All in all a good experience. People are very nice. Food is a solid 3 1/2 stars. The burger was cooked good, but could have used a little more seasoning. I really cannot complain. I would definitely return

Loved the gluten free bun option! Great staff and space, and really dog friendly! The train stopping by is the only downside for me since it’s noisy. Fun vibes.

Maverick Jack's is a great place for lunch. I found the hamburger I ordered extremely delicious. The fries are some of the best I have tasted in my life. I also had strawberry lemonade, which was very refreshing. The atmosphere is relaxing. The service is friendly and the food came fast. I will certainly be back in the future.

The food was good, but a little pricey. Service was good and our waitress was very accommodating, letting us know that they could even make a burger for our dog We sat in the patio area because we had our dog with us. It's a great place to bring your dog. They have synthetic grass, picnic tables, and the patio had plenty of room for my dog to lie down under the table and walk around. We will definitely be coming back to this place!

Had a great experience here and would highly recommend this place. Maverick Jack regular burger was excellent! Cooked perfectly, fresh bun, fresh vegetables, and so like the flavor of the Maverick Jack’s sauce. This was a quality burger all around. The fries were fine and tasted hot and fresh…but honestly nothing worth remembering. Good fries - but nothing out of the ordinary. The burger was much better than the fries. The star of the show though was the vanilla malt I had. That malt was one of (if not the) best malt I have ever had!! It was excellent. Amber took good care of the, as did the gentleman who brought me my burger, and the person who cleaned up my table when I was done. Nice place, very clean, very cozy and relaxing. Easy access and plenty of (free) parking. All and all just great food, deserts, and a pleasant dinning experience! Would definitely recommend!

This place is awesome! It’s just a burger joint but their food is definitely a cut above and their staff is phenomenal. So many servers go through the motions these days but both everyone here is focused on the customer. Plus they have Deschutes on tap so what else is there to say?

I was visiting from out of town and looking for a good burger spot. This place is so good I ended up visiting twice in 24 hours. Highly recommend. Also, I hope they keep the fries and tots using beef tallow as an option going forward. Much more flavorful. The second visit it seemed there was only 1 waitress working all the tables, but she got us taken care of although a little bit slow.

This place really hit the spot! Not your average diner. Cozy, clean little place right next to the railroad tracks. Has a lot of character. All of the food is amazing from the kids meals, to the burgers, to the chicken. Perfect experience from start to finish. Will definitely go back if we're in the area again.

We came here for a birthday lunch celebration. It was great! Very fun, family and dog friendly restaurant. We ate outside and had a good time. Loved the ambiance. LUNCH Bacon Ultimatum with fried pickles- the burger was OK, I got it well done (rookie mistake) and it was dry for me. I took a bite of someone else's Classic burger (medium) + bacon and it was a lotttt better. The pickles were a little bit too thick for me, but I always love me anything pickle. It was worth a try, but sticking to fries next time I would come back again. It does get a little bit loud with Caltrain coming by, but since it was the weekend, the train did not pass too often. Parking is also kinda weird and limited, so I can't imagine what it would be like for a lot of people to come for a party or event.

I'm not sure what happened today @ Maverick Jack's place but my hubby and I got such POOR SERVICE from LUCAS!! :( We were so excited to come there again since we live in San Francisco! We can always rely on Maverick Jack's for yummy good burgers..fries..onion rings and their delicious real ice cream shakes! :)) I was craving for egg on my burger today and I got it but we wish the customer service was better! So let me start where and what happened! As we got parking...we got inside & in front of the desk area were like 4 servers hanging out! It was nice that they actually greeted us & by another girl who later I saw left to go home for the day! She suggested to be seated in the back area where there was more sunlight but I wanted to be seated @ our regular seats near the picture of the train closer to the doorway! We are good regulars that come there coz back then no never had any issues with great customer service until today..3/2/2025! :(( That's where I saw Giana working! Maybe we should have been seated there! We sincerely regret it!! Anyways...upon looking @ the menu..this tall husky with curly black hair named Lucas came over to ask us if we wanted anything to drink? I got the vanilla/chocolate shake & my hubby got Arnold Palmer! We gave our order to him but I must say..when we were ordering our food..I could tell he wasn't really into his job! He didn't give a nice smile or a hello or even how are you doing?!! Just took our order and felt like let's get this over with! Ughhh! Soo Sad!! But I wanted to give him another chance to see and observe the rest of his service to us! Let me observe! Approximately 15mins..he came to deliver our food! It smelled soo good! We were both pleased of our food outcome! The only thing missing was my extra garlic aioli sauce..everything was great! That part was a thumbs up!! ;)) As we were almost finishing our meal..I noticed Mr. Lucas sat down on one of those back lounge tables In the middle area where the door was opened! Saw one of his co workers sat with him holding a shake! Hmmm..I guess Lucas was on a break?!? I'm not sure coz after he gave us our food..he was MIA for a loooonng time! He didn't even communicate to tell us if he's on break nor came to follow up on us to refill of drinks or my water!?! :0 I had to flag this cute Asian girl who didn't seemed happy to be there too! OMG..what's going on today?!!! No one smiling @ all today except for Giana whom I knew before when she served us way back ago along side Fabiana the store manager! Both ladies are SUPERB! Giana..thank God was there with her beautiful smile best customer service helped us get a box..a bag and our bill coz we needed to go home! I'm so disappointed of the service my hubby and I received today by LUCAS!! I found out he used to be a Hostess?!? Seriously??? He needs NOT TO BE A SERVER!!! He needs to learn how to be respectful and do his job better in terms of following up on your customers occasionally!?!? :0 Ten thumbs Up for Giana being there today! She made our ending of our yummy meal Awesome!! :)) I want Fabiana and Michael to know that Service on a slow Sunday shouldn't be this bad and sadly it was for us today! :( I wasn't happy! I think Fabiana as a Store Manager needs to have a good chat and retrain Mr. Lucas! I don't know the guy but the next time I see him..wish him lots of luck! Hopefully..he'll be better the next customers he helps! My thought is if a person coming to work is not work ready not happy to be there..please stay home coz people who spends good money on food deserves great service! Your tips reflect on how well you do too! This is a cute burger joint close to downtown Burlingame & the caltrain station. The servers amd hostess were super friendly and fast to make recommendations. I really enjoyed the candy bar sundae. They have a variety of sundaes and desserts to choose from. I opted for the blue cheese burger (no tomatoes) with a side salad and some onion rings. The burger patty itself was plain and lackluster, but all together it made a decent combo. The onion rings were delicious!

A friend suggested coming to this place for lunch and I'm so glad he did -- it was definitely one of the best places I ate at while visiting NorCal. We must have been close enough to Gilroy, the garlic capital of the world because they knew exactly how to incorporate it well! I got the bacon Ultimatum Burger and he got the teriyaki chicken sandwich with a salad and was raving about how good it was! He said the chicken was cooked perfectly and salad was night and light. My burger was great and my upgraded garlic Parmesan fries were so tasty! Unlike other garlic parm fries I had during my trip up north, these were bursting with flavor to the point where I really sat there and ate the entire generous serving because I didn't want to waste the goodness! We went around 1pm on a Tuesday and were the only ones in there. The service was great, despite being the only ones there our waitress was still really attentive and refilling our drinks constantly. The music was good and the vibes were nice inside. They do have patio seating but we opted to stay inside to stay cool. The restrooms were also clean too. The train tracks are right next to this place so if you're with kids or anyone that enjoys trains that part will be exciting. I think the train went by us once and it really wasn't a bother for us. Definitely would love to come back here, get the garlic Parmesan fries again and try some of the other great stuff on the menu!

We recently had a fantastic dining experience at Maverick Jacks in Burlingame. Our large party dined on the outdoor patio for a birthday party, and we were thoroughly impressed with both the food and the service. Our server, Laura, was phenomenal. She was incredibly helpful, attentive, and one of the best servers I've ever encountered. Her exceptional service truly made our visit special. I enjoyed the Impossible Burger, which was delicious, and the variety of sides--onion rings, french fries, and sweet potato fries--were all equally tasty. The ambience on the patio was delightful, despite the occasional train horn blowing. It added a bit of local charm to our experience. The entire staff was great, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Maverick Jacks provided an excellent dining experience with outstanding service and delicious food. Highly recommended!

Overall just a standard experience. I got the basic "classic" burger and it wasn't anything special. The meat was a bit bland and could have used a bit more salt. At $16+ burger I expected something more tasty. The restaurant could be kind of loud with the CalTrain passing through, but it's a cute restaurant and the service was good.

Two adults and we LOVED the TRAINS speeding by. Had we had little children we would have made this a train adventure and educational experience followed by a burger, fries, and shake. Food? Well, we've had better burgers nearly everywhere. The fries were excellent. My husband loved the Valentine berry Shake. You can order less expensive child-size shakes and enjoy the experience of an actual old train station and up to 80 mph of exciting choo-choo zipping by.

A real American burger joint. In the right spot with all the excitement of the railroad train passing by while heaving a well done burger with fries along with some good San Fransokyo salad. Cool ambience inside and out. Three outside patios, inside there are few small and large party tables. Pleasant and friendly, welcoming service by all personnel. Overall, very good experience and will be glad to be back.

Was in town visiting and found this restaurant. Not a bad burger joint. Really liked the decor and ambiance, very cozy. The train setup is also very cute. Food was alright. Just typical burger fare!

Great burgers and fries. Delicious shakes! They have gluten free buns as an option and even asked if it was an allergy or a preference. Also has impossible burgers and black bean patties. Lots and lots of outdoor seating, has heaters for colder weather.

Tucked on the corner of a very busy crossroad! Entrance to parking is narrow and if you do not drive slowly you will miss it. Service was ok. Food was comparable to that of other diner food. Burgers weren't bad; just average. Shakes were average. Overall: an average experience :) thanks!

I really like this place but there are a couple of improvements that I think could be made. Having eaten here several times now, the burger always gets to the table a bit cold, like it had been waiting to long to be picked up by the server. Food should always be served after prep as soon as possible. The milk shakes are excellent but would benefit from being in the mixer just a little bit longer so it's a little easier to get through the straw. Overall I love the friendliness of the servers and except for the above mentioned comment, the food is very good. I will remain a return customer, just being a little picky

If burgers are your thing, this spot is a good choice (well, after all, that's the bulk of their menu choices). They could flatten the patty a bit cause it felt too bulky, but it would risk losing its juices, yet the patties were slightly overcooked. Fries are solid and not overly salty. Service is great, though it was early and only a few people were dining. Love the location, good ambiance and decor with indoor or outdoor seating, though parking can be an issue. The train roars right next to the restaurant, but I didn't find it too distracting.

This place was amazing. We had two burgers and a shake. Overall, the service and food were exceptional. We love the dining experience here and how friendly the staff was. We will be back for sure. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.

Me and my friend ordered 2 burgers with fries and a vanilla milk shake. And iam sorry but it was bad.. The milk shake was watery and had a powdery taste to it. The Burger's.. they are NOT worth the $20.00 a Burger. Mine was raw in the middle and cold. $56.00 for 2 burgers with fries,fries might be extra not sure? And the $12.00 milk shake was not worth it at all. I was excited to hear they were the same people that had Jack's prime in San Mateo,at least I thought they were. I love Jack's prime in San Mateo ,this was in No way shape or form the same people that had Jack's prime Burger's. I read the review's before ww went .I guess its my fault for assuming they were the same in through first place. Iam sorry I live on a fixed income and i really can't afford to waste my money again .

Tonight we went to dinner at Maverick Jack's with our daughters softball team. Because we were a large party, we had the entire outside to ourselves. It was a cold night and unfortunately one of the outdoor heaters seemed to be on the fritz. The food itself was ok. Not bad. But not really anything to brag about. I did enjoy the tater tots as an appetizer though as they were cooked to perfection. For my entree I decided on the Soprano Chicken burger with fries. The burger itself was cooked well but not very flavorful. And the fries were quite bland. The best part of my meal was the Candy Bar Crunch Sundae we had for desert. The true highlight of the night though was our waitress Amber. Our group of 15 twelve year old girls, their siblings and their parents was a large group to handle and she did so with flying colors! Not only did she keep things organized between all the families, but she did so with a cheerful attitude the entire time. I almost gave a 5 star just for her great service alone. Being someone who used to work in the customer service field, and where it seems that good customer service is becoming a lost art, I am big on good service. For that reason I will definitely be back to Maverick Jack's in the future.

My oldest child has severe autism and this is a place that he loves. Cheeseburgers and trains for the win. The staff is accommodating and the food is delicious. My youngest loves the fried pickles and their burgers are always cooked to order. It is a bit expensive, but they have a great rewards program to offset the cost for frequent visitors. We try to go during off hours so as not to disturb other patrons, but staff and clientele is understanding and kind .

My husband and I went here on a Sunday afternoon and we were seated right away. There was only one other table at the restaurant because it was 3PM. After ordering, the food came out in 15 mins. My husband ordered the classic hamburger and I ordered the Monterey Express. Both burgers were juicy and we liked the garlic sauce. The veggies were crunchy and the tots were not too greasy.

I stopped here after taking some passengers to SFO. I had a craving for a good burger and thought I would stop here. There is both a indoor and outdoor dining area. Outdoor is dog friendly with dog water bowls and fake grass. I didn't have my dog with me but I wanted so fresh air. Jeanette, my food server was incredibly friendly. I asked for an 805 to start (goes great with good burgers) but they don't carry it. She said they had another that I may like and I could have a sample to see if I liked it. It was pretty good, almost as good as my fave, 805. My burger (The Outlaw) came out very quick. So tasty! Loved the fries too!! Burger was not dry or swimming in sauce and the fries were fresh and hot! Jeanette was such a great server. Great sense of humor and very good at what she does! I will be back!!

Decent pick up food spot. Hamburgers and fries. We got in 15 mins before closing and the young man said we would have to take the food To Go. That's fine- we got a beer and waited. Seems like a nice spot to have a coffee in the morning before taking the train into the city or a quick bite and beer during the commute home. Burgers and fries were good. Can't remember anything good nor bad about them indicating a basic burger but satisfying. On the pricier side imo but if it's ok your way home, I'd give it a try. I would actually like to try it again and get to enjoy that nice patio.

Great value $15 special included a great hamburger, great French fries, and a Diet Coke. The lettuce was full leaf, with ripe tomatoes and an excellent type of pickle. I added nothing to it because it was perfect, even medium rare! Free parking was nice, too! Service from Giana was excellent! I got the single outside table with a fan (no flies )

Love the ambiance and look of Maverick Jacks. The inside is very nice to sit in, the music is nice, and it's really great being next to Caltrain. The service is also really great! Each server is very fast and seems happy to answer any question you have. We had a question about one of the beers and a bartender came up to answer our question. The food is good. Not the best burger that I have had but a good one! The burger is juicy and has a unique sauce that I like. The fries were very fresh and tasty. The best part of the meal was the peanut butter chocolate shake. Genuinely one of the best shakes I have ever had. If you're in the area, this is a good spot to hit up!

Came in to get...what else...a burger of course. Got the Outlaw burger with fries and had the toughest time placing an order. Here's the bottom line, the burger here don't tatse like they are freshly ground, it's just your standard burger with some toppings. They taste like preformed meat patties from a box. The price of the burger is double the price of normal restaurant burgers and the fries were cold when I got them and not hand cut. I think they're from a bag and just fried, then they charge you more than the price of say better fries from like Wingstop.

Everything was exceptional! I had the Asian teriyaki chicken salad that was fantastic. My husband loved his burger. The staff were very nice and dog friendly. We will be back :)

Well it's an expensive burger joint and a runny milkshake. For $40. Came in for the holiday. Not too busy around 1:15. Wasn't too hungry so me and the wife split a burger and tots . Ordered a chocolate shake. And two waters. Burger came cut in half already. And portions split. Asked if we needed anything else . Asked for mayonnaise and mustard. That never happened. But we had ketchup on the table. But why ask and not get it. Just to let you know the restaurant closes (kitchen) at 1:30 . So she wasn't busy. Milk shake was on the milky side, hardly any chocolate flavor. I would go elsewhere for a burger and shake.

Interesting location. Way too close to the train station that you can see a front view of the train speeding by while dining. Danette was our server. She was very kind and helpful. Our food was okay. We ordered salads pickle chips and a burger to go. I honestly think their salads are not the highlight in the menu therefore I couldn't give them a better score. Unfortunately portion and presentation of the salad did not match the price. The pickle chips weren't your usual kind, more like battered pickle slivers.

Food is almost always extraordinary. We dine here probably once every 2 weeks. My friend ordered her burger medium and mine medium rare and they were perfect. Only flaw was that service was somewhat unattentive: 6 waitstaff helping 8 tables with each table having 2-5 patrons and we weren't even checked-on for water refills, let alone asking if we needed anything or, "how is your food?"

Service, great. Food, great. Overall, great! You will not be disappointed when you come to Maverick Jacks. I've been there a couple times and both times have been amazing. The food is tasty, the service is fast, and the atmosphere is friendly. They have two options for seating: indoor and outdoor. If the weather is warm, I highly recommend sitting outside. I ordered the Monterey Express burger during both visits. The bun is nicely toasted. The meat was cooked exactly as I had requested. The bacon is salty and crispy. The avocado is perfectly ripe. If you're looking for a nice spot for a great bite to eat, you should definitely check out Maverick Jack's. You will leave feeling full and happy!

Great atmosphere inside and outside which is nicely covered. Great location to bring your dog with you (pet friendly). Staff was nice but barely around would have liked to see more of a presence for the chance a customer needed anything. The Monterey Express was a great burger. Their buns are fluffy not too dense. The beef patty was juicy even for medium well and nicely flavored. Also had a Cobb salad which was average. But still five stars for the burger. Not very busy during our meal and service was good.

It amazes me that they are able to stay open. Prices are outrageous for very average food. Even the portions are average of not on the smaller side. Ordered a beer from the draft menu and was brought a can, which sums up much of what this place is. I guess the only good thing I can say is it was empty and easy to get a table.

The outdoor area has artificial turf and I think dogs would be welcome. * Service was an easy five stars. Our server was always smiling and super friendly. I don't know her name but she was working the lunch service on a weekday and she deserves props. * The crispy rings provided a welcome textural balance to a burger. The bourbon glazed mushrooms added some welcome moisture, almost (but not quite) sauce to what is by most standards a solid burger. * Tater Tots were perfectly crispy. Onion rings were on point, and mostly adhered to the batter. * My kind of dessert menu, i.e. with an ice cream sundae. Wish I had room. Cons: * Google maps took me to the car wash on the other side of the train tracks where there's no parking. There are spots in the Cal Train station, but I couldn't tell how many. I'd have to wonder how easy it is to get parking there in the evening on a Friday/Saturday. * It's a very solid burger, no more, no less. I can't say there's anything uniquely memorable about the flavor. * Value. Burger = $17 Comments: * Great spot to come with friends, especially if you're looking for a comfortable outdoor spot. Came to try Maverick Jacks yesterday with my hubby... food was terrible, overpriced and they gave us the worst place to sit. Our baby was sleeping and they were making SO much noise behind us, he woke up. Thanks! We ordered a classic burger ($18.50 + $1 for cheese) and a fried chicken burger ($18.50 + $2.50 for a different side), with a coke we ended up paying a little over $50. We were regretful all evening BECAUSE we paid so much for terrible food. Won't be coming back anytime soon and wouldn't recommend Mavericks to anyone either.

After a long day I just wanted a decent sandwich and a soda. This place has Bad service and the food is worse. Ordered a chicken sandwich and they brought me something inedible on a bun. The best part of the meal were the fries. Just a bummer that the server didn't bring me the side of ranch until I had already given up on the meal. Not even the soda was drinkable. It tasted mostly like carbonated water with a splash of syrup in it. If you are considering stopping for dinner here, keep on driving.

Ate here on Labor Day before our trek home. We arrived at 11 am when they just opened. We happened to see Maverick Jacks on our drive to our hotel the previous day while visiting downtown Burlingame. My wife and I both ordered a burger- she had the classic and I had the Ultimatum. Burger was tasty but looked surprisingly small then what I expected (based on ordering burgers at other restaurants thru the years). The Ultimatum had bacon but didn't have any dressing in it to give it a kick or a unique taste. I added mustard that I requested. Fries were okay. Not seasoned too badly but was ordinary to say the least. We sat indoors which saw the train pass at least several times with our meal. Added a sundae for myself and wifey which was soft serve vanilla with caramel and hot fudge and peanuts. That too was okay and something you can get At McDonalds but the price here was like $9. Thing to keep in mind is if you charge by credit card, they add 2.99% to the bill to cover those merchant fees. This is the first restaurant I've been to that did that... so at $65.04, I decided to pay cash since I had that amount on hand plus tip. Overall, a good enough meal to experience what the place is all about. I can't say I would come here again with so many other food places to try around the city.

So while running errands on a Saturday afternoon, my husband decided to stop here lunch with my father in law. I had this amazing Jack's Cobb salad with blue cheese dressing on the side. My husband had the Napa Valley Turkey burger with a side salad and my father in law had the Monterey express burger with fries. All of us was so pleased with our meals, service and price. I love a good Cobb salad and everyone does not make a good one. If in area and want good food and service stop here.

There is a parking lot next to the establishment. Caltrain runs right by the restaurant. The service was fast for a Saturday night. Giovanna was extremely pleasant. I ordered the Monterey express Burger with a salad. They do offer sweet potato fries which are very good. The shakes come out in a silver cup so you know they are good. You can smell the freshly grilled meat as soon as you park.

The burger that I just consumed was DELICIOUS! If you've read any of my other reviews then you know that I KNOW good food, especially burgers. I ordered the Monterey Express burger with a side salad. Normally, I order fries but I wanted some more veggies in my life today. It had a roasted garlic aioli sauce on it which was bomb and the avocado set it off. All in all, come on by if you're around this place. My server, Fernanda, was a sweetheart. We sat outside and it was a perfect day. I also ordered a cookies and cream milkshake to go so I'm about to go in :) Enjoy!

It's always a great day at Maverick Jack's! When I first moved to the bay area, we were given this place as a recommendation in the area for good burgers and it did not disappoint! This is such a great family friendly restaurant. This place has solid burgers and a good amount/variety to choose from but not to the point where you are overwhelmed. I have had the maverick classic and the southwest veggie burgers and I have loved both! Fries are included and the portions are large! This place to definitely a great spot to check out! Parking is sometimes tricky because it shares the lot with the train station so there is limited parking.

Well to prove how bad the service is I've written the WHOLE review while waiting to Pay. They aren't busy at all. Strike 1 - they don't brew their ice tea it is from the gun. Considering the homey family feel it kind of misses the mark. Strike 2 the burger was dry it was medium rare but no juices. Strike 3 they charge 2.99% credit card surcharge. It is list at the bottom but still an annoyance. BONUS Strike 4 the service is abysmal. They only checked on me once during the whole meal. My drink wasn't refilled when they brought me my food. I will not be darkening their doorstep again. I just read through it added Strike 4 and still waiting.

The burgers and shakes are amazing! The customer service is better! I had Fabi as my server. She is quick, attentive and so pleasant.

So much yes!!! Second time coming to this place today and loved it! Super kid-friendly and dog-friendly with a large covered patio. Service is great and kids get to watch the Caltrain trains go by, it's a win win! A few of my favs- impossible burger, chicken sandwich, onion rings, tots, milkshakes, and their soft-serve sundaes. On top of all that- they have beer and wine for the adults. Can't wait to come back!
