"Maury’s continues to stand out amid LA’s influx of bagel shops in recent years. The middle-of-the-neighborhood hotspot is doing some of the best bagel sandwiches anywhere. It helps that owner Jason Kaplan and his crew are also among the nicest people in town. The bagels by themselves hold their own, but adding some cream cheese and lox really makes the chewy exterior and flavorful toppings shine. Vegan cashew spread is also available if avoiding dairy. While seating at Maury’s is limited, taking the bagel to a nearby park is a sure bet for a good time." - Rebecca Roland
