Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi

The Mausoleum, the city’s main attraction, spans a vast area and is surrounded by numerous smaller attractions. The place is meticulously maintained, making it a delightful destination for a stroll, especially during the evening. The mausoleum itself is magnificent, its turquoise color outshining the surrounding landscape. While some sections are undergoing renovation, tickets are required for those interested in exploring the interior. Within the vicinity, there are several local shops selling souvenirs and local products. Overall, we had a wonderful time exploring the place, especially considering the favorable weather conditions.

Ok, so the mausoleum itself is stunning. The pseudo amusement park they built around it is not. Of course its a must visit when in turkistan.

Impressive mausoleum with beautiful mosaic tilework. I bought a ticket to see the inside but honestly just admiring it from the outside was already worth it.

Absolutely stunning! We came here twice in daytime and sunset, I was still amazed how beautiful it is.

It’s a UNESCO heritage… Someone who loves heritage and history.. a must place to visit in Kazakhstan… recommend to visit during spring or winter. ..

This is a gorgeous mausoleum and definitely worth a visit when you are in Turkistan. It is located right in the middle of the old city centre. The outside walls (not all of them are old, some are renovated) are beautifully decorated with blue and black patterns. You pay 500 tenge to go inside, either with cash or with a QR-code, to see the inside of the mausoleum. The surrounding area is also with a stroll, where you can see the well-maintained gardens and other attractions such as a bath house and a mosque.
