, pakora, I have had before. Their pakora was extra crispy and spicy, and shot up to the top of my list of best pakora in and around the Seattle area. Then the dosa arrived. Their dosas are gigantic and likely meant to be shared. It came with a small red, spicy chutney and a tan somewhat sweet chutney, as well as a red spicy soup. I noticed that all the other patrons were eating with their hands, tearing off little pieces and dipping it into the chutneys, which to be honest is my preferred way of eating. The dosa experience was exceptional, with the crepe-like dosa giving a unique tanginess from the fermentation process, coupled with the spiciness of the masala and potato filling. Then, when you dip it into one of the accompanying chutneys, your mouth is filled with awesome, unique flavors and textures that I absolutely enjoyed again and again. If you are every hiking one of the many trails along I-90 and are looking for exciting meal options on the way back to Seattle, I highly recommend Maurya Indian Grocery and Cafe. Or find a friend and share one of their delicious dosas together. Or do both!

Indian grocery store and restaurant! The Indian grocery stores have all the regular grocery items including fresh veggies. The restaurant makes fresh dosas, Biryanis and curries and also has various curries to go available immediately.

Such authentic Indian food. I love the naan and all the curry dishes. All the years I've lived in Issaquah, I was under the impression maurya was only a small market. It's right on the creek. Come wander in for an unexpected treat. The owners and staff are very friendly and patient as it is difficult to decide at times... I highly recommend.

Stopped by for their weekend brunch - I ordered chole bhature + filter coffee. Good was good. Coffee was amazing. Good was freshly made and out in time. The restaurant though does not separate recycle, compost and landfill - a little disappointing. Service was good Love the river out the window - it makes for a peaceful meal. I do think that they can make the eating area a little more whimsical or appealing.

This little gem is absolutely phenomenal! I was taken here by my best friends mom, who found it through a friend. You enter through the grocery, make your way to the back and turn left, voilá, you are there. There is counter service, and a QR code for the menu and also big screens behind the counter, but my brain neglected to remember my glasses, so I couldn't see anything. At any rate the online menu is weird, somehow I got all the items alphabetically and a lot more choices turned we both got the chicken lunch box. Your choice of chicken curry with your level of spice, or mild butter chicken. You also get biriyani, white rice, beet salad, dal, a flatbread and a yogurt sauce. We also got an order of veg samosas, that came with tamarind and mint chutney. Gawd!!! The samosas were the best I have ever had. Soft, warm, stuffed with a slightly spicy filling. I could just eat these. Every day. Then the huge lunch box plate was waiting on a plastic tray. The butter chicken was tandoori pieces in the most delicious creamy butter curry. Her curry chicken was a brownish curry with bone in chicken pieces and medium spice was pretty hot. The yogurt sauce helped to cool it down. The small cup of dal was seasoned so well, a touch of spice and perfect to dip the bread in. I do not like beets, but they were the best beet salad I've ever tried. My friend loved them. The rice was fluffy, perfectly cooked. There was also dessert included, which was a milk based doughnut soaked in a sugar sauce. For $13.99 the lunch box was enough for two meals, so worth it. The atmosphere was basic, but pretty charming considering the large windows looked out on a creek teeming with ducks and other birds. Love this place!

Chicken 65 biryani was so bad, it was white rice mixed in with raw chicken masala. Do not recommend this place.

We did dinner takeout from Maurya last night and loved our dinner. We picked from their weekend special menu, and got Appam with chicken stew, Chettinadu goat biryani, Pepper chicken, and Egg chilly. The Appam is a little different from what we make, but good, loved the chicken stew it comes with, wish we got a more of it. The Chettinadu biryani and egg chilly were good. The standout item for us was the Pepper chicken, we absolutely loved it.

I was drawn to their kitchen/Takeout restaurant by the aroma of biriyani, People were waiting for sometime for the batch to be ready,,, I decided to try them out, and the biriyani was extraordinary, straight out of Hyderabad . Gongura Goat Biriyani was absolutely tasty. The meat was tender and the rice was flavourful.

Food is not edible for the reasons of: curry taste might be good - buttery but the chicken is definitely not edible. It's way too dry, the texture seems like it has been sitting for days. Secondly, it was not warm - room temperature, maybe their container is not great for 4.8 stars on Uber. We had to microwave it. For naan, we got burnt naan - can't eat it. The rice, it's also burnt/toasted, room temp too! Totally not ordering again!

Very burnt and food with a lot of chilli. We had biriyani, fish fry and chicken curry. Absolutely couldn't eat and didn't want to save for leftovers. Would suggest you avoid.

It's a pretty small cafe behind a grocery store. Opens at 11am. I like the ambience as it's next to a river and pretty chilled out place. The food is pretty good with big portions (very filling). The kids loved the cone dosa. And the chicken dosa was pretty good too. The Indian tea and coffee were very well done. Definitely will be back to try more items on the menu.

Zero stars. I recently placed an order for chicken 65 to take away, but unfortunately there was no salt in the food. Upon bringing this to their attention, they didn't even apologize, they just said we will note it down .. Kids just spit the food. I must say that I found the entire experience to be quite disappointing.

Well, to go for my fav street food. Too salty is my complaint, but red sauce was yummy, spicy side. Will try dosa and report back

The service here is terrible and the people are rude. The restaurant in the past was nice but it seems that there is some one else in charge. We have been here quite a few times since then and today was definitely the last. We saw them taking frozen food out of the boxes and simply Re heating it and serving it. Not only that the bread was stale brittle and had bits of mold growing in the center. My wife sent me to get naan as her parents were visiting and she didn't make any. She was more than a little bit angry with me when I returned with moldy bread.

This is an Indian grocery store and restaurant in Issaquah and it's a real hidden gem! The store itself is small but it's packed with everything you would need to cook up some Indian cuisines! They have boxes of spice kits to make every kind of curry imaginable, Indian yogurt, produce, teas (like assam, chai, and darjeeling), huge bags of basmati rice, dried dal, and frozen samosas & in the freezer! And they have aisles filled with sweet and savory snacks too. The best part of this place is the small restaurant/cafe at the back. The first time I ever visited the cafe, we ordered the spring dosa, the chicken 65 biryani, and samosa. The spring dosa, which the cashier recommended as his favorite, seemed more like a dosa burrito - it was packed with veggie filling and cheese. It was good but it was huge! The chicken 65 biryani was really good too. Recently I went back twice to pick up food to-go. The first I ordered the masala dosa, which is just a plain dosa with potato masala filling. It was delicious and it came with a variety of sauces to eat it with! The second time, my friend and I ordered the onion rava masala dosa and the goat biryani for to-go. The rava dosa is different from the traditional dosa in that it's made with rava (which when I looked it up said it was semolina). The texture of the rava dosa was a lot crispier and had pieces of red onion in the batter! The potato filling on this one was a little saltier this time around. The goat biryani was really good - the goat meat was tender. Food coma from so much carbs. Can't wait to go back to the eastside to try more of their dosa! Each time we had to wait 10-15 minutes for our orders, so we spent the time shopping around the grocery store! Lots of people were ordering to go too!

What happens when you sail on two boats at the same time? You fuck up !! That's what this place is doing. The grocery store smells aweful. You need to clean your floor. Like EVERYDAY !! Walking around the store is so annoying. The sticky surface freaks the hell out of me. And then they almost always are understaffed in the kitchen and so they keep the restaurant closed. But bhai saab you got to do a better job communicating. Write on Yelp, write on google, update your customers if you value them else they won't value you. People drive from far off hoping for some food and then you smile sheepishly and say "sir, we are understaffed and so we decided to close". So freaking annoying. I have been here twice thinking to give them a chance and not base my review on a one off incident. I definitely would recommend people not waste their time going here.

I love their uttapams madrasi coffee and their dosas. Sambar is good too Ive never tried anything else because I can't get past these two items. Nice grocery store too although small. I would definitely recommend this place if you feel like some South Indian food

Place an order to be delivered through DoorDash. That service was prompt. However, the restaurant was out of rice. There was no option to add a side order and the menu was not clear on if main dishes came with it, so I added a comment to please make sure to include rice. When the order arrived without rice, I called the restaurant and was told they were out. I should have received a phone call to inform me and at minimum, a discount on the other food. Sadly, this is not the first time they have been out of rice. Rice is a staple of Indian culture. And this little cafe is in the back of a grocery store! They have no excuse to be out of rice.

What would I have done without this Indian grocery store in issaquah. Before I knew about this place I had to drive all the way up to Bellevue to get the Indian grocery supplies. But once we found out about this place, it was a game changer. They stock up the veggies every Thursday evening so that's when you get them fresh. They may be short on variety of brands compared to other bigger grocery stores in Bellevue but for weekly needs they are great. We really love the idli and dosa batter they sell here. The owner is ever smiling and always helpful. Their restaurant is good for takeout as well. I have tried the chicken 65, idli and dosa. Dosa was a little chewy but the other two items were tasty and up to the mark. Glad I have this store in the neighborhood.

Maurya has been place for our veggie's since couple years now! We always used to have south Indian tiffin's, which was always as expected taste and excellent. Recently upon someone recommendation have been ordering togo for their special chicken fried and mannn! Chef had magic in hands! AmaZing! Superb taste! Just VOW! Community out there you have to try! MUST! Don't just shy off thinking it's just a fried rice, I am personally blown away! Thanks team maurya!

Maurya Cafe is an eatery behind the grocery store. The staff are kind and helpful and I enjoy doing my grocery here. My go tos here is the Paneer 65 biryani. For all vegetarians out there, this is a delightfully spicy paneer biryani. The samosas here are also extremely tasty and fresh. I've also had the Masala dosa here which is good. Great place for take out during these Covid times.

This review is for the restaurant. I previously reviewed the grocery. I had a Mysore masala dosa with a chai. My friend had a goat biryani. Kids has cheese dosa. My food was great and so was my friend's. The Goat biryani was tender and well flavored. The masala dosa was also well prepared and the chutneys and sambhar was good. The chai was nice with lots of cardamom. The kids cheese dosa was good but there will foil remnants in one of them. I figure they use Amul cheese and someone didn't check carefully when spreading it that a bit of the packaging had gotten inside. The tables could use a better cleaning between customers. It's good and affordable but I knocked off a couple of stars for food safety and cleanliness

Didn't disappoint at all. Looking at yelp reviews, I was initially a bit skeptical to try this place. I am glad I decided to give it a shot. The quality of their Chicken Curry and Chicken 65 Biryani was really really good and authentic. Loved it. Prices are very reasonable, in fact it's lower compared to other restaurants in the area. Samosa, Medu Vada and Sambar are asking other things we tried. All were decent. They have some of the authentic South Indian delicacies.

Still a solid 5! I would recommend you stick to their South Indian specials and you'll be happy. Tired their fried idlis and vada today. Delicious! Also, reasonably sized grocery store. Not as big it's main competition but good enough for what is needed. Their produce section is a bit lacking.

This review is for their food service. I will not call it restaurant. Wish there was an option to give negative rating. We tried 6 items and paid about 70 USD and none of them was tasty. We ordered Goat curry and it was pathetic. Seemed as if it was leftovers where curry was watery and pieces were all bones. Chicken lollipops was small portion and bad in taste. The chicken didn't seem to be fresh. Dosa is a simple dish and they messed here too. It was probably prepared from spoilt dough. We ordered Paneer 65 and the cook forgot the 65 masala and gave us unsalted fried paneer. Cool also was in confused state if Malabar parathas are to be cooked or uncooked. Overall I wasted my money and my family stayed hungry. I hated to do this but I had to throw a lot of food.

Found this place while searching for Black Cardimom... they're helpful and friendly. Easy to find place, right off Gilman. I didn't have time to really look around but it's larger than I expected, two rooms of groceries and a full wall of spices. I'm. It a fan of Indian food but after I left I regretted not checking to see what kind of candy selection they had.

Love the egg biryani from this place and it's our weekly takeout. Also, they are pretty flexible, one time we didn't find the one of the curry on grub hub menu and gave them call to check, they asked us to add another item of same cost and replaced it with the curry we wanted. 3 star because we ordered a new item today, vegetable fry, which said veggies cooked in authentic indian spices, but what we received was dry chickpea cooked with coconut.

I have ordered Mysore masala dosa and special of the day Natu Kodi Varaval. Dosa was brilliant one of the best dosas i have had but the other chicken appetizer really disappointed me. Dosas at this place are really good.

Updating to 5 stars (long overdue). This is the friendliest Indian grocery store/restaurant. Staff always have a smile and a greeting as you walk in (which is rare in Indian stores) and often someone will ask if they can help me find something. Their yogurt and dosa/idli batters are excellent. Restaurant is good for quick meals. Their dosas are the best I've had and they also have homey foods like masala omelette, rotis and curries etc. Don't forget to get your own reusable bags for groceries and if you pay cash you get a discount!

Right of the bat, their website was down because they hadn't renewed their domain. I still went ahead and ordered a Fish 65 and a Mysore Masala Dosa through DoorDash. My bad. If there was a blander dosa ever made, it'd taste like tap water. The dosa was big, I'll give them that, but it was absolutely tasteless. The sambar was too salty. Fish was lacking salt and any taste. 1/2 of the dosa went in the trash. I've been to the shop once, to pick up groceries. It looked ok, although they didn't have a large stock. In my experience, Kirkland has better South Indian restaurants.

It's been a couple of weeks now and there is a huge improvement here. They have a really nice selection of items in the store that cover most needs. Everything was very neat and clean and well organized. The fresh veggies and fruit need some attention though since many of them looked like they had been sitting out a while and were starting to go bad. Once business picks up and there's more churn, I guess this will solve itself but until then it would be wise to check these carefully before buying. In terms of the eatery in the back, it was absolutely wonderful. We've tried a few dishes so far and everything is extremely authentic and reasonably priced.The Mysore Masala dosa and the Sambar were the absolute stars. Reminds me of my grandmother's cooking back home (which is about as high a compliment I can give to south Indian food). My wife andI are looking forward to trying out many more dishes here and we're pretty sure this is going to be our regular goto staple place going forward for fresh, healthy and reasonably priced Indian meals. Highly recommended.

Good place for Indian food. A bit on the spicy side but food tastes delicious. The reason I'm taking off one star is that one of the times, the samosa and the Biryani we ordered were not great. Overall good experience!

The front desk staff is not so friendly. They can give nice experience to people. The scan menu is so bad and if we ask for menu they will say just scan it ( angry voice). A smile on the face don't cost any money. The food is ok.

Went to the cafe on a whim and had take-out lunch box. - Missing main entree from the order - Undercooked bread Ended up throwing half of the food. Tue only saving grace was samosas in the meal.

It lacks ambience but that gives it ambience. Haha.. The best Masala Dosa in town! We will come back.

Maurya is an Indian grocery store cum restaurant around Gilman st in Issaquah. We came here for a quick lunch as we had to get back within an hour. We ordered Mysore Masala dosa, Spring dosa and onion dosa. We also got vegetable manchurian for starters. Some of the dosas took long time to get to the table when it was just one other table at the restaurant when we went. We asked for water several times and still no one got us water. It's a self serve restaurant but my colleague wanted warm water and had to ask several times to the guy who was just staring at the two tables. So taking a star out for not so good service. The prices were really reasonable. Mostly everything on the menu was less than $10. Dosas were good and filling. The sambar however was very bland. The chutneys were not fresh either but didn't taste too bad. The spring dosa which supports to be healthier version of the dosas was good too. The onion dosa had too much onions half of which were uncooked. Overall a good place to grab a bite and do some grocery shopping. I didn't take a look at the stock in detail but I feel they should keep better and fresh variety of vegetables to entice more people to come and shop. I am coming back to check out their grocery section in more detail next time.

They have one of the best Indian food in Greater Seattle area. Our go to is the Chicken 65 Biryani and Mysore Masala Dosa. The food carries a ton of flavor and has the right level of spice. This place reminds me of the good, hole in the wall Desi Restaurants in Jamaica, NY or Edison, NJ - glad we found this.

Hands down amongst the top 3 Indian restaurants in the Seattle area for the following items which i have eaten here - 1. Chicken Biryani 2. Spring Dosa 3. Chicken 65 4. Butter chicken and Butter Naan 5. Chicken 65 Biryani Will definitely recommend .

I absolutely love a number of their dishes! The new filter flag says they have outdoor dining, yet we see no pictures of that. Please post photos of your outdoor dining and I will add it to my outdoor dining list.

Chicken BOMB. This is the best chicken dish so good that you would be coming back over and over just to have this. I never had anything like this before. It is chicken stuffed in coconut baked in tandoor. Very tasty and definitely must have item. Thank you Jabjitsingji for suggestion.

Love this place. I plan to go here every time I visit relatives in the Seattle area. The restaurant is located in the back of a grocery with large windows that have a picturesque view of a flowing river. The food tastes homemade, delicious without any frills. The masala dosa is wonderful. Good sambar, painfully spicy malabar spinach pickle (in a good way), addictive eggplant and paneer masala, and tomato chutney so tasty that I could eat a bowl of it with a spoon. My only criticism: one time we ordered the spring dosa and it arrived with yellow Tex-Mex cheese inside instead of crumbled paneer. (We had eaten the one with paneer before, so we knew what to expect.) The Tex-Mex dosa was pretty unappetizing. It just tasted weird. It would be better for the restaurant to take an item off the menu, or say it's unavailable that day, than to serve something sub-par to otherwise loyal customers.
